Wonderful ambience, extremely neat, some of the best staff I have ever encountered. We tried Mango sensation and we took a small size. However, the quantity was so much that two of us couldn’t finish it. The photos itself show how good it looked. Now for the tricky part. I am not a big fan of shaved ice but still wanted to try as it was thing to try in Hawaii. I am more of an icecream person. Also felt it was little expensive for the kind of food you got. But for the quantity, quantity and ambience it was worth it.

This place is a great stop to cool down and enjoy some sweetness! We had the coffee and Thai tea flavors and they were both delicious. They both come with a few topping for extra flavor. The texture of the frozen ice is so satisfying and tasteful! Remember to use a coupon from the little books you see on all the sidewalks to get 15% off!

This place was delicious! They are also fairly reasonably priced. We ordered a small strawberry, mango and coffee shaved ice and four people shared it. We could barely finish what we ordered! It’s open late and it’s got great customer service! I would definitely go out of my way to come back here again!

Everything is amazing and unique. The ice is shaved from a flavored ice block. Ice cream, fresh boba and milk pudding are added on the side. Flavor is very good. Way better than the ones with ice and syrup added on top. Wish they can have more stores in the mainland US.

Their shave ice is to die for! It was so good, we returned two more times! We even gave their ice cream popsicle a chance and it was also really good, packed full of flavours! Yes, it is a tad pricey for ice cream but worth a try! Look for a coupon in the Oahu's Best Coupons book.

Love shaved Ice. The best way I can describe the texture it is it is like ICE CREAM COTTON CANDY. It starts dissolving as soon as it touches your mouth. I LOVE THE MANGO. The shaved ice at Ice Monster was so delicious that we had to visit multiple times during our 1 week stay in Waikiki. Their shaved ice is made from flavored ice blocks, unlike shave ice which is flavored mainly by sweet syrups. We tried the matcha sensation, fresh mango sensation, and milk tea sensation, and they were all amazing. The fresh mango sensation, in particular, was reminiscent of the shaved ice we had in Taiwan! Would highly recommend! I just wish Ice Monster would open more branches in the U.S.!

This was my first time trying a shaved ice. We got the matcha flavor with bubbles, and ice cream, it was delicious. In the afternoon it’s not crowded at all, big place, lot of space to sit around. The guys were super nice. They have different flavors and also some other options like smoothies. Definitely worth to try!

Weird textures but it's tasty. HUGE portions!! This was the small, but it's an XXL anywhere else. It's like a frozen fruit smoothie turned shaved ice. Come here if you want those fruit smoothie flavors.

Delicious, esp the pineapple shaved ice. But grossly understaffed. The poor guy in the man bun was manning the counter, taking orders, cleaning machines, making shaved ice and toppings ALL BY HIMSELF. The wait was almost 20mins. Highly recommend hiring more people to meet the demand as the whole place was full with a line out the door

I don't say this lightly: this is the best shaved ice I've ever had in my life, and I just turned 40. The flavor is in the ice, not just syrup poured on top. My favorite is the Thai tea with tapioca pearls. My wife and I were visiting for 8 days and came three times. I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed their Matcha Sensation!!! The service was excellent. I stopped by not knowing that they had happy hours, so I originally wanted to spend my money on a small cup of shaved ice. I thought it was cheaper that way. Thanks to the cashier lady for letting me know that it was cheaper to order a large because of the 30% off discount.

After a nice dinner, I checked out Ice Monster Hawaiian Ice. Although they had many exciting and familiar Hawaiian ICR flavors, I ordered the Fresh Mango Sensation. The Ice felt like cold cotton candy, soft and tasty. The perfect dessert to end the warm night.

This shaved ice is really good, they are real fruit shaved ice, the texture feels like cotton, portions are very big and price not too bad, so if you’re trying to beat the heat, this is your pit stop.

Good mango sensation. The reason I gave it a 3-star is the price. It’s just not worth $16 (plus $3 for parking for a sole reason of visiting this place) for a large size mango-flavored shaved ice with a few fresh cubes of mango, plus a thin slice of almond jelly.

Hands down the best shave ice I had on Waikiki. Instead of ice with syrup or fruit juice, the ice is infused with the juice and frozen and then shaved to serve. They have fewer flavors but they taste amazing.

The ice here is unlike other ice places, the flavor is fused into the ice, and the way it’s shaved, the ice melts in your mouth. Mango is the house special and our favorite. We got a monster sized mango and a normal strawberry.

Been here twice in 3 days! The best dessert for a hot day! Super soft, melt in your mouth shaved ice served w ice-cream, real fruit/ boboa and smooth tofu dessert. The ice is so flavourful coz the block ice is frozen w the actual blended fruit, coffee or tea in it. Value for money... it's not colouring you r having but it is full of goodness. Shu served us on the 2nd visit... she is so friendly and helpful as we were wondering which flavour to go for! 😊 Just go for the Monster size... you won't regret it 🤤

Love their matcha ice cream. Also love the fact that they put boba on the side so it doesn't get tough by the ice cream. It was really considerate of them. It was really delicious. However, there was a few things that bothers me, it was really really really cold in the store to the point that it was really hard to eat in the store. Their tables werent cleaned as much as it should too.

I can’t even describe how delicious these shaved ice’s were. Just absolutely flavorful. The ice melts right in your mouth and the syrups used blended well with everything. You should try this place on a late night out! I will be back again :)

Honestly so much better than expected. I just wanted “some trashy icey creamy thing”, but it’s my exact right balance of sweet, creamy, earthy (I got matcha), and _refreshing_. ALSO the staff came over to add more caramel and condensed milk to mine because I ate through all of mine immediately like an animal. They offer a nice clean cozy space with various ice cream products of very good portion size, especially the Monster size! There are coupons in the local Oahu, Hawai'i publications, such as the Oahu's Best Coupons booklet, that offer really good savings to make the large servings an even tastier value!

Shave ice from Taiwan and offer similar menu. Taste like from Taiwan. Arrived at 9 pm, there was no line. Plenty of seats and table available. Get the large size to share for two people. Too bad ice is not served on dine in dishes. Presentation would be a lot nicer.

My husband and I shared a small coffee shaved ice and it was huge! And so delicious! I have never had anything quite like it. Underneath the ice was panna cotta and there's also a scoop of cookies and cream gelato. The place was clean and large and the service was friendly.

Hands down the best shaved ice in town. They actually use frozen coffee, matcha or whatever the flavor you order then shave that into a very fluffy and finely shaved ice. Topped with various add-ons.

I tried a couple shaved ice shops near Waikiki and this was our favorite one. There were 5 of us and we just bought two of the monster size to share. It was perfect. Also if u live here, student of military u get 20% off which made this totally reasonable.

Best shaved ice made with real fruits in Hawaii! #1 mango sensation was the best. #2 was pineapple and #3 strawberry flavor. It is a little pricey, but it's worth it for the taste that melts into your mouth.

Had the Matcha and the Mango.. This ain’t your mommas shave ice, it’s betta! It’s been sometime since I’ve been in Hawaii and was expecting shave ice from 20 years ago which was good. This is ssoo much better. If you get a chance stop in and see for yourself. It’s shaved super thin (like fluffy aired up powder lol) and served with extras like tapioca pearls and a scoop of sorbet or fruit plus coconut jelly and a drizzle of (what I think was) condensed milk. It IS a bit pricey about $12-14 for a small, which is too much for one, (but what in Honolulu isn’t 🤷🏻‍♂️) however you can save a couple bucks if you're affiliated with the military. Like most places in Waikiki you can get a discount if you’re military and ask.

We had Hawaiian shaved ice at a couple different places while in Honolulu. However, Ice Monster is definitely the best. We had the strawberry shaved ice and it was absolutely delicious. The small is huge and can be shared between two people, which is what my wife and I did. I wish we had tried this place earlier in our trip since we leave tomorrow and won't have time to try their other flavors.

Shave Ice on steroids! Had the Mango flavor and it’s delicious. Lots of mango flavor and also includes mango slices and a scoop of mango ice cream (sorbet per owners response). The mini (small per owners response) was huge, easily shared. Will be back.

They have limited flavors because they do not use syrup as most shave ice stores do. They embed flavors in the ice already. A good place for family because even two people cannot finish on dish. Super large!

It’s just the ordinary ice slash you can find in convenience stores. No idea why this place is so popular. You have to wait in line for fifteen minutes to order and another twenty minutes to get it. Really isn’t worth the wait.

This might be new or not, but it's new to me this time around. This place has a cool decor and some cool shaved ice flavors. We tried the papaya and the milk tea one. Both were very good and refreshing. The papaya in my mind was a bit more refreshing and had that fresh taste to it. The milk tea definitely reminded me of drinking milk tea. The boba and brown sugar grass jelly were also tasty.

This is the 4th shave ice we've tried. By far, this is the best. It's also very different. We tried mango, strawberry, pineapple and papaya. We loved all except maybe the papaya. Very light, the fruit and sorbet that came with it are all amazing. We are planning on coming back during our short stay here. Plus the customer service was amazing.

Interesting flavors and experience! I had the bubble tea small size, and it was large enough for 2-3 ppl. You should go for it if you are in Hawaii for the first time. Long line but it’s typical of Hawaii!

A lot of places around the island have shaved ice. Many are like snow cones - granulated ice with syrup. This is different and for me, more enjoyable. The texture is that of fragile sheets of ice cream that melt in your mouth. Kids loved it, went back twice.

It’s fun to watch and eat this mountain of deliciousness. This is different from the traditional Hawaiian shaved ice, since it’s made from flavored ice block instead of clear ice block. The shaving machine is also adjusted to create this soft puffy cotton-candy-like texture. The quantity is huge for one person to finish, so it’s usually shared among family or friends.

The shaved ice was too sweet and way too large portions. If 4 people walk in with different flavors you have no options to get a small size. However, the sorbets are amazing. They are very icey and my daughter loved the cookies and cream the most she begged me to take her back.

Ice monster, it's a pristine place. The store front in the middle of Waikiki busiest shopping centers The decor is rocking with their characters through the store and the color layout is beautiful. They have 3 sitting sections to choose from. The ice cream is delicious. And the workers are friendly. They have all favors and a variety of different items for sale. The pineapple shave ice was really good. The only mild complaint was that there was some smell in the shop and it got really bad that we decided to leave and the shave ice and enjoyed it back in our hotel.

I can't begin to explain the hold this place has on me. I have worked at several ice cream shops and being from Wisconsin who visits a lot, has a pretty good range on ice cream/shave ice. This is by the far the tastiest most delicious shave ice I have ever had. I would take the 9 hour flight just to have their Matcha and Black Sesame shave ice. If you are staying in the Waikiki are you must visit Ice Monster!!

Really good service and the coffee one my bf got was great. I got the papaya and the ice had a very odd aftertaste and I couldn't stand it. The papaya sorbet was amazing, and I wish I had just gotten a cup of that. I wouldn't recommend the papaya ice though, unless this happened to be a weird batch.

A must try! I went here a lot when my family was staying in Waikiki and loved it every time! My daughter loved the little popsicles. The guy that worked the register was a pro at customer service! Super friendly and informative. Definitely good at his job. These sweet treats are delicious and very refreshing. I only wish they had more flavors for their bubble tea, but I wouldn't consider that a deal breaker because you don't go there for that 🤣 Other staff was also friendly. I had an A+ experience everytime and environment was very inviting every time. Will definitely visit again!

This place is so much better than regular shaved ice. The texture of their shaved ice concoction is really like layers of tasty snow. Nothing compares. Once you have tried it, you can't go back to regular shaved ice. Unfortunately it's a bit on the pricey side but I can't stop now! Tried the Mango, Papaya, Matcha and strawberry flavors. I need to go back and try the rest!

The best shaved-ice in Honolulu! The ice is flavored so I like it better than the syrup on plain ice. A lot of ingredients! Extra cups for bobas and coffee jelly for the coffee shaved ice so it is really a lot!

I wish they will open this chain Ice Monster in the mainland. It is the best shaved ice I’ve ever tried in my life. I heard it was originally from Taiwan. The store located in the center of Waikiki area, next to Starbucks. They have several flavors and I choose to try the Matcha Sensation (since I’m a big fan of Matcha). Price is around $11.50 for a Small to $15 for a Large (little pricey for shaved ice... cuz it is Hawaii haha) but the taste is beyond expectations. My matcha shaved ice comes with brown sugar boba and a scoop of Sesame ice cream... trust me you won’t regret it!! I also love the store since its decoration is so cute and service is 10/10. Will visit again when I’m back to Honolulu ❤️

These desserts are very refreshing. I got their coffee flavored shaved ice. It's almost like having ice cream but, much lighter in flavor and texture. According to their website it's served with a scoop of cookies and cream gelato, panna cotta, and brown sugar jelly. I think calling this gelato is being very generous. It's barely passable as just ice cream. It's icy. It doesn't have a smooth consistency. It's presence here isn't offensive, though. The panna cotta and jelly are nice. They add an interesting complement to the shave ice.

The location itself is very new, clean and bright. The portions are large, but expensive as well (plan to spend about $15). The ice itself is super cold and shaved extremely fine, but the flavours are very subtle and almost bland at times (I had the papaya). It was enjoyable but not worth the price.

This is the best thing ever. I have no idea how they make ice this soft. Where most use syrup the ice is already flavored so it doesn't melt. The mango was delightful and my kids acted like savages on a fresh kill. We will be back here.

This place does shaved ice a little differently in that the flavor is in the ice block and then it's shaved. If you get the Sensations you can get extra like sorbet, pudding, and fruit chunks on the side. Very tasty.

Great spot for some shave ice! We have been to another location back home in Concord, CA, and this spot tastes just as good! I think we even saw the owner of that location over here. The selection isn't that big, but the flavors are! They have a new offering of popsicles if that's your thing. Just beware that the lines can get long.

For a shave ice place, this is really, and should be, one of the tops. Ice was shaved into 'thin-sheet" like, it is more like shave Popsicles where the flavors are already in the ice, so there was no syrup. It was topped with condensed milk that was not too sweet. Very refreshing and flavorful. A must try for Waikiki!

It does what it tries to do, which is the highest praise I can give a dessert shop. The Taiwan style shaved ice is unique and quite tasty (I enjoyed the tea flavor). Portions are large (even the smallest portion is); prices are probably what you'd expect (maybe 10% more expensive). Lotta cool flavors, great environment in there, nice vibe. Service was great, though it was pretty empty when I was there so I don't know what it's like if you have to wait in line.

Here again after a year and it’s just as good as we remembered. It took a little longer and done-in seating was limited but totally worth it for us! We always get the mango and the bubble tea both are delicious with strong flavors yet not too sweet which is just the way we like it. I typically get my boba milk tea zero sweetness so for me the bubble tea is perfect because the tapioca are served on the side for you to add as you like. If you want yours super sweet, I would recommend adding extra toppings.

Atmosphere was nice, with large seating area inside. The Strawberry Sensation we ordered was 'just okay' for the $10 price tag. Staff unfortunately did not have much knowledge when it came to dietary needs (when I asked the cashier what items were gluten free, I was met with a confused stare). At most there were only 3 people present behind the counter, so I would heavily recommend going before the dinner rush. Not bad, but definitely not "sensational."

Massive lines after 9 and it took about an hour to get the desserts. Flavors are pretty good and the Boba had a good texture. Is it worth waiting an hour plus? Maybe not, but it was the only iced dessert taking orders still on Waikiki. For clarity, this is not shave ice. It's closer to a Taiwanese shave ice. Not that that's a bad thing, but it shouldn't be confused!!

If you need to cool off from the Hawaii hot and sunny weather, this is the place for you in the middle of Waikiki on Kuhio Avenue. The place is large and with it's fun décor makes for an enjoyable place to relax while trying this unique Asian style dessert from Taiwan that anyone would enjoy if you like cold treats. It is a true shaved iced treat. The dessert is made from very finely shaved flavored iced that is impossible to describe. It is just something you have to checkout yourself. All I can tell you is that is is very delicious and will definitely cool you off as well as satisfy you for a snack or dessert. I tried the Papaya Milk Sensation which had fresh flavors of papaya shaved ice dessert with tapioca boba and panna cotta. It is great if you don't want anything that is overly sweet and has lighter flavors. I appreciated how they gave the warmed tapioca boba in a side container so that it didn't melt your desert before you could enjoy it. You just take a small spoonful of the warm tapioca and then dig into the papaya shaved ice for the full effect. One thing to note, is that is isn't a cheap eat, but you have to respect how they handcraft your dessert for you at time of ordering. It isn't like going to an ice cream parlor where they just take a scoop of your flavor choice and pile it on. I think it is worth it, but might not be the place for one who is budget conscious.

Such a yummy and light dessert. It is not your typical shave ice. The ice is literally shaved like an extremely thin deli meat. When you eat it it feels like fluff in your mouth. It is also made with fresh fruit! I love how they gave out samples outside. We ordered a small fresh mango sensation, keiki pineapple sensation and cookies and creme sorbet with caramel. They were all delicious! I would definately come back here again. My kids have a pretty picky palette and they give it a 5 stars as well. The staff was great. We received exceptional service from Brandon. They also give military discount which is awesome for my wallet.

Wow! This place was a pleasant surprise. Wasn’t sure what to expect as it wasn’t busy when we went. Friendly and patient staff with our group of 10! We shared the strawberry and pineapple shaved ice, but they had samples of mango—so good ;) Everything was consistent, and tasted fresh and healthy (compared to shave ice with syrup poured over). Ice very finely shaved, texture is very good and it melts in your mouth easily. Place needs one more size of ice below the small they currently have, and slightly lower prices. Ice tastes fine, but is slightly too sweet for my liking and would prefer a less concentrated fruit taste within the ice. Lots of potential here for a great waikiki hangout spot. Decor and atmosphere inside is great as well.

My son and I ordered two small servings, both delicious and sizable, and then decided we needed to try more flavors so we ordered two more of the minis, which barely fit in the bowls. Wow!!! We had the Mango Sensation and it was absolutely amazing... this is the super upgrade version of shave ice and the addition of panna cotta and fresh fruit pushed it over the top. Even if the line is around the block, totally worth the wait.

Fantastic place to get Taiwanese-style shave ice in Waikiki. The ice is so light and fluffy making the texture almost creamy. We ordered the pineapple shaved ice. It was served with a scoop of sorbet and a bit of panna cotta. The fruit was fresh and sweet. The price is a bit high but the portions are huge. The small size was more than enough for my wife and I to share.

Soooo good!!! I went to a couple of shaved ice places while in Hawaii, and this one was by far the most amazing!! They blend ACTUAL FRUIT with ice so that the resulting shaved deliciousness is just a delicious, soft, fluffy, and creamy treat. Yes it is expensive compared to say Matsumoto's but you're getting something miles better than just ice and flavored syrup. I recommend getting the minis or small and sharing with others to get your hands on as many flavors as possible. I was so sad to have only found it on my last day in Hawaii.... I would've totally gone there again and again had I known earlier...

What a treat!!! We got the papaya flavored ice cream monster sized! So it's a super light fluffy shaved ice and the texture is almost cotton candy meets ice cream. That's the only way to explain it! Served with warm boba balls on the side, flavored sorbet, and a creamy flavored jello like custardy thing that was amazing! It's the perfect size for 2 people to share, but they also have a smaller sized serving! Cant wait to come back and try the other flavors!

The shave ice is decent, typical Taiwanese style shaved ice. The portion sizes are huge but the prices you pay are way too expensive. $14 for a fruit flavor shave ice with barely any toppings? What a ripoff. They also do not validate parking so you gotta park somewhere else and walk over. However, they do a Kamaina discount which is 10% off if you show your ID.

Wow, I’m going to give this experience a 5 star rating because of the unique experience of eating pineapple frozen and shaved. I’m very familiar with the Taiwan Snow offerings and this is a more pure, simple, fruit only, anytime of day type of experience. Really, eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it won’t disappoint. Note: maybe more alarming is the Boba. Much more authentic to a Matcha experience with two versions of boba. This too could actually be an all day offering as well. Bring the family and friends. I’ll come back.

FYI: No restroom public or employee. Closest Restrooms are 2 doors East at Nordstrom or one block further at International Market Place. Also no parking available. There are several public parking garages a block away or if you're fortunate to find any-- spaces along the Ala Wai Blvd. Two blocks away. Ice Monster is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. DAILY. They use UberEats and DoorDash delivery.

The mango sorbet and mango chunks only serve to elevate the flavor of the entire treat. Our cashier Ava was very welcoming and attentive. First of all the service I had here was amazing! The worker was so sweet and even reminded me about a student discount which was so great because this is definitely on the pricier side... but it is so worth it! I got the matcha one and it was AMAZING. So fun it came with condensed milk, boba, charcoal ice cream scoop (I believe), and a drizzle of something over the matcha shaved ice. SO so good would recommend to a friend for sure. The small is $11, but $9 with a student discount. The small was still so big I would say to get that one.

The staff was pleasant and what seemed like the owner, noticed that we were in a bit of a rush with our order (our 5 mo old was getting a bit fussy while we were waiting for our order) and he kindly asked sped up the process of our order. Korean style solbin size 🍧 The store is on the first floor of a hotel along a big street, so it's easy to enter. It's a shop with a kind Japanese uncle, so Japanese is OK 👨

In all of Hawaii I have not found a place AS clean and organized as this on covid issues. All of their workers were wearing gloves and masks. Congratulations on that. Now, speaking of shaved ice, it's delicious. As soon as I tried it I said "it looks like I'm eating a cloud 🤣". I ordered the mango one and my husband the strawberry one, both were delicious, but the mango one was my favourite. Best place in Waikiki for a shaved ice. The texture and so soft and fluffy that you will forget it's just shaved ice. I ordered mango, my husband ordered strawberry. Mando was my favorite, although both were delicious. I think if you buy the monster, you can share it with someone else 😅 super super recommended ❤

My daughter recommended me to come here. I heard that there is a line in Japan, but in Hawaii it's always rattling. I've been to Snow Factory, which is popular in Japan, and it's always empty. But I think I'll probably go to the store next time I visit.

We shared a small of Milk Tea Sensation for two. Panna cotta is attached to milk tea shaved ice, and it is eaten with brown sugar tapioca. I don't really like shaved ice, but this shaved ice was so fluffy that I didn't get a headache, and the brown sugar tapioca was chewy and delicious. Since the amount of shaved ice is large, there were many people who shared and ate.

I have never eaten it in Japan. It was my first time. This is half size. I ordered matcha. Accented with grated black sesame seeds. Milk is poured over the top. Milk pudding on the side? Is there a little extra tapioca brown sugar? I got the taste.
