Passed by this place on a Saturday. There was a good queue of people outside waiting to place their orders. It took about 10 minutes or so to get the order in and about another 5 or so minutes to get the order. Looked like there was a good selection of items. Ordered a curry potato and cauliflower hand pie. It was very warm on the outside and a little cool on the inside. The dough was very flaky and a little oily. It was very filled which was nice. I wish I had a little bit of salt to bring out more of the curry flavor. Also ordered a couple of blondies. Liked it because it was a nice big cookie shaped like a brownie. Would be good with some vanilla sauce.

I had a walk-in visit one day and got a traditional croissant. In fact, I got two because they sell everything in boxes of two (which definitely pisses me off). The croissants look more American than French, you know, like an apple pie or a mushroom turnover, but they taste surprisingly not bad at all, and the cross section reveals some really crafty lamination.
Columbia City Bakery currently only opens two days a week from 10a to 3p, so it's not easy to get something casually from them. Maybe I'll come back when their operations come back to normal.
David Blaszka
This bakery is great, but ever since the pandemic they force you to buy two of the same pastries and have very limited hours. The forced buy is very unfriendly to those that are budget conscious. How yuppie is this neighborhood getting? Also, I'd really like to see some vegan pastry options. Seattle seems to be especially unfriendly to those trying to eat plant based, which is strange given the environmentally conscious pretense it gives off.
Victoria Martinez
Literally my favorite bakery of all time. I can't tell you how much I crave the ham and gruyere cheese croissant. They've got a wonderful selection of pastries and breads. They also sell their flours too. Be aware of their hours though. I believe they're only open 3 days a week right now.

Columbia City Bakery is by far the best bakery in the area. I ordered cinnamon twist, lemon bar, and lavender lemon cake. They all were phenomenal. The lemon wasn't too over powering. I can't wait to come here again. Must go if you haven't already. Columbia City Bakery has limiting seating but there is a park close by so you can head over there. Also they sell out pretty fast so get there early.

This bakery is unreal. Every pastry, bread, quiche, everything. So delicious, so well portioned. The coffee and espresso are very good but you should really try to get everything on their menu. You won't be sorry for waiting in the long line. Friendly, efficient service and great prices.

Would be able to spend a week here trying every drink, pastry, quiche, and sandwich and truly wish I could! Wonderful atmosphere and friendly baristas.

Wow!!! It was so good! I eat jam tomatoes sandwiches and soy latte...the stuff was welcoming and kind. Support our local bakery of Colombia city.

You are the best in this part of the globe. Balanced recipes perfectly baked and ability to keep the neighborhood feel with being so well known and busy always is an art of making happy customers.
Today I met one of the great people who work there. You are the ray of sunshine and happy energy. Thank you for being so kind ❤️

We live in Montana. Every time we visit Seattle - every time - we must stop at Columbia City Bakery for breakfast or road food. It's become a tradition for the last 6 years or so. Their pastures and bread are sooo good. Today we bought the chorizo hand pies. Yummm! Tender flaky crust and savory filling. And the chai is outstanding - a little extra cumin gives it a unique flavor.

Colombia City Bakery has Herkermer coffee!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰 I was here for the bread and left with a latte too! 🥖☕😍 it's the little things 🥰 (drove 2.5 miles for this lovely tasty baguette). Lines on the weekends as it is a popular spot for neighbors to grab a bite, that said the line moves quickly! I waited about 3 min on a busy Sat at 11:15 am).
Steve Won
The savory pastries are especially good, but the hours they open are so scarce that it seems to indicate they're not super interested in running a business. Find myself going to Olympic across the street for pastries most mornings instead.
Patricia Neighbor
One of Seattle's excellent American bakeries. Competes with Macrina for the best bread. My Americano was stellar, from the craft of the drink to the mug.
John Lee
Loved getting their cranberry bread a few weeks back! They also have some amazing danishes, cookies and great coffee. Really friendly staff and fast walk up window :)

I LOVE THE BAKERY! Been going here since I was a a baby and have grown up loving their treats. My favorites are the pretzels (preferably in knot form), the savory toccata (a recent find and SO GOOD), the croissants (crispy buttery perfection), and the cinnamon twists (basically the croissants but with cinnamon sugar, amazing). Really all their stuff is great, GO BUY STUFF FROM THEM! Please :)
Brian Klik
Tired of waking by this closed storefront. Neighborhood bakery open total 15 hrs a week? Come on.
Michael Meotti
Outstanding local bakery and sandwich shop. Their breads are excellent. We bought the seeded ficelle on this trip, tasty with a crunchy crust. Their breakfast pastries are super - try the pistachio snail for something a little different. Excellent scones too and the best pretzels I've had in a long time!
Luke
Quite literally the best cold brew I have had in my entire life. Drip is very good, but the cold brew is amazing.
Not a pastry person myself, but the baked goods always smell amazing.
Welcoming staff, and a generally pleasant and friendly environment.
chintan
If the smell of fresh baked goods is not enough to make you drool, the sight of those goodies surely will. Incredible delicious pastries and fresh baked breads. The breakfast menu too looked impressive though we already had breakfast by the time we landed there. Fresh squeezed orange juice and not the boxes kind earns them an extra star.
Andrew Lee
Columbia City Bakery is a nice place to visit and they have a good variety of baked goods available. The person working when I visited on a Friday afternoon was friendly. He was also happy to answer any questions about any of the pastries as well. The space lends itself nicely to relaxing and chatting with friends and family as well. It also seems like it could be a good place to get some studying in as well. When I visited I think there was some outdoor seating as well. I would definitely return to try more of their pastries.
Tina Vu Kelly
Very good baked goods and coffee. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
S. Soares
5 stars for yeast bread, 3 stars for pastries, and 0 stars for cookies.
Annoyed with the $13 pack of like 6 cookies -- they are 2 days old!! You are a bakery and you're selling old cookies... Expiration of everything should be TODAY.
Yeast bread is super yummy and fresh. Good crusty bread.
I wish the pastries were more plain. Everything is fancy pants and not very good.
Megan Demosthenes
One of the best bakeries in Seattle and surrounding area. A MUST for locals, travelers, and visitors! I have been a regular for about 11 years now. That won’t be changing anytime ever. 😉 …
Jonah
The tuna sandwiches here are AMAZING! Whenever I’m in the area I grab one. Such a good place to eat! Their bread is great too, and all their pastries.
Tammie Knight
This place is really good, really, really good! The baked goods and those hot pressed sandwiches are so very tasty. People are friendly there & there's free wifi.
Just a few issues: why do they stop serving sandwiches after 2:30pm?! Aren't people hungry for sandwiches after that time?! And their lattes are consistently not warm enough, even after asking for extra hot (& extra extra hot).
Definitely worth a stop for their delicious food & to takeaway some of the best bread in the city. Don't forget to get yourself a Columbia City cookie!

Cute little bakery in the heart of downtown Columbia City! So many options to choose from, and all of their items are fresh. I had the ham and cheese croissant and the chocolate croissant, I also got a blondie to go, and an iced chai. A bit busy and it’s small inside, but there was room for seating, and the line wasn’t too long of a wait. The croissants practically melted in my mouth, they were rich, buttery, and flaky as you would expect. I recommend this place, you could find something for everyone on their menu.
Justine Yahnke
Columbia City Bakery always makes my day a little better. They offer sweet and savory items and everything I've tried has been great! Plus the people working seem to be very welcoming. And sometimes there are samples!
Rajiv Bharadwaja
Visited this place after I had their *delicious* buttermilk cake from a birthday party. The carrot cake, raspberry pie, sesame cookies, croissants, and fruit scones were all *excellent*.
There didn't have too many options for cakes by the slice in their store (just the pistachio and carrot), but I'm not sure if that was the case because we visited half an hour from closing. Their pistachio cake was a tad dry. What wasn't too great was their staff ushering all the guests out exactly at closing time. In my experience, lingering for a few minutes has been fine.
Overall though, definitely one of the better bakeries around and I'll visit again.

We come here occasionally for special bakery items. They have good (and somewhat surprising) savory scones. Their cakes have never disappointed me. They have a small handful of gluten-free offerings.
They actually do not have that many choices of cake slices or whole cakes for walk-in customers, but their cake menu is online and you can order a cake ahead of time if you want to get one or a party or birthday or something.
I ordered my wedding cake here (hazelnut cake!) last year. The service is friendly and helpful, both on the phone and in the store.
Parking can be a bit hairy in the area, but not impossible. The area is nice enough that you can park a bit further and take a pleasant stroll to the bakery.
Mahsino Blamoh
FOOD: Relatively large portions for the price. I generally feel like I’m getting a good value. During an elimination diet, I was pleased they offer nut free, dairy free, gluten free options. great for quick breakfast/ coffee or birthday cakes.
SERVICE: it’s rare I’m served by the same person at the counter twice. While there are exceptions, I can’t say it’s a welcoming environment. I haven’t ever encountered anyone rude, I’m just generally prepared to be met with apathy.
ATMOSPHERE: stiflingly hot in the summer. I’ve tried to come in on a warm day but always immediately leave due to the oppressive heat.
Daniel Craig
Such a great bakery! Every time I come to Columbia City, this is a 100% stop. This place is incredible. The customer service is really next level and I really appreciate everything this bakery has to offer!
Derrick Pyle
One of the best places in the city to get baguettes if not the best. Get the seeded one for a real treat. Their savory baked goods are the best in the city and their sweet can be good though I personally don't love them for cake. Had a slice of coco ut cake last year that I found dry. All-in-all it rivals any other bakery in the city.
Highlights: pistachio snails, tortas, baguettes
Robert Murphy
Columbia City Bakery not only tantalizes the taste buds, but the visual stimulation of their bake goods puts me on cloud 9! I love getting the chai with oat milk, and this time I had a sweet raspberry cream cheese cupcake. This is always my go to for bake goods in this area.
BedRed BedRed
Awesome community bakery not just the variety of breads and pasteries that they offer but the employees too. My daughter wants to be a pastry chief and Ms. Marlena was gracious with her time happily answering all my daughter's questions. I am so grateful for Community businesses that want to encourage our children in the careers that they aspire to be in as adults.

Difficult to get to, but their german chocolate cakes are unique and memorable. Their turnaround time was really good -- better than the supermarkets could do for me. After getting the first one for a birthday, it started being requested by others, that's how special it is.
Yvonne Simpson
This bakery is a gem! Take the time to stop by when you are in the neighborhood. The baked goods are extremely well made. I also enjoyed the Alaska breakfast sandwich on a *sourdough* biscuit - I have never had one before!
Nathaniel Oxford
This place is as good as I heard. Very high quality baked products and reasonable prices. It may be the only place left in Seattle where you can get a espresso drink for under $3 -and GOOD coffee too. I love the atmosphere - again, not a lot of places that feel so authentic and neighborly.
Aleks Vollmann
Fantastic bakery and small coffee shop. Excellent Ciabattas, Sourdoughs and Croissants. Coffee was very good. The staff couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. Get there early, as some of the more popular items do run out.
Diane Lostrangio
Love, love, love this bakery. Phenomenal breads, sourdough wheat crackers and most recently a bread pudding with cheese, jalapeno and ham. Sooo good ! Happy its in my neighborhood.
Rachel Caesar
There were four in my party, so I tried a little of everything. The tiramisu was a little sweet but still delicious (and enormous). My profiterole had a delectable texture, but I wasn't a fan of pure whipped cream in the center (I prefer pastry cream). The lemon meringue tart was balanced. While yummy, I wouldn't say this was out-of-this-world delicious.
Shawn Dackonish
Very delightful baked treats.
Pros:
-Delicious baked goods
-Organized
Cons:
-Price
-Parking
The baked goods like brownies and especially breads are awesome but a bit pricey, great food commonly is.

the pain de campagne is excellent. so is their sourdough bagette. both have good crusts with soft, fluffy bread inside. their cold brew is flavorful and not overwhelmingly bitter. they use different single origin beans from time to time. croissants are light, flaky, and just the right amount of buttery. expensive, but imo worth the quality. service is inconsistent at times, but that's either due to the brunch rush or new staff.
Tom Ward
Amazing bakery and brunch spot. This has become our reward for every trip to SeaTac or South Seattle. The potato bread is a great addition to our homemade chowder or soups. Always something delicious and new to try!
Aizenmyo Black
Delicious morning cafe with great bakery items and a few breakfast dishes. It's very popular and can be busy so be prepared to wait for a seat to eat. Full espresso options also.
Ryan Aldrich
I love this bakery! Service can be a little slow if all you're after is a coffee on the way to work, but otherwise this is one of my happy places. I'm particularly in love with the chocolate whiskey tea cake.
Missy Newman
Best Seattle area bakery I've experienced so far. Excellent selection of exquisitely executed baked goods and a laid back, comfortable atmosphere. Tried the fig and walnut bread, strawberry Danish, ginger cookies, and olive oil orange poundcake. All homeruns.
Colleen
Great little store with novel offerings, including a rotating stock of various tasty sweet & savory pastries. So far my favorite is the Bostock, which tastes like a french toast with almonds on it.
Tiff Napolitano
Please open up. Miss you all and my morning coffee and pastry experience. 😘 …
Michael Natkin
Great local bakery. Long lines on the weekends. Everything is good. The baguettes, pretzels, pastries, stratas, cookies, panforte. You really can't go wrong other than you might stuff yourself silly.
Ashley Smith
The spinach artichoke sandwich on their delicious sourdough is my favorite!
Matt Craft
I visit this place every time I visit my hometown. Fantastic American staples and knock out french baked goods. Best pistachio "escargot" outside of Paris. If this bakery had been around when I was growing up, I might never have left.
Arielle Collins
I love this bakery.
I have a weakness on croissants.
In the past, I've looked around town which bakery that has the best croissants. Well, i've found a bakery. Their croissants are freshly baked- soft, buttery, and slight crunchy.
Bonus- I don't live too far from it. 😀
Miranda Scott
I miss them being open every day, but its still nice to see the smiling employees and incredible, fresh selection twice a week. A Columbia City Staple that people line up around the block for!
Brandon Moak
Stop by here for AMAZING breads- especially the seeded baguette and rustic sourdough. I also love their fruit Danishes, but as a general rule their pastries and deserts don't measure up to bakery nouveau.
Dave Lunn
I'm currently eating the best fkn peanut butter cookie I've ever eaten. Everything I tried here was outstanding. The coffee is good and the staff is super friendly. These folks should be proud of what they're doing.
Paul E Nelson
Excellent baked goods! A little expensive but the fruit danishes are world class. Sometimes you get a little attitude from the counter people and often there is an entitled Yuppie/Hipster/Arrogant F#$k who will act accordingly but if that happens, get the danish to go.
Azizah Mathly
Great savory breakfast items (try the veggie torta - delish). Line was long but it went fast. Cookies are really good. Only thing that keeps it from being a 5-star would be the price...kind of expensive.
Jimmy Longshore
One of my favorite bakeries in the area. They have a pretty good selection with reasonable prices. And the staff really nice here too.
Vicky Pillard
The Savory Hand Pie has the most delish flakey crust. Great coffee as well. I’m from out of town, if not I would return again and again!
toozinger
Wonderful artisan bakery. Great for a snack, a lunch, or a date. Many options for freshly made pastries, and small foods. Great options for fair trade and/or organic food.
David Ackerman
Amazing bakery with sweet and savory options and fantastic bread. If you go in the morning try their torta. It's bomb. Can't really go wrong, though.
Will Cheung
One of the best bakeries in all of Seattle! Great selection of sweet or savory pastries along with wonderful coffee makes this place a busy neighborhood favorite.
Bud Cashatt
Great neighborhood bakery. We come her often to grab treats for the kids and hang out on weekend mornings. Get here early though to beat the crowds!
Collyn DeWitt
Very good, I would recommend the pistachio snail and a drip coffee. A comfortable place to grab a quick bite to eat, the seating area was clean and warm inside. I will be returning.
Andrew Jorgensen (Ridiculous Robots)
I get something different every time and EVERY TIME it's amazing. If you haven't tried the meat or veggie Tortas, you're missing out. It's crowded, but it's easy to see why.
Lucas Duffey
Pretty good pastries (morning bun) and bread. Wouldn't get the bland Hudson breakfast sandwich again. Spinach artichoke was a good sandwich though.
Andrew Gerry Santillan
Best bread around. As well they seem very nice and quick with service. Baked goods look good, but I have not indulged.
Jennifer Kwok
Open for pickup at the window during pandemic. Super efficient service, super clear displays in the window, super delicious focaccia!
Matt Morrow
So much good stuff here. Much of the pastries are European and many seem to be eastern European. All are made with care and quality ingredients. The coffee is really good too.
Betty Renee
My granddaughter and I go here about once a month. We really enjoy it. The Drinks are yummy and the treats are delicious.
Liam Blunt
Really great atmosphere and interior design. I tried the croissant and the pretzal and enjoyed both. Fits right in on that strip of businesses.
Cory Schulz
Amazing bread, coffee, and sandwiches. The pastries look amazing. One of my favorite spots to eat when I'm in the area.
Perla Castaneda
Gets very busy in the morning and since it's a tiny place, often no room to sit. But great for to-go. Our go to breakfast are the tortes. They are to die for.
Marcus Fan
