Can't say enough about the "cinnamon fries" donuts(Persians in disguise). Great taste, really look forward to having one on every visit. Tried the pumpkin caked donut this time as well, right amount of spice to it. The staff is always friendly!

We like the Bismarks!! They are soo delicious! If you have never tried them, you really should. The only thing is, if you do like them and want to order some, you should call ahead or get to their Bakery VERY EARLY in the morning. I'm talking before 7am. It's worth getting up earlier than normal. :)

Boydens is a great "staple" donut shop. Typically fast in and out, they carry your typical assortment of the classics plus some seasonal varieties for holidays like Mardi Gras, Christmas, etc. Also open early in the morning, it's a great place to swing in on the way to work for breakfast. You can place a call ahead order the day before if ordering for a large group and they'll have it ready. Also very affordable!

We stopped to get a quick snack; cherry danish and pumpkin cookie. The danish was so soft and had enough fruit for each bite. We grabbed the Carmel apple rolls on a whim for the next morning and they they very good warmed up, super sweet (though).

I have been getting donuts for the office and birthday cakes for friends and family from Boyden's for years. Everyone always loves the quality and taste of their baked goods. The cakes are always beautifully decorated, and they do a wonderful job with special decorating requests. I highly recommend buying baked goods for all of your special occasions from Boyden's!

Always delicious but last week when I picked up Christmas cookies for work I picked up a couple of gingerbread men and when I got home they were very soft and gooey that's not how I expect gingerbread. Then today a CO worker brought in some more cookies from there and some gingerbread men and these gingerbread men were nice and crisp like I expect them to be so I guess mine were not cooked enough.

I’ve came into this place twice, already. My first visit was like last October and was able to walk out with some of the best tasting eclairs I’ve had in years. My most recent visit was a couple of weeks ago, I had 2 filled chocolate long johns (which were so very rich to the point that I regret getting 2 😆. But, oh well!) a long with a peanut bun and everything I had were so good. I will definitely, make another visit in the near future!

I came to Boyden's Bakery at the suggestion of a coworker. If you want a sweet treat they quite possibly have the sweetest donuts I've ever had. There's no skimping on the icing or filling here; these donuts are loaded. I don't go all the time but when I do I order an assorted dozen and let them pick. It comes out to $11 and some change and beats the heck out of what you'd pay at a gas station for a lesser quality treat.

I'm 54 years old now and I use to go to Boyden's w/my grandparents as a small boy. I still feel the same way walking through the door. Nothing has changed. Same quality, same wonderful treats. Do yourself a favor and make sure to visit around the big three holiday's Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Their dinner rolls are the best I've ever had, hands down. I usually buy three or four bags and keep some of the freezer because I want them throughout the year not just during the holidays.

My son and I came 30 min before closing on Saturday evening and got an blueberry cream cake and 1 dozen cupcakes. The cupcakes were incredible! The cake was so delicious and moist and best of al, the service was so friendly and welcoming! Overall a wonderful experience! Very pleasantly surprised

This was the only bakery near me that was open at 5am. I got there a little early and a very pleasant young lady opened a few minutes early. I bought doughnuts, a cinnamon apple cake, and danishes. Boyden's makes lovely cream puffs and eclairs. Their Cinnamon Peanut Fry roll is huge and delicious. Pecan Crispies are my favorite, but it's difficult to find anything you won't like! Friendly, efficient staff make it even better.

I've heard about this bakery for a long time, finally was in the area and stopped in to try it. Everything I heard about it was true! I stopped in Sunday about 11:30 am. still had a nice selection left. I took about 1 of everything - donuts - rolls. I got 16 items. They were all delicious. Loved them all, especially the Cannonball. Reasonable prices too! Highly recommend to donut eaters.

This is my favorite donut shop in Indianapolis. The glazed cake and glazed yeast donuts are so good. They also have a good variety of flavors offered. The staff gets through a line quickly and they’re always friendly. I hope it never changes. Just a great hidden gem on the south side.

I really like their donuts, and when I bring donuts in for my co workers, it's from here. They open very early. The prices are good. The people are nice. One or two of my co workers whine sometimes and say they want Long's, and I tell them they can't have any of these. That shuts them up. They stare and drool until I say, " okay boy you can have one but only if you beg. " That's right. People beg for these donuts.

I made it over in time to get doughnuts. I think it was maybe around 10 am, and there were plain yeast and maybe 2 or three other varieties left. Last time they were all gone so I got danishes instead. They were excellent, as are the danishes. I also got snickerdoodles which were really good. The only negative is that I believe they make them early, and once they are gone, they are gone. They do not make any more. I will be back, I will just have to make sure I either get up earlier or order ahead. (To be fair, they did suggest that the first time, I just thought 10 would be early enough. That day it was right before closing so I wasn't entirely surprised that they were out)

The have great cookies and cakes. Their cake donuts are very flavorful. My mother will hardly touch a cake unless it’s a Boyden’s cake. The icing is definitely unique. It’s very sweet and creamy but somehow always has a crunchy thin layer on top. Try it. You’ll see what I mean.

Great cookies! Absolutely yummy and they had milk right in hand to eat with said cookies. My only tiff is the rude girl manning the counter! Very unhelpful. I absolutely love this place ❤ friendly staff and lovely little establish thats been around for a while letting people have a bit of joy in their day to day lives. My grandma said they have been here at least 20 years. The only thing even remotely close to being negative about Boyden's is THEY DONT MAKE ENOUGH DONUTS!!! If you go in the morning around when they open you're good but if you go around noon or later you'll be lucky to find any donuts at all.Love this place and think everyone should give it a try 😊

I want to like this place so bad but... For pastries its a bit higher priced than other places and more than i think it should be. Most pastries seem to be made of the same dough or whatever and all kinda taste the same. The doughnuts are good but the yeast are the dense kind which i only like sometimes (i like the airy ones a bit better). I think i spent $13 on a dozen yeast once?! Its also one of those places where if you dont get there by 9am, good luck having any kind of selection to choose from and they arent making any more. Many times ive come in around noon to get a couple doughnuts for lunch and they didnt hardly have any. And on Natnl Doughnut Day...good luck getting even ONE if its after 9am. Its easy to spend $8-10 here if you're not careful. This place doesnt hold a candle to Longs.

Absolutely the most underrated bakery in the Midwest at the very least, from as long back as anyone can remember until she passed last year my grandmother Margaret Fields was never caught without a loaf of cream bread and in her own words wasn't treated better than she was there (Mrs. Fields is what was always written on her orders). Yet people only talk about and visit bakeries with donuts for whatever reason? BSB doesn't offer any which is perplexing because I know they would be awards winning along with the rest of that heavenly place. {Boyden 🍞 staff} convince the decision maker over there to allow you all to put a few donuts on the menu and I will market the hell out of them free of charge!

I consider myself a donut connoisseur (particularly of glazed variety). Some may think all glazed donuts taste alike, but I beg to differ! I was lucky enough to sample a Boyden glazed donut this morning when a coworker brought them into work and was pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture (not too heavy/cakey and not so fluffy it melts on contact, perfect amount of glaze!). The only other bakery that competes with this experience (in my opinion thus far) is Square Donuts. This has given me a reason to visit the south side!

Boyden's Bakery has been a long Southside staple for 45+ year's that I can remember. Their Donut's are made fresh in store. They don't hesitate to fill that Jelly donut up. They are diffently worth stopping and get some everyday. Also have the awesome baby Gators and cookies and cakes.

Honestly, Boyden's is undoubtedly the best bakery that Indy has to offer. All of their products are always fresh and delicious, and the staff couldn't be friendlier. This is certainly the place to go if you're looking for great baked goods with a home-grown appeal. Ask for their homemade oatmeal creme pies! You won't typically see them on display, but they're a must-have!

Let's be honest there are lot of old school selection of bakery goods and items to purchase would love to see a few more updates on selection but I do understand So let's get to it this bakery built it's name and reputation on the fine products you can purchase I took a shot on the chocolate chip cookies and just the smell and the taste of the rich butter flavor built in it has been the best chocolate chip cookie I have tasted in over 40 years of my memory so far So get up and get out head over to Boydens definitely one of Southsides greatest little secrets

I lived in Indy 20-odd years ago. I used to stop at Boyden's 3 or more times a week for their alligator pastries (kind of like a flat coffee cake with maple frosting), They were absolutely scrumptious. After I moved back to Ohio, they'd slipped my mind. My wife and I decided to make a road trip to Indy, to see what had changed and see if we could eat at any old haunts. I started mapping some spots and saw Boyden's was still open. I called to be sure, and pre-ordered a bunch of alligators. Nothing had changed. They were still absolutely amazing. We picked up a few other items (cherry danish, sugar cookies and a cinnamon roll), all of which were just as good, if not better, than those hoity-toity "craft" bakeries. Boyden's is a small, hometown, community bakery that can hang with any of the big boys. If you come to Indy, swing by for an alligator. You will not be disappointed.
