The snowball filled donuts are a favorite for sure, if you are around the rose donuts are also amazing. If you like apple, the fritters are sure to satisfy. Donut Hut's donuts are my family's absolute favorite in the Des Moines area. The cherry and blueberry cake donuts are among our favorite, along with the apple fritters. We've never tried anything we didn't like, but even if we had, I know it would be made right because of their excellent customer service. Honestly, even if they had mediocre donuts, being greeted by Al, the owner would make the visits worth it. He greets everyone with a huge smile and treats them like a regular. When my kids come in with me, they're promptly given a free donut hole. This place is a gem. Keep it up, Al!

Decent donuts. The filled ones had little filling for the size of the donuts. The oreo on the oreo donut was like chocolate cake no crisp or cruch, it still tasted ok.

I've been coming here for about 10 years. The owner and all staff are wonderful, and the donuts are always fresh and amazing. I've never been a fan of glazed donuts, but here, they're one of my favorites! They also have amazing red velvet cake donuts, and I've recently become hooked on the most amazing apple fritters! Best donuts in the metro! We tried a little variety, and every one was so delicious. Not usually a big fan of filled donuts, but the strawberry one I got was one of the best donuts I have ever had. My son tried a few frosted donuts, and the frosting to fried dough ratio was absolutely perfect. A lot of places around here make theirs way too sweet, which is why Donut Hut will be my only go-to for donut days! Not to mention, the service was outstanding. Drop the overdone donut places, and stick to a place that knows how to do them the right way!

Fantastic donuts. Compared to Krispy Kreme, they are a bit heavier (a preference issue) and the filling is good. Well priced. The owners are local and really fun to talk with as well. Nice seating and good parking. I would definitely recommend for donuts in the area.

First time going here. Good location right off the main road. Easy to find. The staff was nice and friendly, made you feel that they likes their jobs. We got a variety of donuts. They have a large selection of donuts. Highly recommend the sprinkle cake donuts. They have a lot of different drinks to choose from which is nice.

High intense flavor with rich boldest and honest great price for early raisers and the air is clean smelling and the people honest so I can take my time! The tiger tails and coffee are divine and full filling to my taste! Gladly go top early in the morning for great tasting bread there! Highly recommend!

Pretty good for the price. Had a cherry donut and snowball bismark. Both were flavorful and tasted fresh. Girlfriend had two chocolate frosted donuts which she wasn't as keen on. Owner seems to know regulars orders and takes care of them.

Cute donut shop with lots of different choices of pastries, coffees, cappuccinos, milk, juices and a sweet shop owner that came over to our table to see how our donuts were, and when we bought four apple fritters for breakfast tomorrow he said he wanted to know our honest opinion of everything. I'm from three hours away and come every year for a girl's day and I will be back every year! Also the prices were super reasonable!!! Check this place out, you won't regret it!

The best. Who doesn't like the smell and choices of a million different donuts?! My daughter even wore her donut pajamas in. Why change right? Family friendly, seemed to be a hot spot for other parents or donut lovers. Woman was super friendly and patient, would guess her to be the owner. Great experience! I've had my fair share of donuts, but I have to say it's hard to find a great bismarck for $1 these days. You can get it here though! Lots of other delicious options that I wasn't able to try, and friendly service and great prices will bring me back.

They’ve given them a free donut before so I’m more than willing to buy a dozen :) These guys have a great heart and I love what they’ve been able to turn this place into!

These are the best donuts in the Metro, possibly in all of Iowa. Not only are the donuts delicious (any kind you're into) but the Apple Fritters are so good they will ruin all other Apple Fritters for you. No matter how far away I live I make the drive to Donut Hut. The owners are BEYOND friendly, will always refill your coffee and greet you with a smile, and you're doing good by buying local.

Have been driving past this shop for a few months now, just decided to stop in today. It was about 11:30am and the selection was still fairly good. I decided to get a glazed cinnamon roll. I was pleased by the soft but chewy texture, and the tight roll pattern kept the flavor fairly consistent throughout. The service was quick and friendly.

Hands down absolutely the very best donuts in the Des Moines area. The snowball Bismarck is so full that it's bursting. The Chop Suey is actually an apple fritter and it is very big with big chunks of Apple in it. The store is a little bit jumpy and that would normally have a negative effect on my rating but because the donuts are the best in the world I still give this place five stars. They do offer some coffee drinks which aren't very good I would recommend getting your Donuts from Donut Hut and then running over to Starbucks. Honestly I cannot stress enough these Donuts really are astronomical.

The guys there were great made the visit with the kids so enjoyable. Gave my daughter a free doughnut hole and said she needed to share with my son, he took the hole back and made like he was breaking it in half with a slight of hand he gave hers back and he got one as well.
