All the barbers at Gents are excellent! I got to Joey who I have been going to for about 5 years now. I don’t even have to tell him what I want he already knows. I also know that if he is not there and I need a haircut I can trust any of the barbers in the shop because they are all top notch. They are also great with kids all ages. I get my 5 and 3 year old sons haircut there and Joey never lets us down. I say you have to give it at least one try! They won’t let you down.

Just came out of the barber shop a couple of hours ago. Cut looked good, but my neck and scalp burned a little. Dre was rougher with the electric razor than other barbers I've gone to before- the process itself of getting my hair cut was actually painful. He also burned/cut me in multiple places with the razor, which he used on my skin without any shaving cream (basically dry shaving). It's been 5 hours and it still burns. I don't have sensitive skin and this has never happened to me before.He was very meticulous and took his time, but the burns are so bad I definitely won't be going back. (See photos )

I moved into Fishtown 3 years ago and tried Gents for my first haircut in town. It quickly became one of my favorite small businesses in our community and I continue to visit even though I’ve moved. Joey is the owner. Ask for him. He is extremely welcoming and is as skilled as any barber I had ever met growing up in DC. Prices are fair and the conversation is always interesting

Gents is the barbershop I decided to stick with when I moved to Philly. I initially avoided the shops in Fishtown because they're a bit pricey, but when it comes to haircuts you get what you pay for in this city. The owner Joey is very polite and professional and I currently sit with Duane who gives me a precise, consistent cut every single time.

Been a loyal follower/client of the owner Joey for nearly a decade. I would never let anyone else work on my hair. Unless I am in the mood to mix it up, I never have to tell Joey what I need when I am in the chair. When I do mix it up, Joey guides me through options and how to stay on track to build the look, if I need to grow my hair out. We enjoy watching the progress of these "style adventures." Always look forward to the barbershop banter and catching up with Joey and the team. Always a steady stream of regulars coming in, usually with regular-ish appointments like myself. The spot is welcoming to a diverse clientele. I highly recommend. An excellent business offering excellent services. Fantastic addition to the Fishtown neighborhood.

They put a ton of time/effort into all of our services and were flexible with my buddy who didn't have an appointment. I am updating my review in regards to the wonderful customer service provided by Gents Barber Lounge. Shortly after hearing about the poor experience I initially had, Joey, the barber shop owner, had reached out to me to work with me in changing my mind about the place. All I wanted was a nice hair cut, and Joey delivered. Even while having a group of about fifteen gentlemen, who apparently were all getting their hair cuts for a wedding ahead of me, Joey was able to get me in the chair shortly after the approved of scheduled time. After sitting me down, he was patient in working with me to get my hair exactly how I wanted it, and provided a quality cut, that I am overly satisfied with. Joey is a down to earth guy and is willing to work with you in any way, and I would definitely give him my business again. I still think the appointment system could use a little work, but the fact that they were so quick to rectify my bad experience here, just goes to show that this is a quality place. I would definitely recommend Joey for your barber shop needs.
