Got the Brow Styling and Dye done with a brow stylist (not Nick). Beautiful salon and excellent service. Giving 4 starts because I think that my brows were a little too thick for my face and shape and had to remove some of the dye afterwards. Will probably spend a little more money to get my brows done by Nick or just use the service without the dye. Otherwise, had an excellent experience.

I found Nicck Townsend Salon on Instagram. Nicck didn’t do my brows but he did step in during my appointment and greeted me with a smile. Nicck and his staff were very professional. I stop getting my brows done years ago. I was always told “too thin” but honey my brows look amazing. I stepped out and took a chance and tried something different, it was the best decision for these brows. On the day of my appointment, Mya called and gave me a heads up about the detour. The phone call alone was helpful being as though this was my first appointment. The shop is refreshing, clean, and welcoming. Also, I can’t leave out how good the playlist was. It would be nice if more empathy was shown for new customers trying to learn how to navigate the area. Additionally, if possible, please consider not taking gratuity for services not rendered when an appointment is cancelled. It is already an unfortunate experience for new customers who genuinely did their best to get there. This is not feedback about Nick personally (as we did not have the opportunity to meet), just something to consider regarding customer service from one professional to another. I also don't disagree with penalizing people who are inconsiderate enough to be repeatedly late. But, a little forgiveness or empathy for new customers (who are 6 min late) might be a consideration on their first appointment. I would have loved to have learned more about Nick and his services. Update: I am changing my rating based on a recent interaction with the owner who did acknowledge and address my concern about the gratuity specifically.

I had a great experience. The salon was clean and smelled so good. You are first asked to use hand sanitizer when you enter, which I appreciated (given everything with COVID). I was satisfied with my brow service, Nicck is great at what he does. I will definitely be back.

There were slight complications trying to confirm my sentiment but once that was stained out all services were great! Clean space, the owners dog was there and super friendly and adorable. I was happy with the overall result. My eyebrows were shaped beautifully and filled in with tint. I will say this service didn’t last nearly as long as other tints that I’ve had (5-7 days) . They did fulfill my needs for the evening— I had an event that evening which is why I wanted my brows done. The brows lasted into the next day. After that the tiny had already faded. The brow professional knew exactly what she was doing, she was knowledgeable, clean, explanatory, professional, and quick.

The ambiance was spectacular. I was able to come in next day for last minute cancellation slot and I’m so glad I did. I got the shaping and tint. I’m still trying to figure out how she maintained the thickness while still giving them shape. My eyebrows haven’t been this full since before I started getting waxed. All the thread and regular wax places I’ve been to used to make them so thin that I would have to immediately use a pencil after leaving the chair- even when I specify to keep them thick. Let me start off by saying Nick is the Best! I traveled from Middletown, De to have my eyebrows tinted. However, due to my sparse eyebrows and gray hairs I could not receive the aforementioned service. Nick on the other hand, explained everything to me in great detail and gave me great service. Prior to booking I heard a great deal about Nicck’s eye brow shaping and tinting services. A few friends had gone prior to me and were always satisfied. On the day of my service I arrived a few minutes early, as to not violate the well explained and reiterated late policy. When I arrived the door was locked to create a safe environment for each client during Covid. The receptionist walked to the door, asked if I had an appointment, and instructed me to wait while a previous client’s services were completed AND the area was cleaned for my appointment. I was very impressed. Mostly because it was apparent from the appearance of the neat and well designed waiting area that pre covid guests were permitted to wait inside the salon. I was appreciative that Nicck and his staff thought to adjust their standard procedure beyond what was merely necessary to keep the space clean and safe. When I came in there was sanitizer waiting, which I was asked to use by the very pleasant receptionist, and I was instructed to meet Nicck at his chair. He was very polite and asked how I heard of him and when I last received a brow service. After I answered he went straight to business and began drawing lines on my face to properly shape my brows to my facial features. I appreciate that Nicck was not dismissive of my eye brows as they were, and actually complimented their natural shape. I have experienced some artists who engage with new clients in a way meant to shame them for not seeking their services sooner, instead of allowing their work to speak for them. I did not feel like he rushed, and I could see by the look on his face that he was taking great care with attention to my brow shape. It’s also worth mentioning that the wax Nicck used did not hurt, smell bad, or leave my face sticky at all. During my service we did not talk much, but that did not offend me as I respect and appreciate the need to focus when working. When Nicck was done, he handed me the mirror and I was immediately impressed! Having received the shaping only (without tint) I was doubly impressed by how full Nicck was able to keep my brows. I love the outcome and have already booked my next appointment. Thank you! You made the 5 or 6 months I did not get my brows serviced during the pandemic worth it! I look forward to my October appointment and will be recommending Nicck to anyone who inquires!

This is my first visit at the studio but will most certainly not be my last. Everyone is so very nice and professional. The studio is very clean and the environment is relaxing. I was a little nervous going in to get my eyebrows shaped and tinted because I overplucked so much when I was younger that when I finally grew them back in they were missing spots and very thin. Excellent shaping but the tinting was a waste of money as it didn’t last even for a week. Also when I called to discuss with Nick before my next appointment, I was asked to just come to the appointment and discuss tinting for South Asian skin tone and that Nick is not available over the phone. I've been getting my brows done since I was 14. Considering the thin brow trend was in around that time, I'm surprised I still have any. I've always had thick brows, but with decades of wear and tear, brow waxes that were never right, trying to tweeze them myself because I didn't trust anyone, and having an overall difficult brow to work with in the first place, my once thick, full brows aren't what they used to be. I started coming to Nicck a few years ago after going to a place known for waxing that had given me a wax job that made me fed up. I took a chance and trusted him with my brows. He did a consultation and a few days later, went to work. Over the yearswith Nicck, while my brows haven't fully recovered (we're talking almost 20 years of waxing), they look better than they have since I got them waxed the first time at 14, and they're on their way to being the best brows I've ever had. On top of that he's supportive as you go through the growing process and does his best to help you work through it. I've learned more about my brows and how to care for them because of Nicck. I now feel confident walking out the house without feeling like I have to fill them like I used to. Nicck loves what he does and it shows through his work and his genuine personality. God forbid I ever have to find someone else. I'd be lost!

I've been to the shop twice, the first time I'm guessing my time was with Christina? She was excellent, I booked for a tweeze/shape and she suggested I might be happy with tinting as well so I excitedly added that service on (not even realizing I would normally have to book that separately) and I was THRILLED with the results. She was so great, patient and asked me about my brow shaping and what I liked. The next time I came in I was excited to see Nick for my waxing, but was disappointed in the service. He was very dismissive to me overall and seemed annoyed at the few questions I asked. He didn't ask me about any shape, didn't suggest a brow tint (completely understand maybe he didn't have time to do it since I didn't book for one) but didn't even fill in my brows with a pencil, which I was surprised by since Christina did. Again maybe I got lucky with Christina and they don't normally "fill in" with pencil, but either way I was disappointed. I wasn't as happy with my brows this time around, and when I offered a tip he seemed insulted (wasn't aware he doesn't accept tips). Overall, his demeanor was kind of a turn off, and I wasn't as wowed by his skill as I was with his assistant. Will be trying again in a few weeks/months and would love to update this review with a better experience!
