Reviews of Katie Made Bakery

I got the Chocolate Mousse cake for my 19th birthday and it was IMMACULATE! The cake was super moist, rich, and flavorful. The cake gave me 5 star ritzy restaurant vibes coupled with a comfortable and homey family owned ambiance. Katie, the owner, was also super kind and sweet! Overall, Katie Made Bakery served an artistically elegant and delectable scratch made cake! Would highly recommend for any occasion.

My partner and I made a quick stop at this bakery during our morning walk. Our sandwiches and coffee were good. Indoor seating is limited though.

I was working across the street today and decided to try Katie made bakery for lunch. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with avocado bacon and ham on an English muffin. It took a little time to make but boy was it worth it! This was honestly the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had in my life and I have been in the restaurant business for 20 years. I didn't get a coffee card as I was an offered one but I'll definitely get one on my next visit as I will definitely be back! Thank you all so much for the wonderful lunch!

Wonderful bakery and everything is delicious . The best scones filled with wonderful fruit . My son declares them the best he’s ever tried . It’s a hard decision between blueberry or cranberry nut so I usually need one of each ! Great decorated sugar cookies beautiful and delicious we had a wonderful cake with berries. The egg sandwiches are delicious and so many great fillings and choices . Katie Made Bakery is filled with love kindness and deliciousness ! Thank you my family’s favorite Portland bakery .

Amazing breakfast sandwiches and great coffee. The outdoor seating area was perfect for a Portland summer morning. Cost wise its is great all around. All sandwiches are under $6 and the drink prices were very good. Service was quick and there were a multitude of baked goods we didn’t get to try but looked delicious.

Great for an easy breakfast; sandwiches are tasty and filling with the fluffiest eggs and wonderful fresh ingredients on the softest English muffin. The iced coffee had ice cubes made from coffee, which was a nice thoughtful touch. They are biodegradable friendly, and such nice people. Really enjoyed our time here.

Mixed berry muffin was chock full of berries, from top, through the middle, down to the bottom. My spinach, roasted pepper, goat cheese, egg and avocado sandwich was fresh and delicious; the eggs were light and fluffy. Sandwiches, baked goods, CBD coffee, teas, something for everyone. Friendly staff, too!

Incredibly welcoming staff and delicious breakfast sandwiches. Was a bit busy when we got there so the wait was around 20 minutes, so we took a walk around the block before heading back. The raspberry and blueberry muffins were great, as are their blueberry packed coffee cake. Breakfast sandwiches had fluffy eggs and crispy bacon.

Some of the best pastries, pies and breakfast sandwiches in Portland. The individuals who work here are some of the most kind and gracious people I have met since moving to Portland!

A great place for breakfast or lunch (or brunch).
Katie Made Bakery sits on the East End , right on Munjoy Hill.
Katie Made is one of my favorite places in Portland to eat. The pastries are delectable (you seriously need to try one of their cheese and strawberry danishes - I get one every time I go), and the breakfast and lunch options are to die for (for lunch, I often get the Cuban sandwich, which has real slow-cooked meats). The owners are the ones cooking and preparing the food, and are the nicest people.
There isn't a lot of seating, so at times it can be a grab-n-go place but in the summer they have tables outside. Parking is only on-street.
Overall, due to the prices and great food quality - I would highly recommend this place.

Awesome scone and sandwiches! I had a lobster special that was delicious. However, the lack of restroom was problematic. It's more suitable for take out than sit down.

Another great place in Portland for breakfast, coffee and baked goods. It is much quieter and less hectic than in the downtown recently with all the construction. It's also quite close to the eastern prom! Great food and outside seating!
Charlie Daniel
Delicious breakfast sandwiches featuring yummy fluffy English muffin & perfectly creamy egg. Skip the free “continental” breakfast at your hotel & enjoy a local treat here at Katie Made!

Everything I have had from this bakery is delicious. Great coffee, great breakfast sandwiches with fresh local eggs. Great muffins packed with the freshest berries. Female owned and environmentally/socially conscious business......Definitely a 5 star business. Check it out if you're in the area.

This place is amazing.
The food is incredible, and I've never had a breakfast sandwich like the ones they make here. Fluffy eggs, piled so thick, with excellent toppings. I have no idea how it's even profitable for them to sell their sandwiches with everything they stuff into them. Delicious delicious food.
That's not even to mention their amazing baked goods. My wife loves all their cakes, pastries, and other delights. They made our wedding cake, and it was perfect and beautiful.
I also love their coffee. This place is one of Portland's secret treasures.

Stopped by for the first time last Sunday (Mother’s Day) We didn’t know that sandwiches weren’t available on the weekend but they still made us 2 Cubans. Delicious and super nice people
too! Highly recommend

Stumbled upon this great breakfast and bakery when walking to another farther one - so glad! Very cute and homey atmosphere, amazing food and at a great price! Super friendly people! I'm sad it didn't come up under "breakfast" on a Google search because their sandwiches are fantastic! Hope you get to stop by. We're heading back for round 2 now!

No lines when everywhere else was packed. Great breakfast sandwiches and fresh juice. Nice little spot to relax and eat some delicious food.

PB chocolate chunk cookies are a 10/10. Key lime pie 10/10. The key lime was perfectly tart and the graham cracker crust was beautiful. Katie Made made it super easy to preorder for Thanksgiving. I'm incredibly full and satisfied.
Tara Tai
Solid baked goods, excellent fully loaded breakfast sandwich with unbelievably fluffy egg and tasty sausage (although I wished for more onions/mushrooms given it was supposed to be fully loaded!). Sammies will run you around $5-6 depending on what you get. Also got the Maine blueberry bread which was okay...a little underbaked perhaps but still tasty and totally LOADED with fruit.
Zachary Diaks
Staff is super sweet and the food/coffee is outstanding! Highly recommend as a breakfast spot. Personal fav is the blueberry scone
Edward Sihler
Great food. The eggs in the breakfast sandwiches are wonderful. The lunch is just the right size and hanging out with a cup of coffee and the coffee cake is great. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, including with a few hours notice turning out 25 breakfast sandwiches. Wish I lived closer so this could be my morning coffee spot.

Absolutely one of my favorite local bakery in Portland. Everything that they use is fresh farm & organic. Prices are affordable and taste of their breakfast sandwiches is quite delicious. Good for either quick bite or dine in. Staff are very kind and helpful.

Stopped in once on vacation. The simple breakfast sandwich was the best I’ve ever had. If cooking eggs can be a super power, someone there has it. The house coffee is good and the staff is friendly.

After a really nice guided tour of the Portland Observatory (last existing observation tower // $10 for adults) we found our way to Katie's while waiting for the bus.
The staff was great, the sandwiches superb, and the locally-made chai iced tea was refreshing and delicious. My wife and I would recommend this spot to anyone!
Definitely a nice find on a hot day in Portland!

The BEST strawberry cheese Danish! Omg so so so yummy!

Such a sweet spot. I got a made to order breakfast sandwich and the best scone I’ve ever had (I’m a connoisseur of scones!). The service was efficient friendly, the food was fresh and delicious, the price was a bargain. Not to be missed!

Came to Maine for my anniversary. Stumbled across this bakery from our Airbnb. I don't know how, I don't know why, but their breakfast sandwiches were the best I have ever had. We had it twice in the weekend we stayed up there. Can't wait to come back!
Chris Soule
Amazing neighborhood bakery! Great coffee and delicious breakfast sandwiches! They also have all the bakery staples which you need to try. Some indoor seating and seasonal outside

I've only tried Katie Made bakery once. Here is my good experience!
My s/o and I came into the restaurant and were greeted right away. In the same breath, we were asked what we were going to order. (Being our first time, we wanted to check out the menu before ordering.)I let her know that we would probably be getting a sandwhich. She told me that they had both breakfast and lunch sandwiches available. I thanked her. While glancing at the menu another associate asked what we were going to order. We'd only been looking at the menu for 30 seconds or so, and hadn't decided. At that point, we just hurried and ordered.
The fully loaded breakfast sandwhich with sausage AND bacon, eggs, mushroom, onions and provolone was the clear choice. It only comes with one meat, but having both sounded delicious. We also asked what bakery good was the favorite. The cashier named a few favorites and the clear winner for me sounded like the strawberry & cheese danish. Yumm!
A gentlemen came in after us and clearly had a large order that he pre arranged. Before starting my sandwhich, the ladies behind the counter took care of collecting the last few items of his order first. We weren't in a hurry, so this wasn't that big of a deal.
Neither the breakfast sandwhich, nor the Danish had an ounce of disappointment. They both had rich flavor. I would order both of them again. They also carry CBD (coffee by design) coffee which is one of my favorites in Portland. We didn't want to order a coffee, so we didn't get any on this day.
I'd like to try their cakes, tortes and pies one day!
LiLi Marie
Amazingly delicious pastries and baked goods! Loved the blueberry coffee cake, scones, and pumpkin pie! Pumpkin cheesecake was also to die for! Everyone was super nice and generous to us as we were visiting from NJ for our anniversary. Definitely coming back!

Katie Made makes the best breakfast sandwiches in the world. After 14 years in NYC and Brooklyn, I know this much is true. The granola, cakes, and cookies are also off the hook. My only request is for an espresso machine but, in the meantime, I enjoy the tea. :)
Peter Eglinton
Yummy berry pie for last-minute Pi Day celebration. I was tempted by all the other baked goods -- but those will have to wait until next time. See you soon!
Robert Mireles
They had the best peanut butter cookies I had in a long time. I had to take extra on my trip back home. The homemade strawberry shortcake was awesome as well.
Joe Rogers
Berry Muffin was so delicious! I'm quite sure how they get the muffin to stay together with all the berries in the batter.
Kevin Clark
the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I cannot fathom how they get their eggs so fluffy
Sandra Foster
Great place to have a delicious breakfast or lunch...surroundings inside are very tranquil and warm. My favorites are the farm fresh eggs, home made cornbeef hash and delicious pies especially the strawberry rhubarb!

Absolutely bliss -- homemade and delicious food at a reasonable price. Wish there was more room to sit, but not much to complain about. Friendly staff. Just excellent -- one of the reasons Munjoy Hill is the place to be!
