I just want to say THANK YOU for making our gender reveal even more memorable!! We had a last minute order because our other baker was out sick and THANKFULLY CakesPlus was able to fit us into their schedule! We put in the order on Wednesday and the chef was able to bake a beautiful 4 tier cake for the coming Saturday , we weren’t too picky on design, we didn’t know the flavor either but it turned out to be wedding almond cake flavor, my absolute favorite and the icing was beautiful! It was a great surprise to cut into it and see we were having a boy! It was a last minute order but everything went smoothly and they were quick to respond to my emails and calls! It tasted amazing, on time, friendly & I will absolutely be ordering all of our special event cakes here from now on! We absolutely loved our gender reveal cake thank you again!

This place goes ABOVE AND BEYOND. I came in less than 24 hours before needing my cake…I didn’t expect to be able to get a cake. They made it work. They were so polite and friendly. I couldn’t IMAGINE my cake would turn out this amazing. I simply gave them a theme and small picture of the character and they made artwork out of it for me. They really put in the extra time and detail to make my cake look beautiful. I am so happy, thank you so much for making my birthday more special. 10/10 stars. Thank you!!

We ordered this cake about a week prior to our event to feed about 45-50 people. It turned out so beautiful! The vanilla cake and buttercream frosting was so delicious and moist. The cake was a big hit for our party, thank you Cakes Plus! Will definitely be ordering more for future events.

I love this place for when I want my cake to be EXTRA special. I order two months in advance. I get the raspberry filling. The drive is 50 minutes but it is huge worth it for me. I email and pay with pay pal and I go pick my cake up on the day I choose.

I needed personalized holiday cookies in a pinch after another bakery let me down. I was using the personalized holiday cookies as the "place card" for each of our employees' names for our company luncheon at Ocean Prime, to be also a parting favor and to add a special touch to the place setting. I walked in to Cakes Plus on a Saturday before the event as I just happened to look up "local bakeries" - I was nearby and decided to give Cake Plus a shot - it's been here over 30 years and I was NOT aware they were here! I was greated by, I believe her name is Nina, the wife of the Chef Mario who was so friendly and sweet. I told her my predicament, luckily I had pictures in my purse of the cookies I was looking for - "ornaments styles - with eah person's names (there were 13). I needed these personalized and ready by 9 am that upcoming Wednesday. While there, she let me sample one of their cakes and I was brought back to my childhood of when they made cakes so special - it was so good! Let me say that Chef Mario delivered what I wanted for sure! Not only were they beautiful and exactly what I was looking for, but these are probably one of the best tasting cookies ever! Everyone loved the personalized touch at the luncheon as they went to find their names to see their assigned seating. I am definately coming back for more!

I am always amazed with Cakes Plus! This is my second time ordering a custom cake from them. First time was my husbands 30th birthday and this time was for our baby shower! Not to mention I stop in occasionally to get a personal size cake for myself and an espresso from the counter (they have multiple personal size options). If I lived closer I would be there more often! Back to this cake, they took my multiple visions and ran with it! They went beyond my expectations AGAIN. I showed Cakes Plus 2 different ideas and also incorporated some of their own decor and voila! Seriously not only do their cakes look good but they taste even better! - I'm serious. There was not one piece of cake left over from our party. No one said "oh just a little piece" no, no, I only got one slice. This cake melts in your mouth. My mother in law was like "just get a Publix cake".. no, this cake is heavenly and made with love. (Especially being pregnant this made my shower). Anyways! You will not be disappointed, GO TO CAKES PLUS!!! Also they are family owned and operated, mother son duo! What could be better? 30 years of family love in this shop.

I was in search of a Strawberry flavored cake with Strawberry icing. My sons request for his B-day. So of course in true guy fashion I wait until the last minute. And much to my amazement, strawberry cakes are not the norm on the last day of September, apparently something called pumpkin is....who knew. Anyway my brother recommended Cakes Plus in Tampa, and boom, they didn’t have a strawberry cake either, but what they did have is individually packaged strawberry flavored, strawberry icing cupcakes. My daughter and I stumbled on to Cakes Plus while looking for a baker to do a specialty cake for her baby shower. All of the decorations are our own, however the tiered Zebra and Giraffe is what they created for us. The cake was delicious, moist and a unique flavor. We had her party outside at a park. As you can tell the cake held up quite nicely in Florida heat!!!! Every single person at the party LOVED the cake. I barely had leftovers. Thank you again Cakes Plus!

I stopped in just to see what they had for a birthday cake and I am so glad I did !! After talking with the super nice lady in the front she explained the cakes in the case to purchase (not special order). I bought a single piece without frosting to try because I had never had that type of pound cake it was so good I quickly went back in and bought the birthday cake she was so sweet and wrote beautifully on it for me . That night when we had the cake at dinner it’s as even more delicious with the frosting ! I absolutely 100% will be buying all my cakes from there I am obsessed!!! I can’t explain what was in the pound cake but it was perfectly sweet and moist! If you need a cake for a special occasion or just because it’s a definite must try! Thank you Cake Plus!!

I needed a last minute cookie delivery in South Tampa. I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area and shipping cookies wasn't a good option for fear of breaking. I reached out to this bakery and they were able to fill my order quickly and provide delivery. My friend who I sent the cookies to said they were delicious and beautifully decorated. I had forgotten to order my daughter’s wedding shower cake and went to Cakes Plus almost in tears since this was Friday and the shower is on Sunday. I was greeted by helpful staff showing me what they had availabile on such short notice. Again, I was downhearted because the cakes, nice as they are, were no where near what they usually design for me. I wandered around trying to think how I could upgrade the cake when Mario asked if he could help. I cannot tell you how relived I was when he said can you trust us to do something for you in her colors. I excitedly said yes. My husband and I picked this up today. In just hours Anastasia decorated cakes they had in the back. You guys rock!

Stoped in today due to waiting for my table to be ready at ihop and I’m so glad I did. Honestly was just checking it out just to see what they had but after trying a free sample of the pound cake I had to buy one. Cake is one of the best I’ve every had. Super moist and the icing slaps you in the best way possible. My only regret was I was on my way to the air show and couldn’t buy more. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area. If you are reading this and haven’t tried the pound cake you don’t understand what your missing.

Voted #1 Cake in Tampa Bay and U.S.A. Tom Brady move over, Tampa Bay has a Cake Boss in South Tampa. I went in for a custom birthday cake, what an amazing place. Of course, I had to sample to make my final decision. So many decisions, its sure different than others. It has an amazing flavor surely doesn't give you that over powering sugar rush. I left the store with cupcakes for dessert for my family. They loved them, I fell in love with all flavors. However, the Guava is amazing. Thank you, Suzy Rich approved. Sugar Grove, Illinois.

They made this cake for me back in August, had not had a chance to post review. The owner is a really cool guy. I actually had to cancel the cake order and move by a week from original date I requested. There was no fees for the reschedule. It was made for a boy-girl birthday he did awesome on both tiers. Even had a real strawberry filling between the layers. I asked for Paw Patrol theme and it was spot on !! "I added the characters to cake" because of copy right stuff. All the kids loved it !!

When you walk into this place, you feel at home. Like at your aunt and uncles who want to make sure you have everything you need. They are just warm people and I know that God will continue to bless them and their business. I mention these things first because they are what is most important to me. Secondly, the communication was great and my cake was ready when they said it would be. I purchased a cake for my best friends 32nd birthday and it is BEAUTIFUL. Just what I asked for and more. I know it will taste delicious because the wife gave me a sample of pound cake that was BOMB and she made me a latte that taste AMAZING. I love them, I will be back for more. :)

Came in on a whim with my brother on a Saturday morning. We had Cuban sandwiches, coffee, and some of the pound cake, caramelized in a pan with some cream. All was absolutely delicious, prices reasonable, and Nina and Mario were very kind and attentive. We followed their recommendations and weren't disappointed! The best tasting cake in Tampa. Nina Torres is a true artist, and I have never seen a poorly decorated cake. These cakes are worth every penny, and I drive almost 45 minutes each way for them. If you can't order two weeks in advance, call ahead and see if they have some in the cooler. You may not be able to pick your favorite colours on the pre made ones, but they are still beautiful and taste just as good.

Found this place by accident after we had a terrible experience next door at California Tacos. I did not realize they served food. Had the most awesome cuban sandwich and cupcake and their coffee (and coffee menu) is awesome. I am not a baker so i would never have normally gone in here but i will be back, the owner is a super sweet friendly lady who takes some time to chat with you. They don't have a huge food menu but it seems what they do they do good!

This is by far my favorite place to purchase cakes. I have been a loyal customer since 2000. My family knows to only by my favorite Puerto Rican poncake from Cake Plus! Wonderful cakes and people. I visited for the first time last month. My sister and I stopped in to check out the selection and tried the cannoli and pound cake, which were both heavenly. When I got home I realized I left my purse there. I was in a panic because I had over $500 cash, bank cards, IDs, etc... basically my whole life was in that purse. When I called to ask about it, they had turned it over to the police for me to keep it safe. I was able to get my purse back the same day with everything in it. It's not easy to find honest people these days. Thank you all at Cakes Plus for the delicious treats and for being honest and caring people.

I called every bakery in Tampa to find someone to make some Petit Fours for my wife’s birthday. She loves Petit Fours and the ones available at Publix are ok, but not authentic. Mario at Cakes Plus was the only cake maker who said “absolutely we can make them.” And he didn’t disappoint. They were phenomenal! Melt in your mouth fresh, and as good as any we have had in New York, San Fran and other big city bakeries. I highly recommend Mario for your cakes. Thank you Mario for making this birthday special!

I spent an unusual amount of time looking for a Snicker's flavored cake for my father's 60th birthday (on Sat. July 13th). Apparently, it was a lot harder to find than I originally expected and I was running out of time. I asked a close friend who works in hospitality if she could recommend anywhere new for me to call. I called Cakes Plus on Tues. July 9th. I realized I was asking for a lot -- to pick up a cake on Fri. July 12th. Granted, I didn't want a "fancy" cake with fondant or tiers or some crazy decorations, but not only did they meet my expectations, they exceeded my expectations. I picked up the cake at 10am on Friday and not only was it bigger than we discussed but it was, in fact, decorated beautifully with chocolate drips, frosting peaks and Snicker's pieces. Chef Mario was a dream to talk to on the phone. He let me explain my situation and didn't hesitate for a second or say something like, "It will be difficult, but..." He just did it. The cake was amazing, and the character of Chef Mario was even better. I am so pleased and so thankful. Thank you so much Cakes Plus.
