Great barbershop in Jersey City. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. They have a nice decorated place with many sports memorabilia. They also had football showing on screens during the World Cup and you can watch the games while getting a haircuts. The people are very friendly and accommodating.

I’ve been coming to V’s Barbershop for over a year now, and I can’t recommend this shop enough! Jay is my barber and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Every cut has been clean, tight, and consistent. Jay takes his time, carries great conversation, and makes you feel like more than just another customer. If you’re in the area and need a quick cleanup, or if you live nearby, this is your place. Like most guys, I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to haircuts, and I won’t be going to anyone else any time soon. Check out Jay at V’s Barbershop, you won’t regret it!

Haven’t been here yet, and will delete this review after I get Feedback - but I have a Question based on reading all the negative reviews - the common theme is that all of these haircuts are rushed, uneven, and that barbers don’t cut as desired + or listen to what is requested. At first I wasn’t deterred but after seeing SO MANY common themes, I’m reluctant to go here. Can anyone tell me what barbers they went to that kept messing up haircuts/rushing through and not listening to what is being requested?

The staff is very professional & they are very good at what they do. I booked an appointment in advance, reached there on time & got the job done without any delay. (They do accept walk-ins but it depends on availability) The interior is the best part of this place after their hair artists. They have various sports running on the TVs all the time, even the whole shop itself is sports themed. Would definitely recommend this if you’re in Jersey City & looking for a satisfying haircut. Worth the value!

I’ve been coming to V’s for several years now and I’ve never had a time where I left displeased. Well once, but that was sorted right away before I walked out the door. Youssef is my go to and it’s always a pleasant experience. We catch up, we share a few laughs and I leave better than how I arrived. He knows what I get and I walk in and he asks, “your usual” and he gets to business. There’s a few new faces there and it does seem a little quieter, but you can hear each barber talking to their client and to me, it makes the shop feel homie. I travel 2 hours from PA back to Jersey City to get a cut and to see family, but I’m totally fine if it’s just for a haircut. I highly recommend them.

I personally normally go for <$20 haircuts, but after a disastrous one last time, I went to V's for a $30 haircut. I left very happy with that decision, and my hair was definitely a cut above what I'm used to. I had Eddie, who was super friendly and professional but also didn't force small talk, which was great. He gave me excellent suggestions and convinced me to keep the top longer, which was totally right in the end. I'm definitely going back!

Got a haircut that was booked for a 30 minute slot. Juan finished up the cut in only 10 minutes. Place was not busy, but it felt like the service was rushed. For a $30 haircut I was expecting it to take longer with more meticulous cuts. Looks good, just felt rushed.

I had the pleasure of getting a cut from Viggs. He was friendly and knew what he was doing. I asked for a combover with a skin fade on the sides and it turned out exactly how I wanted it too. He also notices the little details like those pesky little hairs that are sticking out and he sorted that out too. This was one of the cleanest cuts I’ve gotten at this place. That’s saying a lot because I’ve gotten a cut from everybody there and they are all great at cutting hair. If you’re looking for someone that has great attention to detail, I wouldn’t hesitate to get a cut from Viggs.

It's not the most talkative barbershop I've been to, but I leave with a cut as good as any professional salon around here could do. Haircuts aren't cheap, but a good haircut never is- and V's does the little extras, like using a straight razor for your neck, that make it worth the visit. It's my regular spot now.

Got my haircut done here. I have been a regular here and this was the first one post COVID. I felt it was safe. They do a temp check at the entrance and barber wears a mask. Could wear a face shield as well to make customers more comfortable. But felt safe. If you are okay going out please support them and tip them well!

I think the pricing is in line with most barbershops in NYC, only minor issue i had was i indicated it was my first time on the reservation system but when i got there they didn't know if it was my first time or not. Its better to give that extra client acknowledgement of being a first timer to put the client at ease and to let them know they will be taken care of...

I get my hair cut by TraVon, he is great! He explained how cowlicks work and why my hair is so hard to style. He gave me advice as to which hair style would work and how I can modify it, as well as what products to use to work with my cowlicks, instead of fighting them. No other stylist has given me the info or been able to explain to me why or how my cowlicks work and how to make them work with my style. The facility is very clean and they have plenty of stylists so the lines aren't too long on busy days. They also have a website that is easy to use and quick to set up an appointment with the stylist of your choice. They work quick, but make sure your hair is looking great. They clean you up with a straight blade and warm shaving cream. All around, the best barber shop I've ever been too, and will only go there from now on.

Great cuts, quick service, reasonable prices. Clean. A bit of an odd location, but that's not important. You feel safe going in, you feel comfortable during the cut, and you feel great walking out! No idea whether they do Goth dyes, initial or word skull shaves, but if they do, (a) I would be surprised, and (b) I would also bet they do it well.

I've been debating whether or not to come here for the last few weeks. Lots of great reviews on the shop, but then some terrible experiences with 1 star reviews. Decided to take the chance today, and I'm pleased with the results. The barber gave me exactly what I wanted, in and out within 10 minutes. He was efficient, professional, and proficient. Not sure if's worth the $28 sticker price, but I'm a pretty cheap guy. I can echo one negative thing I read in other reviews: they aren't exactly jumping out of their chairs to greet you. I walked in and there was easily a 30 second pause (not exaggerating) before one of the barbers acknowledged me (despite there being two barbers sitting in chairs watching tv). But I can't complain too much, one of the available barbers seated me within a minute and had my haircut done in 10! So can't really complain much. As for the other negative aspects mentioned (inexperienced, ripping you off, rude, not taking you, etc.), I didn't experience any of that. For the area, I feel like $28 is probably average market price for a haircut, so you can do a lot worse. Take a chance and try it out, I think the 1-star guys on here are being dramatic/unrealistic/exaggerating.

Great Barbershop with a modern touch. The 3 barbers I've had all have done a great job and I am VERY picky when it comes to who can cut my hair. Only downside is it's fairly expensive for a regular cut at a barbershop. It does come with a straight razor touch up and warm towel wash though.
