Reviews of Dream Bikes - Milwaukee

Had a bike to donate but needed some parts swapped out for my new bike. Fully expected to have to leave the bikes to get the work completed but one of the staff got right after it and took care of everything while we waited a short time. Did an excellent job and we continue to be supporters of this great business. Much appreciated.

I have purchased 4 bikes there for me and my family, and I've referred 2 other families. An excellent vibe, knowledgeable, friendly people, and great prices on quality bikes.
(All bikes pictured are Dreambikes!)

I was just wondering if you guys sell bikes for studded tires? Basically bikes durable to survive rides in the winter.

Dream bikes is not only a wonderful place to buy a refurbished bike, they are phenomenal community members. They have donated many bikes to my homeless clients- making a huge impact on their ability to get back on their feet. Cannot recommend them enough.

Came in to shop for a used bike. Found they have quite a large selection of used bikes which have been restored to full functionality, at the lower end range of reasonable used prices. When you walk through the door, one of the usually 2 or 3 people working on repairing bikes toward the back of the store will say "Hi" but they leave you alone to browse on your own. No pesky looking over your shoulder or pressure tactics. (Each bike has a tag, which tells you its size and the price). If you have a question, just approach the counter and let them know you have a question or need help. After about 20 minutes of looking at various bikes, I asked for help. One of the guys stopped what he was doing, instantly gave me his full attention, and very intelligently and honestly answered all my questions in a straightforward way. I mentally picked out 2 bikes, I thought would be good choices for me and then left, deciding I should do some more research and "sleep on it" before deciding which one to buy. After more research, I mentally "picked" one of these, i.e., the one from the manufacturer with the better reputation for higher quality components as between the two. I also decided that I would bring in my existing bike (which I bought used elsewhere and had ridden for 7 years) for an estimate of what it would cost to repair all of the several things necessary to restore acceptable function and, if the cost seemed high relative to the cost of buying the replacement bike I had picked, I would buy the "new" bike and donate the old one. When I came in the following day with my existing bike, I talked with the same guy, explained the entire situation, and asked for an estimate. He looked things over, made a couple of extra modest repair suggestions, and gave me an itemized estimateall in about 5 minutes or less! The estimate was considerably less than I know, from experience, I probably would have been quoted at a couple of other bike stores in Milwaukee, and more than $200 less than the price of the replacement bike, so I decided to go the repair route. The repairs on my existing bike were completed in a couple of days and it now rides just fine, with a couple of new spokes, tuned up wheels, new grip shifter, new tires, new rear brake, and new chain. If you are looking for a reasonably priced used bike and/or need bike repairs, I highly recommend DreamBikes-Milwaukee.

Just the very best, nicest folks working there. I came in to fix my bike brakes and they got it done lickity split for an incredibly reasonable price while I walked around the store. I did leave a hefty tip because I felt they could have absolutely charged more. They also have a great selection of all kinds of used bikes and bike accessories. Additionally, they do a lot to support the community. A great place to support in addition to phenomenal products and services!

They rebuild broken bikes that are donated and sell them at a low price along with a wide range of used bike parts and repairs.

We caught up with Caroline today and she was simply splendid. They were about to close in fifteen minutes and yet they were more than accommodating. Queries were addressed and suggestions given regarding toolsets and minimum requirements for the bike. Will definitely visit again.
In addition to this, they have a superb collection of refurbished bikes. TBH considering the scarcity of new bikes stock almost everywhere, we are deciding on closing a deal here for our second Bike, Thank you very much Caroline, you are Awesome 👍👍👍

I want to like this place more, as I like what they do and they're providing a great service to the bike community.
That said, I've been in multiple times and have a heck of a time getting anyone to pay me any attention.
I was in today for some used parts and waited patiently maybe 5+ minutes near the counter (social distancing, right?) to check out. During that time one worker was on the phone right in front of me (business call, with a customer), then hung up and walked off to do something else, another took a seat behind the side register for a few minutes, got up and walked off, and another was actively helping a customer. No one acknowledged me, asked if I needed help, or requested another worker help me!
At the same time, while I was browsing, another customer asked me where brake parts were, I tried to help and one of the workers came out of nowhere to help the customer, so they've gotta be aware?
I ended up putting my items back and left for another shop where I spent quite a bit more on new parts. Unfortunate, but time is money for some people.
When I worked in a bike shop, every customer in the door was greeted or acknowledged right away, that's customer service 101, no?
I hope DreamBikes can take this feedback and make some effort to improve their customer service.
They have a unique value proposition of used parts, only 1 or 2 other shops in Milwaukee do this, and one in particular (near grand avenue) always approaches me when I walk in the door. Please don't take customers for granted!

Excellent service and staff. Everyone there is super helpful and great at their job. I spent over $200 at a different area bike shop for a fix that Dream Bikes was able to do for under $20. This is the only bike store I will go to now.

Awesome people, I broke one of my pedals, came in and picked out a new pair and they even let me use their wrench so I could ride home with my new pedals! They have a lot of bikes to choose from if your looking to buy one as well!

Had a rear tire rim bent beyond riding and a tube replaced on the front. They had it done in 30 minutes on a Saturday. Very friendly and helpful kids working. We ended up buying a bike as well. Help support the community and check them out before you shop online!!!!
Cherish Martinez

Great space in an underappreciated area of the city. The kids working were super friendly. A young man named Mathew helped find a bike for my 14 yr old son. Great experience and selection of bikes.

Bought my bike about a year ago from Dreambikes and I love it. Went in today with a bike rack that wouldn't fit. They were able to install it for me. Very satisfied and happy to live riding distance from this bike shop.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. They made a small repair for super cheap and did it right away. Plus this shop actually helps people learn skills. I'd support them over a fancy bike shop any day.
Kevin Fera
Excellent experience here. Walked in, explained the problem, had a fixed bike about 25 minutes later, and the price was especially reasonable. Highly recommend this place if you need someone to look at your bike.
Thomas Duffy
Great place! Found a great bike, and did the community some good.
Sonia Furmage
Great shop! We have gotten our growing boys amazing bikes at great prices here. Also a good place to have your bikes serviced.
Adrian Baquero
Lots of used bike and used parts, but it's annoying that none of the used parts have prices on them; you have to ask "how much" every time you find something you think you might want. Then, half the time, when you actually go check out, the person doing the cash register gives you a different price than the first person. Combined with the fact the parts are all jumbled into bins can make shopping here aggravating. Maybe they should consider labeling all the parts with prices as they put them into their bins or something, or telling their employees who aren't authorized / qualified to give pricing info to direct customers to someone who IS instead of this "oh well it's actually..." bs.

The staff is the best.they helped me out with a free bike to get me back and forth to work when I was homeless, now I have a great apartment,a great bike, and things are just getting better.this bike got me out of the Milwaukee. Rescue mission shelter and back on my feet again.i love you guys, and girls at dream bikes.god will bless all of you.j.baier...

I went there without the intention of buying a bicycle, but the guys there were so friendly and helpful that I ended up walking out with a bike! They have a lot of really nice bicycles there and all the profits go back to the community and to giving teenagers jobs so everything goes to a good cause.

Drove 3 hours roundtrip to purchase higher end roadbike parts and was not disappointed!!! Kevin-the manager knows his stuff and what he doesn t know he at least researches it on the internet!!! It wasn t hard to spend 500 bucks on pre-owned parts but this place is a honeyhole for bike builders!!! Will definetly make the trip again!!

Lots of bike parts to pick through. Very many jerseys and bicycle clothing. Staff seemed a bit too focused on the bikes they were working on when I tried to speak with them.

Milwauke has become more developed and holistic. This bike shop reflects the urban meets suburb culture here.
