We love Juarez bakery. We don't always know what we've bought, but that's half the fun. Their pastries aren't as sweet as some places, but you know you're going to get a made from scratch quality product anytime you go. We always get the churros. They are out of this world.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! If you want to cheat on your diet-this is the place! You go to the counter, grab a red tray, turn to the wall and oh my goodness-carb heaven!! Super fresh bakery goods, best pastries and authentic treats. It can be busy but they keep the lines moving and it’s nice to be able to pick your own. Go There! Prices aren’t bad -if you bring the kids they will want one of everything!

If you need somebody to explain why Juarez Bakery is good, then it is not the place for you. Who doesn’t like cake, cookies, or fresh bread? Even if you don’t, delivering these pastries to a pal is often a win : ) When you go in, don’t be bashful about grabbing a tray and tongs and loading up on the delicious sweet treats found in abundance on the shelves facing Waco. Slices of cake, crumbly cookies, sugared donuts and a variety of pastries are readily available. So many are easily enjoyed with a glass of milk or strong coffee. Each will be carefully packaged for the ride home (if they make it that far) while being rung up. Customized cakes are also available. I don’t know that I will ever be able to forget a hauntingly decadent tres leches con café birthday cake for my wife that continues to pop up in my dreams from time to time. I would expect that should you choose Juarez for your next special event, you would experience the same joy. Every time we have ordered cake, it has been a great experience. Each cake is skillfully decorated for its special occasion. It is a simple joy in and of itself, perusing the cakes that are waiting patiently to be picked up each time that I stop by to load up on pastries and cookies for the family. Retirement and anniversary celebrations made better with vibrant and skillful lettering, birthday parties carefully accented with airbrushed cartoon figures. Juarez also has a surprising selection of snacks, drinks, spices and cooking ingredients available in store as well. If you have made it this far in life without visiting, don’t hesitate to make this a stop today!

This place is pretty good ive never bought anything but cakes and pan/ sweet bread but the bread is really good and so is the cake ive only ever gotten the tres leches cakes because ive heard there normal cakes are really dry idk how true that is, but the only complaint i have dosent even have to do with the food its that they used to have these like glass things you slide to open to cover the bread but they took them off i have no clue why especially with the monkey pox stuff going on, but yeah i hope they put them back on but his place is pretty good overall

They only run cards for purchases over $5 or something like that. Their pastries are so beautiful and delicious. They do cakes and have a variety of classic snacks and staple Mexican groceries. Service is always excellent. Great place to give your business to!!!

Great place for some great desserts! I saw someone who said everything was "bread", they are far, far, far from it! I picked up two dozen empanadas and was able to try each flavor - every single one of them was delicious! 5 or so stacked shelves run down the side where you can use a tray and tongs to pick out as much, or little, as you want! Be careful though, as your eyes will for sure be bigger than your stomach!

STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!! This place is NOT just for Mexicans, it's for everyone. I never write reviews but .... The lady who helped us was so nice!!! I felt a little self conscious going inside at first because I'm white and only speak English. The lady who helped us spoke English and I didn't feel out of place at all! She answered all my questions happily. To top it off, my husband is from Belgium; he's been searching for a place to find good croissants.... Needless to say, that search is OVER! He's so hard to please but somehow this place did it. As soon as you walk inside the smell of fresh bread hits your nostrils! And the prices, I was shocked! My husband could buy enough pastries for everyone on his team at work for less than $15! Not to bash but you can buy at least four pastries for the price of one at Panera and the taste doesn't compare either! We purchased several different breads and some avocados (best I've ever eaten). We will DEFINITELY be back!

This bakery is the best in town. And they have one on the east side so now there really is no excuse for not going all the time! The west store does have some groceries and cold drinks. Any of the sweet breads with an ice cold coke makes for a great afternoon treat.

Went an hour before it closes and can still stream of customers coming in. Shows it's popularity. Variety of baked goods on display. Prices are on the low end about 1 USD for each item. Can see a few flies flying around. Taste okay good portion. Not overly sweet. Not the best. Items might taste better and fresher when visit in the morning.

This place reminds me of Chicago. Old fashioned bread that is so cheap too! Honestly, its the best bread in the whole state! Do yourself a favor and get some. Just dont forget to wear a mask!

Being in the military you travel a lot, I am from the old country and this is the first bakery that you can say it is original. I have experienced flavors from Mexican bakeries in Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California but never have truly tasted a better bread like the one that is baked at this place. Over 70 and love my bread, so I honestly can say this is the closest, if not the real thing to a Mexican Bakery.

A hidden gem in Wichita, Juarez Bakery delights their guests with some of the most delicious baked goods in the Wichita / Derby area. We stumbled across them late one evening while returning home from dinner and we were desperately searching for pie. We did not locate the pie, however we went home with two bags of croissants and mouth watering pastries. A bit off of the beaten path but well worth the trip for locals and visitors alike as there is nothing else like it in town currently.

Came here to get the churros. First time I came at 11:30am, they ran out of churros. So, I had to come back the next day at 7am. The churros were still warm. It has a crunch as you bit into it, with gooey inside. Very delicious.

If you crave pastries and breads, make the trip here. When you enter, they will hand you a cafeteria tray lined with parchment paper, as well as metal tongs. You serve yourself from the wide array of breads, cookies, churros, and croissants (I don't know the correct names), then pay at the register. We also purchased two liter-size glass bottles of soda (Coke and Topo Chico). For 9 pastries and our drinks, we paid $12 and change! The churros are warm, dense, and filled with sweet cajeta. The cookies are somewhat cake-like, lightly sweet. The sugar-topped conchas and croissant-shaped pastries are yeasty, fluffy, and satisfying. Treats!

I can fudge my way through many a savory Mexican meal, but I'm in uncharted territory when it comes to Mexican bakeries. The promise of a sweet treat is universal, though the odd shapes and unnatural colors can throw me for a loop. It doesn't help that Juarez doesn't have the most intuitive setup - you have to come to the register to get a tray, then walk over to the other side of the store to choose your pastries. I soldiered on, however, and my efforts were ultimately rewarded with a paper bag filled with a hodgepodge of whatever looked good.

Update! Went in the other day and it’s the same! Still smells amazing!! Great panadería!! It smells sooooo good in here! There are a few of the regular Hispanic grocery items. And a deli like area with creams, cheese, and meats. There are pretty party cakes. But the thing that really is special is the pan!! Sweet breads and cookies 😋 yuuummm!! And we felt like the prices weren’t bad at all.

I don't know if the employees across the street make them work too hard or they're just mad at working there.
