Best dessert I’ve had in a really long time. No questions asked. I have dietary restrictions and this was amazing for me. My husband doesn’t, he loves ice cream, and was really impressed at how much better his banana split was than any other he’s ever had. My pictures do not do the ice cream justice. This specialty dessert shop offers a large selection of gelato including hazelnut chocolate with orange zest which I highly recommend. They also offer small batch chocolate bars, cakes, pies, and chocolate drinks. Very friendly staff. Seating is limited inside but there is some sidewalk seating which makes for excellent neighborhood people watching.

In town with daughter and wanted to find vegan desserts after dinner. This place fit the bill and exceeded our expectations. We tried both the peanut butter & chocolate slice and the triple chocolate slices. Both were delicious! My daughter was so excited to find a place with diary free and soy free desserts. The service was good and we loved the way the shop set up a sanitizer station outside of the shop with sanitizer and masks for the customers. We will definitely come back when we are in town.

Adorable, quaint little store with delicious and beautifully crafted desserts. They have truffles, chocolate covered bananas, mini cakes, cheesecakes, coffee drinks, chocolates, and are coming out with gelato. The owner is so sweet and passionate about her mission to provide vegan, raw, organic, and delicious desserts. Everything she uses, from the utensils to her ingredients, are all ethically sourced and clean. This is a wonderful new spot that I highly recommended!

In extraordinary times, there are some who do it right and make us proud to be going through difficult time with them and Rawnaissance Desserts is doing everything right. They are following the guidelines to protect themselves and others, serving as an example for others to follow. And their desserts are wonderful - tonight it was the key lime pie. They don't disappoint! Thank you for being there and doing what you do so well! Parking is easy. Service is fast, friendly, and appropriate given the times and conditions of these extraordinary times. Great food, great ingredients, and great people. I am not a vegan or a vegetarian. I eat what I like or with a purpose (e.g., lose weight). I’m on a Keto diet (for my wife), but I like sweets so - Rawnaissance! This place should be every healthy eater’s go-to desert place. There are a ton of great choices and though the taste and texture is a little different, sweets are sweet and this stuff is good. I’ve tried the Keto cheesecakes- raspberry lemon and the vanilla - and Keto gelato - dreamsicle and the vanilla chocolate and macadamia nut. This is truly guilt-free dessert, good for you, good for the environment, good to eat and great to look at. Easily the best (healthiest) dessert I think I’ve ever had, and the vanilla chocolate and macadamia nut gelato took care of my chocolate craving and was filling. The store itself is very well set up, very colorful and groovy. There are tables inside and out. It’s right on Bardstown Road next to a fitness place. You can work out and then eat right while watching weird happen all around you. It’s a fun place to eat. Service was great. It is definitely a neighborhood store with genuine knowledgeable people doing a good job carving out their niche. Parking is available on the street, there’s a small lot next door, and large lot just down the street at a church. Would I go here for dessert if I wasn’t on a diet? I wouldn’t have before, but I will now. I like trying new stuff and there is a lot here to try. It’s also very good!

My mother is lactose intolerant, so eating desserts at restaurants is risky business at best. We decided to try Rawnaissance, and werwe so happy we did! Everything was delicious! And it was awesome to see my mom's delight; she's never been able to safely order anything she wanted off a dessert menu before. So if there's anyone in your life with gluten, lactose or egg sensitivities, you have to bring them here! You can get large slices of cake or pie or smaller versions of the same desserts at the counter. We opted for 4 little samplers: triple chocolate, peanut butter chocolate, red velvet and vanilla chocolate swirl. All of them had the flavors you would expect (in a very good way), except the red velvet, which was more creamy with a hint of coconut than red velvet-y. That was fine by us, however. It was quite tasty

What a lovely place! This hidden gem is just what Louisville needs! My husband and I finally ventured over to Rawnaissance for dessert after dinner one evening and we already can't wait to go back. I have previously tried the chocolates created by the owner but had yet to try any other dessert. We were greeted by Carrie who was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. We tried the bourbon and cherries chocolate cake and it was delicious! No wonder it was the last slice in the case! This is uncomparable to any other vegan dessert. The consistency is smooth and the flavor is wonderfully rich! Many vegan desserts are gritty or taste very processed, but not at Rawnaissance. No matter what your dietary habits, everyone should give this place a try!

I want to take a moment and thank Rawnaissance raw organic desserts for their quality desserts that are both delicious and nutritious. For a family with several food intolerances and allergies, we quickly found ourselves at home here with tons of options that taste great. Their Derby Pie is outstanding and I will eat anything with chocolate and peanut butter that they make. My wife loves their orange and dark chocolate pie. Thanks!!

We are officially regulars of Rawnassance. We eat a plant-based diet and this place is fantastic for occasional indulgent treats. My favorite, so far, is the caramel chocolate pie. My husband has even ventured away from his peanut butter to try Barbara’s other delicious offerings. Today, he enjoyed the triple chocolate, pictured with this review. Since the owner has incorporated more keto options, these often take up her fruity choices. I’ve not tried those since they went keto. Her regular raspberry absolutely popped with flavor. Their coffee roaster is one of my favorite. Yes, prices are higher than some other dessert places but the consistent quality, organic, gluten-free, unique rawness and superb ingredients while still looking pretty make this a great option for a nice dessert. BTW: ‘ice cream’ and chocolates are delicious.

This is one of the best little dessert places you’ll ever go to. Their rotating selection of desserts is absolutely incredible and will blow your mind every time you go in. All of their dishes are made with natural ingredients and organic sweeteners - just enough so the desserts are sweet, but no so sweet that it tastes like a blog of sugar (like a lot of standard American desserts). Amazing place for some sweet treats, whether or not you have dietary restrictions! They have an array of options for everyone. I had a piece of keto marbled chocolate cake and it was the best keto dessert I've ever had. Also had the keto gelato, which is the best gelato I've had PERIOD. Highly recommend this place to anyone who's got a sweet tooth.

Where do I start. I really love these desserts. I got a pumpkin pie, race day pie, and the classic peanut butter chocolate. I had the plan of getting only 1 slice. So I went around closing time becuase I thought there wouldn't be many options to choose from. But boy was I wrong. A few more pies and cake came out before closing. One of them that didn't make it out just yet becuase it was too close to closing time was race day pie. Which is my FAVORITE. Ms. Barbora was so nice to bring me out a slice. These desserts remind me of a thick whipped/mousse like dessert with just the right amount of flavor. The race day pie is light yet creamy with just the right amount of sweet that I like. I ate the pumpkin pie before I finished this review, so I can't show you what it looked like before it was eaten, sorry, but oh so yummy in my tummy.

DELICIOUS gelato in a yummy cone and equally delicious small dessert cups! The staff were extremely kind and helpful. I'm so happy this place exists! It's impossible to find organic desserts let alone gluten free, raw, and non-GMO in this area. I will continue to be a repeat customer and really hope it stays in business because it's so amazing and needed! Come try for yourself!!!

the lavendar dark chocolate is pictured. We voted that our favorite (other than the 10 yr old). Second favorite was orange dark chocolate then peanut butter chocolate. We decided the cherry bourbon was too much sweet from the cherry and didn't really have a bourbon flavor. The dark chocolate wasn't bitter at all and they all complimented the chocolate they were paired with perfectly. My guy can't do gluten, eggs, or lactose so it was great finding a place that was delicious and safe for him to eat. None of it tasted healthy. Just rich and decadent. It is healthy though since it is raw vegan. So yay! That is our review of 4 slices of cake!

Absolutely best bakery ever!! Tastiest gelato that you can’t go wrong with!! Every flavor I tried was creamy, rich and perfectly sweetened. The keto cakes are also amazing, lemon and raspberry, lemon and blueberry, berries and cream, and tiramisu were all flavors that I tried and loved! Went with my boyfriend and his family and we thought it was the highlight of our trip. I have a lot of GI issues so it’s so refreshing and exciting to have a go-to pick me up place for delicious treats that you can’t find anywhere else.

You won't be able to tell the difference in taste compared to the high end quality regular stuff. This is by far the best vegan gluten free dessert cake I've had. It wasn't that expensive either! The cakes are super rich with a velvety texture and multiple great flavor combinations. They offer slices, small and large cake sizes for purchase. They also have a very large menu of other desserts too! I will go here for all my desserts from now on!!!

I absolutely love this place! I found out about it through being a doordash driver. I am so glad I checked it out! I had a golden mylk latte and it was amazing.. the cheesecake was out of this world as well. I’ve tried so many flavors! It’s a hard tie between dreamcicle and lavender for me. Got a few slices as a birthday present for myself. They were all sickly sweet, not worth $6.99 per slice imo. I'd recommend trying a few slices instead of ordering a whole cake ($29.99) so you save money and also know what you're going to get. I was very hopeful because of the reviews but aside from looking pretty, the taste isn't pleasant.

Amazing! I had heard good things but I was blown away by the flavors that Rawnaissance is able to put out. The Dreamsicle cake was more than I could have hoped for and captured the whole “summer’s sunny afternoon” feel perfectly. The dark raspberry cake had a smooth texture & stayed true to RAW flavors. Incredibly good desserts! I bought different types to make up a entire cake for my dads birthday. They were some of the best cakes/desserts I’ve ever had and they were healthy!!! My entire family loved them and everyone was highly impressed! Plus they were beautiful. The inside of the store was really well organized and beautiful. My vegan best friend was in town before and making the drive to see her parents in Eastern Kentucky we stopped in to try a dessert for the first time. The decor is quaint and the desserts looked beautiful. She tried the chocolate cappuccino cake and I had the orange and dark chocolate cake. The only complaint about the cappuccino chocolate cake was the crust 's texture was off putting. The orange chocolate was tasty. The price was a bit high for the size of the slice of cake.

I LOVE this place so much. If you’re looking for healthy desserts, look no further! However... my rating did not extend to five stars because of my only complaint. Personally, I don’t suggest ordering the gelato by the scoop. I ordered one scoop to go, and it was.... so so small. I finished it with two spoonfuls, and it tasted quite old. :/ I’ve never had a bad dessert here, but the gelatos? Too little a serve for the price.

One of the nicest and most welcoming restaurant. I’ve never felt so welcomed and warm by a store as much as I did with Rawnaissance. The desserts are a little pricey but they are completely worth it. I’m not a fan of vegan desserts but I could not tell a difference from them to dairy based products! Please try one of their desserts at least once in your life! You won’t regret it!!

One of my favorite spots in Louisville. It is the #1 place I recommend for people to go when they are in Louisville. The most exquisitely tasty and beautiful treats you’ll find. And you still feel good after eating it! Everyone knows how much I love it, so I got about 10 slides of cake for my birthday from different people, and i wasn’t one bit mad about it! Such a wonderful staff and great atmosphere as well. Highly recommend the race day pie gelato, dark mint chocolate gelato, and literally any of the slices. (Lavender chocolate and mint dark chocolate (tastes like an Andes mint) are my favorites, if you’re feeling fruity, I highly recommend the lemon raspberry. you really can’t go wrong!

We are visiting from out of town and were told to come here by a local. We are vegan and there are not a lot of great dessert options where we are from. There are so many flavors of raw cheesecake! We tried the gingerbread cheesecake- YUM! A beautiful cake with great flavor. I don’t feel heavy after eating it which is a plus! Very friendly barista- we will come back next visit!

Hands down, the BEST restaurant place in town! They're the best because for as amazing as the flavors and textures are, they're also not nearly as bad for your as other desserts because everything is RAW and VEGAN. If I had to pick one favorite, it's the MILKSHAKE! So rich and creamy! There are times where the shop will be closed early, but that's because they sell out often! I don't mind because that shows this small business is BOOMING! :D

I'm about the furthest from being a vegan as you get. That said i would eat here every day given the opportunity. The variety and care that goes into their product amazes me. They have fantastic icecream on top of it. You will not be disappointed. If i have one critique of this place to pass on to the owners it would be to try to thin out the crust a little. Being so thick and cold makes it hard to even break off at times and the ratio to the cake can overwhelm the flavor a little.

If I could leave more than five stars I would. The lady that helped us was absolutely amazing 😍 she gave us all the information we needed before we even asked! The cake was outstanding, we got a piece of everything I think lol. She told us we were able to put it in the freezer if we didn't finish it off and she was right. It tasted just as good as if we had just bought it. We asked her if it would keep for over an hour and she said it might melt a little so let me hook you guys up with our freezer box put everything in a box with styrofoam liners and four freezer packs to keep it cold it was amazing. This customer service will stick with me forever and I will always go back 💜

The strawberry and blueberry cakes are my favorite. Delicious and the only place you can get something like this in town that I know of. Owner is very nice and she even donates to the kitties of the Cat Cafe next door! Very happy to have something like this in Louisville. We need more of it!

We wanted to try a new dessert place. Needless to say we will be coming back. The cake selections are for sure guilt free and delicious made with extremely healthy ingredients. The owner is such a sweet heart, extremely nice and friendly. I also loved the vast amount of tea selections she has there. Next time i will try some of the chocolate. We cant wait to come back! If youre wanting to try a new, healthy alternative to hit that sweet spot then this is the place to go.

There aren't many places to get vegan desserts around here so when I find one I'm there! Very first time at Rawnaissance and I was very impressed! Not only was the customer service excellent but so was my dessert. I ordered the neapolitan cake and it was amazing! The taste was very flavorful and clean. I hate I only ordered one slice. By some incredible circumstance, I woke up today to find myself the mother of a tiny baby who turns 23. I went to the best vegan bakery in town for her favorite chocolate cake and it was closed due to weather! So I sat in front of Renaissance Bakery for 40 minutes calling every other vegan or vaguely vegan bakery and restaurant in town looking for a vegan cake. While I sat there, Barbara, the owner, popped by to pick up something from her kitchen. Yes, I stalked her on the street and asked to buy anything she had available because I’m a mom, that’s why. She not only had a luscious chocolate cake but she decorated it for me while I waited with edible roses for my Emma Rose and then brought it to my car. I know they are much bigger problems going around today than my needing a birthday cake, but Barbara showed extreme kindness taking care of my issue. Thank you Barbara!

My husband is really picky with anything that is gluten free but he loved his slice of chocolate cake and we were there until closing and got to talk with the owner for a bit. I encourage everyone to try her desserts and coffee

I ordered a keto white chocolate and strawberry cake for my wife who is keto. I got a slice of carrot cake for myself because I watch calories not keto. Unfortunately I didn’t listen when they said the keto cake has Xylitol instead of Erythritol sweetener as she is one of the people who can’t tolerate Xylitol. The cakes are beautiful but frankly I didn’t enjoy the flavors of either very much. I think for people who are committed to this type of diet these cakes are good but I think, for me anyway, a small amount of traditional simply tastes better.

De-freakin-lisous Although I’m not a fan of nuts I didn’t mind how it blended well as a substitute because I’m doing the keto diet. I had the blackberry, white chocolate, berry cream. We weren’t a fan of white chocolate but the others were good. Can’t wait to try the key lime pie and dreamsicle. I almost felt like I was cheating on my keto because of how sweet it seemed. They give you a large slice. I paid 21 for 3 slices. But it’s worth it if you don’t want to cook keto sweets at home. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff

I felt like I died and went to food restriction heaven. This is the only place where I can actually eat EVERYTHING on the menu (besides Annie May's). NO dairy, no gluten, no soy, and non GMO. Even the ice cream cones are gluten free. There are even several keto options (made with natural sugar free sweeteners) for those times when I was to be responsible with my sugar intake! They even have a loyalty club where you get a free slice of cheezcake. This will definitely be my new ice cream and cheesecake spot.
