The only downside to this place is there are SO many options and you'll want to try them all so apologize in advance to your wallet and waistline. We enjoyed several pastries, all of them better than the last. My personal favorite from this visit was the hazelnut cake- such a spongey and light cake with a perfect hazelnut icing. The staff was super nice and patient with us (it took me a hot minute to decide what to get, there were FOUR DISPLAY CASES OF BEAUTIFUL BAKED GOODS) and the only reason I'm not coming here every other day is because I live an hour away. I just tried pastries this time but look forward to a visit to their bar as well, lots of Italian classics on their menu. If you haven't tried it here yet- go!

Virginia Beach's real authentic Italian Bakery. Breakfast, brunch or dinner, the food is profuse and spectacular. My first time here today I opted for the 2 for lunch special consisting of half a panini (I chose Michaelangelo) and house salad with house vinaigrette dressing. The focacio bread was delicious and everything was perfect in combination and quantity. The selection of cakes and deserts was off the charts. I had to choose several to go home with me. The owners were right there to make sure service and food was exemplary. This is definitely worth the trip. Very nice selection of wines as well.

Back and better than ever! Had lunch there today and let me tell you, I didn’t realize how much I had missed it. Our waitress was lovely and our food came quick and tasted fantastic. If you are ever looking for a local business to support come here! Not to mention their pastries and cookies are to DIE for! Take this from me and everyone who has always supported this wonderful place, WE MISSED YOU!

We really enjoyed the music and the food the night we went! Fabulous bakery and the Italian food is authentic. Having grown up in the NYC area, all four of our meals were excellent in taste and appearance! Would definitely go to Rigoletto Italian Bakery again!

Went there for lunch yesterday and everything we had was amazing!!! There paninis never fail to impress me and the pasta fagioli soup hit the spot!! I always have to get cookies when I go in! Their black and whites are my favorite!! The service was amazing! They were extremely busy and we were well taken care of! I am so glad they are back and as good as they always were.

Customer service was good except it would be great for the owner to come out and ask how everyone's food was. I overheard a couple complain about the mussels not tasting fresh. They were upset because the manager did not come out and take care of that they said they would not be returning because of no attention to a definite problem. Got The lobster claw pastry disappointed. Feeling by no means tasted like cannoli whip cream and custard tasted like Crisco. Very disappointing very disappointing I expected to be more authentic may try something else. At another visit..

Very pleasant! Gorgeous looking handmade desserts. The fry on the calamari was very light (just needed salt and pepper for taste), gnocchi was fluffy and seafood pasta was so fresh. Not a fan of their tomato sauce. Very pungent. Was it homemade? I was looking forward to the Italian cookies as they’re my favorite. Fresh but not much taste. A bit disappointing. Not like Queens, NY. Overall a nice visit. Just small details that gave it 4 stars.

We have been wanting to come to this restaurant to try there food for a long time. We have been to several restaurants that advertise real “authentic” Italian food and leave disappointed. With my husband being Italian and cooking authentic food at home he is a huge critic and was hoping to find a restaurant that could bring him what he has been searching for. Well we came and I’m so happy we did. Authentic is exactly what you get. From the sauces, to the deserts, it’s all amazing. You can come here and never be disappointed!! The stuffed meat ball and spaghetti was amazing. We also shared the Gnocchi! My husband is Italian and makes home made authentic food and he was truly impressed that they truly understood how Italian food taste with out all the artificial flavors you get at other restaurants. We also had the cannoli and baba and we were amazed of again the authentic taste and flavors! The restaurant is not over priced at all, we could go to other non authentic restaurants and spend so much more. We will no longer be going there. Next time we go we will be trying different dishes and wine. My husband makes authentic pasta carbarnara and I can’t wait to taste there’s. If you have been thinking of coming here do not wait any long you will not be disappointed!! Wish I could give it 10 stars.

Called ahead for reservations at 4:00 on Saturday for 8 people Been here before, food & service was good back then. Our waitress seated us and handed us each a menu. About 15 minutes later, everyone had decided what they were going to order. Our waitress comes to our table, gathers up the regular menus and hands us (2) paper menus with only some of the menu items on it and explains that they are doing a Soft Opening and are not offering all the items that is on the regular menu. Wish they had mentioned that when I called for reservations because as it turned out, two of the items that three of our guest had wanted were not being offered. Since their were (8) of us and she only gave us (2) menus, I asked if we could please have a few more. Her response was "you can take turns passing those around" and she walked away. Although the service was only one star and the food was just okay, we still tipped a little over 20% because we will save on disappointment in the future by not going there anymore.

What a cute little treasure this place is! I would have given 5 stars but I didn't care for the Michelangelo pastry or their receipt style. I had the opportunity to try several items and loved all but the Michelangelo. I found the chocolate icing lacking flavor, it was more like ding dong icing and I expected it to be better quality chocolate than that. The employees are all very genial and warm hearted. There are plenty of cute booths to sit and grab a bite to eat, or to enjoy a sweet treat with coffee. There's a great atmosphere, if they had some soft 40s bistro music playing that would have been more enjoyable. I prefer a receipt that breaks down my order, the one I received only shows my total overall cost. Cookies are sold by weight, not by piece, they really should sell those by the piece instead, but whatever. There was a quiet but steady stream of customers, they also will do wedding cakes but I don't know the details for those. I just overheard an employee mention this to a customer who asked. All in all, this is a solid 4.5 for me. I'm adding some photos but they're not as great as others posted. Give this place a look see, get a treat to try them out. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you do. NOTE: This would be a wonderful place to bring a date for date night.

Really good Italian food. Been looking for a legit Italian place for awhile. The baked ziti could use meat and in it's sauce. All in all, not a bad place, pretty good food but a bit pricey. If everything was like a few $$ cheaper, it'd be a perfect place.

We had Rigoletto make our three-tier cake as well as an assortment of authentic desserts (sfogliatella, tiramisu, black and whites, jam cookies, cannoli, etc.) for out wedding in the beginning of September. My family is Italian from New Jersey so we definitely needed the best and Rigoletto more than exceeded our expectations. Everything was amazing and the staff was incredibly nice and a pleasure to work with. We cannot recommend Rigoletto enough. They are hands down the best Italian bakery in the 757.

Fantastic place! Open 9-3 on Sundays. I had a Choose Your Own scrambler. Breakfast choices are limited after 11 a.m. Perfect size lunch dishes with plenty of mix n match choices. Panini are large & many interesting choices. Italian dishes are garlicky but good. The full bakery is available as well as cappuccinos with 20 some flavor options & bar with brunch specialty drinks. Friendly wait staff & good coffee; we're going back for a weekday supper.

This place was such a great find. I wanted Italian cookies to go with my wedding cake and this place was so perfect. I live in NC but this place was worth the drive. My aunt always brings us these cookies from the Bronx and these from Va Beach were just as good !!! I’m so glad I was able to find these and can’t wait to go back again! Worth the drive! Visited during September on vacation, recommended by Guy Fieri. I wish this place was close to me! The carrot cheesecake was to die for, as well as the cannoli’s and the cannoli cake. Overall a really great Italian bakery with a nice atmosphere and pleasant & helpful staff. Can’t wait to visit again when I’m back in VA.

Every item the group ordered was warm, fresh, and delicious! The service is helpful and friendly. The meatball is huge and caprese salad is tasty. The portions are appropriate. The desserts selection is out of this world including the traditional ones like cannoli, pignoli cookies, carrot cake and wedding cookies. Plenty of chocolate options, too. Over 50 options!

I ordered an Anniversary Cake from Rigoletto, delivered to our rental home in Sandbridge VA, last weekend. It was both beautiful and delicious. Communicating with Jessie was easy. The fresh flowers were gorgeous, the sweetness was just right, and everyone loved it. Well done!

Nothing short of exceptional authentic Italian cuisine! This place is the real deal. When you walk in you are greeted with the most pleasant aromas of food. They have an excellent selection of holiday treats and wide variety of wine. You’ll find the owner in the kitchen working hard on her recipes and her staff does a wonderful job answering questions and taking care of patrons. I came in to pick up a catering order for an office party and there was not a single bite leftover! Absolutely delicious!

We got catered food for my wife's birthday. It was hot and ready on time and delicious. We got the meatballs, spaghetti and chicken marsala with pasta. It kept perfectly in the warm oven until serving time. A great stress free way the have a party!

We randomly stopped here and it was awesome. The two women working behind the counter were genuine and friendly. They greeted us as soon as we walked in and helped us make our to go order selections. The salad is huge. The sausage/peppers are yum but the real head turner was the pizza bread. Prices were good and the products are excellent. We will be back. If you like desserts this is the place to go. At least 4 cases of pastries and sweet treats. Support local and check it out

They did a great job preparing 4 trays of food for a birthday party. The food was hot (meat balls, 3 cheese pasta, eggplant parm and chicken parm) and many people commented how much they enjoyed the meal. Thank you to all the staff.

They saved the day for me when I had to order a cheesecake last minute. This is not a cheesecake with graham cracker crust, just straight cheesecake. It is also more of a "whipped" rather than dense cheesecake. Requested a layer of ganache on top and drizzled with my own strawberry topping. A bit pricey, but the quality made it well worth it. By far one of the best cheesecakes I have ever had, delicious!

The stuffed meatball is huge and served with delicious red sauce. The bakery cases were filled with everything a sweet tooth could desire. I was greeted upon arrival and both ladies were very helpful and polite. I will definitely be stopping back in next time we are in town.

We had dinner here for the first time tonight. First, our waitress was amazing. She was quick and efficient and didn’t even write our orders down and got them perfect! Secondly she was great with our 16 month old son. She asked if we would like to rush his food out and that was a great idea. She also shared some of her favorites and she was absolutely right. The stuffed meatball is amazing. I also had the chicken Parmesan which was delicious. My spouse had a panini which was stuffed and very flavorful. They also had a really great entertainer who played the piano and sings. We took home two desserts which we tried later tonight and they were delicious. I would very highly recommend this restaurant. I grew up in Brooklyn and am Italian, this is the best Italian food I’ve had in VB since moving here 3 years ago. It has a charm that is definitely unbeatable. I will definitely be coming back again!

My son and I just love the food and atmosphere at this wonderful family owned Italian restaurant! They have a wide and varied menu of delicious homemade food. The desserts are all made there on the premises and the selection is amazingly large and varied. I love their wide selection of homemade biscotti, at any one time they have at least a dozen different flavor combinations. Great laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. Can't recommend it enough!

Both times just absolutely amazed me the cake is out of this world delicious and all I have done was said the theme for his birthday and they have free range. Both times their cake decorating skills absolutely amazed me! I was born and raised in Argentina with a heavy Italian influence. I cook my own pasta from scratch and make homemade salami because I can’t seem to find the right Italian dish. I am also into food more than I am an eater, so I always assess food objectively. I am critical about my dinning experiences. I only write reviews when it’s positive. Rigoletto’s is hands down the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been too, anywhere. Their gnocchi is perfect, their frutti di mare linguini is perfect. Everything they put on the table is perfect. I’ve become lazy about making my own Italian because of this place. This restaurant is superbly underrated. It merits six stars and more. I could go on but you catch my drift. They understand Italian food.

I'm going to give this the most honest and fair review possible, without sounding like a constant complainer. This was the first time I ate here and it came highly recommended from family members. The food was very well portioned, even the half sizes were filling. Everything was delicious and the environment was very pleasant as well. The only complaint was we had two elderly members in our party and one was using a walker. The waitress seemed annoyed she had to move two small tables together to accommodate our party of six. My uncle (the one with the walker) seen her frustration and tried to help. The young waitress clearly and sternly told him to "back off". My mother told her that was uncalled for and the waitress rolled her eyes and walked away. Not sure if someone spoke to her and corrected her, halfway through the service her attitude seemed to change and became very nice and respectful. Overall I would definitely go back and eat there in the future.

Excellent food and service!! Pasta dishes we had; Vodka, Mediterranean, and Basil were absolutely delicious! The salad and breads were also very good! Unfortunately didn't leave room for dessert, but oh did they ever look unbelievably wonderful...next time, for sure! A must go to restaurant!!!!

Stopped in for coffee and dessert today, and everything was wonderful! The waitstaff were all very friendly and patient (the pastry cases definitely deserve several minutes of your attention) The lattes were perfect, and the Cannolis were absolutely spot on, as were the cakes Will absolutely be returning, and hopefully trying their dinner menu next time

We ate lunch here recently and really enjoyed the sandwiches. Additionally, we picked up some cookies as a thank you gift, and of course had to get some for ourselves. Even though I haven't enjoyed most italian bakery cookies (all seem to taste the same/of almond), I picked from a wide array (and wish I had looked around the corner at the other cases before my box was full!). Over dinner with friends, everyone had a favorite but all agreed that all had the perfect cookie texture (just enough butter, but not too short) and we'd definitely be picking up more. My personal fav was the wedding cookie. Apricot was a big hit as was the raspberry.....and take a less from me.... look around the corner before your box is full! Ciao.

End to end review...place was clean and the pastry displays were full and very tempting...ordered the sandwich featured on DDD and LOVED it!!! We got the steak as well as the chicken versions. We weren't disappointed at all, the bread was awesome and the steak was very tender and you could really taste the marsala wine just needed some seasoning because the tomatoes were out of season and not very tasty...great options to choose...and don't forget the variety of sweet. We took home a sampling of the Red Velvet Cheesecake cake and the Chocolate Cheesecake cake both were good but a little too dense for my liking. Would recommend you try one of the cake rolls as they appear to be the house specialties and come in a variety of flavors. Overall a great place to dine, will definitely revisit the next time I'm in VA Beach!!!

Okay, so I saw this place on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and decided I had to give it a try. I lived less than an hour away (and I went to the gym less than 15 mins from here). I was blown away! The food here is outstanding, to say the least. However, the bakery is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I was hooked at first bite I visited this restaurant every Monday (my day off) until I moved away from the area. I sampled several items from the menu, all of which were absolutely delicious... but the REAL reason I kept returning was to stock up on the homemade confections. There are a plethora of divine creations to choose from, each as mouth-watering as the next. These two ladies (mother and daughter) are world class bakers. The ingredients in their authentic Italian deserts are all imported and stand head and shoulders above anything else around. I could not begin to describe the array of choices and flavors that abound. This little gem is hidden away in a plaza on the outskirts of Virginia Beach, WELL worth the drive. You'll be going back again and again once you find it. BRAVO

The food is amazing, both the dine in food and that in the bakery case. I had my first cappuccino here, and it was divine, especially with the double chocolate biscotti. My husband and I took several biscotti , along with cannoli, home. The only complaint I had was the slowness in getting our food.

Came here with my family the other night and it was everything I could have hoped for. Saw this place featured on the Food Network a few years ago and have been wanting to come ever since. Just moved back to the area and I had to try it. The stuffed meatball was unbelievable. Melts in your mouth. The calamari was delicious as well. My mom had the gnocchi, dad had the steak panini, son had the Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and I had a Chicken Parmesan sandwich. Everything was so insanely delicious. The staff was extremely nice and the atmosphere was wonderful. My mother in law and husband were born and raised in Sardegna, Italy and this is definitely a place I can bring them to and know they will enjoy. They also have dessert cases with beautiful treats. We brought home a few things to try and we loved them all. My favorite by far was the slice of cake that has limoncello and a raspberry type of icing. Prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

We had dinner here for the first time last Friday, & I cannot recommend them more highly. Walking into the place is like coming home. I literally felt like I'd walked into my grandparents house & sat down for supper in the kitchen. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, & lively. There was a gentleman playing the piano, but he was playing for the sheer joy of playing & would change the song or drift into a different tune whenever he was inspired to do so, so the piano was never quiet with a pause between songs- & I loved every minute of it! It was the best literal example of the line "And the piano, it sounds like a carnival", from Billy Joel's "The Piano Man" that one could experience in a restaurant, in Virginia Beach, or anywhere for that matter. The waitress suggested a wonderful bottle of "Lodali" Moscato d' Asti, (that is still the best Moscato we've ever had) & our meals were delivered very quickly, which is surprising b/c you can tell they cook to order. The pasta Alfredo w/chicken was to die for- the best I've ever had, & the serving was big enough that my leftovers alone provided supper for both my Husband & myself the following evening. Prices are more than reasonable, especially for the quality & quantity. There are 3 full dessert cases full of equally gorgeous & delicious cakes, pies, & pastries, including THE BEST Napoleon's & Elephant Ears I've ever tasted! Love, Love, LOVE this place! 😍💖🍷🍝🍰

This is my new favorite place! The stuffed meatballs were incredible, vegetable panani was delightful and the fish sandwich was excellent. But don't miss out on the she crab soup. Then the desserts! Oh my! Chosing was the most difficult thing I did in a while. One looked better than the next and there were several cases. Cookies, biscotti, canoli, cheesecakes, bars and cakes. I'm sure I am missing something but I wanted a bite of everything. We ordered 3 different desserts and each was like a dream. The staff wasn't just there for a tip. They seemed invested and believe in the deli and how lovingly everything is made. This is not a large restaurant, it's not on a main road so you will have to set your GPS to the address. Next time you go out to eat or just want a beautiful sweet treat, this is your place.

Great food and they accommodated our large group. But when it was time to pay, they threw me a curve - can't put the tip on credit card! The bill was substantial, so I had to go to some of my guests to borrow cash for the tip. Lost them a star on their review and caused me a lot of stress. Still, the food's good.

My granddaughter turning 10 had a specific idea of a birthday cake and we had a hard time finding a bakery to accommodate us, so, as a last resort we commissioned this cake to Rigoletto. The cake was wonderful and exactly what we wanted. The colors of the frosting were perfect, the combination two tier vanilla/chocolate mousse filling chocolate cake was perfect down to the marzipan bow as decoration. Everyone at the party commented on the presentation and the delicious taste. My daughter calls it ' the go-to bakery'

High quality, delicious food at reasonable prices. Huge selection of specialty baked goods--cannoli, biscotti, amaretti, tortas, cheesecakes, and more. My salad was fresh with homemade vinaigrette and no iceberg lettuce! My panino was perfectly toasted and had luscious fresh mozzarella in it. Great service, helpful people. It's a local gem!

Had a nice lunch. For appetizer we ordered the caprese salad. It came with focaccia bread. The texture of the bread with all the nooks and crannies was delicious. I ordered the Al Capone and she crab soup. The soup was so rich and creamy, I used some of the leftover focaccia bread to sop up the last of it. The humongous half Al Capone is a pressed panini that contains smoked turkey, Swiss, bacon, lettuce and tomato. This panini was delicious and the perfect compliment to the soup. The server and staff were very friendly and even gave us a business card. We came back later for chicken parmigiana (lunch for my son), 8 cannoli, Italian wedding cookies and a gigantic chocolate eclair. I must say the cannoli' are my favorite, not so much the eclair. The eclair custard was nice but the chocolate topping was too thick. It was large enough to give 4 adults a taste. The lunch was reasonably priced but the deserts were by no means inexpensive. And the wait staff seemed a bit more on edge. Probably because it was so busy. All in all I Definitely recommend you dine here. That she crab 🦀 soup is worth the trip.

The paninis were HUGE (homemade focaccia! these ladies aren't joking around!) and so very delicious. I'm eating a giant eclair right now. At the recommendation of a baker at one of our local grocers, I went to Rigoletto's specifically to purchase cannoli and Italian Rum Cakes. I was not disappointed. Originally from Boston, I am used to quality Italian pastries that taste like they were purchases in Rome or Naples. Rigoletto's is the only bakery in Virginia Beach that produces a product of this quality. It was my first trip to the bakery and café, but it won't be my last. I can understand why Guy Fieri rated it so highly.

Rigoletto is the best! Gilda, the owner, is originally from Italy. She makes the Foccacia for the paninis every day. Try the Alla Antonio for breakfast! Lovely place, service was patient and lovely, food was great, I got the Al Capone panini with prosciutto instead of bacon, good portion of meat and other fillings, a wee bit crunchier for my taste, but I’m not picky, deserts are clearly carefully made just based on texture alone, for the most part, I will recommend that the meatballs have more seasoning though, like some garlic and basil, and maybe some spreads for the paninis, but that’s just how I’d do it, other than that, good place to grab a bite.
