Bought a key lime bar, lemon bar, cara-marshmallow coffee and pineapple upside down cake for my mom - that lemon bar is the MOST delicious one I've ever had! I'll certainly be coming back and supporting this local business more often. The workers were very sweet and punctual with our order, too!

This is a fantastic spot for fresh pastries and baked goods. Stopped by at 8 am and was able to hand pick over a dozen delicous pieces and at a great price too! They also had some amazing looking cakes on display. Would definitely recommend giving them a try! Update 3/12: Got another delicious batch right at open. Same great quality we had the first time!

Great bakery with real donuts way better than Duncan or Krispy cream. Lots of variety for desserts. The eclair was delectable. Also we got there later in the day so there was only a half full case, but it seems they have something for everyone.

Extremely delicious pastries and coffee. They offer full cakes, donuts, cookies, muffins, scones. They even have some savory options. We got a scone a gingerbread cookie an old fashioned doughnut and something else. Everything is always fresh and not extremely sweet which I appreciate. Sugar Plum Bakery is a special place. They are a non profit that provides training and employment for people with health conditions or impairments. You can eat there or take your doughnuts to go. So if you are looking for a good cookie doughnuts or cake for a special occasion consider Sugar Plum Bakery on laskin rd in the beach.

After much research of bakeries in the area I decided to try Sugar Plum Bakery for my birthday cake this year. I picked up the Mozart and it was everything a cake should be! We returned a few days later on the way home to get cupcakes to share back home. Not only do I love the whole idea behind this place but the people (service) were amazing and the cake, cupcakes and doughnut we got were all top notch.

An amazing bakery that will fulfill all your sweet tooth needs… and more! The donuts were very so delicious, it is clear they use high quality ingredients. Also, they still had a great selection of items mid morning, which was very exciting. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We couldn’t have had a better experience.

Spendy. $12 for 3 pastries, 1x donut, 1x Danish, 1x elephant ear. The apple danish had a really thick layer of pie filling. The elephant ear left a fatty film on the roof of my mouth and just completely crumbled... I took a chance, but its really not an elephant ear. The donut was ok, but the buttercream filling was stiffer than the donut, so it easily broke through.

It is expensive, you pay for quality and a great shop, but do expect to put out some money. i don't go here as often as i'd like to, BUT... it rlly is like one of the best bakeries around here imo obviously the bakery treats are amazing, but i also just recently realized they do coffee too :'-) i've only tried one so far, but it was great! & the syrup selection they have is actually impressive compared to some other places, so i'm definitely planning on trying some other flavors!

My wife and I ordered our wedding cake here and it was very tasty and beautiful. Our cake was simple, a small round cake and then 50 accompanying cupcakes, vanilla and lemon. Our cake was lemon with some lemon filling and it was very good. The saddest part of the experience is when there is no more. We wi definitely be ordering our cakes for any occasion through here now. Very friendly and the cake was ready when we needed it. Affordable as well for a 6 inch round cake and 50 cupcakes it was around $150.

I am from Louisiana but the bakery's back home were not mailing King Cakes this year for Mardi Gras. I ordered a King Cake from Sugar Plum Bakery but was disappointed to realize that it is more of a cinnamon role type pastry with icing. No baby in the cake and no filling. Good as always! Definitely give the cream horns a try. My only gripe is raisins in the the cinnamon rolls. That is a travesty of monumental proportions. I wish they would carry a non raisin roll. I usually give 3 stars for such a thing, maybe one day I will be able to rate the cinnamon roll. Until then try everything else. You will not be disappointed.

The cakes are amazing! I ordered the Mozart cake for my wedding and it was just stunning...just like the photo on the website. The lettering was very elegant too. The employees are very kind and willing to work with whatever you want. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because the icing was a tad bit on the sweet side. Good as a TINY slice, but not for an average sized slice. I will definitely e ordering from them again!

Such a cute little bakery and great cupcakes. I personally wasn't big on their cheesecake and lemon bars but the cupcakes were great, especially the Mozart cake and the chocolate volcano. We picked up the cake from the store and were impressed by the selection and quality of the donuts and other baked goods they sell. They even have a selection of mega donuts that are big enough for 3-4 people to share. I didn't know before going in that this place is a non-profit which employs people with Down Syndrome and gives them training and a paycheck. I got a lemon bar, a pretzel, and two cookies and they were all so delicious we were raving about them for days. The customer service was excellent, everyone there was super sweet. I'm not just saying that because they have a disability, they really were excellent.

This is the best bakery I've had the pleasure of patronizing in, well, my entire life. The cakes are always fresh and beautifully decorated, they have a huge variety of pastries, breads, and beverages to choose from, and the staff is always incredibly nice as well as efficient. To top it off, everything is delicious! Also? One of Sugar Plum Bakery's missions is to employ and train individuals who have disabilities which I think is an incredible asset to our community. Just keep in mind, if you're ordering a cake for an event, order early because they are always busy and are not open on Sundays!! And if you're looking for specific treats or pastries, go early because, while they make ample amounts of yummy donuts, cookies, etc., they go quickly!

Ordered a cake for my husband's birthday, and it came out phenomenal. A bit pricier than anticipated, as it was an additional $12 for decorations, but it was very tasty. Huge selection of cake flavors. Really wish there was something gluten-free to enjoy for those of us intolerant. A few tables and chairs to relax in. Parking lot is a little awkward and spaces are small.

I would say try their spinach and feta pie because it's one of my favorite things in this world, but I don't want any more customer competition for them! So stay away from my spinach and feta pie and try their tasty Sugar Plum fritter instead!

I have gotten a few cakes here. I just have to say that I have never been disappointed. My favorite is the raspberry and chocolate cake combination. I love that the raspberry does not overpower the chocolate ganache. The cakes I have tried are not too sweet. I have to try the other flavors of cakes.

Both the cause and the treats are amazing. If you don't know about their mission, go to their website and learn what they are all about. Not only is it a small business, but it champions one of my favorite causes, so I'm equally sold on spending my hard-earned cash there before any other bakery. I recommend the Volcano cakes. I I tend to go there for smaller things, so I'll usually come out with a box full of different treats. that being said, their cakes are also fantastic. They have something for any occasion. If you don't want to show up to someone's house empty-handed or you're looking for a way to be the hero of the day, show up with a sugarplum box. Enjoy!

Tired of our dessert options at the grocery stores (some of which aren't bad at all) my wife chanced into Sugar Plum and brought home a sampling of small goodies, a huge coconut macaroon a delectable Napoleon, i believe a cheesecake brownie bar and a peanut butter moonie all were delicious each had great texture the kind of sweetness that you want but nothing was "icky" sweet the puff pastry in the Napoleon was tender and flaky and clearly these were assembled the day she bought them unlike the box stores Naopleons (when they even have them) which were assembled at least days prior to the purchase generally. Mannnnn, I hate this place. I have zero willpower when it comes to sugary deliciousness and this place is always completely stocked up with it. I rarely walk out of here without spending at least $75. Cookies, cakes and pastries - if that's your thing or just what you happen to be looking for, this is the place for you. (Get on their cake of the month email, you won't regret it. Unless you're diabetic. Or about to be. 😐) I did make the mistake of getting a lunch sandwich here once, and I won't be doing that again. It wasn't terrible, it was just nothing special. Not like their treats. Their sugary deliciousness is so good that even with the nothing-special-lunch-sammich I still give them five stars.

Custom made cake for a 70th birthday party ordered the week ahead. I emailed in a photo and then discussed the changes to be made for the correct name and detailed coloring/writing. The cake turned out perfectly. Not only did they get the order correct, the design and colors, the cake was delicious and enjoyed by all. This is by far my best experience with a bakery and I would highly recommend.

I have done volunteer work there. I have working with the employees and enjoyed them. The pastries, cakes, cookies, and more are awsome, and well worth the price. Plus, your supporting a good cause. I met one gentleman working to put the ingredients for the item in the large mixer and press start. That mann had been assesed as unable to work. Now he has the knowledge and experience to have a job and build his selfesteem. The special work this bakery does for their employees is wonderful. I have done case mgmt for the seriously developmentally disabled. The excitment they feel over just having a job and they learn at the same time. After working there they were more confident and independant, it is wonderful to see.

Recently sent in a picture of a cake that I needed for a party. The picture was pretty straightforward and I made changes to the original design based on cake expert's advice. Day of the party my fiancé went into pick up the cake only to realize it was not even close to the picture that we sent in! I was scared and stressed because the party was only 2 hours away. The first lady on the phone was very rude and not very helpful. Eventually we were able to speak with someone else who said they needed a better picture of the cake that I wanted and would fix the problem within an hour. Cake problem solved! Finally the cake that I wanted. I am upset for a few reasons. If there was a problem with the original picture I sent Why didn't anybody contact me? Why couldn't changes be made to the cake based on the cake experts advice without it looking like a completely different cake? If I was able to post pictures of the picture I sent and the cake that was presented you would have seen the nightmare they presented my fiancé and why any customer would be upset! Because I have had good experiences with Sugarplum in the past and the taste of the cake is delicious I take away stars because Sugarplum has become complacent with their cake designs.

The mission of Sugar Plum Bakery is to serve the needs of persons with disabilities through employment, education and training. Sugar Plum Bakery will promote the integration of persons with developmental disabilities into society by helping them become independent and evolve into working contributing members of our communities. How can you not love a place like this? I heard so many things about Sugar Plum Bakery over the years and I promised myself that I would use them when I had an important cake order. Well surprise, my dad's 50th birthday is a big deal sooo. . here I was. . ordering for him. My dad's birthday is in the beginning of December however, family was in town for Thanksgiving. My boyfriend that it would be a good idea to do a small surprise during Thanksgiving for him. I ended up ordering the cake about two weeks early because I wouldn't have time to come in closer to the date. Ordering the cake was smooth. The team members helped me in building what I wanted. It came out a little more expensive than I thought it would be but I knew it was going to be worth it. I had ordered a custom Mozart cake. The batter was almond and the inside had Bavarian Cream & Peanut Butter. On the outside of a mozart was Butter cream topped with Fudge. . then I added Sprinkles to make it .. "festive" for the birthday! I had to pick up the cake before 4pm the day before Thanksgiving because of the adjustment of hours. When I walked in around 3, it was a mad house but I ended up getting help right away. Everyone was picking up their orders for the holiday. Also, it was cool how they already had premade cakes and pies on display for easy pick up. Both times I have came in, I would have to kindly pretend that I didn't want anything else BUT I DID. The cupcakes on display looked so good! I know I will be back. The cake was amazing and one of the best I had in while. I am excited to try other items on their cake list and also a pie and cupcake!

I've used Sugar Plum many times in the past for birthday cakes and the occasional doughnut craving ;) My fiancee and I just finished our wedding cake consultation and are MORE than Happy with our decision to have them provide THE most beautiful cake for our special day. There really arent words in the english language to sum up how INCREDIBLE each of the sample cakes were...it was a tough decision but the almond flavor cake was the one for us...oh did I mention that the filling we chose for between the layers is going to be Bavarian cream?!?! You wont believe the flavor!! Pure Heaven!!
