Reviews of Gracious Bakery
DrB DIY
We popped in last week for a quick breakfast. I had a chocolate raspberry no flower muffin. It was dense and decadent. Someone had to eat it, so I did. I enjoyed it. The son had a cinnamon roll and liked it. The lady had an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich. It was yummy too. Nice place.
Jaelene Cumba
Tried their baked goods during one of the parade days that they stayed open past 6pm and wasn't impressed as they were too hard or not sweet enough for my taste. They did serve coffee, chocolate, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, which was convenient. The staff was great, efficient, and smiling.

While visiting NOLA, I dropped by Gracious for breakfast and I had a delicious croissant with switch sausage and garlic aïoli. What deliciousness. Great place and smelled like heaven.

This cafe is located in a quite street in Garden District. It is surrounded by beautiful mansions and homes of the area. A convenient location to fuel up before or after your walking tour for this neighborhood. The pastries are quite fresh and tasteful. They do have some unusual croissant flavors such as feta and spinach, caramel sea salt. Feta and spinach reminds one the Mediterranean boreks. They are flaky and savory very good combination. We will stop by again when visiting this part of the town

If ever they take the ginger molasses cookies off the menu… Great breads, especially croissants and cruffins. Chocolate chip cookie to die for. Friendly people. A gem for locals.
Jessica Frederic
They have King Cake! I got the chocolate per their recommendation and couldn’t have been happier. It was tasty!!
John Taylor
Was on vacation with the family and needed a place to get off our feet as we were walking around looking at the homes in in the garden district. Just happened on this little place. We got some cookies and other treats and they were really good. Place was clean and the staff was friendly. Recommend stopping in if you are touring the area.
Matthew Pike
Nice quiet spot to stop by, the coffee and tea was tasty as well as the food. I had the breakfast sandwich and was happy we went here as opposed to the Wendy’s down the street.
Dawn Howerton
The lemon currant scone and salted caramel croissant were the best I've ever eaten in all my travels!! Cannot wait to test the rest!! Great customer service!!
Paige Totaro
Beautiful pastries and breads, great dark coffee, super-accommodating staff. We came in for breakfast and had the creamiest eggs I've ever tasted. Tiny pecan and chocolate tarts just begged to jump in my mouth.
E SW
I got the prosciutto mozzarella toast and it was hugely delicious. Fresh ingredients. Great tasting bread. Could be cut into smaller pieces maybe. Menu item said a Pear Gruyere soup was the soup of the day but it was not made or started when I ordered. I also got a latte and it was delicious. I think the decor could be improved upon just a bit. All the food looked tasty and delicious.
Mark Jimenez
Walked in to a pleasant greeting from the staff. The menu is very easy to read and has a wide selection of drinks and sandwiches and pastries. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and smoked turkey sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious with the bread being the the highlight of the sandwiches. Baked fresh with a slight crunch on the exterior but soft and full of flavor inside of the buns. I would come here again whenever I have a chance.
E. Reis Phillips
Got a delicious Candied Pecan Kouign Amann and Iced Vanilla Oat Milk Latte. A great way to start the day!
Melissa A
Food good. They misplaced our order, but did react swiftly when they realized the error. And they comped us a delicious chocolate croissant. I would return.
JeAnne Swinley
This review is solely for their chocolate king cake. Decadent and a nice change from icing and large food colored sugar chunks.
Christine Jones
Tasty selection of pastries and sandwiches. The iced hibiscus tea was excellent. Friendly service, indoor/outdoor seating. Convenient location on St Charles Ave.
Drew Masterson
We were very pleased with our experience at Gracious Bakery! The Chocolate Croissant with Dulce de Leche is an all-time pastry in my opinion.
William Hunt (Ryan)
Pretty good coffee shop with limited selections.
Teresa Dickmann
Great food - Friendly & Fun
Mac Ram
Nice coffee place... best in Garden district.. I totally loved it and recommend it... lot of parking spots
Stacey Dressler
Delish. Must stop when touring the green district
Gio Garcia
Not "life-changing" as suggested, but is a really good place to get pastries when around the area for sure!
Wick P (Wick)
Very nice. Quick service and delicious foods and good coffee.
Leslie Molson
This location is inferior to the original on Jeff Davis Pkwy. They have instant "vending" machines for the espresso drinks, and there are a lot of tourists always, so be prepared to wait.
Also there is never anywhere to park. A good option for those on foot, especially since it's on St Charles Ave. They seem to have cut back on staff, too.
William Powers
Very nice shop in the Garden District. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will go back next time in New Orleans.
Brenda Jacoby Chaves
Amazing bread!!! I’m sure that I will buy the bread again!
Now about the almond croissant, a constructive criticism:
It need to be moister. It’s too dry, really dry. Fixing this you should be good. But in second place there is the sloppy decoration, that could be better. I’m saying this cause really felt like a waste of money. And I hope you understand!
Patrick Armstrong
I'm so glad they have multiple locations. It really takes a lot of my willpower not to order stacks of their delightful pastries first thing in the morning.
Kimberly Scutchfield
Delicious! The staff was pleasant and quick. The iced latte with simple syrup and breakfast sandwich on a croissant hit the spot before a busy day of touring the city. We're actually planning to return tomorrow morning again 😄 …
Jose Campos
Amazing place and Capuchino ❤️
Mary Acampora
This is a busy little neighborhood stop. I had an egg and sausage on a cheese biscut. For a fimilar sounding order, nothing was average. I enjoyed the small variations they made in the same ol same ol. Cheese biscut was unique and the eggs were light and fluffy, almost a souffle texture. Mmm
Saoirse Sheridan
Best cappuccino in New Orleans - for me anyway and I'm from Europe 😊 lovely to sit outside in the shade of the trees and watch the old world trams go by, cakes look too notch too 👍👍 …
Johanna Clerveaux_Salom
Boys inhaled the chocolate croissants reminiscent of those beloved Parisienne café treats 😋 Love the savory Danish/ Crosti goodies! …
Tator Tot
This place is amazing and you can tell they put a lot of effort in the food. A little pricy but definitely worth the cost. If you are in New Orleans, give this place a try.
Rudy Sanchez
Great little bakery with an awesome staff if I was a local this would be coffee shop
Nicholas Lauricella
I did a walking tour and we met here to start it off. I grabbed a cinnamon roll and it was the best cinnamon roll of my entire life. Everywhere you go have these things and I've eaten tons of them but this was my favorite.
Triskell Young
Great pastries, always, and a very good avocado toast.
Michelle Mitton
St. Charles street is a beautiful place and the pastries aren't bad. The staff was quick, but not super friendly like you usually get in the south. The pastries were slightly stale, if they'd warmed them up it would have helped. Tried the almond croissant, cinnamon roll, banana bread, and chocolate croissant and the cinnamon roll was quite tasty.
Rolf Linder
A simple yet wonderful neighborhood spot, perfect for a.good cup of coffee, a baked treat, or a light lunch. Very warm and accommodating staff.
Bil Ingraham
Wonderful egg sandwiches and delicious baked goods of all kinds. Oh. And coffee. Friendly staff. Socially distanced setting. I had an egg, cheddar, pesto, sausage bagel Sammie and it rocked my world. Next time I would ask them to toast the bagel though. Still delish.
Bart Majcher
It’s a mighty good bakery. Some of the nicest patisserie I’ve had in NOLA. Also, great spot to watch the parades
John C
First morning in New Orleans and we found this awesome breakfast place. Blueberry muffins, sandwich croissants (made with soufflé eggs), lattes are all excellent and the OJ is fresh squeezed. Can't wait for tomorrow's breakfast.
Mr Alligator
Excellent bakery and cafe. I would highly recommend it if you want to be peace, quiet and avoiding crowded spaces.
Lauren K
Gracious is the best. The elderberry iced tea is delicious and I've never ordered anything there I didn't like. The bouchon bites are especially great, awesome for a dessert tray or just getting a little chocolate fix without overdoing it. The staff are always really nice, too! I haven't ordered beer or wine there yet but the selection seems pretty decent.
Crissy Bushman
Great small bakery. Had to keep changing my order because they were out of most of their sandwich breads and some cheeses. My sandwich, Turkey and pesto, was amazing on green onion focaccia! Service was good, but I felt sorry them having to tell the customers what they were out of. They need to step up the baking!
Joni Stockdale
You have not had good coffee until you’ve been here.
Take it from a coffee addict/ex barista with 5+ years of NON- Starbucks experience.
I have NEVER tasted better.
And, to top it off, their pastries are delectable. They are exactly the taste in your mouth that you crave when you think of the ideal pastry. The exact texture, and scent of heaven. Whatever you’re doing, drop it and come snag you a slice or cup of liquid sunshine.
Also the staff is sweet and patient.
Go.
Calypsowomayn T.
Delicious, plan on taking home a box of these pastries.
num1lsufan
Gracious Bakery and Cafe is a nice place on St. Charles Avenue. The servers are very friendly and I was impressed with their soup of the day. The sandwiches look hefty and amazing, especially the caprese. They have wonderful choices of cream cheese: salmon, roasted veggie or lemon caper. The prices are kind of high.
Sherri Wolfe
Had the avocado last, it was amazing. Nice change from having an egg on it. Fresh and light. Staff was great, laughing and smiling.
Andrew Dodenhoff
First time in this shop. They had a quite an array of beautiful looking pastries. I had an almond croissant. It was flaky, buttery and generous amount of almond filling. I have had plain and Pain au chocolate at other Gracious. Their croissant are by far the best in NOLA.
James Kel Kinnick-Bitar
Delicious, delicious, delicious!! Stumbled across this little gem while walking around the Garden District. It's sort-of a mashup of bakery-coffee shop-bodega, as you can pick up a pastry, cake, espresso, or even a beer. Everything we ordered was absolutely perfect and yummy. We will definitely stop in to indulge our sweet dreams next time we visit New Orleans.
Emily Shamburger
Tasty pastries (I had a chocolate and almond croissant--why has no one else ever put these flavors together? DELISH!) and good coffee. Service was quick and friendly. In a great little residential area of St. Charles and near Lafayette cemetery. Also had their challah buns at Avenue Pub and they were great!
Molly Hill
Delicious muffalettas! They’re more like pastries or open-faced sandwiches than the traditional dish, but I greatly preferred these
Holly Bolinger
The seasonal pumpkin croissant and unicorn cookie were super yummy! The strawberry donut was also fresh and good. The cruffin was a little dry. Only 4 stars because a bit on the pricey side, but what do you expect near Garden District in NOLA.
Dennis Patrick
Great upper Garden District Coffee House right on St. Charles Ave.
Coffee is fresh. Food/pastries are awesome.
Kristin Battenfield
My husband went to new Orleans for our honeymoon and we just so happen to see this place on the trolley and decided to get off, and it was by far the best decision we made for our entire honeymoon. It's been a few years since our honeymoon, and we still talk about this place and the dish that we had. This is an absolutely legendary bakery and I recommend absolutely everyone that is going to new Orleans and gonna be on the trolley to at least stop by and get a croissant if you're not gonna get anything else.
Georgene Conner
Many tempting desserts. Had ham & cheese croissant. Friendly staff. Lots of tempting goodies with chocolate ingredients to take home.
Philippe Monomro
Had a salmon bagel, it was hard to cut or chew, couldn't finish it. Nola dark roast coffee and a chocolate & cherry pastry were good. Overall I expected the place to be more... gracious.
Jessica Kwolek
Hidden gem! The coffee here was phenomenal, the pastries were on point and their build an egg sandwich tastes exactly like your grandma must have made it for you, with extra love. SO GOOD!
G W
Kind of a limited selection of sandwiches, but what they serve is very good. Super friendly staff too. Worth stopping if you're in the neighborhood.
Frank Harbin
So glad we found this tasty breakfast. Great coffee. Warmed up bagel sandwich and delicious pastries.
Dog friendly outside table seating also.
Jessica Lynn Barber
Fresh and delish. Amazing lemon curd croissant 💞 …
Tod B
A great bakery. Good looking / tasting pastries. Great coffee. I had the house cured salmon breakfast bagel. Really delicious. Nice people working the counter.
Damien C
I love their brownies.
The caffee is really good.
Looks like they serve (only?) home made bakeries. That's awesome.
And service is always good.
Celeste E
Great place! I was able to get in right before she closed.
Aaron Gemalsky
Great little cafe that wasn't over crowded. Coffee was great, their drink prices weren't bad. The food was good, but priced a little high. Overall a great place to start your morning!
Meher Swathi
I like their coffee! We ordered veggie sandwich and trout sandwich, I feel the bread wasn’t fresh baked. It wasn’t great as I had expected from a bakery!
Stephanie Junot
Love this place! I only ordered an iced latte, but the pastries looked both fresh and amazing!
jay hog
Always good caffeine! Iced. Hot. Can't go wrong. Wait staff is awesome too. One of my favs uptown.
Steve Banks
During Mardi Gras - this has been our "GO TO" spot. It is all freshly made and how they handle each customer with such smiling faces and gracious attitude (maybe why the name is Gracious Bakery). The walk back to our spot is always fun "Where did you get that!" - Gracious Bakery
Matt Jones
First refill of a large ice tea is free! Can’t beat that. Tried their chocolate chili bread and the rustic tart and both are amazing.
Angela Delpino
The baked goods are wonderful! I haven't tried the sandwiches yet but they look delicious.
Iain Fraser
Great spot for a light lunch and the best coffee in New Orleans. Menu is varied and caters for vegetation tastes. Take a St Charles Ave street car for a nice ride to lunch.
Morgan Troost
Great pasteries and fresh baked bread in a quiet unpretentious space. The also have good coffee and adult beverages available. Worth checking out for sure.
Brian w
One of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had. Also the roasted tomato, corn and Herb goat cheese tart is amazing
Jean Prieur
Ham and provolone in a croissant! Also, my favorite is the ham and artichoke with provolone cheese on special hand made bread around it. Both Heated.
Jordan Boulton
It's a cute cafe in the garden district! It's a great place to stop and get water bottle and a bite to eat! I didn't eat anything there but I bought water and the staff was super kind!

Had the caramelized onion and Gruyere brioche which was delicious but I’m sad I couldn’t try all the other things. Super nice staff as well.
raymond glaser
It's a cute place. But the food is soso. The bake goods they offer change. Sometimes it is good but you can spend a lot of money and get nothing good in return.
