I drove 40 min to get to this donut shop. When I entered, the delicious smell of dough and sugar greeted my nose. I am a donut fanatic, and have been looking all over the Tampa Bay Area for a good donut. What is considered a good donut you may be asking? It is a donut with perfectly risen dough, that isn’t overly sweet to balance the sweetness of the icing and/or toppings on the donut. That, in my opinion defines a good donut. I’ve been to so many places around and the dough is simply not good. They are either too sweet or have an odd taste. When I tried Nicola’s donuts, I had an amazing experience. I had finally found the perfect donut in the Tampa Bay Area, after many failed trips to other shops. The donut was balanced, had great icing flavor, and amazing dough flavor. Everything was perfect. I also enjoyed the iced coffee. This will be my go-to donut shop. Diane was also incredibly sweet and kind to my family. Thank you so much!

Look I have been waiting to try these donuts for years. They are a local donut shop and I must say they are worth waking up early for. All the donuts I have tried thus are a amazing. The coconut one is really rich and flavorful. The croissant glazed square is so good and flakey. The jelly filled one is tasty and generously filled. You can tell the dough is made in house and fried there because it's crisp while also being soft. I got a HUGE Cinnamon roll for like 2.75 and a dozen for 15. Totally worth it. I hope everyone gets to try these donuts.

Donuts were fantastic. Now we know where to get donuts anytime we are in Tampa. We purchased a large variety, the Strawberry Shortcake was, so far, the best. Although, my wife loved the croissant donut. We met the owner, friendly guy. The place was very clean, this was an excellent shop. If you have never been, what are you waiting for? Thank you for the donuts and we will see you for Iron Maiden 👍🍩

I Challenge you to find a better Donut shop in Tampa Bay. Fresh hand made donuts in all the flavors you expect and some you didnt! Get there early because they'll sell out. Try the Cronut!

First time stopping here and I have seen this place for years. I just wanted coffee and my wife and I ended up getting 2 donuts and coffee. We will be back and I will recommend this place for donuts and their house brew coffee.

My husband brought home two heavy and very good looking donuts the other day that he got from his place of work. He works third shift and someone who works Nicolas, which is down the street from where he works, stopped by to give some extras to the community. When he got home that morning, they were still warm. I could tell these donuts were going to be good by the way they looked, felt, and smelled. I took the first bite and was hit with so much joy-I had never tasted a donut this fresh, balanced, and this delicious EVER.! I have had handmade crafted donuts before but these are probably the best of the best. If you are looking for donuts that exceed quality and taste, get yourself a dozen of these babies. They sell out fast so get them as early as possible.

This place has the BEST gourmet donuts in all of Tampa!! I've been going here for many years and though they've changed owners, they have remained consistent with their product and that's impressive because a lot of places lose that when they change ownership. BTW their donuts are large, unlike the other donut shops that are about half the size and don't have as much flavor. You definitely won't be disappointed here

My family and I were in the Tampa area recently and wanted to try a gourmet doughnut shop. We looked some up and came across this little gem. Although we arrived just as they were beginning to close up shop, we still managed to grab a few tasty treats and, we were NOT disappointed! My only regret? Not being able to visit again before we left the area. Hands down, some of THE best doughnuts I’ve ever tasted!

Nicola’s Donuts are the perfect representation of a hidden gem. Donuts (vegan and non-vegan) have unique and distinct flavors and the service is 10/10. Totally recommend for an early morning donut for your tea/coffee.
