I got my haircut here and I loved it, I mean look at those curls! Everyone is so nice and friendly. The shop has a cool vintage vibe with a beautiful hand painted mural. The staff is truly great at what they do. They really put a lot of effort into making you feel pampered and they make sure you walk out happy with how you look. Don’t waste anymore time just book an appointment you won’t regret it.

Luis took me in for a same-day haircut and also let me know I could come earlier or keep my later appointment. Everyone in the shop is super welcoming and extremely nice. If you’re looking for a high quality barbershop with reasonable prices then this is the place for you!

I've been going to this shop for a few years now. I professional, and relaxed, and I love the old school vibe. I'm loyal to my two barbers that are still at the shop Christian and Luis. They both pay attention to detail and take their time. and ladies yes they wash and cut your hair, Luis did a great job when I grew my hair out and gave me advice on my curls. And when I decide to cut it short and style it they're always ready for it. There's also an app called Boosky you can book your appointments ahead of time. Good vibes, LGBTQ friendly, and old school.

Came in for first time, place seems to be really relax and cool. Everybody friendly! Place was pretty busy to the point where i was in and out in 15 minutes. Barber did decent job, missed few spots where i had to fix it at home. Felt my cut was rushed where it went down with quality. Due to trying it out for first time, probably wont be back. There better places where barber take his time and do quality work for cheaper price.

One of the best barbershops I've ever been to! Luis is the man! His haircuts are consistent and the best I've ever had. Not only is he a master of his craft, but he's really friendly and makes you feel very comfortable in the chair. The shop has a really chill atmosphere and each person I've seen has walked out with a great cut. This is the place to go to if you're even remotely in the area. I highly recommend JAX Chop Shop!

I've been going to this spot for a couple of months now and I've been happy with the service. The cuts always come out clean and I never feel like it's being rushed to get to the next person. I'm pretty big with being on time and so far I've never had my barber run late for an appointment which is something I noticed a lot of barbers in the area struggle with. If you're looking for a solid place to get a haircut at a good price I'd definitely give Jax a try.

I have been going to JAX Chop Shop for my haircuts and trims for 2 to 3 years now, and this place definitely has some great customer service and solid barbers! They were in a smaller place next door initially, and due to the rising popularity of this barber shop, they moved to a larger place next door! I always get my haircut from Luis and he consistently does a great job. He always takes his time and prides himself on the details, so that alone keeps me coming back. The staff and other barbers are very nice, as they always ask me if I need a drink, coffee, or espresso while waiting. There are always good conversations going on while I am here! For reservations, make sure you use the app Booksy to book your appointment with a specific barber. Walking in can be tough as many of the barbers end up having a packed schedule. You can tell most of the barbers here have many regular clients, and for Luis, I am one of them!

Best haircut I've gotten in years. Exceptionally professional, highly skilled and with a cool ambiance to boot (think 'rustic beard oil vibes' but in a not obnoxious way.) I don't doubt that all their barbers are great- I had Christan and he did quality work while making me feel welcome. If you're around North Jersey and you're looking for a barbershop- this is it.

Today I went in for a hair cut, didn’t know what I wanted or how to describe it, I told Luis I’d like whatever he gives me. He really went out of his way to find a style I liked, one I didn’t even know I wanted. He made me feel comfortable the whole way through and let me tell you, HE EXECUTED! If you stop in, you won’t be disappointed!

After not getting a haircut for a decade I was shocked to see what haircuts had come to cost (different shops than this). This is a well-priced shop, and I feel like I'm getting value for the cost. I really appreciate the aesthetic and everyone working there is very friendly. I barely have to show/describe what I want and they're ready to go. It can be tough to park near here, so account for that when timing your visit. So far I've not had to wait unreasonable times with an appointment, nor have I seen anyone in the shop having to do so.

I had the pleasure of having Luis cater to my specific hair needs and not only did he accurately exceed my expectations through the photo I showed him as a reference, but he ensured to clean up any and all stray follicles (of which I couldn’t see with my naked eye) with a straight blade without hesitation. Amazing set of barbers that they have here. Super easy to make an appointment through the Booksy app and you are welcomed as soon as you walk in. I get my cuts with Elmer and he is very professional and friendly, never left me disappointed with my cut. The location is clean and plenty of room to wait for your turn.

I have an Oster Classic 76 and cut my own hair, but still feel a bit iffy about doing my own beard. I'm working on the "yeard" and don't want to mess it up, and the first time I trimmed it myself I wasn't entirely thrilled with the results. I've been here twice, each time it was a different person working on me, and each time the person was great. They don't overdo it, and they give good advice as well for your own grooming in between visits. Nice friendly service, and great results. Pretty cool spot, too, plus nothing to complain about the pricing. I guarantee, if I didn't cut my own hair, I'd choose to get it done here as well. I'm quite confident that they would of course do a far better job than I can, too. Lol! Recommended!

On a personal level, I go to Luis for my haircuts, and he is literally perfect - perfect conversations, perfect haircuts, perfect big shimmering brown eyes. I couldn't recommend this place more. Absolutely love this place! My boyfriend has been going here for about 3 years. He’s gotten his hair done by almost everyone there and his hair always comes out great! My boyfriend gets bored easily with hairstyles so everyone there is always helping him change it up! He always comes back home so happy after leaving there. I have also have had the pleasure of being able to go myself! I’ve had my hair blown out there on two different occasions by the two girls who work there, Jaime & Day. The ambiance is awesome, the music is always the best, and the funny conversations there are like no other! I wish Jax was a cafe because I can spend all day there. Can’t speak highly about this place enough! Just make your way to Jax..you won’t be disappointed.

BEARDSMEN REJOICE!!!! Last night I got a haircut from a barber who... actually knows beards (*Gasp*). About half of the gentlemen who work JAX Chop Shop have beards themselves. Also, they sell Maestro and (sometimes) Detroit Grooming Co. products. This place is great. I probably won't get my haircut in the city, even after the covid restrictions are lifted. @Nick - thanks for everything!!

I found out about this spot through a friend who recently started growing out his beard. He noticed it while driving by and said I should check it out, since I had mentioned that I was looking for a place to get my beard trimmed, as I grow my beard out as well. I've been there 2 times: first time for just a beard trim and the second (yesterday) for a haircut and beard trim. Both times I was cut by two different ladies who were very friendly and concerned with how I liked the cut, asking me questions along the way. I really appreciate this kind of care. This place is AMAZING. Jax Chop Shop is easily the best in the area, hands down. I went there and the atmosphere was superb. The owner is an outstanding man who understands that most other places charge an arm and a leg for their services. So JAX chop shop is a ridiculouslty affordable but YET high end location without a shred of doubt. I highly recommend this place like no other. I got lots of compliments on my hairstyle, which i rarely ever get. Go there and schedule one ASAP or be a walk in. It's a secret hideaway waiting to be found.
