Wow is all we can say! Marie is not only sweet, she is very creative and artistic in her designs. The "sugar flower" design she created on the cake was so intricate, it looked real. We would highly recommend "Hand On Sweet" for your wedding cake choice. And not a surprise, the cake was also delicious and liked by all the guest.

As a wedding planner, having professionals I can count on to deliver fantastic work consistently is a necessity. Chef Marie hits it out of the park every time! In early 2022, another bakery unexpectedly closed and left me without a cake 3 weeks before a wedding. Luckily, I was able to call Chef Marie and she squeezed me into her packed schedule and delivered a work of art. My clients were smiling ear to ear when I showed them the cake, and the guests were blown away. Chef Marie, thank you for going above and beyond for me every time! Chef Marie, is such a sweet and fun person. Not only that, she and her husband make amazing cakes! I merely googled wedding cakes in Tampa and their reviews and pictures stood out to me the most. We had a tiramasu cake with salted caramel buttercream. It was amazing and they designed it so beautifully!! I highly recommend them for any event.

While they specialize in wedding cakes, they are incredible at making other cakes too! We ordered a Winnie the Pooh hunny pot cake for our daughter’s birthday party and it was stunning! The details of the cake were beyond perfect and it was delicious!

This great tampa couple did my daughters 3rd birthday cake a couple years back. They did such an amazing job. Their specialty is wedding cakes but when i was running out of options I chose them! (They are pretty pricey but that’s because they deliver QUALITY) I’m glad I did though because in my search for someone to design her cake no one was willing to do exactly what I wanted. Hands On Sweets told me they would make it exactly as I requested and there wouldn’t be any issues and that’s exactly what they delivered. They delivered to the party and laid everything down and asked if I had any concerns or if I was happy with my service. I ordered a cake, cookies and matching cake pops. Unicorn themed! Everything tasted as good as it looked! I’m not sure why I took so long to make this review years later BUT they deserve 5 stars! Better late than never! Thank you for such a beautiful memory my daughter will have to look back at.

Chef Marie is absolutely amazing to work with. We first met her at a wedding expo and fell in love with her beautiful designs and delicious cakes and knew that we wanted to have her create our perfect wedding cake. During the initial consultation, Marie was wonderful at helping guide us and create a vision for our cake based on all of the details/elements that were important to us. It was difficult at first for us to completely envision what we wanted, but Marie was able to quickly take our thoughts and put together a perfect sketch/representation to match our overall theme. The cake tasting was one of our favorite parts of the entire wedding planning process and Marie was able to offer some really great recommendations as far as pairings for cake flavors & fillings. Every cake and filling we tasted was absolutely amazing. We had such a hard time deciding which we liked best that we ended up going with two different flavor options. Seeing the cake brought to life on our actual wedding day was incredible. The cake itself was stunning and we can honestly say it was just as excellent of quality and flavor on the wedding day as when we did our initial tasting. We also had Marie make custom cookies as take-home treats for our wedding guests which also turned out perfect - everyone loved them! We truly love Marie's work and would highly recommend Hands on Sweets for any important event cake/pastry/dessert needs!

Chef Marie and her husband Carlos are the *SWEETEST* people to work with. Their energy and passion for what they do really shows in their work. You can see how detail oriented their cakes are and how much time and effort goes into them. We had a customized Groot cake for our grooms cake and it turned out better than I imagined it would. They were very eager to help us through the problems we encountered along the way and really made our experience overall fantastic!

Chef Marie is absolutely incredible! The photo of our wedding cake speaks for itself! Not only was it an amazing work of art, it was amazingly delicious! She took her time to design the cake to match my wedding flowers and theme. She was very communicative and responsive every step of the way and even gave me referrals for other vendors. She provided us a tasting, and deciding amongst all of the flavors was probably our toughest wedding decision! We will definitely be looking for an excuse to use Chef Marie again :)

The dessert table was not only delicious but everything looked so pretty you didn’t want to eat it!! We loved working with Chef Marie, the tasting was our favorite part of wedding planning (she made it like a buffet!) - and our wedding cake was great. It was beautifully decorated and light, moist and not-too-sweet. Exactly what we asked for. The WOW was the grooms cake, though! My husband and I had our first date over cheesecake, so we really wanted to incorporate it into the wedding somehow. We worked with Chef Marie to come up with a cheesecake-red velvet layered cake for the grooms cake, and we casually told her it was beach themed and showed her the cake topper. We did not think much of it... the end results was breathtakingly beautiful. One of the most beautiful and most delicious cakes I have EVER had. THEN, since we were concerned we would not have any at our wedding, she made us a second small groomscake with all of the stunning sugar shells and beautiful details of the original. Talk about going above and beyond. She is an artist - both of flavor and design. You will love her.

Hands on Sweets made our wedding cake and "thank you gift" macaroons for our May 2021 wedding. We were SO pleased with the experience working with Chef Marie and their end product. When communicating with Chef Marie at the beginning of the wedding planning process, she helped us tremendously by putting together a potential "look" for our wedding cake based on "vision" photos we sent to her. Her suggestion is what we selected and it was stunning. We LOVED the uniqueness of their flavors too - we opted to have part of our cake be carrot cake with guava filling, and it was delicious! The other flavor we had was pink champagne cake with cream cheese filling, which was also incredible. We added macaroons as thank you gifts, and to this day, our attendees tell us that they were the best ones they have ever had! Thank you to Chef Marie for helping make our wedding absolutely perfect!!

After searching all over the Tampa area and surroundings, we narrowed it down to 3 bakers. After the tasting it was HANDS ON SWEET that caught our attention. The cake was moist and fresh. The frosting was just right. But the fillings were the best. It was like having a party of flavors. It was so hard to choose a favorite. They were all so good. Working with Chef Marie was excellent. Hands on Sweets is amazing! Their cakes are delicious. It was so hard deciding what flavor to go with which, in my opinion, is a pretty good problem to have. I gave Chef Marie a really rough idea about what I wanted my cake to look like and she sketched out something more beautiful than I could have imagined. Chef Marie and her husband are AMAZING. When I started searching for a baker for my wedding I had no idea where to begin. Chef Marie helped me with any questions I had and we set up a tasting. We went to her shop for our tasting and I fell in love! We tried several different cake variations, and loved so many of them we couldn't decide what we wanted our wedding cake to be. Chef Marie made our wedding cake with three tiers all different flavors! She was absolutely amazing and made our wedding day experience a day we will never forget! Chef Marie did our cake for our wedding last year, and it was such a big hit, everyone loved it and it was the best cake I have ever had. We froze the topper to save for our 1-year anniversary, and I just had to say that it was just amazing, even after the 1-year freeze! From what I have heard, this is usually not the case, as cakes tend to dry out in the freezer. Not our cake! Hands On Sweets just does the best cakes and I could not recommend them more! Chef Marie was also very easy to work with and very responsive.

Wow, Hands on Sweets was hands down amazing!!!!! The cake tasting experience was the best part of wedding planning! Chef Marie and Chef Carlos were so pleasant and we had such a great time trying all of the flavors with them. Our cake was not only gorgeous, but the most delicious cake we have ever had! Just thinking about our Pink Champagne Cake with Strawberry Coulis and Cream Cheese Icing and Amaretto Chiffon Cake layered with Raspberry Coulis, Cream Cheese Icing, and Chocolate Ganache makes my mouth water. After doing lots of shopping and cake tasting around the entirety of Tampa bay area (I research everything), I found this gem, Hands on Sweets. The team of two lovely couple make THE BEST CAKES I HAVE EVER TASTED. The tasting event went quickly from discussing details to admiration of the cake and the perfectly balanced taste. I never even thought fondant is this delicious. We talked with them about the design and months later, they delivered. It was PERFECT. I don't think I can get this from anywhere else. I can’t even begin to express how incredibly amazing Carlos and marie are. I had a vision of a huge Italian Viennese hour at my wedding, and they brought that to life and far exceeded every single expectation I had. They brought a dream to life for me, and I could not have been more impressed with the quality of their work, their attention to detail and the beauty of the presentation. The presentation was colorful and within our color scheme, everything was carefully displayed at different heights and depths so it all came together beautifully, and they provided a wide variety of different textures so there was something for every guest to enjoy. They put together a huge dessert display, 4 tables wide, and it was stunning. Aside from the fact that everything was absolutely delicious, it was beautiful. Carlos and Marie are the sweetest people, and it was worth every penny I spent on it. I even brought a few Italian desserts in from our caterer and they graciously plated and presented it alongside all of their beautiful desserts. I will never use another dessert vendor for any party or event as long as Carlos and Marie are still in business!!

I attended a wedding in Tampa a couple of weeks ago and I have to say that even though I really don't like wedding cakes, this one by FAR has been one of the best wedding cakes I have ever tried. I got to meet Chef Marie and her husband as the bride was a close friend of mine and I need to say that they are extremely nice people and very pleasing. I read some reviews down below and it is very sad to see how people try to destroy what others have created with so much effort and hard work! Chef Marie and her husband were both born and raised in Puerto Rico so it would be almost impossible for them to be racists. Get a life people and enjoy the SWEET treats in it!

WOW WOW WOW. Ordered a cake for a friends Birthday over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was wonderful. The cake was adorned with beautiful fall leaves. It was just perfect and so so yummy. Wow that is sad that these folks had a bad experience with Chef Marie and Carlos at Hand on Sweet, that has not been my experience thus far with this company. First of, for all people reading the reviews please notice that somebody must have rallied all their troops to try to trash these guy's reputation. We have been working with Hands on Sweet for a year now because when it comes to desserts, cakes and candy bars these guys know their stuff. The cakes here not only look amazing they taste wonderful. You have an idea in mind, Chef Marie brings it to life. My wife and I had a Dia de los Muertos party this weekend and we ordered mini cupcakes for our guests from Hands on Sweet. Those cupcakes didn't last too long on the display, they were delicious and all our guests loved them. I am very pleased with their service and it truly breaks my heart to have to read messages like the previous ones. If you are planning your special event and need a unique cake trust Chef Marie from Hands on Sweet for the best service, price and display. Perfection! This cake was divine! We had a little hiccup the day of and their staff went above and beyond to deliver a beautiful cake. Being a skeptic, I wasn't sure they could pull of a flawless cake, but they did. I personally don't like butter cream, but this butter cream was heaven, the cake was so moist and sublime. My wife and I have known Chef Marie professionally for going on five years, and we KNOW that she and her husband Carlos are the most professional people in the business. We saw the cake topper that the other people are talking about and it is a handmade sugar paste couple. It certainly is not a Michelangelo, it is an edible product. Nobody can make a life like rendering of a human out of sugar paste or modeling chocolate. No matter the color of the people in the topper, the depiction would have had a bit of a cartoon quality because the nature of the material. We are sure there was no insult intended and it is unreasonable to take offense. As to cold cake, bakeries are required by law to keep cakes cold prior to delivery. The nature of these high end cakes is they are made with real, very expensive butter, not Crisco like you find in the cheap cakes at a supermarket. The cake should have been allowed to come to room temperature before serving. Typically, in most receptions, the cake is the last item served and has had time to warm.

I've had the pleasure of knowing both Chef Ramirez and Chef Marie for many years now, both personally and professionally. Working with Chef Ramirez has been always a treat. Nobody is as professional, accomodating, and passionate about his work. As a Chef myself, I can personally vouch for them. When I see and read the few negative comments in this page it makes me think that those individuals are actively trying to damage the image and reputation of both the business and the individuals. If you don't like the cake for whatever reason, you most definitely can share your opinion, but attacking two individuals, in a very personal way, is not the proper use of this forum, and quite frankly, shows ignorance. It is also very interesting to see that most of these reviews give them 5 stars except for the few outliers. Very easy to assess. I for one can't wait to make the trip to Tampa to try the amazing delicacies almost everyone is raving about.
