Koala is one of those places that you can taste the love and passion the owners have for their craft. When entering the shop you are always greeted with welcoming faces and the hardest of decisions! Every flavor I have tried (and there has been a lot) has been exquisite but a few that really stand out are the barbacoa, sausage & gravy, and the cinnamon rolls! If you're a kolache lover such as myself, this little gem is a must. I can't wait to stop back in and try the next amazing flavor creation.

So far one of our favorite place for a kolache. The brisket was good, the boudin was great. Kids loved the donut. The special ice cream filled was very fun and tasty. They had loads of cereal toppings and about 6 flavors of ice cream. Employees where very nice. They seem to sell out of favorites by end of lunch.

Koala Kolache is a unique donut/kolache shop owned by a super friendly & cute couple. Yes it is true the she is the "crazy donut lady" in a sense that she is funny not cray cray. I didn't get a chance to taste the boudin kolache because they we sold out when we got there at 11am. But we a had a wide selection of pulled pork, smoked sausage, Jimmy Dean sausage, ham & cheese & mac & cheese kolaches. My son had the 2 step donut filled with cookie dough & cookies & cream with m&ms. Everything was delicious! We will be back for more!

The team at Koala Kolache never fail to impress. All food tells a story and the treats here tell it well. The love and passion along with the fearless creativity is presented behind a glass wall that thankfully is there to prevent me from eating everything! The cinnamon rolls are to die for and I was lucky to try a barbacoa Kolache, flavor explosion and a nice slice of jalapeno makes an amazing combo of heat and flavor. My favorite is the sausage and gravy. This has been attempted by many but here the gravy consistency is what you'd imagine along with the robust flavor of sausage. Unbutton a button when you sit and eat, bet you can't have just one. Thank you Koala Kolache!

We enjoyed the staff and ambiance of the place. It's bright and cheery and we enjoyed the selection of food available. It's a good place to bring the family if you've got a diversity of tastes to fulfill. The white color scheme and rustic aesthetic feel homey and welcoming to boot.

They had an otherworldly option for the non-pork eaters-Yay! I usually skip these places because of the lack of vegan options but my oh myyyy! The egg white and leek kolache was phenomenal !!

Unique kolaches. Great food quality. Cinnamon rolls with different "dressing". I got it with Nutella, Yum!. Cream puffs were great with filling that was light, rich, and not too sweet (can you say à là Français) yup, they were excellent. And yes, it was waiting in line for 20-30 minutes (see attached photo)

Some of the absolute BEST kolaches in Texas and quite possibly THE best. The owner is amazing and so is everyone that works there. They don’t just bake: they sell passion and love before the sun even comes out. There is a line for a reason. Enjoy.

First of all, super friendly people! This is a great place for your breakfast favorites AND dessert! They not only serve ice cream but will also add it into a donut and mix in the toppings of your choice. The Philly cheesesteak kolache is a favorite of mine and you have to try their "doscuits" (donut + biscuit sandwich). My 5 year old is now a huge fan of their sausage, egg and cheese doscuit.

Run don't stop and head to Koala Kolache... such a wide variety of delicious kolaches and pastries. Be sure to try their brisket and jalapeno cheese. Very popular. On weekends they do offer gluten free options that are absolutely delicious. If you must eat gluten free I recommend calling ahead and asking what they are offering that morning... they will happilt set aside your order. Impt! They will sell out of gf items so don't be disappointed when you go and find out their gf items are gone.

First time stopping by and it was great. If you were in the mood for the same kolache that you're used to there's 500 of the same thing being served within a 10mile radius, go nuts. Koala Kolache had a bunch of exciting new experiences and everything I tried was awesome! We'll likely be back next week to try some more unique flavors!! Friendly staff and owner as well

V (owner) is the sweetest. Whole staff is engaging and friendly. Great selection and smells are intoxicating. We had a friend visiting from another state who thought we were crazy when we told him about kolaches. Koala kolaches are on another level, the dough is soft and fluffy and the selection is great. This is a elevated kolache that you have to try if your in the cypress area.

Visiting from CA and didn’t even know what a Kolache was until I arrived. Happened to meet V(owner) at HTO and she sold us on coming by and trying some Kolaches. She was so sweet and nice. Kolaches were amazing. Had the sausage and gravy, spicy and regular brisket and grabbed a couple cinnamon rolls. All were amazing and can’t wait to go back. Thank you V!

We chose this place when we were on our way to start our road trip. We never heard of Kolache till we visited our friend in Texas. After tasting it it’s soooo yummy wish we have this in California!! Kolache here is great but the service wasn't too good. We ordered about 10 kolache in total and they kept forgetting our sweet kolache order. We had to tell them 3 times at the checkout. They treated other people who got only 1 or 2 kolache better than us. I meant maybe they know those people because they come often, but seriously, they don't want to treat new people well?? And when we asked for bags since there were just so many small paper bags of kolache that we ordered, they gave us one only. And the girl at checkout just gave an upset face when she dropped our sweet ones down. There are some other kolache shops like this but a bit further from our house so we will check those places out, maybe they will have better service than here.

Drove across town to grab some gluten free kolaches. I should have bought 3 dozen instead of only 3. They were warm and delicious, exactly what the wife wanted for valentines. Also left with gluten free cinnamon rolls and muffins. Highly recommend all of them! We will be new, regular customers.

I am hesitant to review this spot. The line is bad enough as it is! Their kolaches are the BEST in town. Unique flavors, amazing selection and fresh made in house. No Oscar Meyer hot dogs wrapped in Pillsbury dough at this spot My wife loves the Gyro and the Egg white and leek kolaches. I enjoy the spicy brisket the most. The cinnamon rolls are to die for!

Just stopped in this morning for the first time got the brisket kolache and the original cinnamon roll. The owner was very engaging and extremely friendly. We even discussed a Christmas pastry that I made and she was eager to get it and try it. Makes me think she would be very open to any type of customer request. As for the kolaches they were very well done and quite delicious. We will definitely be coming back for more, loved the large selection

The owner was the one to help us on our first visit and she was amazing. Her customer service skills was great. We drove an hour and couple minutes to get there and it was worth it. The kolaches were the best I've ever had and that says alot because am a picky eater and knows alot about baking. My boyfriend got a Nutella cinnamon roll and he loved it, it was not overly sweet and the flavors blended well together. We will definitely be going back here soon.

I first heard about Koala Kolache from my wife, as she had seen a post about it on Nextdoor and decided to give it a try. Then one Saturday morning she surprised me with some. Long story short, Koala Kolache is by far some of the best, if not the absolute best I’ve ever had! This morning, I talked my brother firefighters into giving it a try by telling them how amazing their Monty Cristo Kolache was. Unfortunately, they were out of them this morning, so we tried the spicy brisket along with a few others. I don’t know what heaven tastes like, but if it’s even close to their spicy brisket, count me in! The spicy brisket is now the best Kolache I’ve ever had! Her homemade bbq sauce should be bottled and sold! Anyway, if you’re in the Cypress area on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday Koala Kolache is a MUST try! You will NOT be disappointed! Koala Kolache is located on Spring Cypress between Louetta and Grant!

Absolutely breathtaking cinnamon buns! To die for! They kolaches are great, the owner is so darn kind and funny! ALWAYS has a smile on her face. The only criticism I have is there was a younger man there (college age maybe?) and he was SO rude to the owner when she asked him a question about taking something out of the oven. Other than that, the rest of the staff is amazing and our family LOVES this place!

Been going here for years the whole family is great. Was called Simply Donuts when mom owned it. Great people and the spicy boudin is the best. They run out quick. This is very trendy and great to keep trying her new flavors. Oh and the taco kolache is good too. So much positives. I would give them more stars if I could.

Really really really good stuff. We got one of everything, and all of it was top quality. The kolache bread was soft and chewy, obviously baked just minutes before we got there even at 10:30am. The sausage was authentic sausage and not cheap hotdog-like stuff you find at your typical neighborhood donut shop. They also have other specialty kolaches like Boudin (which was tasty) and Gouda/chicken/pear. They also have standard donut fare, like glazed, bear claws, chocolate iced, etc. so your pickier eaters will have a good time as well. But I think the best part was the service. The owners were so incredibly accommodating and legitimately excited to have our business. We will definitely be back.

I love the owner! Her and her employees are always super friendly and involved, makes me feel like I'm valued as a patron. I thought I knew good donuts an kolaches, these guys have set a new standard for me. They make everything out of scratch and you can tell they don't cut corners with anything, it shows in the quality. If this is your first time try their koala kake! It's your choice of a powdered, glazed, or plain donut, filled with ice cream and plenty of mixed in toppings to choose from! You won't be disappointed.

Every time I have come into the shop I am greeted with a warm smile! The donut lady keeps me laughing as she is taking my order. The food is out of this world good!!! My personal favorite is the jalapeño jumbo sausage croissant!!! It's mouthwatering good!! I would recommend them over anyone else even the big chain breakfast shops!!

I love Koala Kolache! I usually get donut holes here and they are amazing. Made from scratch, and so soft and sweet! Every donut I have from anywhere else literally doesn't compare. The Kolache are great as well. The bread is sweet, the stuffings of good quality.

Everything is amazing at Koala Kolaches from the different flavored cinnamon rolls to the kolaches. The bread dough used for the kolaches has such great flavor you cant just eat one. Plus a big selection of kolaches and other meat filled breads. They even have ice cream. Owner/manager has some great vision. And I don't mean eye sight.

If you are considering trying Koala Kolache stop right here and DO IT NOW!!! You will not regret it. It is worth the drive and worth the calories!!!! The owner is super sweet and very energetic. You can tell she really pours her heart into this place and it shows with the quality of food and the adorable store front. The cinnamon rolls are TO DIE FOR!!!! We had the Nutella and Regular and omg I did not have a single ounce of guilt of the calories I was consuming because it was so delicious. We also had the sausage and gravy kolache and YUM.. SO delicious. Also tried out the mochi donut (last donut available) and loved it!!! Can't wait to try out some of the glazed donuts AND my favorite the blueberry cake! I came around 11:30 (#momlife) so obviously very late so missed out on some of the staples but I have my eye on the raspberry cinnamon roll and the smoked brisket kolache next. Wish this place was closer to us so we could frequent it more.. this will for sure be a weekend breakfast stop for us!!!

Amazing kolache and donuts. Don't expect to settle for a chain donut after trying this gen of a place. I had the leek and egg and it's my new favorite combo for a kolache. I also tried the Thai Tea donut, why can't I have all my tea and donut form? The owner is amazing and to here her story and inspiration for starting her shop makes me even more excited to support a small business.

Absolutely delicious kolaches and donuts. Great customer service! Smoked brisket, halal and Spinach and Artichoke are all heavenly. The matcha donut and glazed donuts are by far the most amazing donuts I’ve ever tasted. Light and fluffy yet a little dense, just fascinating. The Nutella cinnamon roll was not that typical overly sweet flavor one can get with cinnamon rolls. They have moved to the top of our list for kolaches and donuts for sure.

Well first I would like to say the person I first saw was miss Vivian she was beyond helpful and so amazing in letting me know what is the “must try” It’ was my first time going there my family and I always try to find the best places to get food in Houston and honestly this is a must try the cinnamon rolls are to die for and the apple pie donut is amazing it’s so fluffly and it literally melts in your mouth . For a kolache store the kolaches are kind of bland and not so yummy. I didnt even finish mine. They were given to me cold, but I'm not sure if that's how they are supposed to be. Was I suppose to ask for them to be heated? The cinnamon buns are good but of course fattening (like any cinnamon bun) with all the sugar on these they were almost too sweet for me. i took off an extra star just cuz theres no mask on the chef and they were talking to me for a long time without masks and right now masks are important for me during covid 19.

I literally drive 20 miles to come here! I love their glazed donuts and kolaches!! It's worth every damn mile! You must try their Koala Kakes! Its donuts with a spin of ice cream of your choice and toppings! (Don't let anyone tell you that you can't have dessert for breakfast!) We went to eat a Koala Kolache this morning for breakfast. I'm honestly not a big fan of glazed donuts, but this was the best glazed donut I have ever had and now it might be one of my new favorites! It wasn't greasy and it was only glazed on one size which was the perfect amount of sugary goodness. We also tried the spicy boudain kolache and it was so soft and the boudain was delicious. The bakery is completely different from any donut shop I have ever been in before, totally redesigned and very clean and stylish. After finding out that these guys moved I had to drive the extra couple of miles, which isn't much, they are TOTALLY worth it. Their new location looks stunning, and I was informed they are still remodeling, can't wait to come back and see the finished product. Nothing compares to their amazing products. I have had everything they offer and they have yet to disappoint me. If it's your first time here; Their boudin kolaches are a must have. Their koala kakes come in different coatings, my favorite is the plain, your choice of ice cream and then you also have the option to add a mix in. After a long day on the road with my daughter, we decided to drive an hour and a half extra to visit koala. It was worth it. I met one of the owners and she was amazing. The kolaches were light, fluffly and delicious, like my grandma used to make, just with different fillings. The owner listened to our interesting day on the road and gave us a nice gift. It really turned our day around, thank you. The motto is leave happier and I couldn't agree more.

Disappointed to not find donuts but the kolaches are pretty good. We didn't stray too far off the usual path, since they have unique options such as a gyro, black bean enchilada, and a fajita with mango, but none the less it was a good kolache. Nice bread and decent amounts of cheese and sausage in the real kolache. We would give the sweet selection a 2 though since there are only various cinnamon buns.

Hands down best donuts and kolaches around!!!! You can taste the freshness and koality ingredients of the food. If you need a pick me upper in the morning their customer service is exceptional. I wont feed my child anything else after finding this gem. They use all natural ingredients, real meats not to mention their kolaches are all made from scratch. We tried the Scallop Potato, boudin, sausage and gravy, and The Real kolaches. All of them were sinfully delicious! The scallop potato tastes like a family holiday. We also got an old fashion, kronut, blueberry, devils chocolate, and apple fritter. Nothing disappoints, I even loved the Apple fritter (which is usually not top of my list)! The owner is so friendly, she always makes us smile. If you’re in the area you should try them!

I am SO HAPPY that Koala Kolache moved so much closer to my side of town. My husband and I used to travel to the old location where we thought was so worth the drive for their delicious donut ice cream sandwich! Now, we are even happier because new items constantly emerges and we can’t help but to indulge in almost everything!!! Kolache is what they seem to mainly focus on (hence the name, hellooo...), but they do also offer other items such as their mochi donut, a variety of danishes, and can’t forget their AWESOME CINNAMON ROLLS! Ugh... drool! I love both the original and the raspberry. Now that fall season is rolling in, better believe they now have pumpkin in the mix! You can even request for extra frosting, and the owner is happy to slather more on your guilty pleasure! Some of the recent Kolaches I have tried and currently am obsessed with are the Thai Basil and chicken masala. I seriously hope this becomes a permanent item on their shelf! It’s super flavorful and my husband really loves chicken masala/ butter chicken. Last but not least, I really look forward to coming here every single time! The owner ALWAYS greets everyone with the biggest smile and she is super friendly. It’s like coming to see your long time friend every single time we go visit this shop! Definitely have and will continue to recommend this place to all friends and family! Nothing beats great hospitality with delicious and unique kolaches!

We just left here for the first time and I’m already inclined to write a review. Koala’s was sooooooo good.... I’m not a big kolache lover not because I don’t want to be, if that makes sense? But really because I’ve never really really liked any that I’ve had before. But NOT anymore. The dough, let’s talk dough lol. It was so freaking good and home maid; you can tell all of the ingredients are fresh. Oh and Let me tell you also... Cinnabon who? Lol the cinnamon roll is the best ever!!!!! Also, as a vegetarian it’s very hard to find good kolaches. Great selection and mix of items to choose from. A 35 minute drive well worth it! We will be back for sure. Customer service was beyond wonderful. With that said, we def left happier and our tummies too! Lol

Hands down the absolute best kolache shop I have ever been to. Ever. I will drive from Fairfield, just because they're that damn good. I was a little leary to try some of the concoctions they have here. But everything I have had has been absolutely amazing. Their egg white and leek soinds weird, it's AMAZING, so was their OK kolache. I'm telling you, you can't find better food for any price. The people that work there are fantastic. You can't ask for a better place to go to fill your belly with a delicious food from the gods. I love them and I will be going back, probably too often. That is all.

The food is amazing. I got one of each for the office. The sasauge and gravy was the bomb. Plenty of sasauge and homade gravy. You could taste the smoke on the spicey brisket Kolache and there was plenty of meet. The non meat eaters in my office love the black bean enchilada. Every in the office loved the others. The best part of this place is the owner. You can tell she is a hardworking and loves her job. She is as sweat as can be. The owner makes everything from scratch and she is very charismatic. You can tell everything is made from scratch from the quality of the food. Such a great interpretation of the Texas kolache! I tried the spicy brisket, spicy gyro, and jalapeno popper ones. My favorite was the brisket, but each one was just so perfect. Perfect kolache bread, and stuffed with delicious meats. I can imagine it's hard to go wrong with any of these!

More of a Kolache place for adults. We went in on a Sunday after 11am and nl donuts or thinga kids like. I did try Sausage Gravy Kolache which was ok. But sausage had strange Taste! No prime used to. Also tried Black Bean Chicken was ok. Tried Lemon danish kolace ok. Place is cute decor in Farmhouse style. What ruined it for me was the service. I dont know why the woman who run me up...flung the bag on counter to me. As oppose to slide toward me or hand across..maybe she didn't realize its kinda Rude. We wont be back..especially paying higher prices. Tried and disliked. Theie Bedside Manners were something left to be desired. Oh well.

Sweet baby Jebus these are probably the finest kolaches to ever cross the threshold of my lips (and I’m a fat gal from Texas - I’ve eaten A LOT of kolaches.) The kolache flavours change with seasons; crawfish ettouffe, brisket, turkey & Swiss, grilled cheese, leek & egg white...you’ll want to try them all - but get here early because they start selling out as the day goes on. And... let’s talk about the sweet pastries while we’re here; cronut holes with definitely homemade icing that make you want to roll your eyes into the back of your head, cinnamon rolls that are moist, (gross word but delicious results), and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of icing that makes you wonder why you wasted calories on all those subpar cinnamon roll imposters out there. If you need a reason to get up and get going in the mornings (except Mondays; they’re closed) this should do it for you and then some! The proprietary coffee blend is a fantastically bitter but smooth compliment to all of these wonderful carbs - get a large on your way out. 💕 We walk our dogs down here on Sunday mornings & share some kolaches with them in the little patio chairs out front. It’s a treat for the whole family!

This place is hands down the best kolache shop in town! As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is extremely welcoming and the aroma is mouth watering. Peace, Brian and the "crazy donut lady" were all so friendly and enthusiastic. They all gave me great suggestions on what to add to my kolache and that made my experience there so much better! I'm not a big fan of mustard but who knew that adding mustard to the boudin kolache would be so satisfying!! The kolaches were absolutely as the "crazy donut lady" would say BOMB!! "The real" kolache contained the closest sausage I've had to West, TX Czech stop's kolache, which is the highest compliment you can pay a city kolache place (but don't get crazy it was only half as good). Enjoyed the brisket kolache and the cinnamon twist was nice and soft. Disappointed they don't heat up your kolaches without you specially asking for it. It would have been way better hot and with melted cheese. I never know why any kolache place views heating as optional. Overcrowded due to hype. When it calms down this will be worth a small drive

I can't say enough about Koala Kolache. We found this place by chance a few years ago (before they rebranded and changed the name) and we simply fell in love with the service before we even tried the kolaches. They make you feel like family. They started creating a bunch of new kolaches and we havent' stopped trying them. Taco, mac n cheese, boudin, philly cheese steak, loaded mashed potato, chicken and feta...there are so many to choose from. We drive 6 miles and pass up several donut/kolache stores to go to Koala on Sunday mornings. And now they went and started selling Koala Kakes..ice cream stuffed donuts, so we have to go after school sometimes, too. I would say it's for the kids, but I would be lying. Cinnamon sugar donut with coffee ice cream and kit kats is to die for. Don't listen to me go on and on, go check them out for yourselves.
