The vanilla-vanilla poundcake and apple-raspberry filled donuts were absolutely delicious! The staff was a joy to interact with as well. Take note, the bakery is cash only - but they can direct you to an ATM across the street if needed. I would love to come back and try more things here, and highly recommend to anyone in the area as well!

If you’re craving a sweet or cake this is the place to go. Stocks Bakery makes the best pound cake in Philadelphia. It is delicious. The have many other bakery related items that are also tasty. The staff is helpful and they work fast to get your order filled. You will never be disappointed. The bakery is clean and smells fantastic. They take orders or you can just walk in. Parking on Lehigh Avenue can be difficult at times.

The best pound cake around! Every year I purchase at least 25 pound cakes (marble with vanilla frosting) to give as gifts during the holiday. This is a cash only business. The Stock's team is efficient and helpful! Love visiting the bakery!

This is absolutely the best bakery! I have been a customer for years, had many celebrations with their cakes, including our wedding! Moved to suburbs, but still try to get here 1 or 2x a year. They have specialty pound cakes, I like the vanilla w vanilla icing. Holidays, be sure to get the Easter egg shape. Also have great pies and butter cake is a must! Bring cash as they don't take credit cards!

Stocks is by far the best bakery I’ve ever ordered from. My sisters and I grew up on the chocolate chip cookies, every birthday cake was ordered from here, and last year for my wedding they produced the most beautiful and delicious cake I’ve ever seen. We enjoyed a chocolate icing vanilla pound cake today. Wanted one without icing but choices today were only with icing either vanilla or chocolate icing. The chocolate icing was fluffy and delicious. Not too sweet or sugary. It reminded me of the icing on Tastycake chocolate iced cupcakes. The pound cake was moist and delicious. The flavor was very nice. Now we understand why their pound cakes are so highly loved.

Loved the pound cake as many people did from all over. No problems on flavor or taste. The help is very friendly but direct in getting you in and out. I find the icing a basic sweet sugar taste on the loaf cakes ... birthday cakes should be Butter cream . This would do better for their birthday cakes and cup cakes for sure. Everything else is pleasing to the pallet. 5 stars when icing improves

Still the best pound cake around and we have tried many places closer to home. The good thing is they are in a lot of local stores and delis now so I don't have to drive 2 hours round-trip anymore to pick them up. Its the same as always. I got the yellow pound bar, with white icing. Plus a pumpkin pie. And, some butter cookies too. The staff was very busy yet helpful as always. The pie was very good, it had real pumpkin in it, you could tell. The cookies were also good, and the grands all loved them. Good buttery taste. The pound cake was great, as it always was. It lasts for awhile in your fridge. I'll go back again to get Thanksgiving treats in a few weeks..🦃🦃

~I just moved in on the same block, & noticed the hordes of people lining up on Friday/Saturday before Easter. I had to see what Stocks Bakery was all about.. First impressions: Upon entrance it was like walking into my grandmamas kitchen as a child for desert time at a big family party. Mesmerized by the assortments of pastries & cakes on display, all the while drooling from my mouth, & the aroma teasing my sense of smell. I decided to go with the traditional white icing pound cake(pictured)...im not lying when I say a slice of this pound cake was so devilishly delectable, I had a 2nd slice & went to Heaven. I am looking forward to going back to try a new treat, after I have a chance to work off those previous slices of pound cake. Recommendations: Stocks Bakery is fairly easy to walk by with a small decal & window, inside décor is a bit dated, but I guess it adds to the 5 generation family owned business nostalgia. I would personally add a POS system to increase sales & customer base, but then again I can understand the "old world" way of doing all cash business. The Don approves of this establishment & will be back~

Stocks has been my family's go to for cakes for decades! If our cakes weren't homemade, they came from Stocks. They offer old school simple yet deliciously rich lightly frosted pound cake that is super affordable. They are cash only, so stop off at the Wawa on Aramingo before visiting. If you're looking for elaborate gram worthy cakes, this is not the place for you & that's okay.

Really good pound cake, one of the best around. CASH ONLY Street parking is not fun, sometimes you need to go around the block a few times. Best plexiglass protection I have seen. Counter to ceiling with a slot to give or receive cash. Limited store access to 3 customers at a time. Employee at the door to make sure access is limite.

A staple here in Philly, if your in the market or mood for baked goods. I typically get similar things: butter cake, donuts, pound cake and occasionally birthday cake. Often times, in my experience, once establishments create positive or really good feedback n opinions from their customer's, things tend to change over time. The problem with change is when it's not positive or even a good thing. Not the case with this bakery, although it gets very busy at times they never disappoint!

Stock's Bakery is a little bakery in Port Richmond, there buttercake is so good, if you don't get there early, or order it and pick it up later, you're out of luck. But that's not all, the pound cake is one of the best around. They have cookies, donuts, rolls, pies and beautiful cakes. Wander in early on a Saturday morning and it is buzzing, I guarantee you'll find something else you want to try besides what you went in there to buy in the first place. The staff is always professional and very friendly and they have great hours, especially since it's a real bakery. It's a true neighborhood treasure.

Dang good small business! Products are just as tasty as they look. I deeply appreciate that they have a staff member assigned to open the door and keep customers coming in & out organized (ugh, COVID). Inside they have plexiglass separators, signage for placing orders and pickup, etc. They’re in a tiny space (it’s galley kitchen style) but they have it set up well for the current conditions. Prices are pretty good. I got two danishes and one of their signature pound cakes and it was under $15 i think. Couple of cons: they are cash only, which i hate bcuz I don’t want to exchange money during the pandemic. They can’t hear you very well (depending on what’s running it gets a lil loud) so getting your order placed can be a bit of an aggravation. Still, a nice little bakery if you are in the area.

When I was a kid, my parents always bought Stock's cakes for our Birthdays, Communion, etc. I drove from Northeast Philly to get pound cake for my office Holiday breakfast. I didn't know they were cash only. So had to leave with no pound cake. I wish they would at least accept debit cards.

A small plain looking local bakery that has been around for decades. They specialize in a legendary pound cake. Locals have grown up eating this cake on holidays, weddings and if your lucky enough to live nearby any time they feel like it. Decorations and alterations are sparse but the quality of both the product and the people who work there is why this bakery is so loved in the area. The cake is firm, solid and heavy. It is to be eaten with milk and savored. It may be frozen for future use. Thawed out, it keeps its flavor and quality. Try it.

Really good cakes, though slightly less good than before. More sweet, a little less moist but good nevertheless. I appreciate their products but they lack in taking care of customers in certain respects. They STILL don't take credit/debit cards. Today some lady paying for her order whipped out a giant wad of cash to pay for her large order. Also, this year, they're closing June 30th - Aug 3rd for the summer. That might be helpful to the owner but customers are shafted. These may work for the bakery but it doesn't work for customers, esp if you're from out of town. The owner(s) may be taking some liberties they earned but customers get the short end of the stick. I'm questioning whether to remain loyal to a business that's not exactly loyal to me.

Its good cake but BAD service! I called to add a name to a cake that had NOT been finished and they said they could not add a name to the cake. Also, they said they make the cakes 36 hours before you pick up the order. That makes me feel great! Freshness is always better. So I'll be taking my business somewhere else.

When we were kids, my Dad worked at the Jack Frost Sugar Refinery (Now the Sugarhouse Casino) and would stop at least once a week at Stock's after finishing third shift. We bought all our birthday cakes and special occasion cakes from them. This place is awesome. It's the best pound cake I've ever had. When I get down to the area I pick up a few to give one to my Mom and freeze. If you ever get a "under par" cake they'll replace it. Their donuts are to die for, too.
