I was gifted a straight razor blade shave and it dazzled me! I've never had something like that done on me and if you haven't, you need to experience it. With it being my first time, Juice, my barber, was patient with me and explained all the ins and outs of getting a shave. His attention to detail in both explanation and the service itself exceeded my expectations. From the hot rags, to the gentle facial massage, in addition to the shave, brought relaxation to a whole new level. The service lasted roughly and hour and we'll worth the price. I hope to be back in the near future.

I am fairly new to Salt Lake City and have been looking for a really amazing barber for almost a year. I went in this week and had Jon who took amazing care of me. I got my first ever beard wash and straight razor trim, and impeccable haircut and great styling tips and fun conversation. This is by far the best haircut I have had. Really recommend to anyone in the area for all hair and beard needs

Every time I come here I witness nothing but class. These men and women know their way around with a razor. Yes. It’s pricey. But treat yo self. You’ll see it’s worth every penny. You walk in and see these luxurious classic barber chairs, floor to ceiling is covered in either dark, warm wood or spotless mirrors to your left, and you’re greeted with chill music and a sparkling water in your hand. I’ve been coming to see Peaches for awhile now. There are few people I’ve met that I was immediately so comfortable with and I instantly knew “this is an authentic human.” You’ll be treated to either the best conversation you’ve had all month or just relaxing silence if you prefer. But without a doubt, you’ll be treated with utmost professionalism, and a cut and a shave that is unrivaled. This place rules.

I don’t go here to get my cuts myself but I definitely send them clients and friends of mine - it’s a great birthday present! - because they are amazing and their service is awesome!! THE BEST! (See photo with me and one of their clients I’ve sent to them…) I do however buy their oils! They are amazing for beard and smells so yummy but they also work great for my hair!

I took my son here as a walk-in and they were very accomodating about getting us in. Everyone was very polite and professional. Very welcoming environment. I was informed that this was a full-service place and that the price included a cut, warm towel, shampoo, line up with a straight razor and a massage. My son was very excited to have his haircut and to be pampered. He's never had a cut that like before. Unfortunately, he didn't get any of the services that were included in that price except for the cut. I am not sure why. Maybe because he was a kid, but I am not sure. Also, his fade was not blended well and he was left with hair all over his face. I'm sure our experience was a one off as they have very good reviews, but for us it was a disappointing experience especially for the price.

I can see why they are so highly reviewed. Chance took his time and paid close attention to the details. I’m new to the beard game and he was happy to offer pointers and advice on shaping and maintaining the beard so it stays looking great for as long as possible. The place is meticulous and has a great atmosphere. I just want to start off by saying Juice is the man! Had my first visit with City Barbers recently. I’ve never known what to do with my hair and Juice had a very detailed consultation with me. He asked very in depth questions to figure out exactly what it was that I was looking for. Normally barbers take the sides too short and too high in the back which makes my cow-lick act funny. He used clippers in the beginning then redefined the haircut with scissors. Juice was very detailed and focused all while still giving a great service. After the haircut he washed my hair, gave a massage on my shoulders with a massage gun, and straight razor shave on the back of my neck. Once all that was done he then explained how to style my hair so I could do it at home myself. I’m so happy to say that I finally found my own barber! Do yourself a favor and sit with Juice when you visit City Barbers.

There aren’t enough stars to give these guys - I got the best haircut of my life yesterday from Ace and I’m seriously considering flying into SLC for every haircut to come. Jokes aside, these guys are consummate professionals who know how to treat clients right. I was Ace’s last cut, right up against closing time after 9 heads before me, and his energy and enthusiasm were unmatched. City Barbers came highly recommended by a local friend of mine, so I entered with high expectations, but the care and attention to detail were nevertheless astonishing. The service at City Barbers is worth every penny and Ace is the best barber I’ve known. You will not be disappointed!

Original review 04/2017: City Barbers “detail” your hair. Instead of the norm where each barber is incentivized to get their clients in and out, City Barbers makes sure you're completely happy with your hair by spending a good 45 mins to an hour on it. Definitely recommended. UPDATE 1/31/2023: Fletch went off on his own and I followed him for a bit but there were some things he just wasn’t delivering on when it came to my haircuts. Ace is amazing and will give you tons of value, quality detailed haircuts, and good conversation (if you want). Though he was getting a little pricey for me, he delivers on the cost 10/10 times. One of the best for sure.

She is seriously so fantastic she will answer any questions or concerns you have comfortably, she did amazing at listing and applying what I wanted done to my hair, and she goes above and beyond with customer service. This is one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. Definitely switching Barbers and will be back to get my hair cut by Ashley. Morgan (Peaches) is stellar! I went in yesterday for a drastic change from long hair. I'm in a play and needed a classic 1920s-era style. I figured this would be a great place to go for such a change. After a consultation where I shared the overall idea as well as some hair styling challenges I'd had in the past, I felt comfortable letting Morgan take full creative control. I like that she decided on a style that left multiple styling options. The haircut was excellent—I got the biggest smile seeing the new style in the mirror. As important as that is, I appreciated just as much that Morgan was thoughtful throughout and was helpful as I asked all sorts of questions about styling tips, products, tools, etc. for day-to-day and performance-specific styling. I’ve gone to city Barbers at least over five or six times now and every time has been amazing. The shop is super clean and professional and an all around good atmosphere. The past two times I’ve gotten my haircut from Ashley and it has to be two of the best haircuts I’ve gotten in a long time. Online booking with Conor “Juice” Nolan was fast and convenient. I arrived for my appointment right on time and was immediately greeted at the door with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. “Juice” invited me to take a seat for what would become one of the best barber shop experience I would have. With minimal description of how I would like the cut to transpire he knew exactly what would be best. The fade is spot on, The trim around the ears was perfect, and the hard part absolutely in line with my hairs natural flow. The attention to detail was flawless. Multiple hot scented towels were applied as I got a wash and rinse that left me feeling warm and pampered. Before finishing off with a quick straight razor line up on my neck and beard (that was also perfect) I was treated to a upper back and neck massage that loosened the tension built up from the week’s vigorous activities. I was then offered me a choice of aftershave or cologne to carry me through the rest of my day not only looking fresh, but smelling fresh. Conor “Juice” Nolan did not only meet my needs but far surpassed what was expected from the moment I walked in until the time I left. A true barber and master of his craft.

Went in during the pandemic for a haircut because my last haircut was done by a butcher, not a barber. Turns out City Barbers was just what my hair needed. The professional I saw was Ashley and she was just that. Wash was great and the shampoo and scalp brush was a great touch. For my cut, I feel I was listened to correctly and it was executed perfectly. My hair has odd cow licks and sometimes people do not work well with it, but Ashley did a great job. Only thing I can complain about is price, but going into it I knew what I was paying for; you get what you pay for.

I've been going to City Barbers since they opened. I've tried a few different barbers, they're all good. You know, however, when you've found YOUR barber. I found mine, her name is Ashley and she's got it all. I did a thing that I know isn't a barber's favorite and went in asking Ashley to tell me what you do and make me look great. She didn't balk. We p8cked a longer style than I've ever done and while she was working set me up on a new routine that cut my hair wash to twice a week it actually worked. The first couple weeks were rough but my hair figured it out just like Ashley said. Now she's my barber for as long as she'll have me. Easy convo, soft touch. Great cut. 10/10 would recommend. 💚💜💙

I was on business travel in Salt Lake City and needed a fresh cut prior to my sales meetings the following few days. Yelp reviews were good so I made an appointment. I’m a Navy veteran and typically get my cuts at barbershops near military bases. Ashley was my first woman barber. I was a wee bit nervous but she was great. I love the cut and total experience. As I mentioned previously I normally go to military barber so my experience with Ashley was definitely a spa resort experience. If you are visiting town ask about prices so there is no sticker shock. I highly recommend if you are looking to treat yourself.

There really isn’t a better place to get your haircut. It’s a sophisticated masculine environment with antique barber chairs and top notch barbers. My got to guy is Stix and he couldn’t do a better job. Today I went in to get a beard trim that was VERY needed and was able to meet Ashley and she did the trim. Wow, what a great job. She was thorough and educated me on how to better care for and style my beard. Going into City Barbers is a great experience. It feels like you’re coming back to see friends or you’re making new one. They really take care of their clients and you don’t feel like you’re being sold a bill of goods. It’s a place for genuine interaction with people who live what they do and are really good at it. Throughout the cut she made artistic recommendations - a tapered neckline, for example - that I never would’ve considered and will be asking for again in the future. After the cut she washed my hair and styled it with a level of care you won’t find anywhere else. Hot towels, scalp massage, etc.! I haven’t gotten a haircut in over a year and I hate getting a haircut, but she made it a great experience (the shampoo alone was worth the fee) I left the shop feeling great and having a great haircut. City Barbers is an excellent place to get your haircut. The store is filled with professionals that are knowledgeable about hair and very talented at cutting hair. Each time I go in I learn something new about my hair and am able to use this information at home to style my hair just how I want it. I have tried 3 professionals in total, Abby, Blaze, and Ashley. I do not know much about hair, and when I share this ignorance with any of these 3 professionals, they are eager to help me through picking a style. Yesterday I got a haircut from Ashley and I can confidently say it is my favorite haircut I have ever had. Just happened to come across City Barbers after I tried to go cheap and got one of the worst haircuts of my life. Being a new customer, I was randomly assigned to Jon and could not be more content with his service. Not only did he fix my hair but has continued to give me amazing cuts for over a year now. It’s great to have a place where the barber is recommending certain styles and products based on your hair and the look you are going for and not just because it’s the most expensive product on the shelf. I like city barbers because of their service, mainly their chair side service. I’ve received beer and restaurant recommendations, movie recommendations, and Jon even recommended a tattoo artist who ended up doing an entire piece for me! Whether you need a beard trim or a full blown haircut you can’t go wrong with city barbers. I’ve had my haircut by three different employees here and they have all delivered the same 5 star service. Will definitely continue to send my roommates, family, and friends here!

Found City Barbers via a business card I found at a restaurant in Salt Lake. I went online and scheduled an appointment with Ashley, who I HIGHLY recommend. She was great; very professional, extremely meticulous, and super talented! She did a great job consulting me before my haircut for the type of cut and style I was looking for. During my appointment she gave advice on healthy ways to take care of my specific hair type, and also educated me on certain products that would be beneficial to maintaining my hair/scalp. Over all, it was a very pampering and enjoyable experience; hot and cold facial wraps, massage-gun therapy on neck and upper-back, and shampoo/condition scalp massage. Also, they were very safe in regards to COVID-19 guidelines. They take your temperature at the door, and I noticed other staff members are constantly sanitizing. If your looking for a clean, professional and talented barber, definitely head down to City Barbers and ask for Ashley - you won’t be disappointed. I’ll be back for sure!

This place is amazing! I left the chair feeling "fresh". Jon was very knowledgeable and coached me how to take care of my hair with the perfect products while I am away from the shop. He also informed me that City Barbers brings in hair professionals from all over the world to continue training with all of their barbers. I was in the chair for just the right amount of time and Jon treated me as if I was his only care in the world. I highly recommend this place if you want to top-notch haircut done the "right" way!

I’ve always had great experiences at City Barber, how could you not?? I’ve had both the classic hour long haircut and have loved the 30minute standard haircut option that they’ve added. It’s great to have the flexibility to choose what works with my schedule and budget. Fletch has been my barber the last couple of visits and he’s fantastic. I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time. I've been getting my hair cut and styled by Fletch since July of this year (2020.) He is truly unlike any barber I have ever had before. Fletch is incredibly knowledgeable and puts the utmost care into each and every cut. He is meticulous with his craft and I have never walked out of City Barbers feeling like I didn't get my money's worth and more. Fletch defines service and elevates it to the nth degree. In addition to being the most educated person I know in regard to hair and scalp health and giving amazing haircuts, Fletch is also a complete blast to chat and spend time with. As I am a queer and trans-masculine person, it can be a daunting task to find a great barber who will cut your hair according to your identity, Fletch doesn't even flinch or bat an eye or question the cut that you want. He is the most accepting and wonderful barber I have ever had. Fletch has always treated me with the utmost respect and I suspect that he is like that with every person he meets. He really listens to what you want out of a cut and style and executes perfectly every time. He goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable, like you matter, and to make a connection with you. City Barbers does a fantastic haircut. I was visiting Salt Lake and went to another shop in town with high reviews, but received one of the worst haircuts of my life. I started asking around for a place that could fix the mess, and City Barbers came up a few times. I called and Johnny, the owner / manager answered. He asked a few questions about what I was looking for and rearranged the schedule to fit me to get a cut from Buster, who he thought would do the best job given my situation. Buster was attentive, personable, and meticulous, and the result was one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I've gone back several times. Most recently, Samantha cut my hair, and she did a fantastic job. So personable and great attention to detail. The business is very well run and impeccably clean, and the staff was very friendly and well-trained. The price is higher than some of the other shops in the area, but the cut and the experience were about the best I’ve had in any city. I highly recommend it.

Being my first time, I wasn’t sure what to expect exactly but the friendly reception I received at the door in addition to just the all around awesome atmosphere of the shop, tossed any hesitancy I had out the window. My barber, Ashley, was amazing. As picky as I am, she was kindly receptive, thorough and focused. The entire staff was welcoming and the full service provided was exactly what I had been looking for what seems like years & years. If you’re curious, I’ll just add that do yourself a favor and book a chair. The amazing full service they provide will make you feel like the gentlemen or lady that you are! I won’t be won’t be going anywhere else anytime soon, facts. Update: I’ve now been going to City Barbers for some time, at least the past 6+ months and my initial review has not changed. In fact, now that I’ve had the pleasure to sit in Austin’s & Juice’s chairs, I will not be going anywhere else. Doesn’t matter who, anyone you speak with in the shop are super awesome. Just an all around amazing vibe. I regularly sit in Austin’s chair any & every time I can. Austin is very focused and takes huge pride in his craft. I have been to many shops over the past few months trying to find a barber that does a good job with my particular hair and styling. City barbers is a little out of my way but decided to make the trip . I was greeted at the door very professionally and was seated to work with Fletch . Fletch instantly pointed out specifics of my hair and profile that made me realize he pays attention to everyone on a case by case basis and cuts hair accordingly to what is best suited to your personal needs. I was trying a new hair style and trying to find some more confidence in my own hair and he took one look at the picture I had for reference and got to work . He was very professional and took pride in his work. After I went home already feeling very pleased with my visit I took a closer look at my cut and saw that his attention to detail left me with an awesome hair cut that indeed has made me feel more confident. Oh and the bottle of “person of interest” cologne I bought there is a top notch product as well. I give city barbers and fletch a 5 star rating and will be my new barber .

Other places I've been I've always walked away thinking there was something off on my hair cut. The beard oil I have from them has really help my beard thicken up too. City Barbers is one of the best - if not the best - barber shops I’ve been to in my adult life. I’ve got my hair cut all over the east coast and west coast yet here I am finding the best quality here in Utah. Make an appointment as this place gets busy but I’ve gone 3 times with no appointment and have got in within an hour. I’ve seen most of the barbers here at this point but Ashley is for sure my go-to. She gives a men’s fade and beard trim like no ones business! Each barber takes a full hour to give you “the treatment”, which includes a wash and scalp massage, along with a massage gun shoulder massage while you get a hot towel cleanse on your face. Literally, a spa treatment for men in 60 minutes for $60 - and worth every penny. If you want a cheap cut and none of the works, go somewhere else! I would spent $100 for this cut, no joke.

I have now been to City Barbers twice and I can confidently say that I will become a regular of this fine barber shop. The atmosphere at City Barbers is absolutely fantastic. They have a great simple and comfortable layout and every one of the barbers is friendly but never overly friendly and pushy. The barbers care about making you look the best that you can and it really shows in their work. Every person i saw get up from a finished cut seemed to beaming by the end. Speaking of my own haircut that I received I went to Evan both times and will continue to go to him. I really like they wash your hair before the cut because then it feels you are getting the best cut without them fighting whatever product you have in your hair. The hot towel then cold towel treatment is fantastic. I also got a beard trim and it was the perfect compliment to my new fresh hair cut. My wife loved it when I walked in the door so I couldn't recommend this place more. Oh and you can schedule appointments online, amazing! If you're not sure who to pick I recommend Evan. TL;DR: Fantastic haircuts/atmosphere, worth every penny.

The atmosphere in the shop takes you out of reality for the time you spend there and makes you forget momentarily about everything else. Every person in the shop is friendly and takes time to personally thank every customer for coming in. My last visit was during COVID-19, and the shop has taken every measure possibly to keep the shop clean, sanitized, and ready to go. This last weekend I visited City Barbers and sat with Juice. He was very detailed and professional. He started with the haircut itself then he gave me a massage with the massage gun all while my head was wrapped in a scented hot towel. Once he finished the massage he shaved the back of my neck and topped the shave off with their signature cologne that they have. He washed my hair with another hot towel on my face while at the wash station. He blow dried my hair to style and topped it off with a nice product that didn’t leave my hair feeling crunchy which has always been an issue with hair products. He then opened the door for me, shook my hand on the way out and thanked me for coming in. It was a truly unforgettable experience!

Very clean shop, they keep to the classic “art” of the barber shop which is really nice. Very antique/old school. For the haircut, you get hot/cold towel treatment accompanied by a quick (60 sec) thumper massage, hair wash (with another towel treatment of your choice), and a quick hair styling lesson. Not to mention the best haircut I have ever gotten. Oh and you’ll smell Good with the colognes/oils they use, which I ended up buying. Honestly I felt like the whole experience is well worth it. Juice is my new barber, which coming from me is saying a lot. Hit him up, he’ll work with you. He takes the shape of your head along with what you want into consideration to make you look 💯💯. Took about an hour, so it doesn’t feel like like they want you in and out really quick to fill some “quota” like other shops do. They realize that their cuts aren’t the cheapest, and hold themselves to a very high standard to make sure you look the best you can. Highly recommend. It’s worth the extra cash you’d pay somewhere else.

I hadn’t gotten a haircut for months due to quarantine, laziness and trying something new. My hair had grown quite long. I knew that I had to find a quality barber. I’ve had a few bad experiences in the past like when I went to Jeds. I also say barber and not stylist because I find that barbers keep it simple. And aren’t experimenting like salons seem to do. I called city barbers on a whim. I just did a google search. I called instead of booking online because that’s my preference. The person who answered the phone said all the barbers are good and gave me which ones were available that day. I was skeptical about them all being good but I like to call a place and get my hair cut day of. So, I went with Luke. He was super polite, chill and listened to what I had to say. I’m a particular / anxious dude about my hair. I don’t even try to hide it. I voiced my concerns, told him about some problems areas like a spot that’s thinning in the front and also asked some questions mid hair cut. Luke was confident and basically said “I got this.” This is a good cut. And he was right. It was everything that I wanted. It’s simple. Stylish. But easy to manage for a guy like me. I don’t like using product and spending a lot of time or effort on my appearance. The best part is that all of my female friends love it! I’ve gotten a lot of compliments. City Barbers is expensive. No doubt about it. But it’s worth it. Because of how the barbers treat you and the cuts they give you. I’ll be getting my haircut from Luke for now on.

Can I say it’s good to feel like yourself again after a long time avoiding getting a haircut out of fear that someone does you dirty and snips you so bad that you have to buzz your head to start over!! WELL THESE GUYS KNOW WHATS UP. Austin was able to work with me on reviving/cutting my hair that made me feel like myself pre-2020. He worked with me on finding a balance between what my hair naturally wanted to do and what we could get away with that wouldn’t be too much to maintain. I could tell he really knew what he was doing and the fact that he took the extra time to work out those issues that I’ve never been able to iron out with any other barber will have me coming back to him and this shop for years. I popped in for a quick haircut while on vacation about a year ago and honestly, the bar has been forever raised. Ever since, I’ve tried to find an option closer to home with similar quality and services but nothing compares anymore. Jon has taken care of me the few times I’ve made it in and I can’t recommend him enough! He listens better than any barber I’ve met and understands what you’re saying even if you don’t know the right words to describe it. Besides that, he’s extremely friendly and personable as well! I had him describe what he was doing and seeing in my hair as he fixed the train wreck left from the last guy, and I was super impressed with his knowledge of my specific hair type and how he cuts it differently than he would otherwise to make sure it lays right. My advice: Don’t come here unless you live nearby, or you’re okay with forever being dissatisfied with every other barber :(

After my barber of 7 years moved out of state, I felt uneasy about finding a new shop, yet alone a new barber to go to. I met Johnny, the owner of the shop outside of the shop and figured I should give City Barbers a chance. OH BABY! Let me tell you it was the best decision I have made recently. I scheduled an appointment online which was quick and easy. I received confirmation not only from the shop about my appointment but also from the barber, Fletch. I was greeted kindly when I came in and was offered water or a coffee which was a nice as Fletch was finishing up with another client. After 10 minutes or so, Fletch introduced himself and asked me how my day was going and mentioned that we hadn't met yet. Again, very personal and felt welcomed into a new environment. Not only was the cut exactly what I was looking for, I got my beard trimmed, full wash and Fletch showed me exactly how to style my hair both with and without product so I could get the same look at home. He also was extremely knowledgeable about how my hair was growing, what shampoo, condition and styling products would work with MY hair. Amazing. A wizard with all his skills. My experience felt personal and tailored to what I needed done. Without a doubt, this was the best experience not only for a haircut, but honestly any service I have received anywhere. World class experience. I plan on returning for the foreseeable future.

Sam is no longer there as much so I stopped going for a while. But recently went back and just my luck was given to a very talented young woman that goes by BABY. The place very clean, rustic, and clearly taken care of by people who love their job. No one does it better than Fletcher Howell. I have been coming to City Barbers ever since I moved to SLC 2.5 years ago. Having lived in Miami, NYC, and LA, I can personally say that this is one of the best barbershops in the US. They have done a great job of providing an amazing experience every time that you come here to get your haircut. Go. Now. Just do it. Fletch Howell has been taking care of me for close to a year now, and I can’t recommend him or the shop highly enough. He and the entire staff are exceptionally attentive to the little details that make big differences. In my first visit, they took about half an hour to analyze my hair & head to best know how it should be cut and styled. They took time to show me how my hair naturally wants to lay on my head. The hot towels, lovely shaving cream & straight razor shave, and first tier products make for a good haircut. The thoughtful conversation, the barbers’ obvious care for their craft, and the level of service make for a great haircut, and a wonderful experience. Yes, it’s pricey, but if you have a cheap head, get a cheap haircut. Worth every penny.

Wow. This place is legit! The products are truly amazing; the beard oil, beard wash, hair products, all high quality. Got my hair cut today from Baby and I was very impressed. I told her what I was looking for and she immediately understood. She asked clarifying questions to be clear and she gave me some invaluable advice about my cow lick. Yes, my cow lick. Sounds like many barbers just kind of chop those off but she educated me on the best way to get it to lay down right and what length is best. I also expressed my concerns about not cutting my hair every two weeks but wanting to stretch it out to 3-4 weeks without looking completely disheveled. I've been to quite a few barbers and multiple barbershops and none of them hold up to the quality I get from Rob at City Barber's. Yes it takes a full hour which sometimes with a busy schedule isn't for everyone, but every single time I do it (which is now every 3-4 weeks) I see the time spent is more than worth it. I can honestly say I've never had a cleaner line up or a smoother fade. Aside from the ability of the barbers they are all very genuine, welcoming and warm. Walking in, I felt like I was entering the old world school of barber shops, except the walls were the old brick, the recessed ceiling was dark, the lights were a perfect ambience and the entire experience was a mix of old and modern. It was my first time and I sat in Josh’s chair – a 107-year old model in perfect shape. Making sure I was comfortable throughout, Josh began to cut my hair – not with those standard clip sizes, but entirely by hand. Then came a series of five hot cloths for shaving my beard and a final cold one for refreshing. In between Josh massaged lather for the shave. Then off to wash and condition my hair. Finally Josh placed a small amount of product in my hair. It was prefect – and it was the first time I had been in such a classic shop or had my beard shaved professionally. The prices are more than fair. It was fun and I look forward to my next experience. Oh yeah, Josh shook my hand afterwards and the owner held the door open for me as I left. First class experience! Located in historic Park City as well! UPDATE: The prices have gone way up since and they lost two great barbers. Do some pre-checks before going.

TOP NOTCH Ace did an amazing job going above and beyond to provide incredibly great service, experience and results. He spent time to talk with me about my hair, getting very involved to provide a personalized service to work with my specific curl/wave pattern. I never felt rushed for a second, he really worked with me to get my hair to the place I wanted it. City Barbers is a bit pricier than most barbers but you are absolutely getting your moneys worth. It's not a quick haircut it's a full service experience. I also have to mention the scalp massage Ace gave me was so good that I was able to forget the horrors of the year 2018 for 2 whole days. I highly recommend coming here, borderline therapeutic.

She has so much passion about what she does and has the best technique of any stylist I've ever used. She uses a straight razor for my neck line and I get a hot towel service during the hair wash. Casey gave me the best haircut I've ever received - he seriously knocked it out of the park first try. He also somehow cut 0 moles, which is a first for me, and he styled my hair in a way that I liked! I usually have to go home and restyle my hair, even if I got a decent cut. While this place is more expensive, its definitely a premium experience and you do get a lot more with that extra dough. Through all the pampering, don't get distracted like I did and forget to run out and feed the meter - resulting in a parking ticket.

I've been going to City Barbers for a few months now, and have had my hair cut by Rob, Josh, and Casey. All of them have done an excellent job with my hair. A few things this shop does really well: -Excellent atmosphere. The barbers are very professional, friendly, and are real pros at their craft. -Accomodating. I usually walk in and I've never had any trouble getting my hair cut. -To emphasize, the level of skill and experience these barbers have. They offer polite recommendations based on my hair, and I have never had a haircut here come out bad. A couple things you should know: -Appointments here take about an hour. -It is a bit more expensive than other barbershops. ($35 for a general cut as of this review) but it is very much worth it.

Love City Barbers. I've been going to Fletcher, at their SLC shop, for several months. It was an adjustment for me, being that they're a full-service shop; so everything is done with a little more care and intention. Fletcher picked me up as a client shortly after I had completed chemo-therapy. I did not lose all my hair but it had noticeably thinned out and was starting the re-growth stage. He not only improved on my existing hair style (MUCH better fade, feathering, and texture) but also allowed length to come out in certain areas while I was re-growing. Fletcher has always been very communicative about what he was seeing about my re-growth and what he would recommend we start or stop doing. Including recommendations for what products and use or avoid. I've been very pleased with the service and the corresponding price...but I feel the better mention is that I constantly get comments from my wife about the cut and how good I smell the rest of the day after I'm in the shop (should note that they always use very high-end products during the cut, wash, and styling). And their recommendations for products have helped make sure I've got my own collection built out to maintain that subtle, sophisticated scent.

I recently had my first appointment at City Barbers. I moved here earlier this summer and I was hesitant and anxious about letting someone new cut my hair. I had researched and reviewed barbers here in SLC and I thought I would give City Barbers a shot! I was a little hesitant at the price, but decided to book an appointment with Abi! Upon arrival I immediately felt at ease with her. She had a cool vibe and I knew our personalities would mesh well. Aside from being cool, she was super patient and listened while I explained what I wanted to do with my hair. I was a little nervous about my first fade, but Abi had a killer technique and now I’m loving my hair more than ever. I’ve gotten so many compliments and that’s the sign of a great haircut. Abi was super professional and she was really detailed from the finishing trims while styling my hair to the scalp massage while getting shampooed. It was all so great and afterwards I could more than justify the price. I highly recommend Abi and I know she’ll give you the same level of care and personalization as me! My only complaint was that upon scheduling the appointment I had to select the tip ahead of the appointment and I couldn’t find an option to change it later. I wish I could have tipped Abi more, but she’ll have a lifelong client now so I hope I can help her along her journey more in the future!

Fletch is my go to guy for my monthly haircut here in Utah! Its often odd to think that one could be so familiar with hair styling, that it could be considered and art form. I think this is the first time in my life that I have been honestly comfortable with this newer hair style thanks to the knowledge that Fletch provides. I often say and think that Fletch is some sort of hair wizard, with the arcane knowledge of alchemy for the perfect hair shine and hold. The shop itself is also very professional and clean, important during these Covid times. I am almost reminded of the old photos from the 1920s where barbers had to practice their profession in trying times, and City Barbers does the same and I believe they live up to a legacy that is in modern times sometimes lost.

I have been seeing Blaze for just over six months now and I am impressed! He asked me what I want straight up and told me how to get there. We decided to grow my hair out to achieve a certain cut and Blaze was with me every step of the way to keep my hair from being in the “awkward” stage of growing it out. I’ve been going to city for over a year, in every week for cut, and sometimes twice a week if I feel like a hangover treatment or shave. I knew this was “my” place the first time I went. They treat you like family...well better than family in my case haha. I like to feel pampered and important, I think most people do, and City has this down to an art form. From the minute you walk in the door they treat you like a king. It’s my 1 hour a week to reset and refresh and just tune out all the crazy from everyday life. Just moved to town and had to replace my long-term barber, picked Fletch based on other reviews and not disappointed. It's a premium price, but the service level is robust and holistic. Fletch clearly loves what he does, but I was most impressed in his drive to adapt himself to individual needs. In this case, I am looking for a professional cut, very classic and British. Even though the place has a contemporary vibe, he was 100% on board and left me with something I like and enhances the image of competency I need I my line of work. It's an easy walk from downtown, this would be a perfect retreat in the middle of a hectic week for a young professional. Come back to the office feeling and looking great.

After reading so many rave reviews here and on Yelp, I decided to take the plunge and go to City Barbers about a week ago. This place's reputation is totally merited; I had a fantastic experience! I got the basic cut, which includes haircut, neck shave, hot and cold towels, shampoo, condition, and style. I definitely want to come back. Logan cut my hair, and I really appreciated the time he took to understand what I wanted, periodic checks to see if I was satisfied with how the cut was looking, and recommendations he gave for styling and product based on the thickness of my hair, how it lays, etc. I looked pretty awful going in, and I felt like a million bucks walking out. I also have appreciated that I haven't had to be a professional barber to make my hair look good again since Logan cut it. Two other things about Logan that I especially appreciated were that he was friendly without being fake and didn't force conversation (though we did end up having a great chat about movies), and he didn't pressure me whatsoever into buying any of the products for sale there in the shop. He gave me all the information I needed about what he was using and how to best use it and left me to decide whether I wanted to know more. All in all, just about the best haircut I've ever had. I'll definitely be back.

After attending CITY every 3 weeks for the past 8 months I feel I can accurately give a review of their services and my experiences there. I have had at least 4 different Barbers from their staff cut my hair, I have been a walk-in customer as well as a scheduled appointment. FACT: Rob gives THE cleanest fades. Compliment Guarantee I recommend scheduling an appointment with Rob as his skills are impressive, but his desire to give you the cut you want/understand what you want is what makes him an excellent barber aside from being a perfectionist. To top it off Rob is a genuine easy going dude. The atmosphere of the shop is very welcoming and friendly, as well as personable and clean. You feel like you are part of the City Family. An elegant blend of Modern & Classic from the reclaimed barn wood cabinets to the restored classic barbers chairs. $35 flat rate full service 1 hour cut, wash, straight razor shave, line up with hot & cold towels, and styling. They have a wide variety of products they use from shaving creams, hair tonic, to beard oils & balms. You can pick from any of the product they have and try it out during your cut, and if you like it you can pick some up at check out. The barbers take some time to explain to you what the products are and what they do. I have never felt pressured to buy any of the product they carry or feel like I was being sold. $35 might seem high to some for a men's cut, and I'll admit I am cheap, BUT I have never left the shop feeling "that was a waste, I'll have to touch up the spots they missed" like I have at many other "barber" shops. They have always been generous and NEVER cut any corners (that's why they spend an hour on YOU). Johnny aka Pops, runs the shop. He runs a tight ship and makes sure every customer is fully satisfied with their whole experience. They are a family and you can see the unity between them. Currently they have shop closed for a week while they are in Holland learning from one of the best barbershops in the world, Schorem Barbers. This is part of Johnny making sure your experience at City is the best, by furthering their craft. I couldn't be more pleased with my experiences with City & the City family, and I know that if I wasn't, Johnny & Rob would personally go out of their way to make it right. I love the services that they provide to the point that I have brought several friends in who are now regulars as well. I will continue to recommend City Barbers to everyone I know.

I've been using Baby at City Barbers for a few months now and they do a fantastic job. I'm a 40-yr-old woman with short hair and I've struggled my entire life to find someone who's bold enough to do what I ask. Not so with Baby. Whether it's a mohawk, a half-shave, or even growing it out, Baby's got me covered. On top of that, they give me great advice on product to use for my ridiculously finicky hair - I've never been happier with my hair than I am right now. The shop itself is great - clean, classic, absent of smelly chemicals and loud, gossiping stylists. I have had to wait 15-20 minutes a few times, which I dislike, but there is always an offer of coffee/water, and once I'm in the chair I still get my hour and I feel pampered and not rushed. Give this place a try, you likely won't be disappointed!

City Barbers is an amazing barber shop. I've been coming here since the first month they opened and have never had a poor experience. Casey has been cutting my hair for over a year, and it's fun being able to build a relationship with your barber and have a consistent person cut your hair. The price is $45.00 but you get an hour in the chair with your barber. Most shops get you in and out as quickly as possible and charge $20-$25 for a 20 minute haircut. If you want attention to detail and a relaxing 60 minutes, this is a great place to go. I love the professionalism that the City team has and the training that Johnnie puts his team through to make the City difference. Love this place!

Very good service. The place has a nice relaxed ambience with good music playing throughout. Ashley was very friendly and more importantly great at her job, asking about what kind of haircut I was looking for and delivering on it too. All the necessary precautions were taken including hand sanitizers, masks, and temperature checks.

I could not recommend this barber shop enough, especially Stix, my barber. The price may be a bit higher than your used to, but the experience far surpasses the money spent. The moment you walk in your greeted and offered complimentarily drinks from the coffee shop next door that are delicious. No matter your barber, they take their time, and work with you to figure out what's best for your hair, and style. Between the phenomenal selection of products; and the barbers knowledge of them, they'll always make an effort to find something that fits you best, and never push you to buy something you don't love. I've tried countless shops in the valley and I don't trust anyone but Stix with my hair after the years I've seen him.

The barber who cut my hair, Casey, was very professional, attentive, and paid attention to the finest detail.
