My experience with Sunlight Financial/Freedom Solar was exceptional. The process in total was about 3 months. Team Top Gun was sent out to install my solar panels . The aesthetic is clean and the panel cluster is neat and secluded. You can’t even tell I have panels off the street as they are organized solely on the rear of my home. I’ve been in service now for about two weeks relative to solar power. So we’ll see how it goes and in about a year I’ll know my savings if any at all.

My husband and I are 100% satisfied with Freedom Solar Power. Juan Gonzalez, who was our rep explained everything in detail, answered all of our questions and kept communicating with us through the whole process-start to finish. The crew that came to install the panels were very professional and did an amazing job. Their sun power app works perfectly! We monitor our usage almost everyday. Their customer service line is also wonderful and very responsive. I cannot recommend them enough. I am a very happy customer!

Very happy with our decision to go with Sunlight Solar. They were extremely friendly and helpful with the entire process. They made it very simple and easy, even though its a long process to get the power switched on. I know of some other people who used a different solar company and they had tons of issues and it took more than twice as long to get theirs set up. The 3 guys that came out to install my windows were all knowledgeable, competent, polite and respectful. I couldn't have asked for more. They did an excellent job. They were on time and completed the installation quickly. What blew me away was they policed up my yard where they made the installations and picked up every piece of glass and debris from the old windows. I give each one of them a 10+. We were very excited to have our new shower installed once we ordered. We were told it would take 6-8 weeks for product to come in. After waiting the 8 weeks we had to call and make sure that we were on the schedule. They were very accommodating to get us on the schedule on a day that worked for us. However, we were told a day maybe day and a half for installation and it took 2 full long days to get installed. The gentlemen that worked on the shower were very courteous and kind. Took measures to keep the dust down and laid a tarp down where they walked to get to the bathroom. Thank you BathRUs for our new shower install.

I found financing with Sunlight Financial to be affordable with adjustable payments plans to suit various budget expenses. I was given the option to cancel if any terms of the contract was not acceptable after review. The most winning terms was the 3 month deferred payment at a lower interest rate. Huge savings over the "other guys" that would only do a 25 term max (with a higher rate). Applying was easy for our remodel job. The remodel consult was able to do it all from our home. I received an email from Sunlight Financial just a few days after the install was done that our contractor had been paid in full. Our next step will be decide if we take advantage of Sunlight's 2yrs/no payments/no interest option or make monthly payments now. Otherwise, we are happy with them so far.

A very quiet but friendly relationship. Seem very customer relations oriented. A man of modest means, Sunlight made these panels possible for me. Elec bill was 200+ mth. 28 LG solar panels from Encor installed, and financed through Sunlight cost 165 per mth, elecric bill now only 16 per mth. Yes. Sixteen dollar electric bill! Combined electric bill AND solar monthly payment, now only 228, saving at least, 200 yearly. Thank you Sunlight because my electric bill, thanks to you, likely will never go up. We both win!

They are very professional. They sit down with you can talk about how it works and the amount of power you will need throughout the year by going over your electric bill. It only took them a few hours to run the panels and all the wiring. The whole process took about a month. I would highly recommend using this company.

The actual application and approval was very quick - quicker than the comfort consultant from Honeys' Air and Solar entered the information (to be fair he had just driven nearly 30 miles late in the day to get the loan approved). I did NOT get told, or realize - or read anywhere - that the loan would actually be through a Credit Union and that Sunlight was the "Financial Connector" to the Credit Union - that was a bit of a surprise and it took me a while to figure the entire thing out. A little more information up front would have been nice ans avoided some confusion on my part. Its all good right now.

Other than paying the contractor when panels were “on the roof” instead of having the installation completed and working, the experience was painless and easy to set up the loan. I was promised they would contact me BEFORE paying the contractor, but was NOT. It worked out ok, but you could be left with an incomplete project and still have monthly payments. I would have given 5 stars if Sunlight Financial had kept their promise.

They approved our loan flawlessly, very smooth and simple process. However they sold our loan to another company before we even received loan documents. I know it’s common practice, have had it happen twice with another larger loan but have always received something stating it would/could happen instead of a random email from a credit union I don’t have a loan through. Would I do it again, probably! Communication: 1 star rating! Everything else: 4 1/5 star rating!

My initial interaction with the company was thru a salesman who spent 5 hours explaining and showing me the great materials used for the roof. I was given a great price and couldn’t pass up having them do my roof. There was nothing for me to do on my end and the company took care of everything from beginning till end. I was extremely satisfied with the service I received except that the men who did the install, broke my gate going into back yard, they left my yard with large nails all over the ground and they detached my hose but didn’t put it back on when they left. All in all 3 little issues were nothing at all especially considering the immense workload.

Everything has been great on performance and sales; however, installation was an absolute cluster! I told the company I would be out of town, I came home and there were panels on the roof!! They also came to finish install on a date where I said no one would be at home! They did make try to do something for the inconvenience, and paid my first 2 months bill. The biggest issue is that they start charging before the system is completely up and operational you have two "electric companies" to pay. Your normal electrical because you are still on the grid. And this company as you are paying to the panels...BUT THEY ARE WORKING. My had a defective converter that is supposed to charge the batteries, but doesn't so I am waiting for that paying for electricity at night which the batteries would do if they worked.

I regret not going with a company that would also put in a back up battery. Can not get anyone to put one in for under $30,000. Company that installed panels will not even return phone calls. I also had to get a different insurance company to insurance property. There was also a large fee with the electric company that I was not expecting. On the bright side, panels are producing 75 percent of electric use.

The forman stayed after all finished and went over all work preformed also discussed my warranty. Lost a couple of small plants from the removal of old roofing but not upset. One thing I like my solar system, no worries on our electric usage, on either the heater or air conditioning systems runs 24/7. The processing, financing and installation was amazing, within 2 months the systems already running smoothly. Sales Rep, and all technical personnel involved in the installation of our solar systems were all professional and knowledgeable on their duties. I highly recommend their financing, I got zero (0) interest rate for 10 years.

We started getting charged for our solar install before the install was complete; up and running. We contacted our rep at Complet Solar and the company paid the bill until the solar install, permitting, inspections and turn on were complete. I would like to add a caveat however: The 5 stars is only for the the financial part of the process. Complete Solar was the company who installed our second installation of solar panels. They also, secured our financing through Sunlight Financial. It is the only positive thing I can say about Complete Solar. The rest of the process with them was an utter nightmare, customer service did not exist with regard to the install. The right hand and the left hand were on completely different bodies.

Solar panel/inverter installation was quick and painless. The longest part of the process was waiting for APS to install the charge-back meter. The panels have been generating the promised amount of kWh. In my first month (07/27 - 08/24), I saved $43 over the same month last year. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I want to see what my savings are over an entire year.

Had to come back with correct equipment, etc. Once installed took over a month to get turned on... we lost most of the summer sun due to delays. Was told the electric Co would probably give us a cheap bill prior to installation but no. Due to delays, still have a normal electric bill due after first payment.

I've changed my rating from 1 star because they have honored their original deal and I'm satisfied. Horrible communication. They offer a discounted interest rate if you sign up for automatic withdrawal, by sending in a voided check within the deadline. I sent mine in, months before the deadline. They said they didn't receive it, so I sent it in again. This went in for a while before I reached out to my solar company for help. I even emailed sunlight Financial themselves. I kept getting emails that they received my email, but no reason on why they weren't receiving my voided check. AFTER the deadline. My solar company got back to me to let me know sunlight financial said, I wouldn't be getting the discounted interest rate, because sunlight financial needed more information on the voided check that my bank gave me. They had months to let me know that they needed a more specific voided check than what they asked for, however they just choose to act like they never received it.

Appreciated Ava placing our loan on an escalation due to Goettl not completing the work. Two cut trusses and a rafter. Still over a year later the City Inspector has not been over to inspect the job because the engineer Goettl hired has not submitted the repair plans to the city. We were offered a zero percent for one year loan through Goettl/Sunlight Financial. I just wish they could have placed a repay/hold on the money they gave to Goettl. We have payed our loan in full prior to the due date. Sunlight and we have lived up to the contract.

We have only started with your company so really it is too late to determine how effective or reliable you are. There is only one complaint. Your bank was to withdrawal from our checking account of 145.30 on August 25th which you did however, you withdrew another 145.30 on August 26th which were not aware of. It was a modern version of loan acquisition in that you never speak to a human. There was a lag in Sunlight Financial (SF) receiving my Permission To Operate (PTO) from Alliant Energy (~7 day lag) which resulted in two emergent email notifications that they needed the PTO to proceed. I had to contact my solar panel vendor twice and Alliant Energy twice (again, no human-to-human phone calls etc, only lagging emails) only to find out SF had the PTO the whole time. ...frustrating.

Keep in mind, my first payment has not yet been withdrawn from my back account; however, I've called and spoken with a representative twice - once before I signed the contract and once before payment was released to the contractor. Their customer reps were knowledgeable, friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions. They even have a system in place to make sure that you understand the contract before you sign it - very responsible (especially for older people) - I believe someone called me to get verification and answer questions. They also did not push me to release the payment to the contractor until I was satisfied with the work. Their website was easy to use (I'm slightly technologically challenged); but, was able to set-up my first payment and subsequent auto payments very easily. I'm very satisfied with Sunlight Financial (so far) and would recommend them.

First, I was really delighted at the interest rate we were offered and their program that refinances the principle after 15 months so you have time to receive the federal rebate and apply it to your principle. It is a really brilliant idea and I love that I don't have to pay interest on that rebate amount for the life of the loan. They really streamlined the information and signatures they required. Everything was digital, which makes it so easy (and safe in times of COVID). The web portal is easy to use and it was a snap to set up automatic payments. By and large the personnel have been well informed & easy to deal with. As far as I can tell, the solar panels are working & my electricity bill is starting to go down. Installation took a long time because first they had to get a permit from the city, which was slow to issue one. After the panels were placed, the system had to be inspected by both the city’s energy resources department & the city owned utility. As a result the system wasn’t complete in time for this year’s taxes. One message from Freedom said my system is now up & running but another said they’ll send me instructions on how to get it started. Aside from the long delay & the mixed messages, all remaining to have gone well so far.

For someone with an excellent credit score, the rate was really high, and the steps to just see documents without printing or saving somewhere is a bit ridiculous. It is a security measure but is very tedious. Will be looking into other financing issues once we have time to look around. We were really surprised and educated on the many products available on the market. We did what is considered the norm and received several estimates. Hansons wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive, but the sales person, was knowledgeable and honest about what to expect. The one constant with the sales person, was no negative responses about products or competitors, we were honest and open about all our quotes. Our sales person and the corporation were willing and able to make on the spot decisions about prices and products. The quality is very noticeable and everything looks great, any questions or concerns during and after completion were addressed immediately. It was my request for a representative to come out and inspect the project after completion, during that inspection, all our concerns during initial estimate were reviewed, and before leaving our representative walked our property line with a magnet, to insure no nails or debris were left behind. In February decided to install solar. Vendor helpful but not totally informed of vital information necessary to put a positive by the total experience. Several friends and acquaintances have installed solar in recent months, none pay an electric bill. I still do. It is not the fault of the solar installer or financial carrier, but lack of and changing information from my electric coop made this experience less than gratifying. I was installed in May, and here we are six months later with no issues. Setting up bank drafting was simple. Payments automatically get run, everything is pretty seamless, except for still getting a $100+ per month light bill. They only credit me with $0.02 per KWH because that is what their supplier charges them. But they still charge me $0.14 per KWH while I'm not producing power. HOGWASH....but for another day.

The loan is under my name. I am responsible for it, yet they let the solar company receive an extension since that company couldn't get their act together in a timely manner, without letting me know. But when I called to have it extended after paying for 4 months of both regular power and this loan back and explained what was going on with the solar company and lack of communication, they told me there is nothing they could do for me. Not sure how they can give a 3rd party an extension without letting the person who is actually paying for the loan a heads up but they did. Seem a little suspect to me considering its my loan and they let someone else change the terms without my knowledge. ***UPDATE***. After reaching out to the number provided, I explained what was going on, and after a few phone calls back and forth I was able to get the extension.

Fill in the vital info required for the loan. then later once loan application is approve, will send you a docusign documents to sign electronically no need to drive to a location for signing. It’s that easy. The loan application get sent to a bank for financing, mine was sent to a Credit Union Bank with auto pay (ACH) who pays the solar installer and all the hardware used.
