The refinance process with Financial Plus Credit Union was very easy and it was a pleasure working with all the staff. We received an Amazon gift card during their special promotion. We used the gift card for our daughter's dance recital tutu. We had enough money to surprise our other two daughters with matching ones. Every time they wear them, we think about the great service we received.

Allison was so helpful during a stressful Saturday morning with a lobby of customers. With the shortage of employees, she was assisting us while also training a new employee who was assisting an elderly woman with a mask on, so difficult to hear. FPCU was my company's Credit Union when I first started my job a VERY long time ago. I started with a small deposit every payday and learned the value of saving for a rainy day. Over the years I've been able to borrow to build a new home, buy a vehicle, save for vacation, save for Christmas, etc. Every transaction I've been able to make over the phone/mail or in later years, online since my company is now FL/PA based. Every single employee I've encountered has been extremely helpful and have been able to solve all my requests to get the right direct deposits or payments out of the right accounts. I could've moved my money to a FL credit union but the service and products are EXCELLENT so I've never been tempted to change. I highly recommend this Credit Union.

I've been a member of Financial Plus Credit Union for over 20 years and have always had excellent customer service. I've especially been pleased with the services available to members. I've used FPCU for all of my auto loans, personal loans, CD's as well as 2 home mortgage loans. I recently sold and bought a new home and Erik Abrahamzon at the West Des Moines branch went above and beyond to make our closing of our new home happen even when the deal on our sold home fell through a few days before closing. During a very stressful time Erik made things run smoothly. I will always bring my banking needs to FPCU!

EDIT: I opened an account here a little over a month ago, and I was told I'd receive a debit card in the mail by a certain date. When that date arrived, I assumed there was some sort of holdup so I waited several days and decided to call. I was informed my card was never ordered and I could drive to the branch and receive an instant-issue card. I drove to the branch and got my card printed, however the name was spelled incorrectly so I wasn't able to activate the card through Shazam. At that point I decided to withdrawal my money and go elsewhere. A week later I receive another card in the mail, also one which wouldn't activate. I contacted the branch manager and she informed me that it was a duplicate card, so it wouldn't work either. I understand mistakes happen, but when they happen back to back for something so simple I was extremely frustrated. The entire reason I chose this credit union is due to the good reviews. The branch manager, Jennifer, was extremely apologetic due to the inconvenience since it was an issue that shouldn't have happened in the first place. New staff was being trained by a trainer as I arrived for the instant issue card. However, that wasn't the case when I opened the account and was supposed to get a card in the mail. After speaking with Jennifer, she informed me they have revised their training for new accounts & instant-issue cards to make sure this wouldn't happen to someone else ever again. The professionalism and courtesy Jennifer expressed is the reason I'm editing and changing this review. She gave her best efforts to resolve the issue and prevent it from happening in the future, which at the end of the day is all you can ask for. It's not often you find an employee of a company, manager or not, that cares to that extent. Due to the original issues I can't give a 5 star rating, but Jennifer's willingness to resolve the issue definitely deserves credit, so I think a fair rating is 4/5 stars.

Financial Plus Credit Union has been my main bank since 1999 when they bought out Telco Credit Union. Very happy with the service there, and the small "bank" feel. In the past I have had account with Wells Fargo, Brenton Bank, First American Bank, Bankers Trust. But not any more. Still excellent in 2020

We decided we needed some home repairs done around the place and some of them need to be done in a timely manner. We reached out to Financial Plus Credit Union to check into a Home Line of Credit and were fortunate enough to get the services of Kyle Passick to assist us in the process. He laid out the options to us and explained and helped us through the whole process and in a very timely manner to help us meet our home improvement needs. In today's fast paced and aggressive economy it's refreshing to know that there is still great customer service to be had out there. The whole loan process with FPCU and Jennifer was very smooth and easy. From getting the information Jennifer needed via phone or email, to the closing, there were no issues. With the current situation we are in with Covid and businesses closed, it really had no affect on how the process was done or handled. It was great! I wondered what closing would be and I was told we would use DocuSign and WOW, that was so easy and simple! It took just a few minutes to do it, and everything was just like it would be if you were sitting in an office! Great experience and service!

I moved to St. Louis 2 years ago and kept my account with Financial Plus in Des Moines. I have been with them since it became Financial Plus many years ago. I opened up an account with Advantage Credit Union down here. I soon realized that it wasn't anywhere near as good as Financial Plus. The Advantage Credit Union down here is just like a bank. Fees, fees, and more hidden fees. I have now parted ways with the crappy credit union down here and do everything via mobile banking and online with Financial Plus. I have had nothing but great service for the many years I have been with them.

I came to Iowa in August 1986, and shortly thereafter set up an account with Financial Plus Credit Union, which I have to this day. I have no complaints, save that lately their web site is inaccessible sometimes (as I write, it's been down for around a day). It would also be really nice if the web site would let one not just get a listing of transactions within a specified range of dates, but also 1. Let one specify more general queries (e.g. show me all the payments to X, or all transactions over Y dollars). 2. Let me download the results of such queries as PDF files, or as CSV files for import into a spreadsheet or database.
