Reviews of Windowsill Pies
Saleh Babazadeh
I wish we had more time to try more. We had cherry pie and a vegetarian savory pie. Both were great. The prices are reasonable. The place was clean and service was great. I also had a latte that was not the best, but acceptable. The most important factor for me was the environment. Everything was so calm and cozy. I enjoyed my visit definitely.

My husband and I both prefer pie to cake, so we went on the hunt for a shop that could help us with a non-traditional dessert for our wedding. Windowsill not only baked the most delicious pies for us, but they are also the sweetest gals you’ll ever meet. They helped us pick a spread of 4 seasonal pies in both full-size and mini versions, offered rental of their display stands, and set up everything at the reception. Start to finish, they are so lovely to work with, and you won’t find better pie anywhere. We’re now regulars in the shop and won’t let a holiday or special occasion pass without grabbing something delicious. The best!

Small and cute. Got a iced coffee that was creamy and had hints of chocolate. Strawberry Creme pie and a Chocolate hand pie.
Elizabeth Cole
Chicken pot pie, strawberry creme pie flaky crust both so flavorful. The best strawberry tarts

Heard about this place from some friends who absolutely love their food. Stopped in for a coffee and to jot down some notes after a meeting. Cold brew was excellent, staff was very nice and attentive, solid little spot to hang out for a moment. I also enjoy trying to support independent small businesses, so this checked off everything I look for.

This is an adorable pie shop! My wife and I tried two hand pies. One Croque Madam and another Strawberry Basalmic. Both had perfectly flakey crust and tasted great! Hands down, the best item we tried was the Vanilla Bourbon Pecan pie....ohhhh my goodness!!!! It's a don't miss item.

I've had my eye on visiting this cozy pie shop since their Dark Chocolate and Earl Grey Caramel Tart caught my eye a month or so ago, and I can't be more impressed! Every layer of that tart is perfect and decadent: The caramel is ooey gooey and the taste of Earl Grey tea sharp and present. The chocolate almost-cookie crust was crunchy, a nice texture departure from the smoother elements. All in all one of the best desserts I've had in ages!
While I stopped by the shop, I also couldn't help trying out two of their hand pies (Croque Madame and Crawfish Boil) and the vanilla bean latte. While the crawfish boil was an excellent teaser for our incoming crawfish season, I loved the Croque Madame! A perfect on-the-go breakfast treat! The ham, egg, and buttery, flaky crusts just scrumptious. I can't praise the pastry crust enough! And the vanilla bean latte went excellently with both.
All in all, I can't wait to try more pies as my first foray was such a splendid pleasure.

Not only are their pies and quiches delicious, but their staff is so kind and helpful too. They even have mimosas, wine, and beer. Everything you could want in a pie shop in New Orleans.

Last year for Thanksgiving I ordered the amaretto pear and dried cherry pie from Windowsill and it was easily one of the best pies I have ever eaten in my entire life. I CAN NOT wait till they open their first brick & mortar. I will be there with bells on!

Best👏🏽pies👏🏽 ever👏🏽
Windowsill pies catered our wedding before they even had a storefront. We went today, 5 1/2 years after our wedding and the pies were just as good as we remember. I had a spring veggie hand pie, my husband had a coconut cream and my 5 year old had a strawberry frangipane tart. Each one was utterly delightful. Anyone who balks at the price *clearly* doesn’t understand what high quality ingredients and expertise are worth. The crusts are delicate and flavorful, the fillings are rich and balanced. Literally the best pies I’ve ever had. The end.

An absolutely delightful experience. The pies are perfection, the ambiance is lovely, and the staff are delightful. Very high quality. Extremely talented and knowledgeable. This is our go-to bakery for all holidays. My family looks forward to these pies every year. Also a marvelous choice for a dine-in experience. Delicious coffee, wonderful aromas You will not regret!

Quite literally the BEST PIES I've ever eaten. We tried the brandied cherry, pecan, lemon meringue, and the strawberry frangipane. My goodness.
We stumbled upon this place strolling down Freret after picking up comics at Midcity (RIP freret location) and on our way to Mojo to grab a coffee. We stopped in and were greeted by an incredibly friendly and helpful employee (I think owner). She gave me really great descriptions of the pies as well as recommendations.
I ended up basically ordering a flight of pies. They're quite pricy. I think around 7 bucks a slice. Were they worth it? Oh yes. Very worth it.
The brandied cherries and pecan pies really stood out to me. The pecan pie has a nice whisky-ish nuance too it. It's complex with a deep caramelized sugar note. Delicious.
I'll be back.

After reading the reviews, we had to try several things on the menu - and they didn't disappoint! The pecan pie is phenomenal. It's salty and sweet with a hint of bourbon on a delicate and flaky crust. My favorite, though, is the dark chocolate tart with earl grey caramel. It had just the right amount of sweetness for those that don't like the sugary punch of the pecan pie. When coming through New Orleans again, we'll be sure to stop by!

The walk up, storefront, inside setup were all so becoming. The staff was courteous and educational on the products for sale. I personally consider myself a pecan pie connoisseur. I have ventured into the land of pecan pies and this bourbon laced pie can be added to my list of alleyway pies I can depend on. If ever in need of a last minute gift idea or table deco for the home spread this pie has passed the test.
We also chomped down on the earl grey lavender chocolate tart. The first bite was of soft chocolate followed by a runny sauce and ended with a crunchy base. This tart reminded me of my grandmother's favorite chocolate cordials. That's a plus plus for me any day whenever food connects with a great memory.
If ever in the neighborhood or you can manage to swing around the way checkout Windowsill Pies, they won't be a disrespectful to your tongues color pallet.

Fresh and delicious pies and handpies. Definitely a great place to grab a savory or sweet slice.

The hand pies have the best crust I’ve ever tasted. Different take on pecan pie, with the bourbon in it, but omg still so good! I wish they shipped, because I’d totally order from CO. I will be going here on every return visit to NOLA.

Nice, cute atmosphere, but I probably won't come here again. The taste of the pies we got were good, but not worth the price we paid. I couldn't taste the cheddar in the apple cheddar hand pie, and only saw a tiny speck of yellow cheese as I ate it. The seafood boil hand pie wasn't very flavorful either, and they both needed more filling (the crust was very tasty.) The vanilla bourbon pecan pie was good for the first two bites, but the sweet, wet bourbon flavor got kind of overwhelming. No one really enjoyed the lattes we got. Overall, I wish there had been a couple more pie and hand pie flavors to choose from, and that the hand pies had more flavor and filling.

What a great selection of pies! I was visiting for the weekend so I splurged on the strawberry chocolate hand pie (YUM!), the dark chocolate tart with earl grey caramel (another YUM!), and the blueberry lavender honey pie, which I haven't tried yet but I have high hopes for! Prices were reasonably. The three items came to $16. Considering how much I've paid for slices of cake back in Tampa that weren't anywhere near as good as these items, the price was well worth it. I wish I lived closer!

Possibly the best pies ever.

Wow. Came by on a Sunday morning. Great choice! I had the southwest scramble hand pie. It was awesome. full pies and slices were flying out the door. And they had just started taking orders for Thanksgiving. Great place for sweet and savory pies. Can't wait to return.

When I think of the most beautiful and delicious pies, I only think of Windowsill Pies. the amount of love and care that goes into their product can be felt and tasted in every bite. From the hand pies, to the savory ones, the sweet fruit pies - you're not going to regret stepping foot in this shop. It's also owned by some of the kindest people you will ever meet.

You’ve got to check this place out! I got the gumbo hand pie and it was to die for. The flavors were perfect and the buttery crust with flakes of salt was *chefs kiss*. Beautiful pies with unique flavors and designs. The decor and color palette are so lovely, just loved their design. The two ladies that own it are fabulous! Incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Will be going back!

My roommate and I stopped in after getting a couple bagels next store. We had heard good things, but the $38 a pie / $7 a slice price made us hesitate.
“How can a slice of pecan pie be worth $7?" we asked ourselves. Well, now we know why.
These pies are delicious, created right there in the window of the store, and are quite aesthetically pleasing. For all of those budget conscious people with a sweet tooth out there, the quality and taste are well worth the splurge. In the words of Donna Meagle: “treat yo’ self!”

Look to Windowsill Pies for the most delectable, scrumptious pies around. The pies are not only perfectly delicious but also beautifully made. As I’ve personally experienced several times, a Windowsill Pie is a splendid addition to a holiday table. The Bananas Foster pie is especially wonderful! Customer service is excellent.

Hands down best pie I've ever had. I have literally described the Amaretto Pear & Dried Cherry Pie as "art" to multiple people. The Vanilla Bean Bourbon Pecan Pie is equally as phenomenal. Worth every penny!!

Today was my first time, much anticipated visit to this cafe. We were both extremely pleased with the manner in which we were greeted and treated. That on top of the delicious food took our visit to Feret Street over the top. The luxuriously rich quiche, light, readily yielding custard boasting clear flavours, encased in a crisp, all-butter pastry was the best I’ve ever had. The Croque Madame, Quintessentially French, this sandwich was the perfect way to start the day. This was my first time visiting but it definitely will not be the last.

I love pie. I live for pie. I could not be more excited about Windowsill Pies opening their brick and mortar on Freret Street! All of the pies I have sampled in the past were amazing, but I think my favorite was a pear, amaretto, mascarpone pie (I might not have all the ingredients quite right, but it was absolutely fantastic). Can't wait until opening day!

I always bring a Windowsill pie to family events, but now that those are off for the foreseeable future I'll just have to get the beautiful small 6-inch pies to eat by myself! Best pecan and pumpkin pies ever but my favorites are the passion fruit tart in summer and chocolate earl grey in winter.
Bonal Pavel
I consider myself very lucky to have an opportunity to try ALL of the flavors when they delivered a variety of mini pies for a private party last year! All of them are outstanding and I fell in love with the passionfruit, can not wait to order the full pie size, again! Phenomenal.

I found Windowsill after searching for a cherry pie for my mom’s Mother’s Day gift. Her review: “The best cherry pie I’ve ever had in my LIFE!” I’ve been back twice and am slowly trying everything on the menu. From the coffee to the passion fruit tart to the herb chicken pot pie, everything is DE—LISH!
Paige Galloway
I wish I was eloquent enough to describe how fantastic these pies are. What I can say is that, never fail, the past 4 Thanksgivings, someone ends up with the pie pan and a fork, just going at it. Most times, someone’s name is me. From the Blueberry Lavender to the Passionfruit, to the award winning Bourbon Pecan, these pies are delicious. I am so excited for the storefront to open so I can taste the daily goodies, and not just rely on my holiday treats!
Jason LaHatte
The key lime pie itself was fine, but I would not say was worth $40 for a whole one. The one advantage they have is that they are the only pie shop in the area. If you don't mind the prices, it is good.

This space is so clean and so cute. The people are friendly and the pies are to live for. I had the pecan bourbon pies came in a package of three for 6 dollars. Very delicious place to go for a sweet tooth.

Best pie I have had in my life. The crust is to die for. The inside of the pie was so yummy. I was in heaven.
Gillian Chan-Sam
The slice of pie was ok. Definitely not worth the astronomical price we paid. $7 per slice?! Too pricey for simple pie. Not going back, that's for sure. The service was good. But that was it.
Daneeta Loretta Jackson
Love this place! Love the pies and cool cards. Nicole and Kelsey are awesome examples of NOLA Renaissance entrepreneurs.
Bryan McCormick
Genuinely excited for future seasonal flavors. Helps make the year hang with anticipation. Same can be said for the pies themselves. Each forkful delivers so much.
Kimberlee
Love the bourbon vanilla pecan pie and Earl Gray chocolate tarts!
Monica Taylor
No more grocery store pies for me! Whether you get a pot pie for a meal or a slice of pie for dessert, you will get something delicious.

The herbed-chicken chicken pot pie is literally perfect. The crust is flaky and buttery. The cream is rich without being cloying. Mushrooms! Peas! The almond apple pie slice was delicious (according to my Dad.) That bananas foster banana tart was light, fresh, and creamy. The strawberry pie is literally everything. The Quiche Sardou had delicious (sauteed?) onions in an almost souffle-textured bake. THE bourbon PUH-CAWN TARTS are LIFE-AFFIRMING. I want to order a dozen and freeze to eat -as-needed but I don't trust myself.
Do yourself a favor and order.
I wonder if they ship. I want to send a couple of pies to my Aunt and Uncle in Cali.
