Best cupcakes hands down!!! We have ordered a couple of times and we are always impressed. Today we had cupcakes delivered for our 5 year old son’s birthday and he was so excited for his birthday cupcake. Highly recommend!

Had cupcakes and wedding cake ordered and delivered to my venue. They looked absolutely amazing! They delivered on time, they set everything up on the platters for me, and they looked absolutely stunning! Molly‘s cupcakes is very affordable as well and I loved how they worked with me to get exactly what we wanted for our wedding day! The staff is very polite, and very understanding. I had accidentally come through my taste testing at the wrong time and came an hour late. But they still took me in and took the time to set me and my fiancé down and do our tasting and worked with us even when it was busy and we had missed our time slot. I would definitely recommend them for any event as well as just for fun!

Sugar junkie review so take that in account. Ordered for delivery for my business on a Saturday. Easy process to do online. Went with the filled variety pack so people could choose their own. Well I ended up eating 4 of them. Over 4 days time so don't be too hard on me. All 4 I had were 10 out of 10. So moist, gorgeous to look at, no skimping on filling or frosting. I am usually a chocoholic but my favorite was a lemon one with no frosting. Never would have known if I hadn't hidden it back for myself. Delivered at the time I chose, delivery charge of $5. Total for a dozen $39. There are less expensive options, I just had to have the filled ones. Cannot wait for another excuse to treat someone to these. Next time will try a different goody. Yummy.

Molly’s did the tiered cake and sheet cakes for our wedding, and everything was amazing from start to finish! The tasting process was fun and easy, they were more than willing to make the design we wanted even though it wasn’t in their sample book, and everything turned out gorgeous and delicious. Everyone raved about how good the cake at our wedding was, even people who don’t usually like cake. We’ve even been told it was the best cake someone ever had! Cannot recommend enough. We love stopping in for a cupcake from time to time, too!

Those are wonderful freshly baked and prepared cupcake. The divers flavor are full of taste. The location is very cute and unique, such a gem in the heart of Des moines. The price is fair for that type of food. Staff is super kind and helpful. Those are calories you will enjoy.

We ordered a three-tier wedding cake and several mini cupcakes. The cake décor was everything I pictured and more! All of our guests can’t stop talking about how delicious the cake and cupcakes were. Stopped in for gluten free cupcakes for a family outing to celebrate a birthday. They had several options, which was wonderful since 4 out of 7 of us have gluten restrictions for health reasons. The staff was super helpful and the cupcakes were truly delicious. But heads up, they are pricey. But it's a great stop for a special treat.

Wonderful cupcakes. I especially love the top of the cakes, which are just the perfect amount of chewy. In my experience they are always moist and delicious, but they are very rich, so I don't recommend going for more than one at a time unless you've got a real sweet tooth. I also really enjoy the variety of flavors outside the traditional "chocolate" or "vanilla."

My spouse and I used Molly's Cupcakes for our wedding. We had a small traditional wedding cake, an assortment of mini cupcakes, and mini pies. How were these amazing desserts you ask? Let's just say I think we had two mini pies and two mini cupcakes leftover - they were amazing! The staff at Molly's is great to work with and they setup an a beautiful display at our venue. We would highly recommend using Molly's for your next celebration (or just need something amazing to satisfy your sweet tooth).

I popped In here with my family before dropping them off at the tap room next door. My husband and I are vegan so we assumed it would just be my family getting cupcakes. But to my surprise they actually had vegan options. I was so happy when I saw that! They only have two flavors for the cake part, chocolate or vanilla. And I think 3 frosting flavors, peanut butter, chocolate, vanilla. We got the vanilla base with chocolate frosting and it was SO good. The cake was moist and fluffy and the frosting not too sweet. They have a lot of other fancier options for non vegans like s’mores, crème brûlée etc. but I was just happy to be included in the cupcake eating. Thank you for having vegan options!

Molly’s made our wedding cake and dessert and they were such an amazing choice! The entire process was extremely easy, the tasting was so fun (I loved how everything was customizable) and the final design of the cake was exactly how we had envisioned it! Not to mention that they were extremely affordable. We had originally planned to have a 200+ wedding but due to the pandemic had to cut our numbers significantly. Molly’s were super easy to communicate with and I definitely appreciate that. Our wedding cake was peanut butter/Nutella flavored (yum!) and was so delicious and moist. We opted for a bunch of different mini-flavored cupcakes so our guests could choose their favorite flavors and honestly, they were all amazing, it’s hard to even choose my favorite. We had chocolate cupcakes with brown butter frosting, crème brulee, key lime pie, vanilla and an almond-flavored cupcake. They were even able to make a few GF cupcakes for my flower girl w/ Celiacs. I also love that they offer a free wedding cake on our 1st wedding anniversary so we won’t have to eat freezer-burned wedding cake. Can’t wait! Thanks Molly’s for making our night extra sweet!

Huge shout out to Molly's Cupcakes. Last week i got a call saying that because we got our wedding cupcakes through them, that they offer anniversary cakes free of charge! How awesome is that!? We just picked up our cakes and holy moly. This thing is huge and FREE. Our cupcakes were amazing for our wedding and now this...hands down 10 star business!! These guys are the best cupcakes out there in Des Moines. Worth every penny for your tummy. I’m usually not a great cheesecake fan but I’m a huge fan of their cherry cheesecake. I love those amazing mini cup cakes that they sell during weekends. I once happened to try out 9 flavours of minis and all were so fresh and so yummy. I wish they always had variety of minis available. Molly’s cup cakes has now become a gift that I give my friends often when I visit them and everyone loves them.

Atmosphere is great, nice unique look and feel. Yet familiar. Cupcakes were really good. We had the peanut butter Nutella and the smores. See photos. They even have a few board games and a sprinkles bar.

Absolutely amazing!! We pick a dozen of cupcakes and each one was hands down the best we've had! Not only were they moist they were flavorful. The filling was tasty and many options for frosting. These are a MUST try! One of our daughters has celiac disease and can not have gluten. They offered several gluten free options and had a special frosting just for her. She was amazed with the cupcakes as well. She too said they were the BEST! Well be back!

You come into this beautiful atmosphere, with fun music like "Good golly miss Molly" playing and it just fun. Then you take in their details like huge countertops with swings hanging from the ceiling! Eat at the counter or sit at their tables that looked a lot like old school desks with a groove for your pencils. The treats are what set them apart from any other shops I visited though. I will forever recommend the lemon and raspberry cupcake that has the sweet/tart flavor. My Mum's favorite was the crumbly pumpkin cheesecake (yum)!

Let me express myself a little, I got some cupcakes from this store, and I'm thrilled!! They're so delicious, I got them randomly because they have so many options, I didn't know the names exactly, I love the style of the store and the swings are legit!! Please stop by for a coffee and a cupcake, I will definitely go back, customer service was not that great, and I'm a little picky about that but I ignore it at the end, because if I decided to go back that means a lot!

I love sugar, so it's not difficult to make me happy with baked goods, but Molly's has the best cupcakes in the area. Most of their cupcakes have a delicious filling in the center, and they're always rotating through different flavors. Their bars and cookies are also fantastic!

I went to Molly’s cupcakes because I was having an itch for sweet cravings. I was coming from Minnesota and passed through Iowa and I just had to look for a place that sold cupcakes and I can across this place. I ordered three cupcakes, chocolate decadence, peach cobbler and crème brûlée. I’ve got to say I tried the peach cobbler first and wow I was really impressed with how all the flavors melted in my mouth. If you’re a big fan of peach I’d say this is the right pick. The crème brûlée was also delicious, I loved the caramelized top of the cupcake that gave the cupcake texture by having a bit of crunch, and the inside of the cupcake was filled with some sort of custard and combined it was just heaven. The chocolate decadence was pretty good too, my husband had that one and he loves chocolate, I tried a little of it and for me personally it was delicious but too chocolatey for my liking. But hey if you’re a chocolate lover I’d say give this one a try. All in all I give this place a 4/5, only reason it’s not a 5 is because I had trouble finding parking for this place which bummed me out a bit.

Molly’s made us a beautiful wedding and delicious cake (and several dozen mini cupcakes) for our special day! Every dessert was exactly what we wanted. Our guests could not stop making pitstops for seconds (and thirds) at the dessert table — to the point where we were getting worried we may not have any leftovers to selfishly take home! ;) This shop doesn’t have a single less-than-heavenly flavor. The planning process was a cherry on top of the ordering process. First and foremost, Molly's Cupcakes is the best bakery in Des Moines. I fell in love with Molly's a few years ago after trying it at a friend's wedding, so of course, we had to hire them for our own. From the initial phone call/tasting, the customer service has been outstanding. There were so many flavors we were interested in having, however, they helped us decide a good range of flavors suitable for all guests. Molly's went above and beyond by making sure some of our cupcakes were made separately from the others to accommodate our gluten free/vegan guests. They were able to bake and package them in a separate box, as well as still being able to display them in a pretty way. We received so many compliments about how good the cupcakes were. We enjoyed eating the few leftovers we had :) Also, we did not have to freeze our wedding cake because they will make a new one for you on your one year wedding anniversary- such a thoughtful touch. I cannot recommend Molly's Cupcakes enough! We enjoy going there very frequently as well! :)

Sorry but Scratch Cupcakery in West Des Moines is so much better, and their cupcakes are a dollar less *and* bigger. Had a lemon cupcake and a "crispy coconut" cupcake. The lemon smelled nice but had very little flavor. It tasted more like a vanilla cupcake that someone had suggested lemon to. The crispy coconut was just too much. Like it was trying to be a Girlscout Samoa cookie but got confused along the way.

Love this place because of the story behind it and because of the availability of vegan cupcakes. This is my go to place for vegan mini cupcakes for my daughter's birthday, she can take them to preschool to share with friends. (Nut free option available) They can also create beautiful unicorn cupcakes and they even have center filled vegan cookies and cream cupcakes on weekends. Delicious! They are happy to work with you to create custom cakes. Oh, and the cupcake decorating kits are great!!!

Cupcakes are always delicious! They pay a lot of attention to detail when crafting their cupcakes. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5-star because you still can't eat inside. I miss the days of sitting with your family enjoying cupcakes and playing board games there. Pre pandemic it was one of our favorite spots to go to for a treat!

Cupcakes were good, but when I asked for the gluten free then the young lady never changed her gloves. She used the same gloves she was Usain when handling the gluten cupcakes. My girlfriend has celiacs so she could not eat any of the cupcakes due to cross contamination.

Staff were great, the cupcakes were amazing. Needed a dozen cupcakes on short notice on a Sunday and I was able to stop in get the cupcakes and be back to the party all within 25 minutes. I would highly recommend the chocolate lover's dozen although they are the only ones we have gotten so far.

We had intended on using Molly's for our wedding reception cake, but unfortunately we tried them 3 times and we found that the cake was quite bland and the frosting just didn't seem right. With that being said we were always treated respectfully at the counter, and the girls that got the cakes for us were very friendly and nice to work with. One recommendation I can make is to look at your Cream Cheese frosting, something hasn't been right on all 3 occasions we have tried it.

Savory snacks are a tradition of my fiance's and mine after we've paid out Bill's each month and we know we can always trust Molly's to have fresh, delicious food. Omg! I had a birthday cake cupcake (the one with the blue frosting) My thoughts: amazing!!! The best cupcake I’ve had. Ever. The next week I had a cupcake that was like pecan pie themed: also amazing. I love the texture of the cake. The top of the cupcake has just a touch of crispness so it doesn’t get soggy from the frosting like most cupcakes. The flavor is on point, the frosting is light, whole dessert is great. I have never been so impressed with a cupcake!!!

I chose the rainbow sherbet cupcake and my friend had the peach cobbler, both are absolutely delightful! The frosting is light, fluffy and absolutely dreamy. The cake itself is moist and decadent, melts in your mouth. The filling is divine, even the garnish is mouth watering!! Easily the best cupcakes we've ever had! Highly recommend Molly's to satisfy your sweet tooth!!

A great place to meet up with friends for a late evening sweet treat, or anytime of day, really. Staff there is always patient, friendly, and helpful whether it's full or if it's just you. The cupcakes are moist and delicious! The cheesecakes are also pretty yummy. Unfortunately, have not tried any of the cookies or other treats during my half dozen visits in the last couple of months. My favorites so far are the peach cobbler and creme brulee cupcakes.

I really appreciate that they have vegan options. They always have a chocolate and vanilla vegan cupcake with chocolate, vanilla, or peanut butter icing available and it sounds like they sometimes have a weekend special vegan cupcake. The more options, the better, as far as I am concerned but I have had both the vanilla and the chocolate cupcake and they were both excellent. Highly recommend if you are looking to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Truly great cupcakes!! My daughter will tell you that I am pretty picky about cake in general and I am not much of a fan of cupcakes for the simple reason that the cake is often dry and tasteless and one must eat quantities of the frosting to get any flavor. Not so with Molly's! Their cake batter is like a moist sponge batter that has lovely flavor all on its own ( think rich, like eggs and vanilla) and perfectly supports the fillings and frostings. Yes, I said fillings! Every cupcake is filled with a core of amazingness! And it isn't frosting. It's a filling that complements the frosting. So you get three flavors in one place, which all work together to make a wonderful taste sensation! There went my diet! We tried six different cupcakes and all were just excellent! The decor in Molly's is quite original. Think industrial, plus fun, kid friendly and community gathering spot. There's a bar that goes around the front counter where you can sit on swings ( yes, fun swings!) and watch them fill and frost cupcakes. Tables, chairs and benches line the exposed brick walls of the old warehouse building and there is a stack of board games to encourage patrons to stay and play. Wonderful concept with fabulous cupcakes in exceptional flavors! Well done, Molly's! I'll be back!

Molly’s is a favorite of mine since discovering them during a visit at my bf’s in Des Moines. Every time I go, Cupcakes are on the agenda. I also have them delivered to him during special times I can’t be there. Our favorites are Creme Brûlée, French Apple and Peach. We’ve said if we ever get married, we’d have Molly’s make wedding cupcakes instead of having a traditional cake. They package them nicely and they keep well. They’re worth every penny.

So much flavor! Delightful cupcakes from Molly's were easily the highlight of my day. Enjoyed a coffee with my Smores cupcake. It would seem as if they change out the flavors. I was told I need to try a banana split one, hopefully it's there the next time I go. There also appears to be homemade ice cream.

Every time I have gone to The Iow Tap Room molly’s Is closed but this Saturday we got to try them! The store is so cute, the staff was so great, we got two cupcakes to go and ate them after our dinner at the Iowa Tap room and they were so dry. The filling and frosting and toppings were amazing but the cake was very dry. Will stop again but not too hopeful.

The vegan cupcakes here are fuggggggin amazing - I wish they'd add more of the fun flavors though! Presently, there is only chocolate or vanilla cakes, and 3 icing flavors (chocolate, vanilla and peanut butter). Don't get me wrong, they're wonderful! But I want some of the fun flavors... There are several excellent cupcake businesses in Des moines, but this one has my #1 vote. Not only are the cupcakes delicious, the small cheesecakes with your choice of toppings are my favorite. You can have chocolate syrup, carmel cherries or strawberries drizzle across the cheesecake. I opt for this 80% of the time over cupcakes. But the cup cakes are just as tasty. Creative combinations. The cupcakes were fantastic. I had the creme brulee and also tried the cookie monster and olde fashioned which each had delicious and appropriate fillings. My only complaint is that the cupcake wrapper sort of fused with one of the cakes and was a bit difficult to remove without ripping and leaving bits behind. A different type or a thicker wrapper would likely solve this, but with care removal was doable.

Cupcakes were so Yummi :) Spoke with them on the phone and she suggested we come in to pick the flavors we wanted. They all were beautiful and moist and interesting flavors. I loved the mint mashup girl scout cookie flavor they came up with for the cupcake I ate. There was an argument over who would get the Ron Benningtons' but all the flavors were awesome. One of the gentleman there just got the biggest smile on his face when I told him they were Molly cupcakes-hes a frequent flyer of their cupcakes. My son loved that extra touch for his 21st birthday, he said they were adult cupcakes. We'll be visiting there very soon.

Have you ever eaten something so incredibly glorious that you almost want to cry tears of joy? That was my sister and I's reaction to these cupcakes. Let's back up here: I have tried hundreds of cupcakes over the years, I'm talking Carlos bakery, Sprinkes, Magnolia Silos, and plenty of other in the United States and a handful in Europe. I have had some good ones but most are made out of a cake mix. Which to me just doesn't cut it. Molly's cupcakes are the pinnacle of all cupcakes. The moistest cake, the lightest meringue style buttercream and delicious fillings. You can tell Molly's cares about each aspect of the cupcake right down to the garnishes. The Rainbow sherbet, is my all time favorite (I've been to Molly's 4 times) but I don't think it's possible to go wrong. I live 3 hours away from Molly's but if you want the cupcake that will change your life, you have to make a trip to Molly's.

I cannot say enough about Molly's Cupcakes in Des Moines. I recently had placed an order with one of Molly's Cupcakes' competitors in Des Moines. This order was for a custom flavor in honor of my late father to be served at his memorial service. Somehow, the other bakery lost the order so at 3:00 p.m. the day before the service we suddenly discovered we had no refreshment! To say I was distraught is an understatement! My husband called Molly's Cupcakes and spoke with our hero, Anna. They were not only able to create a version of the flavor we wanted (lemon meringue - Dad's favorite dessert) but were also able to fill the order in less than 18 hours and opened the doors for us 30 minutes early so we could be at the service on time. All that AND the cupcakes were delicious! Thank you Molly's Cupcakes!

My husband and I took a moment out of our busy holiday schedule to try this cupcake shop. Neither of us had a cupcake but the molasses cookies I had was reminiscent of my childhood. Crunchier edge for dunking and soft center. My husband had the mini apple pie. I NEVER have apple pie out as they don't hold a candle to my dear mamas version ( and it's been more than fifteen years since I had one) but I tried his and it was so close I am buying one to take with me! It is a great atmosphere and the people working here are so well suited to this shop.
