Fantastic!!!! Knowledgeable, professional staff. LARGE, BRIGHT, OPEN AIRY store! This store should please both the avid cyclist and the newbie. There is something for everyone from little tricycles for children to high end bikes and everything in between. They even have home fitness equipment. If you missed a key word it is HAVE! Bikes are difficult to find right now and this store actually has a good selection in stock!! If you read my profile or reviews, you see I travel for a living. So my rating of this bike shop is not just local, I am comparing it to shops from San Diego to Amsterdam -- and I whole heartedly give it 5 stars! (Sorry about the poor picture of the front, it was pouring rain yesterday. The front entrance is actually easy to spot and inviting to enter)

I am an avid cyclist, vintage bike hoarder and love to tinker. However, I know my limitations when it comes to servicing certain bikes. Do yourself a favor and take it to the professionals. What little money you spend on their trained bike technicians will save you so much time, frustration and reduce bloody knuckles from using wrong wrenches.

I really recommend this bike shop. I got a good bike fitting where I got some important insight into how I ride and what I might change to get more comfort and power out of my cycling stroke. I found the folks there personable, patient and approachable. I was pleasantly surprised with how willing they were to give me a great experience and a very reasonable price on a fabulous bike. I really enjoy small bike companies but I chose to go with Trek because I really felt that Trek supports you and your bike for life. The lifetime carbon frame warranty is impressive as well as their program to repair or replace your frame in an event of a crash or non warranty applicable event. Also, this shop helped me get a hard bike case for the bike so I could take it with me abroad. The packing was well done.

I started out the Mayor's Labor Day Hike, Bike and Paddle event on my favorite road bike and within the first mile, I'd ran over the train tracks that blew out both my tubeless tires beyond repair. Within minutes, the Scheller's van was on it's way to pick me up off the side of the road. Dave drove me home to Jeffersonville, waited for me to switch out my bikes then taxied me back to to meet my cycling team at the finish line. Scheller's saved me from a very long hike over the Big Four Bridge in bike cleats and also saved my Labor Day! Thank you, Team at Scheller's!

Went in to purchase a new road bike. Employee that helped me was extremely helpful. Helped me fit my bike, put the pedals on, and load up my bikes in the back of my truck. Store was very nice and clean. Lots of gear there, but low on bikes because of the shortage of components.

They are very helpful here. When I bought my bike and the person helping me realized that a certain model would probably be the best fit, he spent the afternoon putting together the one they had so that I could try it, even though there was no guarantee that I was even going to buy a bike from them. They are always patient. They don't try to upsell you, and they listen to what you actually need. Just took my bike in for a flat and they fixed it right there on the spot (I imagine this is not always possible, but it was appreciated). They are just a great local shop that I trust.

Had a wonderful experience at Scheller’s! The staff was really friendly, the space was welcoming and very neat and organized, and I was encouraged to try out the bike I was getting and even given a test helmet! I’ve been places before where that wasn’t an option and it was awkward to ask, but here I didn’t even have to! All my questions were answered and Brooke went above and beyond making sure I was happy with the bike, and she was quick to make any quick adjustments she felt may be needed. I felt it was a very honest shop and you can tell they really love what they do and want their customers happy! I’ll be recommending them to friends and family, for sure.

I've never seen such amazing service after the sale from anywhere. I always get greeted, by name, with a smiling face. They keep my bike running like a top. Where to start? I recently purchased a new Trek bike from one of the other Scheller's locations and went to my local store to get a few adjustments. Within seconds of walking in, I was greeted by Pat, he made it his personal mission to get my bike right. During our conversation, he made it known to me that it was his first day and twenty minutes in to his first shift. The way he took extreme ownership of the situation made me feel like he had been there forever. After a little back and forth it was decided for them to take a further look and they would contact me when my bike was ready. Thirty minutes later I receive a message letting my know my bike was ready. Once I returned, Kay walked me through several of the components and best use case. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I could not recommend this location enough, whether you are an experienced rider, or new to road bikes like myself. Friendly, knowledgeable and thorough staff.

I had an issue with shoes. I ended up with a set too long for me. The cleats wouldn't move far enough back for me to have the balls of my feet over the peddle center. When I was next at the store I told them about it. Marty told me to bring in the shoes and my bike. I worked with a woman named Brooke. She agreed with the problem, helped me shop for and found me the perfect pair of shoes(and took the old ones back). She also noticed my seat was not setup optimum and asked if she could adjust it for me. I love riding my bike even more now!! The service was stellar. The employees friendly. I'm quite pleased. I've bought my bike, helmet, shoes, peddles and all of my accessories from Scheller's. They have a loyal customer in me.

Called Scheller's to see if they carried a particular Garmin watch and spoke with Brooke. Received excellent customer service by phone and stopped in the shop to put a special order on the watch and some extra bands. Been on the fence about getting a new bike myself and decided then and there to make it happen. Two bikes with all the necessary accessories later I headed home. I live close by, and Brooke even went out of her way to bring the bikes over as they couldn't' fit in my car. Very pleased with the knowledgeable staff and customer service at Scheller's and happy to have given them my business.

I don't know where to start. The staff at the Scheller's St. Matthews location has been great. Brooke, Emma, John, and Kay are the best. They dispense sage advice and more importantly they listen to the customer. The team makes sure to tailor everything to the customers needs. I started going to this location because it's close to one of the offices I work at. My work location has changed and even though I am much closer to other Scheller locations (which from my visits also have great staff members) I keep coming back to St. Matthews. The team there are my cycling experts. Riders that love the sport! A local bike shop is the way to go. This local bike shop is the only place to go. You can't get this type of service and knowledge anywhere else.

We love our neighborhood bike shop. The staff is always helpful and more than accommodating. Bike maintenance and tune-ups are reasonably priced and of high quality. Our last two visits we worked with Bryan, who went above and beyond to help us with our son's bike adjustments and fitting our kids for new helmets. We'll keep going back.

I'm a satisfied customer. I bought a "balance bike" specifically designed to help a young child quickly learn the skills of safely riding a bicycle. This type of bike has no pedals and is propelled by the rider's feet alone. It does not have "training wheels" and is much superior to a traditional bike with "training wheels". It's important to buy a good quality "balance bike" of the correct size with pneumatic tires and hand brakes for safety and to to teach a young child proper riding skills. We were not able to find a satisfactory product at the big box stores. This product we bought at Schiller's was a special order and was completely satisfactory. When we traded it in with the purchase of a "real" bicycle, the net cost was less than the cost of a cheap product. The little girl became a proficient rider within just a few weeks, and when it was time to replace the "balance bike" with a standard bicycle, Scheller's offered a very generous trade-in allowance on a new bicycle. Now our "Little Buddy" is riding along with her older sisters. Even with the limitations imposed by the virus pandemic, the transactions went quickly without any problems and the little girl is riding a new bike with exactly the color and features she wanted. The little girl has two older sisters who ride bikes and they need occasional maintainance and repair too. Schiller's has always provided excellent service when needed. I will return again to purchase new bicycles as these children grow and are ready for bigger bikes. Currently, in-store shopping is available in addition to online shopping. Curbside pickup is available and the service is excellent. Custom work and repair services available. I feel compelled to let others know that Scheller's, especially the team at the St. Matthews store (John, Brooke, Kay, Hunter, Bryan, and Cameron...sorry if I've left out someone), is a truly great cycling shop. They know how to fit all merchandise...to include an unbelievable bike fit machine (not sure what it is called...but there is a large degree of science and not guesswork involved). John had my bike serviced for pick up in one day and looked over the rest of the bike for preventative maintenance. Why would I go anywhere else? They're really great folks! :)

Writing strictly from the repair perspective. These guys are great. I've been in three times and been treated very fairly in therm of repairs and advice. Perhaps they are interested in cultivating loyal customers rather than just churning through high volume sales. As long as that continues to be the impression I get, this will continue to be the bike shops I go to. On the new bike side, it seems like their preferred brand is trek. I had a friend buy from them and he was sort of annoyed with how little education they gave him on the bikes features, how to use them, and how to take care of the bike. He said it was like they were just shooing him out of the door after the purchase. Not my experience so not factoring it into the review.

Emma, Brooke and John are awesome! A couple years ago, I purchased one of the more inexpensive hitch racks, but had ongoing problems with the locking mechanisms. Brooke and John were always helpful in getting the problem resolved and ordered replacement parts from the manufacturer which seemed to fix the problem. Two weeks later, I got rear-ended on 264 which destroyed the bike rack (and my car's bumper). The car dealership fixed the bumper, and installed a new rack on the car (the same kind I had locking problems with). Brooke and John were kind enough to let me exchange the new rack for the Kuat NV 2 Base that I wanted instead. Emma was kind enough to take off the current rack and install the Kuat before I purchased to make sure it didn't block the car's back-up camera. Thanks Emma, for taking the time out of your day to do that! I've been to other bike shops in town and I'll never purchase anything from one other than Scheller's. Their staff couldn't be nicer and are always incredibly helpful! Thanks for all you do!

If you're looking for a bike or fitness cycle, this is the store you want to go to. Store manager Brooke Crum can not be any nicer, or more professional. Her love of cycling is apparent and contagious. The store has just about anything you're looking for and prices are comparable to or better than most. Even among other Schellers locations, though great, we keep coming back to the St. Matthews location for the customer service.

From start to finish, my experience with the Scheller's team was fantastic. I had flooring installed in my workout room; it was done most professionally and looks beautiful. I also ordered equipment, a universal gym and treadmill. They were delivered and set up beautifully. The whole process was seamless. Greg Scheller and Brooke Crum were wonderful to work with. Always communicative and friendly. They were both very patient with all of my questions and spent a lot of their time ensuring I got exactly what I was looking for. Very grateful to Scheller's Fitness & Cycling in Saint Matthews. Had an emergency tire situation right at closing time and John stayed after closing time to fix my tire and offered to re-examine it the next day to make sure it was in perfect order. To my amazement also, I think he felt I had been punished enough and did not charge me at all. I am super satisfied with the Computerized Bike Fit that Brooke did for me at Scheller’s Fitness & Cycling! I am a 83 year old 2500 mile per year rider. Recently had a medical procedure and had to stay off my bike for 4-6 months. When I did get back on I could only ride 5 miles without extreme neck pain. I went to 2 different Chiropractors, an MD and a Physical Therapist. Nothing helped. Finally, I called Marty Scheller and explained my problem. He suggested that I have Scheller’s do a Computerized Bike Fit. I set up an appointment with Brooke and she did my fit in their private studio that lasted about 2-1/2 hours. She changed out a couple components and made several adjustment to my bike. After all the adjustments I rode 10.1 miles from their store around Seneca and had absolutely no pain! I can’t say enough good things about the folks at Scheller’s and the professional way Brooke took care of me! Phil Ratterman

The staff at Scheller's were exceptional earlier this week as my young rambunctious son's and I arrived with a need for new helmet's and help/instruction on changing a flat tire. The knowledgeable and patient mechanics walked my son and I through the mechanics of how to change the back tire that had given us so much trouble earlier and taught us how to quickly and safely remedy the situation on future bike rides if it ever happens again. Highly recommended for the advanced riders all the way down to the beginners (and those brushing off the cobwebs from cycling years ago).

I went to a women's bike clinic at scheller's! We went on a ride around Cherokee park with Brooke and Becky from the store. It was so much fun! As a new rider, they taught me and the other ladies a little about riding in a group on the road. They also showed us how to change an inter tube on the go. It was so much fun! Brooke is the best! She's knows a lot about riding. She's friendly, patient, and a great teacher! Both Brooke and Becky's positive attitudes made the clinic a great experience! I stopped in a few weeks ago for a PrecisionFit and could not have had a more pleasant and rewarding time than what I experienced. Brooke is extremely knowledgeable and she shared numerous tips to assist me in my overall cycling (triathlete) improvement efforts. The PrecisionFit equipment and process is top of the line and cutting edge utilizing the most up-to-date technology to make both large and small adjustments. In a little over an hour, I went from only being able to stay in the aero position comfortably for 5 to 6 minutes to over an hour the following day. My power and cadence have also increased significantly. I just completed a 4 hour ride this past weekend where I spent over 95% of the time in the aero position. Thanks to Brooke and Scheller's, my cycling experience has greatly improved and is far more enjoyable! Looking forward to my first full IRONMAN in September.
