Guava cake on the Mainland! I was so excited to find this place while in town and made the extra drive for a piece of my favorite Hawaiian cake. My mom was very jealous. The nicest people own and run this family bakery, and I'll make a stop here every time I'm in town.

A friend had the guava cake for her birthday and it was amazing! I’m not even really a sweets person but I’m pretty sure I could’ve eaten the whole cake myself so I’m happy I live on the east side so I won’t be as tempted to do just that. 10/10 So good.

Very delicious cakes, you can easily notice the great flavor and quality of the preparation and delivery. It's definitely one of the bakeries in the area. I totally recommend it, especially the chocolate cake and the cookies.

This is hands-down the best bakery I've ever visited! I never tried Hawaiian-style pastries or cakes before, but we came here once for my husband's dad's birthday, and they made the most delicious guava cake for him. So when it came time for our wedding, we reached out and had a lovely 2-tier cake made, with both guava and mango layers. The flavors they offer are so unique, and the guests loved it. I kid you not, the leftovers didn't even last 24 hours past the wedding, and we ordered so much extra. They use a whipped frosting that's super light, so it's not too overwhelming, despite the richness of some tropical fruits. The cake is the perfect texture and the flavor is so delightful. Literally, my mouth is watering thinking back on it... might need to order a cake for no reason lol. Anyway, can't say enough good things about this place! Support a lovely family and local small business--this is a really unique place and deserves all the attention it can get!

Rainbow and chantilly cakes are the best combination ever. We had two tier (6 and 9 inches) rainbow & chantilly cakes and 6 dozens of mini-cupcakes (2 dozen each of chantilly, guava, and pineapple) for our intimate wedding. They were perfect! They accomodated changes to our menu due to postponement of our wedding d/t COVID. Highly recommended!!

Wonderful bakery. I hadn't been back for a few years and they had done a great job remodeling and opening up the space. The birthday cake I got from them was amazing. The tropical flavors were great and I appreciated the cream that wasn't too sweet like other Asian cakes. The penmanship on the cake was also great. I also got some cream puffs, liliko'i bars, and malasadas. Everything was delicious and I hope to return and get others desserts!

Every time I’m in the area I stop for a piece of the guava cake. It’s truly revelatory. My mom is from Hawaii and she also loves this cake. I took a whole one to a work function and everyone thought the balance between light and dense, sweet and savory, and the colors were fantastic. I’ve honestly never tried anything else.

I love the fact you can order ahead of time online and pick up a custom cake on your scheduled date and time, get greeted warmly when you arrive and the cake looks even better in person. A hidden gem selling exotic Hawaiian cakes. I bought a Rainbow cake for a work event and they descended on the cake like wolves (and we usually have supermarket cake left over) They use relatively exotic fruit juice and the flavors come through - coconut, guava, pineapple, strawberry, lime and passion fruit. Sunshine in every mouthful. If you want a well baked cake with a tropical twist give these folks a try.

I ordered the Rainbow cake for my graduation party and it was so tasty! It was light but flavorful and all of the flavors complimented eachother and did not overpower eachother. Everyone thought it was beautiful and wanted to try it, even the ones who don't usually eat cake. Everyone who tried it could not stop raving about how delicious it was. Just like home...if home is Hawaii. I usually grab a slice when I stop by a Hawaiian eatery b/c my toddler loves their cakes. For her birthday, I made the haul down from Lynnwood and picked up 2 cakes...b/c not everyone loves Chocolate (that would be me). Since my daughter's 3rd birthday was dinosaur themed, I ordered the Dobash which is perfect b/c it already comes with "dirt" topping. Just added some cake decorations and chocolate rocks and voila...ready to go. Dobash for people who don't know if like a light chiffon style chocolate with a more pudding like frosting vs. traditional heavy frosting. They have a bunch of other flavors and breads at the bakery. Guava, Lilikoi, Coconut and even Malasadas! Tack on that Kauai Family Restaurant is next door and voila...here comes my food coma! Nom Nom!!

I bought my Mom a 9" round guava cake for her birthday recently. My order was ready to go when I requested it to be picked up and they did an amazing job going above and beyond making sure the cake looked as amazing as it tasted! My Mom was completely blown away by the cake and even more so about how great it tasted. I couldn't be happier with the end result and I will for sure be ordering from them again in the future. They also sell individual slices too. 10/10 would recommend.

This was the first time I had tried Cakes of Paradise, my boyfriend loves their Chantilly cake. And I can now see why. I ran over there before they closed, which was a little hard since I got off work down south and had to speed up north to get there in time. I made it and got his cakes for his birthday and boy they did not disappoint!! These cakes are so deliciously moist and just amazing. I cannot even say it enough, they are just so good!

The confections are out of this world tasty! I love, love, love the chantilly cake in any of the forms! It comes in whole cake, by the slice and mini cupcakes (by the dozen). If you have never had Chantilly cake, I highly recommended you promptly make a trip to Cakes of Paradise!

This is my go to for your not-so-usual cakes. While all of their cakes are OUTSTANDING the guava cake definitely takes the too prise. Moist, flavourful, can't stop eating goodness. My daughter's go to is the rainbow cake. Fun, multi-colored bursting with tropical flavors. Can't go wrong here!

Heard about this place alot on Seattle Foodies facebook group and knew I had to go here.. looked up on their website and seems like they were sold out for the weekend so we chose to brighten up on weekday by stopping by here hopping to get some cake.. Due to covid they have only a small window open to take ur orders and deliver your cakes.. the lady at the window was very polite friendly and highlighted their best sellers since we were first timers here.. ofcourse looking at the menu, we just could not decide on one or two so ordered 4 cake slices - Chantilly (chocolate), Guava, Mango and their Rainbow cake.. their pineapple cake is also supposed to be awesome but we chose to keep it for our next visit here.. we simply loved each cake and their unique flavors.. its tough to decide which one we loved the most since they are so light, fluffy, flavorful and perfectly sweet for a person like me who does not have a sweet tooth to love these cakes should say alot! The cake slices are priced reasonably and their freshness is amazing.. each slice is well packed and comes with a best before date.. we ate our cake the next day and 2 days after as well (just to see how well they store considering they are sold out often) and I was surprised they were fresh as Day 1.. You can also find their cakes in Uwajimaya stores or place an order online or just walk in on a non weekend. Their website is updated with the latest happenings so you can find it all there.. Highly recommend trying these folks out..

My favorite cake, hands down. The frosting is light and not too sweet. The cake is perfectly moist. I've ordered two cakes for two separate occasions and I've been happy each time. The custard pies are so creamy. It's nice to have a taste of treats that I enjoyed as a kid in Hawaii and California. It's pricey, but worth it for special occasions.

The office was having a little get together for my coworker we ordered the Chantilly cake.....It was delicious. So my daughter's birthday was coming up,I ordered the same cake and it was delicious very moist.They spelled her name right.It tasted exactly like the 1st one I tasted @ work.We decided to try every cake they have.Once a month we order one for no reason,simply to taste them all....They are all a slice of heaven.I'll never bake a cake again.Very pleased. Super busy everytime I go here. The cakes here are AMAZING, our favorites are the Rainbow or Guava Cakes. We live about 40mins to an hour away but it's totally worth the trip to take home one of these cakes! Also the mini cupcakes are just as good as the cakes themselves! A little pricey, there are 12 "mini" cupcakes for a little under $20. And when I say mini I mean like 1 bite mini. But you get what you pay for, I would still buy them for a small get together where there are only going to be like 2-3 guest.

Almost perfect - but all the cakes are basically the same, a exactly same base, same amount of filling and frosting - and they are tasty, light, fluffy and not too sweet - really good, but I'd expect more differences when I buy chocolate vs coconut vs another one - it's the same texture and consistency, just different flavor which is a bit boring. Try Paradise Puffs - they are delicious and filling is amazing - for that alone I could give 5 stars, but cakes are 'only' 4+ - I didn't try pies so I'll have to come back. Definitely worth visiting!

I ordered Chocolate Chantilly Cake for mydaughters sweet 16. It was the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten and my guests complimented on how moist and not so overly sweet. In our case, the Macadamia nuts was blended and sandwiched between the 2 layers of chocolate cake with pink whipped topping over the cake.

I am definitely coming back! I ordered the Chantilly cake for an event here, and it was a major hit! No one piece was left, and lots of people came to ask where the cake was from at the end of the event! The cake was nice and moist, and, more important, not too sweet - even the frosting. Attendant was also friendly, and it was easy to park right in front of the store for easy pick up. Will definitely start ordering my cakes from here from now on!

Hands down best place for cake. This is no place to get a "traditional" chocolate or vanilla cake this is where you feel the Aloha. Every one I have tried is more amazing than the next. Frosting isn't gritty, cake isn't heavy... It's a light and fluffy with flavors that are to die for. Step out of the Mainland Norm... Support local and have something delicious.

If you love desserts that remind you of Hawaii, this us the place to come! Their Guava cake is amazing as well as the Passion Fruit. The cake is super soft and light, the cream light (between the two layers-think whipping cream) and the flavored frosting is like a thickened jello. Cake comes in large square slices at about $4.50 a piece or whole cakes can be purchased. Special orders can also be taken.

I came to them with the hope that I might be able to get any cake they might have on hand for a commitment I made to supply the cake for a birthday celebration. Instead they made me a rainbow cake despite being very busy. The cake was a HUGE hit at the party, very light and amazing flavors. I will absolutely be back for more!

I thought I would try something different for my birthday last Saturday July 18, 2020. Cakes of Paradise had a couple ready so I chose a Chantilly cake. In about two minutes they had written Happy Birthday on it and it was in a cute box ready to go. I had never heard of this cake,so I was excited. After eating our delicious Hawaiian lunch from Kauai Hawaiian Restaurant next door which was amazing! my Mom brought out the cake. O......M......G! You’ve got to be kidding me!!! That cake should be illegal! I consider myself a cake connoisseur but this cake? C’mon! This was by far the BEST cake I have EVER had!!!! It wasn’t overly sweet, the chocolate cake was light and moist and the frosting was so light and full of flavor! I will never buy a grocery store cake ever again. For all my upcoming occassions, it will my new go-to cake! I didn’t know such glorious flavors exsisted ! I ordered my cake online through an easy process. I got a confirmation email the next day. My cake was ready on time, and was amazing! I ordered a half sheet of pineapple coconut and everyone loved it - the cake was dense enough to serve plenty of people, and the chunks of pineapple and coconut made it so tasty.

Usually satisfied with their service and product, and with the ongoing pandemic I’m more understanding about wait times, low product availability and such. But I’m really sad that they haven’t gotten back to me on whether or not my order is confirmed or not. I even called and left a message, but no one has responded back. All I needed to know was whether I was able to have a cake ordered. If not, that’s fine but NO ONE has communicated with me whatsoever. I put my order in advanced before they had cut it off and I didn’t receive an email or anything, so I don’t know if it’s even confirmed. I completely understand that they’re short staffed at the moment, but it’s just disappointing to not know what’s going on with your own order. Otherwise, this place is usually good and the desserts are amazing. EDIT AUG. 7th, 2020: Thank you for replying! We actually for some reason did not receive a spam mail. We checked both the normal inbox and spam inbox constantly the past several days, and your emails usually go to the normal inbox when we order from your business. I know what you’re saying isn’t excuses and like I said, I completely understand the long wait times or if the cake wasn’t going to be made, but because the order was supposed to be for today and I didn’t know anything, I was just sad that from my perspective I didn’t get any word for you folks. This review was from the night before the pickup date and I didn’t know if I needed to have to pickup a last minute cake from somewhere else or if we were to do that, we wasted your ingredients for not picking up the order. It was a limbo and I just didn’t want you to lose profit if the order was confirmed (which now I know it is). You guys are amazing for all the delicious desserts you push through into making even during this pandemic. Get more rest, be safe, and I’m sorry about this mixup!!

Hidden Jem. They offer a variety of cakes that are of Hawaiian origin and family recipes. They are not like a grocery store cake. I think they are probably known for their Rainbow Cake. It is SO good. If you are looking for a treat you can get pieces by the slice. If you are looking for a whole cake I would suggest that you order it online. They do have cakes everyday for sale without pre order but they sell out fast. Support local business owners.

Amazing cakes whether you are familiar with these Hawaiian treats or not. Classic cookies, indulgent cakes and slices are available too. They even have local treats like Li Hing Mui covered seeds! Everyone is sweet and a pleasure to work with. Beautifully crafted and very easy to place an order in advance. Wish they were closer to North Seattle - we need it!
