I highly recommend this place. Chris has been cutting my hair for a few months now and always does a clean job. It’s very easy to get an appointment. He cuts it how you want it. This place is the best I’ve been to in Seattle. Chris and the other barbers are cool and down to earth guys. The shop has a nice set up with old barber/fishing signs. The shop dog is a good boy and always greets you when coming/going. They’re active on Instagram so you can check out their recent cuts.

I went to see Nate today for the first time and I can honestly say I think I got the best haircut I've ever had. The shop has a great vibe, really nice barbers. Chris Martinez is amazing! My 88 yr old dad has always wanted a hot towel shave, but never has ... until yesterday! He has not had the energy to shave in quite some time and was not happy with the scruffy old man look. Chris was so kind, patient, and gentle. Dad took a couple of cat naps while Chris worked. Andrew has been my barber for over a year now and he always does such a great job. As a queer and trans person, Andrew and the rest of the barbers, do a great job to make me feel comfortable and welcome - in a space that is known to be men exclusive. Even when cis male clients may be caught off guard by my presence, the Assembly barbers do a great job at including me in conversations and show an assertive example of the inclusion they embody as a shop. I get a straight edge and hot towel treatment every time with my cut and always feel a confidence lift when I leave.

I brought my nephew in a few weeks ago and Calvin gave him the best haircut! My nephew is 5, insists on watching YouTube while his hair is being cut, and wiggles like a fish! Calvin took it in stride! He was patient, friendly and kind. He treated my five-year-old nephew like “one of the guys” even though he had to use the booster seat! It made him feel so good to be treated like a big kid and his hair cut looked amazing! Highly recommend!

I've been going here since they opened and Andrew is one of the best barber's I've ever had. Everyone in the shop is great and I always feel at home. Gus the French Bulldog is always a pleasure to run into when he's there. Now that I have to commute into town for my appointments, I've never had a problem finding parking and it's cheap right now! Very happy with my haircut, the hot towel and cologne finish. Got the games on the TV, neat antiques and collectibles, stuff to look at, shop is clean and squared away. I have been going to Chris for my haircuts for the past 2 years. I have fairly straight hair with a few cowlicks, so not the easiest to cut. He is able to give me a clean cut, with a taper so I still have the ability to style it on top and it is not messy on the sides. My hair length fluctuates between 3-6 inches and always seems to grow out while still looking good. I highly recommend Chris!

Last Saturday, my barber cancelled on me the day of my wedding. My wife and I frantically called everywhere with no success. Until we called the guys at Assembly.. even though the website said no walk-ins due to covid protocols, the guy on the phone heard my wife’s frustration and replied “ send him down, we will figure it out.” And that’s exactly what happened, Andrew found a way to squeeze me in between two appointments and somehow made the whole experience feel as if I was an appointment as well. Wasn’t rushed, extremely professional, and banged out an awesome cut I was proud to rock on my special day. Over the past year, it has been awesome to see the resiliency of local businesses and these guys are the epitome of that. They set up shop right before Covid and have found a way to keep the doors open. The place is extremely clean and it is obvious the entire staff is going above and beyond to follow protocols during these uncharted times.
