My debit card was flagged for fraud last week. It was so overwhelming because our family was already dealing with another issue, and this situation was very upsetting thinking someone had used my card.When I arrived at my Grand Rapids branch, Monica H waited on me, and immediately put me at ease. She issued me a new card, walked me through activating it, and made sure everything was working before I left. Monica went above and beyond, and I left feeling so relieved.

I came in with a long list of requests: help with a recent mortgage refinance, help with merging two accounts with different primary account holder names, help with the mobile app, help with an expired card, help with auto bill pay... I was a problem. Anna L never even hinted to any impatience as she spent 45 minutes sorting out every question I had and always suggesting the next step to go beyond my immediate questions and ensure I was well prepared to manage ongoing concerns. I could not possibly have asked for friendlier or more knowledgeable assistance.

I have been banking with this credit union for 30 years and have always been happy with their services. Recently we experienced an issue with an account outside of, but linked to, our bank. Angela S helped us and was absolutely phenomenal to work with. She was exceptionally knowledgeable with what needed to be done and her customer service exceeded my expectations. Like a home away from home, this is my 'preferred bank'! Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Quick, personable service. Monica reached into her purse and traded one of my quarters for her 2022 Maya Angelou quarter for my little girl's quarter collection. Just above and beyond!

I have been banking with this bank for the past 35 years and find that it is the best place to bank because no matter where you are in the world, you have access to your account. You receive great customer service in person as well as over the telephone. They strive to handle all of your issues or concerns that may arise. I currently live in Nevada and they are located in Michigan, but I still have access to my account without a problem. I recommend this bank to any one especially those newly getting started or seeking to switch banks.

I opened my Grand Valley Credit Union account back in 1972! I moved to Kalkaska in 2007 for my job, and ended up closing my account because I did not want to pay a $5.00 fee per month to keep the account open since I was no longer using the account. Shortly after closing the account I had to go on SS disability and ended up moving back into the area. I enjoyed Grand Valley before so I opened a new account. Now I wish I had never closed my original account so that I could brag about how long I had the account! When they became Preferred Credit Union, it was such a smooth transition that I noticed zero changes beside the name change. Great job Preferred!

This place is amazing stayed open 40mins late on Friday to help me get a payoff for auto loan that was through affiliated credit union. That’s right the loan wasn’t even financed through them!! Angela Sean was the most friendly young lady I have meet in along time! She was very patience and never even thought twice about waiting for us!!! If I could give them 10 stars I would. I've been a member of Preferred for a number of years now and just love it. It's a throwback to a time when you always knew who you were doing business with. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Jeanne in the Grand Rapids and Amber in the Ludington branches. You feel like a person when you come in, not just a number. And their mission statement is so much better than a bank!

Regardless of whom I had help me in the loan department, regardless of the credit union name change, they give A#1 service. They are professional, quick and very friendly!

From Grand Valley Co-Op -> Preferred Credit Union, these people have been great. I have been an account holder since 2005 here. Their interest rates are low on loans and modest on savings, customer service is fantastic, and the services they offer are expansive. Currently I hold Checking, Savings, Christmas Club, Vacation Club, PCU Visa Credit Card, and a small personal loan through Preferred. I have nothing but great things to say abou this company! 5 Stars from me.

We closed Chase and Wells Fargo. Moved everything to Preferred. Preferred was previously Grand Valley Co op Credit Union. Merged, I think. Anyway, I have done business with the Sparks location since the 1980's. We live in Arizona now, and get better interest and service than anywhere else, here or in Michigan. Update: We're now starting to be nickled and dimed to death $5.00 at a time. 2x, now. I will be watching to see if the fees outweigh the benefits.
