As a young traveling consultant in the midwest based out of Indy this is my favorite place to get a cut. Quick Look: Atmosphere: A Service: A Timeliness: B Community: A Detailed: Atmosphere: A Old School barber feel and by coming here for years, I know just about everyone. When a new barber starts I introduce myself and love seeing this place grow. Love the Jazz music that is playing most often. Service: A You want to talk about a nice clean look. I see Matthew / Jacob majority of the time. Give them an idea of what I am looking for but give them the creative freedom to make me look great. Timeliness: B Being fully transparent. Things are typically running a bit behind. It only takes 1 customer to be 5-10 minutes late that will run their tight schedules together. Community / Culture: A With a welcoming atmosphere, good conversation, and smiles all around I love walking in. At this point majority of my friend circle & family go to this barbershop and love the experience.

Great atmosphere and theme that carries on the legacy of what barbershops used to be. Friendly barbers who always know how to give you the exact cut you are looking for. I've been getting cuts from Matthew and Jacob, and they're top-notch barbers. Great haircut quality and overall experience for the price, highly recommended!

One of the amazing shops to get your haircare or grooming done. Hair artist who work here are amazing and very friendly. I live the place it has a really old school vibe to it. They accept cards & cash for payments. As this shop is right on street you have to find a parking spot around and can find some free parking spots a block away.

I moved to Indy 2 years ago and tried out many barbers. Today was my first time at Fountain Square Barbershop and Jose gave me a great fade and haircut. The other reviews are spot on when they say everyone is very kind and patient. When I walked in I was greeted and asked if I wanted a beverage while I waited (no charge for drinks). I was very please with the service all around and I will be back.

For a rock-a-billy at heart, this is THE place for a haircut. The vintage setting is great without feeling campy. The 50’s music- perfect. The haircut was straight-up outstanding. Jose listened to my request, made suggestions, and above all- took his time to work and style my hair. The price gave me a double-take at first, but after one sitting, it’s worth every dime.

This is a pretty cool place. The barbers are great. I take my son here and he really enjoys the conversation and jokes. The classic barbers chairs are very cool and remind me of the days when my dad would take me to Larry's barbershop. Plus, you can shoot over to upland or new day afterwards and enjoy a snack and brew.

He is absolutely amazing, it took me two year's to find someone who could do my hair right and finally I found Jose. My fiance and I both get our hair done by him and he never misses a beat. Hopefully he alway's makes sure to fit ME into his schedule.

Easily one of the best places in the Indianapolis area to get a haircut. Jacob G is super personable and gives a great cut for anyone looking for a good fade. All the guys in there were friendly. They even offer beverages for customers while waiting. Prices are also very reasonable given the quality. Overall, would highly recommend.

The only reason why this is a four star review and not a five is because of the way I was spoken to and treated on the phone. When I called to schedule an appointment the person I spoke with wasn’t very patient with me. I’m not sure what happened... we all have our days. I decided I would still give them a shot. I wasn’t disappointed. I told Zach I had made the mistake of going to a Great Clips for a cheap cleanup. They had ruined my hair and didn’t do any of what I asked. He was helpful and friendly. He helped with giving me a proper lineup (even though due to the hack job I had was nearly impossible), took my idea into consideration, and did best to give me a proper cut and fade. I will be back in a few weeks after it grows out to continue to fix my hair and get it where it needs to be. I was satisfied with the cut. 😊

There isn't enough good things to say about this place. The barbers are exceptional and worth the price. They will spend around 30-40 minutes per haircut to ensure it is exactly how you want your hair. The price includes a straight razor neck shave which is my favorite part in order to keep the neckline clean. I personally use Quentin and would put him up against anybody. He takes pride in his work and checks in throughout the haircut to ensure he is on target for your request. Conversation is casual but very entertaining. The characters who enter during your time will keep you thoroughly entertained. This place has done well to keep the barbershop feeling alive and well in the Fountain Square area.

Interesting place, for sure. I booked with the soonest available person, but ended up getting my haircut by someone else. They have a unique, customer centric approach. If you're waiting and another barber finishes up and doesn't have a client waiting, they'll take you next. Even if you didn't book with them. The place is constantly swept and cleaned. The crew makes a big deal out of saying "please" and "thank you" anytime someone answers the phone or cleans up the floor. I did have some small hairs missed on my cut, but not the end of the world. It happens. Cool place though. Definitely stop in.

I was able to schedule my appointment conveniently online, I was in the chair on time, my barber was Ana, I had scheduled a haircut and beard trim and it was the absolute best! My only disappointment was when Ana explained that it was her last day & that she was moving out of town. I will absolutely come back again as it is conveniently located near my office downtown. There are few authentic things in this world & the barbershop @ fountain square is one of them. Sure you could pay a bit less @ Sport clips / great clips spending around 8 minutes watching a screen & get back to your busy life. I prefer to take a minute get a great cut & get a real conversation & connection with the people and events happening in my community. This is where you will see most customers greeted by first name when they cross the threshold & often times pick up on conversation from the previous visit.
