I had such an amazing experience getting my hair done by Phase II student, Kaelynn. My hair heavily needed some TLC and I’m so glad that Kaelynn got me there. She glossed, cut & trimmed, and blow dried & styled my hair and the results were … just WOW. I couldn’t contain my excitement, I’m so proud of the work she did with my hair. It’s such a fast paced environment with lots of training students, but for the price and for the practice the students get, I would say this visit was well worth it.

Ariel 6838 did an amazing job taking care of my hair. I went in for a braid down so I can install hair since they don’t allow weave. She suggested that I have my ends clipped next time, gave suggestions for products for my curly hair, and she was gentle with my hair because I had just took braids out 4 days prior. She didn’t braid them tight to pull out my hair or have my skin bubbling, she braided it tight enough for it to last me at least a month 😁❤️💜 try her out

This was my first time at the Paul Mitchell school. I have natural hair that I’m heat training every 2 weeks. Shout out to Gina - she HOOKED me up. My hair looks amazing and it’s super healthy. Basically got a silk press with deep condition - this place offers incredible quality and an *insanely* low price. Gina ~ I so appreciate you service. I had just gotten my haircut at JC Penney, and the lady there did an awful job. It was completely choppy and uneven. I walked into Paul Mitchell and explained what happened and Victoria fit me in immediately. She was super sweet, communicated very well and told me exactly what she was doing to my hair. 10/10 recommend!

As a former student who sadly couldn’t finish due to dealing with my own personal problems I love everyone here. They always made me feel so welcome and still I love to go back and say hi to everyone. It truly is a family like environment. Got my hair done there yesterday and the instructors seemed to be incredibly helpful with my cousin who was also my stylist. I look amazing now. It’s also really affordable. I regret everyday dropping out, hope I get the opportunity to come back as a student one day.

This was my first time at the Paul Mitchell school. My first stylist 6154 was limited in her cornrow braiding ability due to nail length. To be fair, I didn’t schedule in advance so in the future I will give the school a heads up if I need a braiding service. Fortunately, 6154 was resourceful and asked student 6141 for his assistance. I was pleased with his level of engagement, and braiding technique. Both stylists recommended products based on my hair type and overall I was pleased with the experience.

It’s my first week and i feel do at home. The culture will lighten you day for sure. The Paul Mitchell Kit is great quality and what I love most is the dedicated staff has to both the curriculum and the students. On my first day, I received a warm welcome and as I finished my day, my car wouldn't start but the staff and students both helped jump my car and I was on my way home. They are so helpful in all they do and instill the same togetherness in their students. Best decision I've ever made, I can’t wait to spread my wings.

I’ve been coming to Paul Mitchell for 3 years they always do an amazing job especially for the price. I had Sarah (6040) she did an excellent job with coloring touch up for my roots, deep conditioning, cutting and blow drying it out. She was very sweet and helpful with proving me hair care tips. I’ve a lot of hair so it took awhile to blow dry but she was so patient with me. I also brought my mom with from out town, my mom had Tyra Ned (5975). She did a color, deep conditioning and blow dry style for my mom. My mom loved her hair - we wanted it to look voluminous and she did an amazing job, my mom is picky about her hair but loved how it turned out!! I’ll be back again!

they did a great job on cut and color. took a really long time because other people kept coming up and talking/gossiping. 3 stars because it was so loud and they were screaming and clapping about 7 different times (people graduating) but it almost made me have a panic attack.

I have had friends that have went through the Paul Mitchell school and i go to school so i was familiar with the ideals behind the discounted price and learning experience. I was really pleased (still am) with the results. I came in with really long hair (about 30 inches) and i was able to work with the leading instructor and the students to obtain the results i was looking for. I think the price was fantastic like everyone else has said, it will take you awhile!!! (I had highlights, low lights, and the rest of my hair toned to a cool brown) The process took about 5 1/2 hours with the help of 3 students, we were finished. I can't complain about the time, because i knew that going in there. I was and still am very happy with my results, i will be going back in tonight for my follow up appointment to keep me looking right. Johnny was very good to me, which i believe he will be graduating soon :'( and T (she graduated last week i believe or a couple of weeks ago.) She was exceptional. All in all, i felt very comfortable and happy with the results. Ill be a customer for awhile.

UPDATE: I went back to the salon for a redo spiral perm yesterday 1/22. It looks great, Thank you for making it right. Ashley did a great job. I had a spiral perm. It took forever to complete. They did give me a discount which was nice. I waited for 5 days before I washed my hair. Each days I could tell that my perm did not take. I was out of town through Christmas and New Year. I kelp calling and leaving messages or getting voicemail. When I finally got a live person to make an appointment, I asked if I had to pay anything. I was told that I had to pay for the perm. I had to cancel my appointment because I dont have the money. I understand this is a learning school. I am just upset.

Taylor and my daughter talked liked they knew each other in a past life. Such an easy person to communicate with and very funny. We told her what we wanted and she delivered! The instructor was very nice as well, she welcomed me as "mom" and never made me feel like I was in the way.

Great first experience here with Brittany. For $15 (she was a level 1 student about to move up), I got an amazing scalp massage with my shampoo. The lavender scented products smelled amazing! I just wanted a simple trim and I got it. She also educated me some on the health of my hair and how processes, etc. can impact this. I'll be back!

I have been going to Paul Mitchell for the past 2 years and I have not had any terrible experiences. The students have all been nice, and if they did not know how to correctly cut my hair, they have always gotten the teachers involved. After every other stylist I have gone to has tried to convince me to color my gray, Paul Mitchell finally got me to do it. The color is natural, which is what I was looking for. I have let the stylist try different styles with my hair and I have never been disappointed. I always remember to bring a book, so time is not an issue.

I have to admit, I went in a bit skeptical, but trying to think positive thoughts. I had called and explained my situation, that I was looking to get my hair colored for my upcoming wedding, because I was at a budget. Lauren in Phase 1 was assigned to my hair, along with another girl (but she really wasn't involved in the process at all). I started off by explaining my fear because the last time (a year ago, for my birthday), I had gone to Supercuts (BAD IDEA) and they BUTCHERED my hair-I left in tears and scarred. I also explained to Lauren I had a huge fear because of that and that I was getting married in a couple of weeks and I wanted my hair to look AMAZING. I had some ideas of what color I wanted, and eventually we decided on a color and she set to work. My appointment was to begin at 1:30pm, and so I was there from 1:25-4:30pm. Yes, I was there for awhile for a simple color BUT first off, they are students, so they are still in training. Lauren was really great with conversation and we talked like old friends, and of course I wanted her to do a good job. I didn't mind the time frame at all; plus she washed and dryed my hair. It wasn't the exact color I had in mind but I LOVED my hair! I still do! I gave Lauren a hug for making my wedding day just a little bit more special to look forward to. I went to pay and they decided not to charge me for the extra color they used and since today is my birthday, they gave me 1/2 off of my service. So it was quite generous. I will definitely be back-this is my go to place from now on! Ask for Lauren in Phase 1!!!!!!

I've been here three times, and have had on overall good experience. Every time I've been, I've gotten a wash, flat-iron and trim. The last time I went, the instructor told the student to cut my hair while it was wet and curly. Although I only wanted a trim, the student ended up cutting off far more hair than I expected. I went from about 30 inches of hair to 18. I was unhappy with this experience, but I understand that they are still in school and learning.

I just went Las night. April 23rd. Appointment was at 5:45pm. I left around 9:00pm. Yes, it was double the amount of time a non school salon would take. However, I've never met a smarter, eager to learn, putting more time and energy into her craft young lady. I have a bob style, very fine, and easily tangled. I had several stubborn greys around my forehead, and right ear. I knew this was going to be a challenge to her. The color is much better than I could do at home. A reddish, chocolate brown. I needed a cut also. It was about 2" but I have layers. Yes, I got tense when instructors were showing her how to cut at an angle. I wanted to give my stylist good vibes and encouragement. It took a long time, but the results are worth it. She really cared about the styles a bob can do. So, be patient with the stylist. They are human beings! I think this young lady has a bright future.

Ok so here's the deal with Paul Mitchell the school. It's a great way to save money on getting your hair done. The prices are discounted because students in training are working on your hair instead of fully licensed professionals. They do have the floor instructors come around to inspect their work and to ask questions, but honestly it's mostly you and the student. I have never disliked my hair after getting it done here. Will it take them forever to finish your hair? Yes! Sometimes, it is painfully slow for them to finish. Also, scheduling a service is a true nightmare. The front staff pick and choose when to answer the phone. Parking is a big issue too as most of the spots for customers are taken by students first. Be prepared to park closer to Chulas and have to walk back to Paul Mitchell. I wanted to give 3.5 stars, but the rating must be in full star amounts. Overall, I would get my hair done here again but only if i literally have all day to spend and no important places to be.

I had my haircut done by a phase 1 student. The student Lucia gave me a neat haircut. She was constantly supervised and monitored by her instructor Victoria, till the end. Given that she is a student in her early phase the cut took a long time (abt 2.5 hrs) to finish the haircut and blow dry. But otherwise, she was careful and keen to do a neat job. I would love to go back to check out what a phase 2 student has in store. I recommend Paul Mitchell School to everyone.

He was very informative detailing every product he used and described a basic knowledge of the way hair cells grow and what they respond positively to versus what's really in over the counter shampoos and how they can damage certain types of hair. I forget that I have to remind myself that every time I come here I have to wait an extra 15 mins outside my “appointment time”. they said I would be going with one girl and then the last second I’m going with someone else. Which I don’t mind because I love my haircut. But I also didn’t like that she didn’t get a new towel after washing my hair then draped it around my neck and it made my entire back wet. Although this is a school and all of these girls are students it doesn’t seem like there is much structure to their learning they just seem like they’re either sitting around on their phone or doing each others make up.

I've been 3 times and the main thing that sticks out to me is that they will cancel your appt if you're 10 minutes late but each time I've gone, I've had to wait at least 20 - 30 minutes before going back. It wouldn't be so bad if the receptionist would give you a heads up but they don't update you and if you ask about the wait, they give a bit of an attitude. So give yourself enough time, they are students and their work has been decent... you know I think it depends on if the student wants to be there are not. If you have the time I would recommend it.

There is immeasurable difference between phase 1 and phase 2 stylists. When I book my appointments its "Phase 2 or bust"! The phase two stylists are the honor, elite, future professionals. I had the pleasure of having Safa (student ID 154) as my hair stylist. The services performed were triplex keratin treatment and a cut. The floor educator Ally was hands on with her phase 2 students and is very driven on providing them with tools to succeed in the cosmetology market. Safa gave me tips on how to maintain healthy hair and suggested Paul Mitchell products for hair health. She is very social, personable, and my session just flew by. I'm only giving 4 stars due to the Keratin Treatment they offer is not what it seems. It is just a treatment for the hair not the "relaxer" that keeps hair straight for 4-6 weeks. The receptionist should know the difference and they didn't. After they had already done the treatment $25 + $10 for 2 more ampules) they discovered that we were thinking it was the straightening kind and then was explained that there are two different kinds of Keratin applications. The instructor did knock off half of my bill for the confusion. The stylist Koryn didn't get my daughters hair as straight and flat as it should have been but overall it was an ok experience. These stylist are way overbooked and considering the fact that they are "students" they need much more time in between appts. Walked in at 945am for my appointment and an African American girl checked me in. Very disgruntled and not happy to be there. She asked for my name and told me to have a seat, I turned around and all the seats were taken and looked at her for advice and she just turned back around. Normally at every salon I've been to there have been friendly front staff members waiting to greet me. I observed how the other girls were checking people in and they were much friendlier.. I would consider her whereabouts with the company if they want have happy guests. Anyway, I waited for about 30 minutes before I even got talked to about where my stylist was then 45 minutes later I got seated in her chair................ FIRST OF ALL I'M REALLY NOT SURE WHY THIS "ANONYMOUS" PERSON HAD TO MAKE SURE AND MENTION RACE... HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO EVEN TELL WHAT NATIONALITY THIS YOUNG WOMAN WAS?... SHE DIDNT LOOK AFRICAN AMERICAN TO ME?.... Initially I thought this was a school where liscensed professionals went to perfect their skill. It's not. These students are in the process of becoming liscensed. I had a phase 2 stylist, these are the ones about to graduate. I had a great experience. It wasn't absolutely perfect but it was really close to it. I am blonde with dark roots. I added in highlights to blend the roots and trimmed my hair to remove dead ends. Nothing too fancy.
