So I love the vibe here. They talk to you and are so friendly. LOTS of nails colors and options. But no menu and I’ve definitely been hustled a couple of times. Their pedicures are nice. The second visit. I got the pink nails done and the tech was quick and gave me exactly what I wanted and the shape I wanted (which apparently is hard for most salons to comprehend). But she charged me $75! $5 per dip color. And didn’t tell me that was the extra charge till after it was done. I have NEVER been charged $5 for a different color anywhere else. She also overdrilled and when removing the dip, my nails are veryyy sensitive. Then I wen back a 3rd time and got this peach color. The tech absolutely butchered my nails. Definitely over-drilled trying to fix them and it still came out sloppy over an hour and a half later with 3 nicked cuticles. They charged me $50 instead of $60 knowing I wasn’t happy with the final result. Overall, i do love the vibe and it’s so hard to find a spot where you feel like you connect with the nail techs but Red Lotus needs to provide a menu and adhere to it. I’m willing to pay good money and tip well if I don’t feel hustled and scammed. I know they can do a great job if they want to.

I enjoyed my acrylic set and lash extensions here. My nail tech Mary did a great job on an unusual Halloween set..while it took a couple tries I really appreciated her starting over on the design till we were both happy. It was relatively clean, definitly a lot better than your average philly walk in shop. The overall vibe I'd very friendly and relaxed. Reasonable prices but not the cheapest available. This will be my regular place!

The owners have been im the neighborhood for legit decades and are known to the community which give it a homelike vibe. Good service and one of the few places open on Sundays. My only complaint is that they don't take cards, but there is a MAC machine right outside the door. Picture is my daughters nails.

I love this place! The owners are really nice and every time I visit I’m greeted with happy faces. They use individual pacts of new utensils for each customer! The pedicures are awesome! They use a solution that turns your water into what feels like clouds!! It’s worth the money when you are being well serviced.

decent and good service from my experience. would like if they were transparent with pricing (they need a clear and large board with all services and their price range) and have a clear sign on the door that states that it is cash only. need more transparency with basic information for customers to decide if they want to continue with a service and what services cost what BEFORE someone gets sat in a chair. overall, haven't had any problems gel full set nails w/design came out good and pedicure was relaxing with good results.

Relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The nail tech gave me what I wanted and it is a beautiful color. The only let down is that a couple of my nails on the right hand were seemingly rushed with an inconsistency in shape and now I’m obsessing over it. I will return though, and hope for more attention to detail.

Visited this salon last week for the first time, first impression, staff was very friendly, salon is clean and practice proper social distancing protocols, my nails look great technician did an excellent job with the shape. Got a full set, typically do my own nails but I was impressed, will be returning. Did not give the fifth star because 1: cash only which I hate 2: during covit Gel polish is the only option for pedicures, I do not care for gel on my toes so I opted out of the pedicure 😒 Ps. this picture is from one week after my nails were done

I have been attending this nail salon for one year and a half. I normally go every two weeks for a spa pedicure and gel refill. My daughter's get kiddie pedicures and kiddie manicures. I am serviced by Jenny and my girls by Molly. I love their customer service and the environment is absolutely spotless. We are always offered snacks, beverages and other sentiments of thanks. You get what you pay for. 😍😍😍

Experience: 7/10. Quick service. Most of the techs were nice & patient. Cash only- The ATM is out front but, can be "long", you could be waiting behind 1 or up to 7 people. (Bring cash with you.) The pedicure: $42 (pedi w/ gel polish). *STEEP* Nothing special or extra was done. (At that price, some type of spa treatment should have been added.) No soak. No bubbles. I checked my toes after the wash & some callous removing still had to be done. (Glad I did that!) Also, I had to go back for another layer of polish. Overall- The experience was ok. I don't believe I'll be back though.

It was great! I tried the dip polish and it looks really nice and is great if you want a nice even glitter on your nails. The wait was supposed to be 25 min but it felt closer to just 15 and was definitely worth it. I went with my grandmother and she liked her nails as well. The location is also extremely convenient and I love that they're open Sundays, I will definitely be returning.

OMG I LOVE this place. They don t rush You, they are by far The best. The brothers Ricky and Nick are excellent. The women are by far exceeds my expectations. Great place to be pampered. It was near their closing time as we were driving up to the place, but in spite of that, they were literally waving us in. We raced to get in to get our nails done, all four of us. They warmly welcomed us all in, efficiently notated what services we wished to get, and settled us all in. I had a nice massage in the chair as I got my pedicure. The lady who waited on me for my mani and pedi was so patient and understanding, as I had not been to a salon in a while. They had really cool, up tempo music playing, and they just took care of us. It was really, really nice. And the job they did on my toes and fingers was just so pretty🌺😁💛I love it 💕🌺💞I can't wait to get back there for my refill, which she helpfully informed me is what I need when I asked her when I should come back and what to ask for. I love it there, and I can't wait to get back in two weeks🌼🌸💕

Hannah Klien, I read your review and I didn’t receive that type of experience. The salon was very welcoming to me and a friend of mine they we became regulars. They’re very nice, I never seen it in an unclean fashion. I feel comfortable and the conversations are fun, the managers and nail techs are also really nice compared to others I’ve been. This a five star nail salon in West Philly and been the best one I been to in a long time.

There comes a time when you say enough with the f*ckery and leave that nail salon that you been going to for 10+yrs and go on a crazy hunt looking for a new place…I thank my CREATOR for putting me where I need to be at the right times because I found them after leaving a hair salon in the area…coming across this place has changed my LIFE, I don’t dread having to wait for hours AFTER I made an appointment for a PEDICURE. They are SUPER FRIENDLY! Excellent customer service, tools were taken out of sanitized packages, the ambiance was on point, like the only thing missing is champs, cuz that definitely would be nice. Ruby did my pedicure and was very attentive although I am not sure she understands English too well. I ended up paying for an extra 10 min leg & foot massage and would have melted in that chair had it not been for my wavering airport anxiety, it definitely helped keep me relaxed for my travels! My search started and ended here! Will definitely be returning, excited to start getting quality pedicures regularly again!

My nails look good but they are not the color I chose from the samples. I showed the color I wanted and ended up with something way brighter on my toes. Also not the friendliest service. Overall it was a good pedicure but kind of overpriced for the service I got.

I went to this place yesterday, actually quite late and they were a bit reluctant because it was the end of the day haha but they say my friend and I still and did our nails, which is great customer service. I can’t speak for my friend but my nail technician LY was very funny and professional. I don’t get my nails done really I just started to want to do them if I could find a place to keep going to, and she did a great job I love my nails, I chose the color yellow but I gave her free artistic expression to do a design, she asked a little about me and pulled something together, and it came out great. Definitely will go again the staff was nice it was clean and they do good work I liked my friends nails also I just didn’t like how much it was haha I don’t do my nails often but never paid 90$ before, but that’s more on me we came in so late and didn’t see the prices before hand. And I also didn’t like the cash only as well getting your nails done and then have to go outside and take money out that I disliked to and not to speak for my friend she loved it but felt a little pressured to get the design on her hand and she had been saying she didn’t want that so she got her nails and likes them but felt a little pressured and that bothered her. But all and all I give 4 stars, if you go check out LY she did fantastic and was even talking to me which was nice and fun.

It was ok. The guy I had, needs to get a little better. He took the towel that was under my feet and lightly shook it towards me. He was just a little gross. Did my nails ok being that I only needed a manicure and a pedicure. Young dude needs to be a little more respectful, not sure of the correct wording, of his customer. Other than that, ok.

This place is the best! We came here at the very last minute. Thank goodness we did! We had a trip to Jamaica the following morning. My daughter wanted a special design which the other “Nail Salons” could not do. This salon specializes in nail art! So ppl may think it’s a little pricey but trust me, it’s well worth it! You will not be disappointed!!!

Amazing service! And they are open 7 days a week! I came in because I got my nails done somewhere else the day before and I hated them. The owner here was super sweet and let me know they would be able to fix it. Ricky was the one who did my nails and he took his time and perfected my nails! I absolutely loveeeeee them! They will officially be my salon now. I’ve never been to a salon and been serviced right away. Literally no wait at all because they have so many nail techs! I definitely recommend! 10 out of 10 customer service 🥰

I have been coming in red lotus for the last few years and i am satisfied with my pedicure and manicure. Nice and beautiful staffs. They always tell me how much is my service before i am okay with it because my husband paying for it...lol. I am here every two weeks. I don't care what people said. I love red lotus salon. This nail salon is the best I’ve been to. For someone like myself who has been getting her nails done since I was 14 and I’m now 42 that says a lot. I have never encountered a more personable business. The owners and techs have always been very attentive, and hospitable. Between the conversation, the snacks and the impeccable service, I refuse to believe the one bad review I read. The majority of customers are of color and this business from what I’ve seen treats everyone with respect and kindness. You get what you pay for, when my nails and feet are done I don’t need them redone for at least 3 weeks, that has never been the case in my past. I love the environment And have gotten 3 of my girlfriend’s to switch to this salon. One of whom travels all the way from York. Please go experience it for yourself I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. The best Salon I’ve ever had the pleasure of stepping foot in.

I read some reviews in here it seems like either people take advantage of technicians want more service but don't want to pay and posted something that not true. Negative customers with 1 star should not come to distract the good one. I like this nail salon because they have more technicians and close at 8pm. I dont care what people say. I like good salon and good energy.

Best nail salon I have ever been to. The customer service is excellent!! They treat you like family. I had to leave my daughter to get her pedicure and manicure done because I was multi-tasking that day(all my mom's know what I mean) and they treated her like she was their own. LOVE THEM!! Not to mention the quality of the nails they do is extraordinary. You can go to any of them and get the same service. Top notch for sure.

I've been twice so far. The first trip I got a gel pedicure and a manicure with dip powder. It came out okay but the lady who did my toes cut me a little but Ruby, who did my nails, was nice. It was 98 for the feet, hands and brow. The very next day a nail cracked and I went back to have it fix and fully intended to pay for it (although I know a fix within the first two or three days is free). The girl who fixed it (Sarah) was really rude and darn near yelled at me for not remembering my "number". Smh. The second time I got my nails soaked off and had to wait for an hour. They implied it was because the dip powder was difficult to soak off but it was because it was crowded. I'm patient tho. I got a gel manicure and the lady, belss her heart, had no idea what she was doing. I'm going to give them one more try today. Cross your fingers for me.... okay so, update. I went in for a gel mani pedi and it took forrreeeevvvveeeeerrrrr. I got there around 945 and didn't leave until 12ish. The lady, who happened to be the same person who did my nails last time, was sweet and did a much better job this time. She REALLY took her time. I saw several ppl who had the same services come and go while I was there. I don't think I will be going back. I asked Ruby to do my brows because I really liked the way she had done them on a previous visit and she gave me a dirty look then told the receptionist she didn't want to... I'm assuming because she said it in another language... so Rose did them and she did a wonderful job. She was very sweet too. However, I just don't think the service and quality are worth the money. I spent about $85 on this last trip and for that I shouldn't have left feeling the way I did.

I’m updating this review because I did speak to the owner she is very good people. I appreciate her taking the time out of busy schedule to address the situation. Again I’ve been going there a long time and have been very pleased with all of the techs work. Customer service is key!! She was very understanding and that is key to running a business. And she has been in the neighborhood a very long time, they are clean and fast that why I like to go there. Ok so I have been going to red lotus since they opened and I never received the type of service that I received today. The nail tech who I will not mention because I’m not the kind of person who want anyone to lose their job especially during this time but she really turned me off. I felt like she low key insulted me during the service by stating that most of her clients spend $200 to $300 for her service I felt like that was an unnecessary comment given the state of the economy during a pandemic you should be grateful for any amount spent by a returning or potential client. She also walked away several times during the service. She asked me what I liked and I told her I usually get simple nails and she proceeded to say that she only likes doing extra nails and that if your not getting anything extra she would rather you go to another tech because it wouldn’t be worth her time. And you are entitled to have a preference however when you work in the service industry it’s not in your best interest to insults your customers. I also told her I wanted my nails shorter then my previous set and she still made them too long. I think that she want to make a certain amount of money a day which is fine but if I request a certain thing the customer should be your priority not your personal agenda. She also made me very uncomfortable which in the chair while she was doing my pedicure. I should have requested someone else at that time but I was not trying to cause a scene. Her service was poor af. I’m mad I actually sat there but I really tried to give her a chance and she failed miserably!! I will have think if I will even go back and if I do decide to go back I definitely DO NOT want to be serviced by her. I feel as this the other techs do a way better job and mind you I’m been going there since they opened and haven’t had a problem until today. Friday 8/14/20 I got there at 9am this morning and I will probably go and talk to the owner myself because I’m not a keyboard warrior and highly upset with my service.

This University City nail salon is the only one I will ever go to. Very relaxing, inviting and beautiful environment. All the employees are very pleasant, attentive and experienced. Since becoming a regular customer I've trusted 3 different people do my eyebrows and was impressed with the outcomes. Over the years I have been very hesitant to let just anyone at any salon do my eyebrows if my regular staff person wasn't available, but at Red Lotus they all are professionals. My only complaint is that they only accept cash payments.

I have been going to the Red Lotus salon since the opening I feel very comfortable there it feels like a Spa in the neighborhood. All the technicians are friendly and courteous the owners are just as accommodating. They will serve you coffee and water the service there is great I am very please with the growth of my nails my lashes my eyebrows. I’ve never had a total body wax but I’m sure that feels wonderful as well. I would highly recommend Red Lotus. spas and nails at 46th and Baltimore is the place to go. Annie is my favorite technician . She the best one I love.....❤️

This was my first time coming to red lotus, which my cousin highly recommended. They did an awesome job, they were attentive, and had great hospitality. Lucy and her husband are really hands on and nice. Samantha did an impeccable job on my pedicure. I will be recommending all my family, and friends. Ask for the gel treatment which is included in your pedicure, wonderful experience.

This was my second time going here. I like this nail salon. They stay open until 8:30 on Saturdays, which is good. They have an amazing selection of colors for regular, gel, and powder polishes. The staff are very friendly. I do not recommend going on a Saturday night unless you absolutely have to. I got there around 7:25. The wait was nuts. It was about 45 minutes. They did let me know right up front how long the wait would be.

Service is really good, they help get your nails done efficiently. Color choices are very ranged and people are very nice, occasionally customers are treated with samples from the cafe next door. Products seems very clean and new, technicians are very gentle and neat. Came in for a dip and gel, got both.

I had such a great experience here both the manager and his wife talked to my friend and I while we waited to get our pedicures. They also offered water and snacks! I love that the owner is a police officer and owns his own nail salon. The wife was very nice and even gave me some great Chinese restaurants to try in the city and even in the suburbs!!! I HIGHLY recommend this place to get a pedicure, manicure, and massages! I truly believe they capture the essence of what customer service is, so you would be a fool not to try them out

I usually get gel polish however I wanted to try DIP manicure and it does lasts long too. I love that they have a variety colors and their selection of brand name polishes is endless. The salon has a serene and relaxing ambience and they treated me with kindness. I highly recommend this place and it’s reasonably priced for people on a budget.

Red Lotus is hands down the best nail salon that I have ever been to. All of the staff are warm and friendly and the owners are so personable and welcoming. My mother, aunt and cousin have been going to them for some time and tried for the first time one month ago and then again yesterday(my dip nail set lasted for one month!) I went to Jenny the Jenny first time and Rose yesterday, both are amazing, but I’ll be sticking with Rose from now on as she repaired a nail that was badly broken and extremely painful. But to continue to speak to how amazing they are, not only did they provide me with excellent nail service, they also allowed me to indulge in the soup that they were eating for dinner and boy was it delicious! Red Lotus nail salon is amazing!

They are very consist everytime eventhough the old nail techicians are gone but new technicians are great and better.. i am stringly recommended. Great experience for it to be my first time getting a pedicure. They changed techs which i didn’t really like cause my mom always get the same person. My nails were good they just just broke within a few days. But overall my experience was good and i highly recommend just get the same person for both services! So I actually love it because the service is normally great. However, I had to come back to get my nail fixed because it wasn't done properly. The person who normally does my nails left for the day so I was told to come in and I would be accommodated. Upon arriving I was greeted by a nail tech who once I told her what I needed done rudely refused me and left me standing at the counter. So another nail technician happuly assisted me and accidentally got oil on my heather grey sweats that were fairly new. When I asked for some type of compensation everyone seemed to get an attitude with me. All the customer service went right out the window.

I like this place. Service is great. Sometimes you get a complimentary drink or piece of fruit. Nice and clean. My gel polish set usually lasts as long as it should. I like the pedicure smoothie treatment they have for your feet. The only drawback is the wait. I suggest calling ahead to check wait times.

I had a few bad experiences and I had a few good experiences. All it comes down to is that you have to be stern about what you want. If you want to know something, ask questions. If you don’t like something, say something if they do not want to help fix the problem. You just don’t have to go back. I simply found who do my nails how I like and I only choose them no one else. You are paying for a service make sure you get what you want. Just do it with respect.

Service is honestly just OK. Glad the shop is open but honestly, was hoping to feel like an appreciated customer and not just another tech slip with how much I owe. Some Techs are ok, some have nasty attitudes, some are rude to customers and just don't seem to be happy servicing customers. Because of COVID-19, Having to pay for the $2 nail kit for your next appt, was a shocker and honestly unpolished (no pun intended) This is about principle, nothing else. As a thank you to returning and new customers, that little $2 kit should have been on the house. Especially how much services are ($85 for a gel man/pedi +$2 kit) A bottle of water, a warm welcome, shoot even a glass of wine would have been classy. Roxi is really the only reason why I support the shop! Community businesses must do better to continue getting the support of not only loyal customers but new ones too.

They desperately need to improve the ventilation. I got a terrible headache from the excessively strong nail polish smell. I have been in other salons before, and never had I experienced such a strong toxic odor. I somehow managed to stick it out, and received a wonderful pedicure. The jelly foot soak is fun and feels amazing, and my nail technician was very precise. Sadly, I can’t imagine coming back until they fix the ventilation problem.
