Confident is the best way I can describe the feeling I have after leaving Heritage Barbershop with a fresh cut. The shop has a happy and comfortable environment made even more enjoyable by the talent and personality of all of their incredible barbers. Maybe I shouldn’t have favorites, but Liv sculpts my beard to perfection. I trusted her to have me looking my best before my engagement, and more importantly, before my wedding. She never disappoints, and I continue to look forward to getting a fresh cut time and time again.

I've been here many times. I usually schedule random whoever can do my service b/c they're all great and I like talking to new people. Can't go wrong with anyone here. I was best man to my old roomie and brought the grooms party here before hand, we all looked great and all had different things done. Most recently, I decided I wanted a mullet and specifically requested Jenn as she'd had one when she cut me in the past. I didn't really know how to go forward but she asked me a few questions about how I wanted the mullet and made me comfortable about it all. Best part was that she executed to the max after that. Definitely go here, it's the best. Allen, Jenn and Blake are some of my stand out favorites here that I remember.

Have been needing a haircut for quite some time and moved to the area two months ago. Finally found time and decided to try out Heritage Barbershop. Had my first appointment today with Jenn and had a great experience and equally great cut. Everyone working at the time were welcoming and genuinely nice to be around. With "Heritage" in their name, my expectations were through the roof but expected to be disappointed. I've had Ty and Maggie scissor cut my hair and give a quick shampooing that exceeded my hopes. Great to watch actual craftspeople work. I was much better looking when I walked out. Then I had Allen who lived up to the high standards. I asked about this odd psoriasis-type thing going on. Allen pulled out a microscope, took pictures and texted them to me; all while giving me killer advice. Excellent bang for the bucks.

Had my haircut and a beard trim by Eric and walked away incredibly happy with the end result. He took the time and precision in making sure that everything was even and to his standards. He talked about what I wanted and helped me achieve the style I was after. 10/10 service and professionalism. Can't recommend enough.

My man Blake is a wizard with the shears. Didn’t even have to get too specific with how I liked my hair, he saw the vision and I let the master do his work. First time coming here last week and I’ll definitely be returning even though it’s out of my way. It’s rare I find someone who gets it perfectly right, and Blake just gets it right naturally. Great conversationalist too, hilarious guy. Cheers!

I recently moved up to the PDX area and felt lost with no confidence in my hair and beard. Alan was beyond exceptional and helped me find It again. His professional demeanor, up beat attitude, and skill set was something I never expected - in an amazing way. I feel I found my new barber for years to come; the man is additionally skilled with beard Trims and razors. I’m sure other barbers are just as talented; the atmosphere here laid back and up beat. It may look like a hole in the wall, but once you enter the establishment it harks back to a traditional barber shop with complimentary spoils for customers. Music, seats, drinks, and personalities are all exceptional. If you’re new to the area or simply looking for an amazing experience, give them a try! I know they’ve got a positive happy customer for as long as I’m in the PDX area.

I took my husband hair for his birthday because he has no idea what to do with his hair and beard and neither do II! Fortunately Clayton did and got him trimmed, shaped, and shaved up. The barber even did his eyebrows! Now hubby is looking and feeling great has he should :-) we even got ideas for his bald spot that should be easy to do. Clayton really knew his stuff :-) I think we'll be going back. Oh, and the complimentary water, coffee, beer, look fall, and whiskey certainly didn't hurt either :-) it's just a really chill, relaxed atmosphere and everyone settles in like it's the place that they've all been going to all their lives.

Needed a quick cut on a whim, asked over the phone if they had any availability for walk-ins and they quickly had me penciled in for the next 15-20 minutes despite being booked on their website. Got a great cut and my only regret is not remembering the name of who cut my hair. Moved to Oregon a little more than a month ago, and got my first Portland trim earlier today from Allen. I told him about an important interview I have tomorrow and he gave me the perfect cut for it. Everybody in the building was enthusiastic and welcoming, and they clearly communicate with each other incredibly well. You won't regret choosing Heritage for your haircut. I always make my appointment with Savannah. She’s professional and knows just how I like my cut, and today’s was perfect. I give her an unqualified five stars. But only three for the shop today. The cutter next to Savannah’s chair had a foul mouth and that makes for an unpleasant, less than family-friendly environment. I’m not a prude. I’m ex-Navy, and I’ve heard and seen it all, but Navy language by staff in a commercially public business is out of line. Clean it up, people.

Got a great haircut today. I'd had some hair shenanigans going on over the last several months, and Bob took the time to evaluate what U was after and my hair, then did a great job cutting it. My wife really liked the hair cut which is a huge bonus too. The shop ambiance is laid back and comfortable. Definitely a great spot.

I’ve always had a hard time finding a barber that understood my hair well, what I actually like and I had some type of friendly connection with. At Heritage, I found all of those bullet points with Jenn. The shop itself is very well maintained and looks wonderful. From the small chats I’ve had with the other barbers, they all seem great as well. However, I have to specifically mention how great Jenn is. From my first cut, she took a lot of time to really ask what I like and didn’t make me feel dumb for not knowing specific barber terms. She was extremely attentive to all of my requests. Not only that, but she’s genuinely super easy to talk to. You can tell she really loves what she does and making fun banter/conversation with her customers. I feel really fortunate to have found Heritage and to have had Jenn cut my hair. I can’t recommend their shop enough and if you’re wondering who to book with, you can’t go wrong with Jenn at all. They have a lifetime customer with me!

Amazing experience! Took a haircut with Rob and didn't regret it! Hair and beard cut/trim, he seemed like he actually cared and told me some tips on some stuff to do for prolonged hair care! Felt like a $200 cut but was $45, definitely worth it if you don't want to go to one of the chains

It is super convenient to make an appointment online, and credit card is accepted in store. There is a small parking lot in front of the shop, and I got a spot to park easily. You will get a few questions when you walk in as precautions for COVID-19. My barber was Jenn, and she was awesome. She basically tailored all my needs of hairstyle to the smallest details. She also observed the direction my hair grew and make sure the way she cut fitted in naturally. She trimmed my sideburns back and forth, just to make sure the length is spot on. This is the cleanest haircut I ever got. I drove more than 10 hours to Portland, and this haircut makes it totally worthy. It's a shame she won't be reading this review because the chance of reading a bad review will ruin her career.

They nail my haircut every time. They are definitely a barbershop though. If you're looking for a feminine cut, stay away. My partner ended up just shaving her head at home after an attempted pixie cut from here.

This shop is rad, every barber was very friendly and welcoming. Ryan cut my hair and exceeded my expectations. He is super personable and I liked how he explained each step to styling my hair. His attention to detail is extraordinary. All the other barbers looked to give great cuts as well and being able to book an appointment is great. I highly recommend this place.

I have to say this place is my favorite barber shop. I have tried 5+ in the Portland area and no matter who I get at this shop the cut is always superior. They have a way of making you comfortable in their shop and treat all their customers well. I think the best part is they teach you how to look after your hair once you leave, which gels to use, how to comb it, dry it, and how often to wash. So not only do you look great leaving you look great up until your next cut.

While the process are more than you would pay at a great cost I'd say the quality shows through, best high skin razor fade haircut alive had in years. Heritage is an old fashion, unpretentious barbershop. The Burnside location is conveniently located and has a small parking lot. I was a devoted Rudy's customer for many years. Then when the pandemic hit, Rudy's on Division closed and I don't believe they reopened, so I tried Bishops on 28th, but I didn't like the vibe, specifically the customer service, then I found Heritage. I've had 3 cuts from Liv. First of all she's fabulous, I love our discussions and I get a great hair cut. Oh, and their known for their hot towel neck shaves. Highly recommended.

I've tried a TON of barbershops in and around Portland looking for beard grooming. Heritage has been excellent. Everyone I've worked with seems to know their stuff and isn't afraid to voice an opinion which I appreciate. Part of what I needed was advice on how to achieve a more groomed look for work. Both shops have a fun vibe. Plenty of relaxed (and optional) conversation going on. Also, the owner is a huge Timbers fan which is bonus points in my book.

I would have never stumbled into this place but I have followed one of the barbers, Ryan, for some time. And when Ryan, who does excellent cuts, said he had a spot there and how much he enjoys working there, I decided to make the extra drive from Gresham to Heritage Barbershop. When you first walk in, the ambiance is as laid back as well as the barbers in the shop. I would highly recommend anybody who is within a 25 minutes driving radius to give these guys and girls a shot at earning your business :)

Working in the salon environment, and going to a shop that can accepts walk-ins, I understand that sometimes it’s hard to accommodate a walk-in, so I made sure to call ahead and luckily Jenn had an opening that afternoon. Bottom line: If you want your money's worth and come out looking like a million bucks, I'd recommend going to Heritage. Their staff knows what they're doing. From the handful of times I've visited (since COVID-19 happened), I always left feeling I got my money's worth. Their talented crew really knows how to cut hair and are abreast with a lot of trends in the hair world--I'm never afraid to ask for their opinion and any tidbits of information to keep my hair looking good. As of COVID, all appointments (even same day one's) must be called-in and scheduled--not a big deal as some might make it. Expect a little bit of wait! Even though you may have scheduled and showed up to your appointment on time, there's a pretty good chance you'll have to wait a bit for the person ahead of you. From my own experience, I usually have to wait 10-15 minutes by the time I arrive. Again, this isn't a big deal to me but I think it's worth mentioning. Good things comes to those who wait.

There are many barber shop in Portland that offer full service, but Heritage is the only one I've been to where they take the time and effort to do a truly fantastic job. Each of the barbers has a real interest in what they do, and create a comfortable relaxing experience to go along with a great cut, trim & shave. Highly recommended. Not only did he do a great job trimming and shaping my beard, but he also explained every step as he was doing it. Went in as a walk in to see about a razor fade. Small shop so there was a little wait but it was well worth it. Kim the manager did mine and she took her time. About thirty minutes but she was super nice and the time honestly flew by. They have free drinks while you wait and a very nice space. Ill be going back for sure. Beat to make an appoint though. I went to Ryan for a haircut about two years ago and haven't looked back. I gave him a vague idea of what I wanted and he was able to completely revolutionize my hair into what it is today...a masterpiece! Made an appointment a few weeks before visiting Portland on my annual Christmas trip and was pleasantly surprised by the cool, laidback atmosphere. I got the full beard service and the barber did everything I asked and I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks. My girlfriend was impressed as well, which is not easy to do, especially when it comes to my beard. It’s also a block down from Screen Door, which I feel like makes this place a slam dunk if you’re in the market for a great beard trim or haircut. I was greeted the second i walked in and was offered beer/soda (nice touch) while i waited. Bobby has some serious skills with the scissors! I've found my new barber for sure. He did an amazing job. Ryan set a new standard for me. He qualified my concerns, gave me options as he approached different aspects of my haircut & even a little pep talk when I started being self-deprecating. The haircut turned out great even though he had to make corrections for a previous haircut I got at Brick & Mortar. The man can actually do a great fade and spent much more time on mine than hairdressers I used to regard as being incredibly thorough. He also clued me into some of the pitfalls less skilled barbers are prone to pertaining to my hair & offered to show me how to blow dry my hair to achieve a certain look. A first for me, he provided his business card with hand written notes on the answers I gave him in terms of preferences and, basically, what he did. Just truly above and beyond! In fact, I almost hesitate to say so because I don't want to schedule a haircut 2 weeks out. Incidentally, he's worked all ends of barbershop jobs including training.

Already booking my next appointment! First time in the shop after being tired of some other well known Portland shops due to poor attitude and inconsistency and I got barber Mike! He did a great job with a close fade and scissor cut on top. I was vague when telling him what I was looking for but he did a great job. The whole shop was easy-going as well - beer, music, football. When I was leaving, all the barbers said goodbye showing they all care which is unusual. Great shop, easy environment lacking personal attitudes, and just a good place to relax while getting a good cut! Definitely recommended! JJ

I’ve been through all the usual portland barbers and I think I’ve finally found the one I love. They don’t feel like they’re trying too hard to be cool or anything, it’s just a genuine good cut from good people at good prices. I’d skip the bishops and the Barts of the city to come here. So far I’ve had both Liv and Chico and they were both so good st what they do! Chico even got me to try a style I’ve never had before and it came out great. I’ll be getting my cut more frequently from here on for sure.

Hair cut kind of felt like a rush job took about 15 minutes total. Maybe I've just been spilled by my old barber with all the shampoos, straight razor shaves and hot towels. Chelsea, she's my girl, I have no real opinion on the barbershop itself other than my stylist has a chair here and I can get in any time. The place is set back in a strange little strip-mall like building with an odd half-wall and facade painted all white. Most people would know it by the mexican joint on the corner (YUGE BURRITOS!). They offer beers and hot towel treatments and straight razor shaves and everything else you'd expect from a full-service barbershop. Basic cuts are like $25 and they do walk-ins sometimes, but I'd def call ahead.

Well, I'd like to start out saying ive been to this shop a few times, and always had an absolutely great experience , until last week , i called around opening time to book an appointment and was treated poorly, and then i showed to the appointment and was treated poorly by the same person ( Ryan ) . A hole in the wall barber shop that's staffed with super cool people that give great haircuts. No Hollywood styling, just solid and affordable work. The atmosphere is relaxed, and you can have a beer while you wait and admire all the retro barber chairs (some are very sci-fi and cool). Parking can be a challenge because the lot is tiny, but street parking within a block or two shouldn't be a problem if the lot is full. Their online appointment system is amazingly useful and, unlike some hair places in PDX, actually treats your reservation as a reservation, not a general time to check in and then wait (coughBISHOPScough).
