The barber did a very good job with my haircut. He was very meticulous and has attention to details. Booking for an appointment online was quick and easy too. I just hope the management will improve on regularly cleaning all the cut hair on the floor after each haircut. Overall, it was a great experience!

Great experience there today! While I’m not normally one to review on Google, Jason H deserves recognition! Even though I was his last client of the day, instead of trying to get me out the door, he took his time and went above and beyond to fix the bad experience I had at a previous barber shop. He gave me one of the best cuts I have had in years! He also lined up the beard nicely as well. Highly recommend Jason H and Momentum!

I typically dislike getting my hair cut - you don't know how it will turn out, it might be awkward... all that. I was VERY happy with Momentum. It's got a laid back vibe, the barbers/stylists are all nice, and I'm very happy with how my hair turned out. The price, too, is standard for what you'd pay at other barbers, although the experience you get seems like it'd be more expensive. I will definitely be going back in 6 weeks for my next cut.

Great place to get your hair did. It’s easy to make an appointment and they are open more hours than a lot of other local barber shops. You can choose the barber or pick first available if time is an issue. I’ve used four different barbers here and they all are friendly and good at what they do. The price is also more reasonable than other local spots.

Sometimes I bring my son too and no matter what they're always professional and welcoming. Jason, the owner is also helpful whether you need an appointment or a good restaurant recommendation. Went in for my second cut here on Monday, Clark killed it the first time so I had to come back! I forgot to ask him to take a couple pics for a review so I couldn’t get the sides or the back but I did get a before and after, I didn’t feel like the same guy coming out of there! One of the better places for a Fade but thats it. Went their for the first time and was really impressed with the fade but the overall haircut left me wanting quite a bit more. I would not suggest it if you having medium to long hair or if you want something thats not a fade. My barber was courteous and the service was excellent.

My teenage sons like coming here. They are always busy in here and I would highly recommend getting in as early as possible to beat the rush. They accept the walk-ins ad well as take appointments. The cost is reasonable. The parking is tough because it’s either street parking or in one of the garages. However, the parking garages are close to this establishment. They are pretty cool barbers here who take great pride in their craft!

Honestly, this was such a rad experience. Andrzej is the man and gave me a proper trim that my girlfriend really loves (#winning). Plus, he listens to Deftones, which automatically made the whole cut that much cooler as we then reminisced about metal, moshing, and Fred Durst. This place is for sure a vibe and I'll 100% be back!

Zoran took great care of me, I have a pretty big beard that I normally take care of myself. He had an idea to make a few minor changes to the shape of it and I let him have at it, so glad I did, looks even better now. Clean lines and a great fade on the haircut. Top notch cut. As far as atmosphere, it’s a bunch of dudes, if you are looking for a salon this is not the place to go, but if you want a good cut then this is a great place.

My barber, Joey, was very professional and made the experience enjoyable. High quality and very cheap for such a great haircut. I am going to recommend Momentum to all of my friends!

my go-to spot for stylish, metropolitan cuts. the barbers are always on top of trendy looks, and will happily line your beard as well or give a full shave if you ask for it when you book in advance. it takes a lot for me to trust the opinion of my haircutter, but these guys have never steered me wrong. highly recommended!

I have been getting my hair cut here for the past 6 months. I have already sent them 3 personal refferals and all of them have been very happy with their cuts. The atmosphere is definitely laid back and friendly. It is deffinetly more of a casual vibe compared to a typical salon. The Barbers and Clients joke and laugh with each other and from reading other more negative reviews I don't believe this atmosphere is preferred but everyone. However for around $25 deffinetly worth trying them out and seeing for yourself. Personally as someone who works in customer service I am impressed with these guys and would give them 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend Momentum to anyone I speak to looking for a cut for several reasons. To start, the second time I walked into the shop, I was greeted and addressed by name. And ever since then, I get a "Hey Chris" when I open the door. It means a lot to me to feel like they value me as an individual, and that I'm not just another customer looking to get some hair cut off my head. Makes me smile every time. I'm not overtly social. I can have a good conversation with most people, but usually a few words is fine by me. Barber shops have a reputation for being hubs of conversation. But when I'm getting a cut at Momentum, I never feel forced to make small talk. If I'm in the mood, I chat with the barbers throughout the cut. If not, it's a few words, I let them do their thing, and I don't feel bad about it. The crew is very easy to talk to, and getting a quality haircut is stressless. For years I went to in-and-out franchise volume hair shops, and the results were as-expected. It wasn't until I visited Momentum that I actually began receiving compliments on my haircuts. They honestly do a great job. I've gotten cuts from 3 or 4 different barbers at Momentum, and the quality remains the same. The extra 5 bucks I spend there, as opposed to going to a Supercuts, is more than worth it. As an example... In the middle of a cut at Momentum, the barber (Billy) was explaining to me how the way he was cutting would make my hair look better as it was growing back. So he wasn't just concerned about how it looked when I walked out of the shop, but also how it would look for the following weeks. Good cuts, good experiences, welcoming staff. Two thumbs up for Momentum.

I think this is a good place. For the most part the barbers are nice. What I hate is every time you walk in the place is a mess. I know it’s a barber shop but have some pride in your space. Hair and tissue all over the floor. Barbers just sitting around with out any care about cleaning their space.

So here I am, a scrawny nerd with blonde hair that needs to go. I've never gotten my hair cut in Portland before, so I just went with a place that was open past five. Momentum. I walk in and instantly see a bunch of what I deemed "typical bros". I read some of the other reviews here and saw quite a lot of bad ones. This mixed with me being a nerd? I almost walked out. But the atmosphere made me stay. The good tunes and laughter between them was great. They were extremely nice to some younger kids and totally threw me off with their awesome personalities. So I get in the chair, expecting that because they're "dudes" the proper care wouldn't be taken. I was wrong. He took more time than anyone I've known to cut my hair. He focused on so many details and even offered his opinion on how to keep up with it. It was amazing. I've gotten so many compliments in less than an hour already! What's more is this: I'm not very talky with strangers. Most barbers/ hair dressers pester me no matter how quiet I stay. This guy? He let me do me. Talked only to update me on what he was doing, while bring polite and understanding of my silence. I'm struck by how awesome a simple hair it was. Guys, please, keep up the good work. If I was a richer man I would have tipped more than a five. 10/10. Would absolutely come again. P.s: throw some tech n9ne on from time to time!

I have known Anthony for many years, once I found out he was cutting hair I had to come Down And see it out for myself. So today I brought my 6 yr old son down for him to cut my sons hair. I walked into the shop i definitely was given a good vide about this spot. I was blown away by not only all the barbers all had ppl in there chairs and with a few guys waiting for there time to get a cut. Also that the shop shop was very clean. all then guys were very friendly, made for a great spot to be. They also sell sneakers , fitted hats , watches ect... They are priced very fair especially for the location in the Portland's Old port area. I was blown away when I saw my sons cut! It looks amazing !!! I couldn't be happier and plan to go back when he is ready for a touch up.

This is a popular place so calling ahead to make an appointment will get you the barber you want, they do welcome walk ins and their are plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars in the area to visit while you wait. This barber shop also sells sneakers and men's grooming products. They cut men, women, and children's hair, I left with a fresh cut and razor cleaned edges.
