My two kids, ages 9 and 11, got haircuts with Sandra today. She was great! Super nice to my kids. My younger kid is quite an animated person but she was still super nice to him. Both kids told her what they wanted and she definitely delivered. My older son has lots of cowlicks, but he still gave a great cut. Sandra sold me some pomade that she used on my son's hair, and gave me advice for styling his hair effectively. Today was our first time at this barber. Their shop is pretty small, but both ladies who were working there (Sandra and I believe Pat) are super nice people and give great cuts. I watched Pat give a gentleman a cut and it looked fantastic! I highly recommend Vintage Barber.

Courtney trimmed and shaped up my beard in a way I certainly never could. Short story- retired from military a couple of years ago, each winter I grow my beard out. I'd try and trim it myself based on YouTube tutorials, etc. Never really got the results I wanted. Come springtime, I'd shave it off. Problem solved; Courtney, at the Greenbrier location, absolutely produced the results I wanted. Now I have my go-to beard trimming barber. I may even keep the beard after wintertime. PS: I did the online booking and it worked out fine.

This was my first visit here. I usually go to Vintage Barber co. in Portsmouth Churchland area and I've always had great cuts there but they were booked up today. So I took a chance on this location. Sandra cut my hair and couldn't have done a better job. She was very professional and talked me through everything she was doing and made sure I was completely happy when I left. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming they even offered me a beer! To top it off a stranger at the 7-11 I stopped at afterwards complimented my cut 🤙 I will most definitely be back

Husband gets his haircut & beard services here. Alannah is his barber, great cut each time. Shop is clean and has a old time feel which is great! Some seating available but can be limited personally don't mind. Parking is available in front usually. Overall what more can you ask for? Knowledgeable barbers, product options for style, quick and friendly.

Very nice experience. Definitely vintage feel inside the shop. Outside you wouldn't expect it. Heads up it's CASH ONLY. The barbers are easy to talk to and definitely don't waste your time or theirs. It's nice to have a shop that cares about how you look and feel and they take pride in their skill. Not many places offer a straight razor shave anymore but they do.

Great place, my go-to for the past year for haircuts. Small, clean, old school looking place that allows walk-ins and very friendly staff. So far, their barbers are good enough to the point where I don't need to request a certain one, but I do have to admit, I forget the ladies name, but I got one of the worst medium skin fades of my life at this place last time. The lady took an extremely long time and the error was so noticeable and easily fixable my jaw dropped when I saw it in my car's mirror. That's not enough to ruin the 5-star rating, however. I recommend this barber shop to all my male friends when they ask for a place to go. Just hope you don't get the lady who did my fade... Forgot to add - Mei is my favorite one there. In terms of professionalism, politeness, skill, she is the best. She takes her time and you can tell she truly cares about her costumers. I've gotten some of the best fades of my life from her, when I do need a top-notch hair cut, I make sure to schedule with her.

Love them, for my fellow military this is the place to go. They do phenomenal fades and have a nice ascetic to the whole show. Haircuts are about 24 bucks but well worth compared to an NEX one. They have you coming out looking like a dapper man.

If you’re looking for a barber shop that you can trust with consistency and professionalism, stop looking. This is the place to go no questions asked. I had Mei cut my hair and will be returning to her every time. All the barbers are very good at keeping straight lines and providing you with the exact cut and look you are wanting. I won’t go to a different barber again. I have found my place to go.

Alannah is outstanding. Let me explain why, Three weeks ago I was working on a job in Chesapeake and needed a hair cut badly. I went in as just a walk in and was greeted by Alannah. She was unbelievably nice and welcoming and gave an amazing haircut and beard trim with great conversation and humor. Very proffesional in her craft and knew exactly what I wanted and made it happen. The tricky part is I almost live two hours away... however, that was not going to stop me from making an appointment online with her(very easy) and making the trip down. Again today I was greeted with great humor and a even better haircut and beard trim. I have received haircuts all over the country and normally takes a couple times with a new barber to get it right her though.... first time and every time has been great. Thank you. As long as she is cutting hair at the business I will be making the drive for her!

I recently moved to the area and was in search of a legit barber. The online appointment system was straightforward, and vintage feel (yes, it’s in the name) was perfect. Courtney did a great job with my straight razor shave. I often end up with irritation on my neck, but not this time; Courtney killed it! I’m looking forward to my next haircut. Remember, it’s a cash only place. If you forget, no worries, they got you covered with an ATM.

My first visit and it was a great experience in every respect. I booked with Alannah and she was very prompt and friendly. I have very thick and wavy hair that has gotten more difficult to cut since it turned gray. And I also have cowlicks on top of cowlicks between growth lines that defy any reason in the natural world. Alannah was patient and took time to offer what she felt was a good cut. And it’s simply the best, most precise and flattering haircut I have had in recent memory. On a handsome guy you could call it exactly that haha. She also trimmed my beard and cleaned it all up with a straight razor so the result was impeccable. And she also offers great conversation while doing it all. I realize that New York phone books are shorter than this review. But I simply can’t say “it was good” and do her and Vintage Barbers justice without taxing your reading skills. I will most certainly be back!

Have been looking for a barber for my 10 year old son for awhile, and finally found a place that doesn’t screw his hair up & they do a fantastic job! Have been twice now and we love it. The woman that cut his hair Sunday did a great job and she took the extra time to teach my son how to style his new cut. And show him. Great people and very cute Shop. I went in for a beard trim (had a thick, heavy beard) and I was very happy with the outcome. Mei did a great job! Had I not recently gotten a haircut, I would have stayed and gotten one. The service was fantastic and I really liked how the barber shop was set up. It felt like I stepped back in time a little and I thought that was really cool, as I'm somewhat old school myself. Very good experience each and every time that I go. I personally have long hair and it always comes out amazing, but I do see a majority of other clients with much shorter and/or military style cuts. This is definitely more of an old school style shop that just takes care of business.

This place is awesome! I'll start with the atmosphere. I'm a huge fan of the 50s image. I like that they keep it old school. Now the Barbers. They are absolutely fantastic! The Barber we always go to, is Cheryl. She is a perfectionist when it comes to haircuts and that's what I admire. I felt that the other salons or haircut places were just so chaotic. This place is opposite and very relaxed. Highly recommend Vintage Barber!

I took my son here to get a haircut and beard trim before his Senior Prom. He is super picky about his hair and has yet to find someone who can style it like he likes, until now! Mei did an awesome job and he was super happy about it!! They definitely have a repeat client in my so. FYI though, they are a cash only business (ATM onsite) and it's best if you make an appointment because they can get very busy.

Not sure what the review below me is all about (but looking at the profile's review history, it seems to be just about complaining), because this is the ONLY place I'll ever let cut my hair or trim my beard (ESPECIALLY the loud one with the cop patches). A lot of my friends get their hair cut here as well. Vintage Barber is a great place that has never let me down. It's a popular place, which is why I book early. You should too!

So, I went to Vintage Barber shop to get a nice haircut. I walked in and sat down to wait. I was watching the barbers and really liked the quality of one of the barbers. Mei was very nice and made sure I liked what she was doing. I got a very nice fade, and the haircut overall was excellent. It was one of the best haircuts I have gotten in a while. I recommend going to this Barber shop and asking for Mei.

I normally love the experience here. Well qualified barbers with lots of experience. Every time Benita has cut my hair, it has come out fantastic, my haircut from a new guy today was definitely less than ideal. Jagged, and one side is half as long as the other. He didn’t really listen to what I wanted. However, one mediocre experience doesn’t take away from the countless positive ones. This is a wonderful establishment and I would recommend seeing any of the barbers here for a fantastic haircut.

Second time going to Vintage Barber. First experience was not too good. Only accepts cash and waited for almost and hour. Upon leaving, they said that the best way to get in and out was to call ahead and schedule an appointment. I did that this time. Brought cash and was in and out in 30 mins with a fresh haircut and neck shave. Price isn’t bad. I’m the kind of guy that doesn’t really want to talk while getting my haircut. They do what they gotta do and that’s it. Only reason why 4 stars is bc they don’t do card. Highly recommend!!

It's a very small shop, and the ladies are all very friendly. My only regret is that I wish I had known about them earlier. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Very cool urban atmosphere in this barber shop, with southern style and and an old-school feel. Great staff and family-friendly. It really reminds me of a small town barber shop, everyone was so friendly and they seem to have a lot of regulars in the military / Police community. Quiet Mami I don't know what you're referring to. This great Barber and Cosmetologist has been working her magic on my hair for many years. She is not only innovative at what she does but a very kind gentle soul. She's a mother of three and would never think to be rude to anyone. I love this Barber shop. All of their employees are GREAT. Awesome place. Best damn haircut had in a long time. They even offered me a beer while I waited for my turn. I should have made an appointment they were rather busy. But I didn’t mind waiting. I've always given up on my beard in the early stages because it just doesn't look right. So I went into this shop for some advice on how to groom my beard to look good with the way my facial hair grows. Patty did an excellent job on shaping it up and compelling me to keep it. All of the employees were very friendly and provided a benevolent atmosphere. I already scheduled my next appointment. Highly recommend!

Walked in here on a Friday late AM to get my 10 yr old grandson a style cut, 2 of 4 barbers were available. We ended up with Kim, and she handled the job with expertise. She was personable, caring, and meticulous which resulted in an outstanding cut on my grandson. Even got his first "shave" (on the neck). Loved the well put together vintage atmosphere & Motown tunes in the background. High regard shown for Military, LEO, Fire & EMT, an added plus. Easy-in easy-out. Fortunately he only gets it cut every few months as price was a *bit* more than I expected for a kid cut (22) but otherwise highly recommended. I would definitely use Kim's services again.

I absolutely love this place! If you are looking for an amazing haircut and want your beard pampered like it deserves, then this is the place to go. They take walk-ins but you can also make an appointment with your favourite barber online. This is a cash only shop but they do have a pretty fancy ATM.

I've been here a few times and had some great cuts. There is a caveat however. Call first! Make an appointment or you're going to wait. Why, because they're that busy. The staff is super friendly and everyone know's what they're doing. Also you can have a drink while you wait. Easy 5 five stars.

I brought my son in for a haircut having had poor experiance at other places my friends recommended vintage barber so I gave it a whirl! Upon walking in nobody really wanted to take him because his hair was so long. But the lady Jo jumped right to the challenge. She did an amazing job with my five year old son. He can't stop looking at himself in the mirror! I will continue to have Jo cut my son's hair for now on I loved her calm confidence, and pride she took in cutting his hair!

This place is an old school barber shop. For only a couple bucks more than a chain salon- you get the real deal. The chairs are probably older than most of their customers. Appointments are best but they do accommodate walkins. The online reservation system is a nice addition.

This place kicks ass! Seriously, it is what it claims to be. An old school vintage barber shop. There's only 4 barbers so you have to call in to get an appointment or get lucky with a walk in. I got a really nice razor fade done by Lindsey (forgive me if I spelt that wrong), the perfect military cut, she blended 0 and razor lengths into a uniform gradient, no lines whatsoever. I was very impressed. Definitely worth checking out at least once. Oh and bring cash, they don't take card. Had to run accross the street to an atm...

Never been the kind of guy that paid attention to haircuts....go in shaggy, come out shorter and it's all good. THEN....I got referred to Andrea. Wow! Seriously came out looking like a new man. Wife's never been happier, and I actually look forward to going in for a trim. If you have a beard/mustache, she is an EXPERT! Best place to get a haircut in chesapeake. Normally not a long line, but I would reccomend making an appointment. Very relaxing old school vibe, and they can do haircuts of all styles. Just remember to bring cash as the font accept cards.
