My son has been a bike riding machine this summer thanks to Emerys. While the process was long, it was 100% worth it. Brent was thorough in assessing, planning, tweaking, and creating the perfect bike for my son, who has special needs. The bike is perfect and I wish I would have counted how many miles we've put on it this summer. Brent didn't miss a single detail - he adjusted and adapted things I didn't even know were possible. We got stopped recently by someone driving past who was so interested in where we got such a cool, unique bike. I quickly referred them to Emerys, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone else, especially if they have a rider with unique needs!

Emery’s is that family bike business I wish we had here in San Diego with deep roots in supporting cycling in the neighborhood. Mr. Emery is a true craftsman who took time and effort to get me fitted on my rental bike (I rented the Orbea for the USA Triathlon race) and helped me with finding fun riding trails. After the race we came to an agreement that I would buy the bike from him, and he gave me a very fair deal. I also noticed when we walked across the race area that many people stopped to greet him, it’s obvious he is well known and liked in the community! All this happened at about the same time his father passed away, so I am grateful he continued his support through what must have been a sad time for the family.

I brought my bike into the Lisbon store and Dennis & Chris from the moment I told them the story looked to see if they had parts in stock and they had everything except one from QR. I asked in general how long it would take to fix and they asked when my event was I told but said I understand I don't expect miracles. I had the QR part overnighted and they provided my miracle. They are a busy shop, but the staff also values the customer’s time. They give you information on the product, price, and availability. You make the decision(s). There was no hard sell. Brent sent me an e- mail at 10:00 pm regarding a bike’s availability this summer. When I thanked him the next day, he said he had worked until 1:00 am. I recently had a bike fitting and he was so thorough- sharing a wealth of tips and tricks and explaining the whys behind the hows the entire time. He explained the benefit of some equipment upgrading, but respected my budget and helped make adjustments to make my existing equipment work for the time being. What a difference it has made! Like the rest of the world looking for something fun to do during this crazy time, we were lucky to find a bike at Emery's in Milwaukee. They had the great foresight to predict a high level of demand and had ordered lots of bikes before the pandemic hit hard. I called from Chicago and asked about the bike. The guy, Chris, was amazing. He answered all my questions and they had my bike ready for the next day they were open. Although Wisconsin is not as strict as Illinois right now on masks, etc., this store was. They practiced social distancing and masks wearing, making us feel very safe and comfortable to be there. They set up my bike for my height and comfort. What was even better is Wisconsin has a 5% tax, in comparison to 10% in Illinois. An added bonus (which paid for the gas), in addition to an enjoyable, exciting ride to pick up my bike. I wish Emery's was located in Illinois. Thank you for a great experience.

Really really helpful and friendly. Drove up from chicago to get a specific Trek model. I asked for a large size bike knowing I'm too short for it but convinced it was the right size for me. They insisted that I go for a medium size bike that's more suited for my size, I refused. As I was about to leave, I believe the owner came out and said, "it won't sit right with me if I let you leave here with the wrong size bike" So I agreed and tried out the smaller size frame. He was right, it's a much better fit. I'm glad he convinced me and wasn't just trying to make a sale and get me out the door. Awesome experience and a gorgeous bike.

I have nothing but good things to say about this family business!! I had initially gone to Emery’s in Menomonee Falls (where we have gotten all our bikes and bicycle equipment for the last 10 years) because the owner Ben is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and friendly. I had lots of questions about bikes for my autistic son. Ben referred me to Emery’s in Milwaukee, saying that his brother Brent deals with and is very knowledgeable about adaptive bikes. I spoke with Brent personally on the phone and set up an appointment for my son. Brent was also EXTREMELY knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. He explained the different types of bikes that might benefit my son. (This all took place during the COVID situation. They had a plan for social distancing, and their shop was taking every precaution possible for safety of themselves and their customers). I tried my son on 2 different bikes and then decided on a recumbent style, as Brent suggested that would grow with him into adulthood. From that point on, Brent did all the paperwork on the back and with my social worker and was able to get the bike approved through state funding. The process was much quicker and easier than I expected. When we came back to pick up the bike, he got my son on it, made some adjustments, and we left. We will never go to another bike store besides either of these Emery’s locations again!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND EMERY’S!!!!!!

I've been shopping at Emery's for a few years now and really like the depth of cycling knowledge they have - I try to ride 5-6,000 miles a year and have always gotten good advice on a variety of subjects including equipment, nutrition, and training ideas. I understand they also are active in racing (including senior sports), tri sports and more. A couple of things really impress me - first, that Emery's has a heart for handicap cycle equipment and is a super resource there. Second is that even as they serve several higher level cycling niches. they are still "the neighborhood bike shop." I've seen the staff taking all the time in the world with customers from the immediate neighborhood to make sure they got the bike that was right for them. Ditto with repair - With expertise in the finest racing bikes, they take that same care on local bikes that come in the door. FYI, I'm 67 years old, ride 5-6,000 miles a year, do endurance cycling events where I often ride 24 hours straight (good lights a must!!) In my college years I worked in several bike shops as a mechanic, and my career has been as a business owner and service technician on business machines. - TH

I came in looking for a decent hybrid to get started in cycling. Mitch helped me after a few minutes, which was perfect because they were really busy and I wanted to look around at all of their clearance gear. I explained my budget and he explained my options, which I had already researched but needed a bit of help understanding. I also knew they sold used bikes and there happened to be the exact size and model I wanted, hardly used, hardly a year old, for a great price. Mitch was so patient as to even teach me how to take my front wheel on and off so I could get it home. While he was finishing up the tuning after my full fitting, the owner explained he had just customized a bike for a young girl who had never been able to pedal due to her special needs - he was so proud of this job and the "game changer" the bike would be for the girl's physical ability - I felt like he was such a great businessman. I stumbled upon Emerys by accident, but it was such an impressive experience all around and I am so pleased with my new bike!

I frequent this shop and have bought both a Bike and many accessories. I am rating it 5 stars as the service is always outstanding, the prices are competitive, and there is a large variety. Upon simply entering there is always someone immediately there to help and each representative is a true expert in their field. Another BIG thing to note is the seemingly small to non-existent up-selling, this is a huge caveat in other places and has kept me coming back for honest mechanical help and accessory purchasing. The best example of this is coming back to purchase new road biking shoes that would have likely cost in excess of $150 after the latch on one of the originals had broken. Instead of directing me over to the shoes and pointing out the best one to buy, they took the broken shoe, searched meticulously through their system and managed to find the correct latch. They then ordered it, texted me when it arrived just a few days later, and installed it for me for a 10th of the cost! I live quite a distance (about 30 miles) from this store but go out of my way to drive there when I need just about anything bike related because of their excellent service, large selection, and great prices.
