I graduated from the Academy and I had a great experience! All the educators Were very knowledgeable and taught me so much on many levels. Which I still carry with me to this day! The atmosphere, all the patrons I was able to work on, and how versatile the school is, was a great advantage. I appreciate how well prepared i was for state board And to get out in the field. I have watched the academy grow and i decided I wanted to come back to educate and give back to this industry. I adore educating and sharing my knowledge, helping the students be the best they can be! Sharing tricks of the trade. Currently I have been teaching the nail program and its so rewarding seeing how amazing and well they excel! Their work always amazes me and I’m so proud of them. I wanted to share the amazing talented work they have done striving on their way to success!

When I walked in for my tour Mr. John was so funny and full of information. Watching the girls/guys work on actual people got me excited. I joined back in Nov of 2020 and I just graduated this month. I loved every minute of my time at AHD, after 18 months I learned so much that has made me comfortable to say I'm ready for the world. I was working a full time job when I started and going to school would help relieve all the stress from the day. Mr. Matt is an amazing teacher!! I don't think i could ask for more. Thank you AHD for having my back and making me feel like it was a home.

I went to Academy of Hair Design in 2015 to get my cosmetology license, after that I went to barber school on the crossover course that helped me get my Master Barber license. I officially finished my first year of working independent this year. AHD was the first step in my career and I am happy I did go there, I was able to study different aspects of the beauty industry to find out where I wanted to be. The school gave me my first pair of clippers and that’s when I knew I wanted to be a barber. I was able to take the knowledge of haircutting techniques and understanding the skin from AHD with me into my Barber career. If it wasn’t for the school, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I got tricks & tips from everyone regarding hair regrowth but most important to me was that all parties worked well together & remained helpful & very nice. I have a lot of respect for the students and instructors at this academy. I got my hair bleached and toned to a butter blonde which is what I asked for. My hair ended up pulling all the grey out of the first toner that was applied which about gave me heart failure, but they removed it easily and corrected my hair. They didn’t eat or rest until I left happy.

When I got here I was told the evening crew would be in at 5:15pm so which means I had to wait an hour. I decided to leave and come back because I had an appointment I had to go to. When I came back my hairdresser was assigned to me. Her name is Delsyv. In my mind I was like oh my gosh I hope she’ll understand my hair and take good care of it because I really I’m nervous on the inside and hoping I don’t go home with hair that I’m not gonna be happy with. Welp, ladies and gentlemen… as I got to the shampoo bowl, let me just say this… it was AMAZING!!! This Delsyv with the hands of an Angel. She understood the assignment without even been told. She made my stands feel like I was in an expensive spa. My hair and scalp thanks her greatly. I was very impressed. After getting my hair pampered and washed I was ushered to get my hair blow dried. Let me say this again AMAZING!!! This lady work quickly, gently, and perfectly well. I’m giving this lady high praise because she truly deserves it. I think she was born with it. Her hands are like butter, I didn’t feel them as she worked on my hair and scalp. Delsyv Is definitely going places and I know this. I hope when she leaves beauty school she’ll have hundreds of clients knocking on her studio/ shop wanting get their hair done. When you go make sure you ask for her. I’m not sure how long she’ll be at this beauty school but I tell you, they’re lucky to have her there.

In May if 2022 I made the spur of the moment decision to go back to hair school. I am current licensed Esthe and Salon owner. The enrollment process was quick and easy and found myself enrolled into the Hair Design Program to start July of 2022. What I love most about the hair program is the ever constant live models we got to work on to get us more comfortable in working on live scenarios as if we are already out in the real world hair floor. It is January 2023 and I am now a proud graduate of AHD.

I have been coming here for years to get my haircut and have nothing but positive things to say about this school. From the students, to the instructors, to the staff, and the service... I mostly always have a great experience. The few times I've had a problem, they have made things right. I don't know too many businesses that do that these days. You can tell the school is well run by the owners. My daughter wants to go to cosmetology school one day and this is the school I will be sending her. She also had a friend that enrolled in school here and really enjoyed it!

This school is one of the best choices I made, I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for this school, I came in thinking I was gonna just gonna do hair and ended up being a makeup artist 💄 and hairstylist 💇🏻‍♀️. I’ve already had experience Doing makeup on myself and some hair styling. But going to this school gave me the courage and confidence to do makeup on other people and to elevate my career. I did a tour to Paul Mitchell and it wasn’t for me it was snobby and not welcoming in my opinion as soon as I walked in there people were rude. And Aveda was all about their natural products and also their vibe wasn’t welcoming at all. At academy of hair design they were welcoming from the beginning and were willing to help me out and answer any questions I had. Also the staff was great and it was more hands on when it came to being on the floor and doing clients. My overall experience at The Academy of Design was amazing. I was skeptical and nervous about stepping out on faith but I did it and I would not change it for anything. What I enjoyed the most was all of the hands on training that was provided while being here. In three short months I was already graduating and I was feeling as confident as ever. I do not believe if I had went anywhere else I would be as equipped as I am today. I am grateful for the relationships and connections that I have made along the way. This is a great school to get your hair done at a good price. I found a wonderful student who has been doing my hair for the last few months. They have a senior day (65+) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The students are supervised. This school provides hair, nails and facial treatment services. Call ahead for times of client service.

Thank you AHD for setting me up for success and providing the tools and education that I needed to be the stylist that I am today. The passion and the collective years of experience between the teachers and stuff is unmatched. Nobody promised me it would be easy but if I wanted a positive school experience I needed to show up on time, work hard, study, and stay motivated. I took their advice and the year that I was in school flew by and I enjoyed everyday that I was clocked in. This school is "not an easy way out" or just "cosmetology school." If you want to be successful in this industry then you are expected to put in your time and try your best with everything. My teachers were always willing to help when I needed it, always encouraging, and they pushed me out of my comfort zone which only helped me grow. If you want to learn hair, skin, nails, or all 3 and you're serious about your education this is your school. They have such a large walk-in clinic you are able to get a ton of hands-on practice rather than working on a mannequin all day. Leave the bad attitudes, laziness and cattiness at the door and come on in for an amazing education! 10/10 recommend the AHD :)

I’ve been coming here for a variety of beauty services off and on for more than 10 years. In some years I’ve had friends who took their program and I have visited those friends and then continued coming here after my friends graduated. There is usually a nice older woman who runs the front desk. But this time, for the first time that I’ve been here there’s a younger woman working the front desk who is incredibly rude and unhelpful. I can honestly say that if this rude front desk lady was here before I would not have continued to come back. The services from the students are pretty good but the attitude from the girl working the desk is unnecessary, and unappealing.

The staff and the students are absolutely wonderful. From the moment you walk into the school, you see how professional the staff is and how clean the establishment is. The students are very courteous and attentive, the teacher’s are constantly walking around and asking the clients if they are happy with the services they are receiving as well as offering tips to the students to make certain that your experience is the best that it can be. Considering the fact that this is a school you might be worried that you may end up with a bad haircut, color service or a nail or skincare service but that’s never been an issue. It’s actually the opposite. The teacher’s watch over the students and pay attention to the services that you are receiving. I highly recommend that you come in and get a makeover. The prices are so affordable you can’t help but want to go in as often as possible.

I graduated from this amazing school in September of 2019. I received the best education money can buy. The instructors are always willing to help and are always teaching you new modern techniques. The big thing that helped me become the great stylist I am today is the fact that we constantly are working on the public. Working with a variety of people helped me in a lot of ways, it taught me how to communicate better and how to listen which is a big part of this industry. The clients are so patient with you and are understanding. The atmosphere in this school is great and friendly. All the students are willing to help with anything you need so not only are you learning from teacher but from your fellow students and you get to learn multiple ways to do things! You get a lot of support while your here. They give you every possible resource to use while you are attending. I am now employed here and it is just as great! They treat everyone they meet like family. When we were forced to close down due to the Covid-19 they offered the students distanced learning which basically means the students were able to complete their theory hours online at home. They were able to text or call their teachers anytime they needed help. The teachers constantly were checking in on students to make sure they understood every thing they were learning at home. The education experience and love you will receive here outstanding.

He was extremely pleasant, answered all my questions and gave me exact directions. When I arrived, I was greeted by a woman at the desk, Brandy, who was extremely pleasant and helpful. The student that provided my color correction was named Samantha. Both she and Ms. Suzie did an excellent job, explaining the entire process. I came in today to get service spoke with the owner. It was my mistake in not speaking with him when the problem happened last week the matter has been cleared. ok, i live nearby the school, been going there periodically for 5 yrs or so. i go cause i save a few bucks on a simple haircut for a guy, but think about it, people who give bad reviews are expecting too much for what gets charged there. that being said, the staff and students there are very serious about being profesional and learning their trade. i have had great haircuts there, and really great haircuts also. the students and teachers take their time maybe cause they want to do their best (i get very sleepy) but if you are a lady who wants to get a full on carmen miranda and have it be perfect, go to the bank and get a loan and go to beverly hills

It sounds like your an unprofessional person in the way in which you present yourself on your review. Hence you don't know how to spell. Maybe you should take an educational class for English so you can fully understand the expectations of what is require when attending a school. I've attended school here and received services with exponential service. If your service was done incorrectly the staff and students make it right so you leave a satisfied customer.
