Been going to Cloak & Dagger since they opened. I can always count on them to do a great job. And the shop is a wonderful place to be and wait grab a beer while I wait. I missed it during the pandemic and I am glad to get back to my haircut routine.

Can I give them 10 stars? I have never been fond of getting my haircut but This place has me looking forward to my haircuts. I was greeted with an open bar consisting of whiskey beer and wine. I opted for a whiskey neat and it was a generous pour. My barber, Theresa, was wonderful and we hit it off talking about several subjects as she cut my hair. For the ambiance, customer service, free drink, and amazing haircut. You could not beat the price. They do a wonderful job here!

5 Stars for Cable Tucker. I have not received a service from any of the other barbers at Cloak and Dagger, so I can't speak for any of them. Cable is not only a great professional when it comes to cutting hair, but a knowledgeable expert on the subject. I am very happy with the haircut and experience I received today.

Laid back and classy atmosphere, arrive early for your appointment and have a drink while you wait. I got my haircut by Theresa and she did a phenomenal job. I commiserated with her about my last, terrible haircut and went into this one with some apprehension and residual fear of having someone new working on my hair. Within 5 minutes I knew I was in good hands. She took the time to ask questions and clarify exactly what I was looking for. At the end of the cut she styled my hair and then took some extra weight out around the sides when it didn't quite sit right. I couldn't be happier with the result and will be using her as my exclusive Portland barber from here on out!

Walked in on my Birthday and made an appointment had to come back in 2 1/2 hours (so book your appointment online or by Phone). Asked for a whole head straight razor shave and Beard trimmed and clean up. Started with a trim of Beard and did my eyebrows also then used their Beard oil to make it behave. Did hot towel on face then straight razor shave and cold towel and then some light smelling after shave. Next up my head hot towel again wrapped around my head and a straight razor shave ( my fault I didn't tell her my hair grows fast and to shave against the grain to help it stay smooth longer. Also my first straight razor shave.) Cold towel and after shave on my head. Had a complimentary drink while waiting and was pampered wonderfully a great job and I will be back. Nate Dane especially has always gone above and beyond to accommodate me and my sometimes crazy schedule and leaving me with a dope cut every time. Super nice guy who always impresses me with how much he remembers about our previous conversations from past hair cuts. This dude cares about his clients. He’s been cutting my hair for the latter 4 years of the 5 years I’ve been going in and as far as I’m concerned no one else will until he hangs up the clippers. I've been getting my hair cut at C+D since I moved to PDX from NYC. I appreciate the online booking since I'm a single dad working full-time but I have gotten pretty hit or miss haircuts when booking with only my schedule in mind. There are a few solid barbers there but Nate Dane has been the most consistently great barber that knows my hair and my ideal cut. So much so that I wish it took longer than it does so I really felt like I was getting my dollars worth, haha. He's a good dude and a good barber. I haven't been able to line up his schedule and mine for the last few haircuts but was finally able to last week and I was so happy it worked out. A week later and I still feel like I finally look and feel like... myself. I will definitely be waiting for his chair to be available from now on. It's worth walking around overgrown to get that perfect cut. 🤙

My partner been working a lot lately, so I have been looking for the perfect barber for his beard. I opted for Cloak & Dagger after reviewing some of the barber Instagrams, and I was a touch disappointed by the results. After $55, my partner's beard was uneven and looked a touch disheveled. There was still the white cast of shaving cream on his cheeks and even in his beard. His beard was as coarse as it is when he does his beard care at home, which was surprising since I know how soft it is when moisturized right. No one acknowledged me when I entered or waited, which was a touch weird, but my partner says the scotch they served him was top-knotch. My Portland search for a beard master barber continues!

I have been going to Cloak & Dagger since October 2018. Unfortunately due to the pandemic I do not believe the shop is offering their usual complimentary drink with your visit. However, in normal circumstances you'd check in and receive a whiskey, coffee, or beer while you wait. I think that's pretty rad. The shop is beautiful, in a wonderful area, adjacent to some of the best food around, and the staff is incredibly talented. Personally, Maggie has been an incredible barber to me for about 2 and a half years and I've loved it the entire time.

I have been getting my haircuts with Nate for around a year. He has always done an excellent job from the first day I stepped in and vaguely described my preference. The facility itself is trendy and clean. With my haircut I’m always offered a beer which I have yet to pass up. They also have a really painless online scheduling system. It’s a barber company that is more than flash- it’s a quality experience!

I visited Cloak and Dagger for the first time today and cannot be happier with the experience. Appointment was right on time, and even with COVID precautions in place the whole experience was a pleasure. Nate was personable and fun to talk with and gave me hands down the best haircut and beard trim I’ve ever had. I went in requesting help with cleaning up and developing my long hairstyle. I went in with easily 20 inches of hair. Large sweeps were cut incrementally before I had to accept that I was brought down to only a few inches of hair. by the time I realized what was happening, the damage was done. At the moment I was dumbfounded, and not sure what to say. I simply paid and left. Edit: They've been agreeable that there was a miscommunication, and are working to help me correct this mistake. While it will take a long time to get my hair back to where I would like it, this is an appreciated and professional gesture. This could grow into a positive relationship, as they are talented. I merely suggest being careful to describe what it is you want very carefully.

I didn't know what I wanted when I went in, but had a nice chat as the owner gave me a haircut that looked great. After a day or two I notice I can't style it the same and the length is frustrating me. I get accommodated for a next day appointment and they cut it down to something more manageable. 5 stars for their patience, atmosphere, and competence. I love this shop and everyone I’ve worked with here over the past 2 years. My stylist Mychal goes above and beyond to give me a meticulous cut that always leaves me feeling like a new man. I gave myself the covid cuts for a while and I’m so glad I’ve started going back in person - they’re Very clean, masked, gloved, sanitizing all the time, feels safe before during and I’m sure after this wild time. Not that it’s like a competition, and I’m sure the barbers in the area all know eachother, but Cloak and Dagger is a ‘cut’ above Throne and other local shops I’ve tried.

Very nice ambience and décor without being derivative and kitschy. The woman who helped me was cheerful and amicable. The conversation was half the joy of the visit. She shaped my beard quite nicely, as well as giving me a good haircut. Having water for waiting customers to serve themselves at their leisure in actual glasses is a Very nice touch. First off, this place is bomb. I’ve been going here for almost a year now and I fell in love from the first haircut. If you want a great haircut, good atmosphere and free drinks, this is def the place to go. I recommend Alex as he is very knowledgeable, personable, and very detailed. With that being said, I’ve never seen anyone walk out of here unhappy or not receiving what they wanted, so anyone at the shop is a steal. Worth the money for sure!

I am beyond particular about who cuts my hair and while this may seem unbelievable I avoided getting my hair cut for an extra few months so I could visit this shop and have Megan set me up, she knows how to handle a straight razor too. Yes I drove 10 hours from northern California for this hair cut and I was not disappointed. When I walked in the door I was offered a beer and when I walked out I looked like a million bucks. What more can you ask for?

This is the only place I'll get my hair cut at anymore. Very friendly staff, they offer you a whiskey or beer with your cut and always have sports on tv.. online scheduling makes it super easy to find a time that works for you and you can always make sure to get the same person! Alex is my go to there. Razor shave and for hair cuts. The lady barber gave me a shave but her service wasn’t great. Its cold out and for hot razor shave she used a cool feeling cream. Didn’t even ask. Alex total opposite he cares about his work and its shows.

They do a great job but prices are EXTREMELY high. If you are getting a haircut once every couple months then this is probably good for you. I have a simple buzz cut but since it is more than one guard, I would have to pay $32 for a 10 minute haircut. Like I said, they are professionals and give great cuts, just not impressed with their pricing and tip options of 25%, 30%, and 35% on their iPad checkout.

Zoe and I talked daddy issues over a perfect haircut and beard trim and a beer. On the high end of haircut pricing, but well worth it (at least with Zoe. Can’t speak for anyone else) I’m really really picky about my barber and I’ve always really wanted to talk to someone who actually cares about helping me shape my beard.. and what I got was literally the perfect cut and beard combo. Highly Recommend! Ask for Nate. Nate does a great job giving you what you ask for and politely recommending new ideas to your cut. He's also skilled in using a razor during a cut, which is something I needed to smooth out my cut. I've really enjoyed coming here and they also offer you coffee/bourbon if you're interested! Awesome place. Got a great haircut, and I've been looking for a place that can cut my hair for four years. Leah paid attention to my requests. (Actually what my wife told me to request. She has to look at me more than I do.) Leah also made suggestions of her own, however, which I like and have had a difficult time finding someone to cut my hair who is willing to do that. I also sprung for a beard trim, so people will stop trying to give me money and leftover food while I wait for the bus or train. Unfortunately, I was right on time and they were very prompt, so I didn't get to take advantage of the pool table and it was ten o'clock in the morning, so I didn't avail myself of the bar. Close to the 44, Close to bus lines 44, 4, 24, 6, and within biking/walking distance of several others.

They can be very inconsistent with haircuts. It’s pricey, 35 for a haircut. I don’t think it’s the best in Portland, but it sells the idea well. Ps. Could you please do a proper wipe down of the face and neck. I always leave with noticeable hair on my nose and back neck.
