Absolutely Amazing! Not only was atmosphere and the vibe everything! But lets talk about the cake! It was truly Fate! The frosting, oh my goodness. It was so many things in one. It was light and airy. But strong and bold with its flavor. The cake was moist and wonderful! The design was everything I could have asked for, the eatable photos were beautiful, most people use fondant. And I was a little concerned of that because it can look messy! But seriously if you need a cake for anything or cupcakes! I recommend whole heartily to order from Fate Cakes. She was wonderful to work with quick with response. And helped work with me for what I wanted! 10/10 100/100 Help support small businesses as well!!

Fate cakes are amazing!! My granddaughter is gluten free & when we tried Fates Rice Krispies “bricks” from a local pizzeria, there was no doubt this was a must have for her birthday. She took the time to assure the ingredients used were all gluten free. The cake was such a hit a her party we had no leftovers. So we ordered another one for her actual family birthday dinner. She was so accommodating in such short notice. Also Fate cakes prices are as amazing as her cakes!! Highly recommend!!

Fate Cakes is great! I had a short turnaround time after deciding to host a friend's party with two weeks til the event. I reached out to the team via their online form, and they responded in less than 24 hours. Marie was extremely helpful. They answered all of my questions about pricing, sizing, and turnaround time. Their customer service was incredible. The finished product was better than I imagined, and the taste of those cookies were beyond amazing. I am from out of state and found Fate Cakes through a Google search. The reviews were good so I decided to reach out. My experience from that moment on was outstanding. My event was only a week out that I had hoped to get a special cake for. We were able to quickly confirm the order and exchanged pictures of the design. Arranged for payment and a pickup time. Easy easy! And wow the cake itself was exactly what I ordered and beautiful. Honestly the most moist cake ever and the icing was perfect, fluffy, plentiful and just the right amount of sweet. Highly recommend!

The Ohio State cupcakes were AMAZING!! So moist and delicious. The Buckeye one was seriously the best cupcake I’ve ever had! We got them for our son’s Buckeye-themed first birthday party, and our party guests were commenting on how good they were too. We also got a Brutus smash cake, and it was perfect!! All 3 of our kids were digging in, and it was so so cute!! Exactly what I had envisioned for his party. I would absolutely recommend Fate Cakes to anyone looking for cakes or cupcakes for an event. The store has a very welcoming and cozy vibe. As you walk in, you feel a sense of ease. Unlike most other places, I did not feel rushed to make a decision and the owner was very kind and sweet and answered all my dessert related questions with patience. The desserts are out of this world. The chef deserves recognition for these well balanced desserts. I won't spend too much time describing how great the three items I tried, but I will tell you I can't wait to go back and try everything else. Everything is fairly priced. Will definitely be returning and I most definitely recommend coming here to fulfill your sweet tooth cravings or just completing the sugar quota for the day. A very cute date spot.

Got my wife's birthday cake from here. Asked for a jurassic cake and they absolutely delivered. The design and taste were amazing and the best we have had since we moved to ohio. We plan on using them for future holiday/birthday and special occasions. P.S. Everything you see on the cake except for the Dino is edible and flavorful.

The cake and cupcakes I got were so yummy, my new favorite cake place! I got a 10in circle vanilla cake and some Buckeye cupcakes. The cupcakes were so moist and delicious - the flavors were really well balanced, the chocolate cupcake wasn’t too rich, the Buckeye garnishment was melt in your mouth good! The cake was also moist (even day 3 leftovers). I reached out via their website, they got back with me within a couple days via text which I chose on their request form, and they confirmed that was acceptable when first reaching out. I was happy they were able to get me in for a cake that weekend. I sent a few designs I saw online that I liked but I was open to their creativity and that worked out perfect, I loved what they came up with, better than I imagined! Paid through PayPal after confirming everything. Overall nothing bad to say.

I had two cakes for my wedding, one a two-tiered wedding cake (vanilla brown butter) and another small circular cake (chocolate mud flavor) just for my family, and both were absolutely delicious! I received compliments all night about how good the cakes were and I didn’t have a single slice left by the end of the night because of how much everyone enjoyed them! What a great small business! The cupcakes are fantastic but the customer service is the "icing on the cake". They actually contacted me when I sent some cupcakes as a thank you gift and forgot to leave a note. You just don't get that personal touch when you order from one of those big on-line cookie and gift basket sites. If you get a chance I highly recommend you give these folks a try.

I went for the first time while waiting for my mom to get her nails done…the vanilla and chocolate cupcakes are so delicious with the exact kind of icing that I love. There are no words that can describe how wonderful it was to order from this company. My daughter was in the hospital and when I first ordered the cake we were going to have her baby shower at the hospital. However, my granddaughter decided that she wanted to come early. I heard about this place and got their amazing chocolate chip cookies so they were the first place I went to order my son's birthday cake. It was absolutely beautifuly decorated with my son's current fave character Daniel Tiger and he loved it. The women were polite, efficient and incredibly accommodating. I always try to support local businesses and I was not disappointed in my choice of Fate Cakes. It’s not only a Columbus based business but, also women owned and run. The product was delicious and decorative. They added the perfect touch to my daughter’s bridal shower! Bought a bunch of cupcakes for a friend. Woman who works there was super nice and friendly, and it was a fun experience. The cupcakes were very attractive and the flavor combinations were nice. They weren't overly sweet. Three stars instead of five because even though they were pretty I won't be back. The frosting was based on shortening instead of butter and the cupcakes had the taste and texture of a box mix, not homemade. Chocolate flavor wasn't particularly chocolatey, and tasted more brown than chocolate. It thought it was a shame to make such lovely cupcakes but to cheap out on the cake and frosting. Looks great, flavor wasn't there. So if you're picky about delicious cakes, this place isn't for you. If you don't really care and want something pretty, I recommend this place.

Fate Cakes is fabulous; it is my bakery of choice in the greater Columbus area! In June 2020, I was looking for gourmet cupcakes that would deliver to my Ohio State University son, for his 21st birthday. I live in Chicago so had no access to local word of mouth. After carefully checking their very user-friendly website and reviews, Fate Cakes seemed to be the perfect choice and it definitely was! I ordered custom assortment of Salted Caramel, Red Velvet, Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate and Vanilla. It was impossible to pick a favorite, they are all great and I was pleased there were so many options from which to choose. My son, his flat mates and friends LOVED the cupcakes, and appreciated the special treat delivered to their apartment door, especially during the height of Covid! Fate Cakes did such a great job the first time, I placed a larger order for my son’s graduation party, in May 2021, and then again for his 22nd birthday, last week and I will definitely keep coming back! The product is delicious and well presented and delivery is flawless. In addition, Olivia, the manager, is delightful to work with, both professional and friendly. She went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. This was particularly important to me being at a distance and for such important milestones as a 21st birthday and university graduation. Family and friends are still raving about the tasty treats from Fate Cakes.

I appreciate the Covid precautions that the business has implemented - All items are individually packaged or handled and packaged by an employee and boxed right in front of you. Saturday’s are pastry days and I would highly recommend anything and everything they have available! So far I have tried: Strawberry, Oreo and pumpkin cheesecake. Buckeyes. All croissants. Cream cheese pinwheel danishes. The pecan roll and cinnamon rolls. And lastly, carrot cake! I just placed my first custom order for a banana cheesecake and I cannot wait! I have been to Fate Cakes a couple of times since the Gahanna store opened and eaten their treats for years prior to that. They have always been delicious, and the addition of a pastry chef has bumped everything up a notch. My favorite cake remains red velvet, but I've also fallen in love with the cheese danishes. Randomly saw this place while I was waiting on my taco order next door, so glad I decided to go in. The owner is super friendly and personable, she was just bringing out freshly made iced sugar cookies. I got a cookie for my daughter and a piece of lemon blueberry cake for myself. I’ve thought about the cake for the past 3 days, it was so moist and full of flavor. I’ll definitely be going back just for it. I also decided to try a slice of iced “brookie” also very good but nothing compares to the lemon blueberry. All the cupcakes looked delicious and creative, and the cakes in the case were adorable! I was so glad to see a bakery in the gahanna area that is not commercial-like and independently owned/operated. My kids love the Oreo cupcakes and they have the softest and largest cookies you will ever see. I have tried SO many bakeries in Columbus and have yet to find one that can craft a cupcake that is super moist with a great buttercream frosting at the same time . It would have been his first birthday away from home and I didn't want to miss sending him something special to let him know we missed him. Marie could not have been nicer or more reassuring that she often makes deliveries to OSU dorms. Wonderful company. I messed up the delivery date for my daughter's party when I ordered online. They were so nice about fixing my errror. We ended up deciding to deliver them to my husband's work, so they had to take them back to take the alcohol off of the cupcakes then deliver to his work. They then only charged me half price for my daughter's party which is the following week. I don't know of another business that would work with you like that when it's your error, not theirs. I would highly recommend them. My husband said the 5 dozen cupcakes were gone within 45 seconds at his work!

Ordered a custom fire truck cake month ago. The staff is really really really patient as we spent like literally an entire afternoon texting and discussing the details and they even list out choices they can do that best fit my budget. Cake is really good too my brother loved it. The price is cheap compared to others as I asked another store where they tripled the price on the same design of the cake.

I had to order last minute cupcakes for my sister's birthday, and was out of online delivery places. I called at 1:30, and they were able to delivery freshly made cupcakes that evening to her house. I live out of town, and always wonder what I order for people look like, be it flowers or cupcakes, as well as when it actually arrived. To my shock, Fate Cakes called me after they delivered them AND sent me an email with a photo of the cupcakes they delivered, with handwritten note!!
