The absolute best haircut I've ever received in my life!! I came in with some reference photos and Kenzy provided me with the cleanest cut I've ever seen. It was so jaw droppingly clean, I hardly recognized myself. The only question I have is why didn't I come here sooner??? Have been here a few times now to get my undercut done and a full haircut. Pearl has been fabulous for all of it! I've gotten such fun designs from her and she hasn't made the shaved portion bigger which is the problem I experience at most places! Shop has a cool vibe too. Highly recommend!

This is a very inclusive safe space. I have personally only had Pearl cut my hair, but they never fail to do an amazing job. I have a lot of anxiety, and I never feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed. Amazing customer service and quality.

I have quite short, very fine hair, and a weird cowlick in the back (don't we all lol). I hate having to find a new stylist. When we moved to Portland, I tried a fancy salon. The first cut was acceptable. The second cut was a disaster. My husband recommended I try his barber out. Kenzy had actually been recommended to us by my husband's barber in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I figured it couldn't hurt to try. I now see Kenzy regularly and am very happy with my cuts. She listens to my ideas and gently steers me in the direction I actually need to go with my specific hair type, which I appreciate. The cuts are great, the straight edge razor finish at the end is delightful, and I always leave satisfied. As an epidemiologist, I've also been extremely impressed with how Kenzy has run her barbershop during the pandemic. The shop is always clean, inviting, friendly, and run well. I don't need to contact Kenzy very often but she has always been quick to respond, which I appreciate. Also, there is something really relaxing about getting your hair cut while Bob Ross is painting on the tv, even if there is rock music playing. The overall vibe at the shop is just awesome!

I can’t state enough how much I love getting my haircut here. The shop has a great vibe, the staff are very friendly, and I’ve always had amazing haircuts. Fiona has nailed every single crazy style of hair cut that I’ve asked them to do and couldn’t have done a better job on my recent hair bleaching. Fiona has also been super understanding and great about the times I’ve had to push back or move an appointment as well. Even better the one time they weren’t available, the other barber I had gave me a great cut as well. So no matter who does your hair here, you are going to look a lot better walking out than when you walked in.

Nothing beats a good haircut. I tell that to my barber Kenzy every time she cuts my hair. Before I met Kenzy, I've tried many barbers throughout Portland and could never find the one that cut my hair in the exact way that I wanted it done. That was until I met Kenzy. Kenzy started cutting my hair at another location before she opened her own shop. Watching her grow Take Pride into what I believe is not only the best barbershop in Portland, but one of the best barbershops in the country,has has been an absolute pleasure to experience. I am speechless. What an experience! I’ve never been educated by a barber/stylist before, and wow am I happy I finally got some direction. After going to the same salon in Portland for the last five years, I was wanting a change. I stumbled upon this neighborhood spot and have been impressed ever since. I am a "hairie" (the foodie equivalent of a hair fan) and take things seriously. Shawna definitely knows what she is doing and pays good attention to detail and ensures you leave happy. It feels like a good mixture of cool spa, salon, and barbershop and a good flavor of Portland at the same time. Definitely book a week in advance because this place has a FOLLOWING.

Great experience start to finish! Their site was easy to use and made booking the appointment a breeze. When I arrived for my appointment I noted how bright and clean the shop was. There was hand sanitizer available for customer use right inside the door. After a quick sign-in and temperature check I was able to get into the chair right away. Christine is my regular barber and has been for several years now. I am able to communicate my style ideas and I feel my vision is always well received and translated into a gorgeous cut. I see Fay every two weeks and have been seeing them for the last couple years off and on. They never fail to give me the haircut I want! I always look fresh after getting out their chair. And I often get compliments about my fade. They’re also very down to earth and easy to talk to, and we always share some good laughs and goofy stories. I have curly (not kinky) hair but I get it cut short enough that it just becomes waves on top and the waves look good too when I let them show. The shop itself is always clean, bright and has a great appearance. One time I found an appropriative shirt on their rack and when I messaged the owner about it, she immediately took it down and that was that. QUEER/TRANS FRIENDLY. Sometimes some of the clients who come in act weird to some things, but that’s no matter where you go. The barbers themselves are awesome and some are queer/trans themself.

So this was my first time at this shop, my barber whoes cut my hair for over 4nyears flaked on me at the last minute so I went online and started looking at shops and came across this one. It had nothing but 5 star reviews like over 120+ of them. Arlene was who I spoke to on phone at 3:30pm Sunday and I asked if there was anyway she could see me that day and she squeezed me in at 5:30. FYI they close 6pm and I told her everything I needed done (Bald fade hair cut with tapper, beard trim/fade, and straight blade for neck and beard and also definition spots on haircut) point is she still got me in. She did a flawless job with literally everything. Even the straight blade she was super smooth and had a soft touch. I can't stress enough how happy I am with the service and quality and I would recommend this place to everyone!

Friendly people, awesome facilities, and great cut by Fay. She’s awesome!! This is definitely a 5-star joint. I’d say for myself a key thing was how comfortable the chair was. I am 6’7” and so most barbers/places have to have me slouch in order to cut my hair. This chair was deep enough where I could sit up straight and was so comfortable it felt like a throne! This is a big deal for me and I am sure you other tall peeps can relate!
