Great sandwiches and bread! The pecan and lemon bars are delightful. A very local feel inside. All this being said, I have a few qualms: They never answer their phones!!! Can't find a menu anywhere other than in store. (I will help you all out and post a photo of it here.) Customer services is okay. No online presence. Don't get the cookies.

YES this place knows how to do pastries. Their pain au chocolat and savory croissants are flakey buttery crafted with care. Their croissants are similarly amazing. Got their ham egg and cheese, i was a bit disappointed the eggs weren't seasoned and the cheese was American. But hey for $4 it's a huge sandwich, definitely fills you up. Thankful to find a place with a savory pastry even just the one! Would absolutely come back here. So rare to find a place like this. Also they are super affordable.

Really the best croissant I've had. Tried ham and cheese and raspberry with cream cheese. The raspberry was just off the charts. Delicate pastry, baked to perfection and filling was both generous and delicious. They certainly don't hold back- everything is oversized here! The cream puff was filled with real cream and true custard- best I've had in an age. Cream horns are what took me there, and they are enormous and lived up to the word on the street! If I had any negative, it would be just not so friendly or helpful staff- I still gave 5 stars as it was packed and very busy on a Saturday . (This is taken using a white DINNER plate, just to show size!!)

Nostalgic bakery you dreamt of as a kid. Cases full of chocolate brownies, cream puffs and delicious sweet treats. The bread is delicious - prairie is my favorite. Always worth a stop for breakfast sandwich on bread or croissant or for lunch. Westbrook club anyone? Roast turkey for the win!

They're nice, fast, reasonably priced and delicious! Baked stuff and sandwiches are all fire, you can't go wrong. I've been frequenting this place for a few years now and I don't think I've every been disappointed except when they are out of something. I guess I'm not a huge fan of the plastic containers they use either. Check out this gem!

Wonderful local place for some really excellent selections. The lobster tail rivals those found at some famous places in in Boston in Little Italy! Danish and croissants are prepared perfectly and are delicious. Even offer some great selections for sandwiches. Hard working owner and very pleasant staff. Highly recommend

We love this bakery! We adore the tasty croissants, danishes, and other baked goodies. But our hearts were stolen by the chicken pot pies. Baker’s Bench chicken pot pies are preternaturally consistent in the deliciousness of their flaky crust and flavorful filling. Often in today’s challenging world, when one requires the simple support of reliable comfort food, the “chicken pot pie” hawked by lesser talented establishments will seduce would-be customers with the illusion of a full pie, but like a disingenuous grifter, include a mere thin crust as only a top (the facade of a pie) with thin gravy and an “Oliver Twist workhouse meager portion” of chicken. Thankfully, our world includes the virtuous people at Baker’s Bench. They understand the need for the full pie experience (bespoke, handmade, delicious crust on the top, bottom and sides), paired with reassuringly, reliably satisfying filling. I’m happy to state publicly that my life, and the morale of our household, are immeasurably more satisfying thanks to the master craftspeople at Westbrook’s Baker’s Bench and the weekly Wednesday pie offering. We will return repeatedly.

They make the most amazing Thanksgiving sandwich! Cream horns are my fav, but everything they make is delish!! I have recommended them to everyone I know and have not heard a bad thing yet. Also, have brought assorted pastries to multiple gatherings over the years with rave reviews each time!

We love the sandwiches and baked goods. The club sandwich is one of our favorites. I do wish they had a menu of the different bakery items available with pricing and more of an online presence. There is only a couple parking spots in front, we usually park on a side road.

I am so thankful a bakery like this still exist. They have one of the best cinnamon rolls I've had in a long time. I crave them on the regular now. Visually tantalizing and scrumptious cupcakes-Boston cream cupcakes! Sandwiches made to order on their thick sliced homemade bread. So good! Do wish parking was better... But they are so worth it!

Wonderful little bakery with fresh, delicious sandwiches, pastries, and more. Seasonally, they have chicken pot pies that are incredible! The cream horns are definitely my favorite, but I haven't tried anything here I didn't love. :)

Best cinnamon rolls this side of Fiddle Camp in August. But they are available most days but often sell out. Other great treats too! Breakfast and Deli sandwiches are made to order and great as well.

I've been driving down from Brunswick for many years. Trust me: the real cream, butter and other quality ingredients make it worth the trip. The prices are very reasonable. I can't say enough about Diane and her professional staff.

We were a little late for lunch, around 1PM. They were out of all but the wheat bread and Prarie bread. Also out of Roast Beef and the Thanksgiving sandwich. That aside, the Pastrami on wheat with Swiss was very good. Very lean, nice salami. The pastries are amazing. Service was very friendly and helpful.

Walked in and immediately was hit by the smell of deliciousness. The cinnamon buns are huge and I am soooo glad because they are like nothing I've ever tasted before. The croissants, are AMAZING! This is the best kept secret in town. Other than parking, I encourage you to find something wrong with this place. Delicious, monstrous baked goods on the cheap! Cream horns will sell out, so get there early! A wide array of flavors and types... it will be hard to make a decision. Grab a sandwich if your looking for lunch. You will not be disappointed. Fresh ingredients from top to bottom. Make this a regular stop for your daily commute.

I always stop in when I am south. Coffee rolls sell out by 9am and are to die for. Creme horns maintain crispness so long it suggests a pact with the devil. Excellent grab and go lunch croissants. Lovely owners. Down with Panera. Support Baker's Bench.

I really enjoyed my roast beef sandwich on marble rye. The meat seemed fresh and full and full of flavor, while the bread was soft and light. They also have some deserts like cakes and stuff. Great little shop

Stopped for lunch and enjoyed a terrific turkey club on their home made bread. Actual roasted turkey breast, thick sliced, crisp vegetables and even tomato with decent flavor in the middle of winter in Maine. We usually stop for their baked goods/desserts, but don't overlook them for lunch too.

The food quality is excellent. There's usually a line and they keep it moving. The staff is very nice and accommodating. They have savory sandwiches on fresh baked bread. I enjoy that it is kneaded and baked right behind the counter.

The cream puffs are so good they remind of my early years when I was considered a 'cream puff'. Their turnovers are the real deal but I try my best to resist because I've 'turned-over' a new leaf by paring down my pastry addiction.

If you want the best creme horn or whoopie pie this is where you want to be. I have tried many other yummy sweets and never been disappointed. My only disappointment is that they are so good the often run out of whoopie pies and creme horns lol. ❤

Food is decent, when they have everything in stock. Desserts are quality too. Parking is a nightmare. Avoid rush hour times like the plague, if you get lucky enough to find a spot to park, someone will park behind you and block you in.

Amazing creme horns, cinnamon buns as big as your head, delicious pies and bread and sandwiches. The Westbrook Club is my favorite. Any sandwich with turkey is not deli turkey slices, it is carved chunks of turkey breast. The less-than-perfect score is because, on a couple of occasions, they've gotten my bread wrong when we've called in a large order. I usually forgive them because all of their breads are so delicious, anyway.

Holy turkey! The turkey is so fresh, tasty, and down right amazing. Felt like my mom just made a fresh whole turkey and then made me a homemade sandwich. The best turkey sandwich I've had. The oat bread was sooo fresh and delicious. The tomatoes had lots of flavor and tasted like they were picked fresh for my sandwich. I'm an out of towner and I'd consider relocating to Maine from Chicago just for this sandwich. Highly recommend. Also, the cinn.bon was just as tasty!
