Molly’s has been my go to cupcake place for years, so I went there first when considering cake for my wedding. They did not disappoint. Their wedding coordinator, Yaritza, was so knowledgeable and easy to work with! She even made sure we had a single gluten free cupcake for one of our guests! The cake tasting was super fun and the cupcakes and cake day of were perfection! I highly recommend working with Molly’s for your wedding or next event!

Words cannot express how much I love Molly's Cupcakes!! I had them cater my wedding and literally everything came out perfect! The communication with staff over the cake designs we wonderful and everyone was seriously so kind. We had a variety of cupcakes and a two tier cake. Everything was delicious and our guests couldn't stop raving about them even weeks after the wedding! Thank you so much for helping to make our special day even more perfect than I could have imagined! :)

Ordered a cupcake for me and my wife + a four cupcake birthday package. My wife liked her one but I thought my chocolate one was just okay 🤷‍♂️. Regarding the cupcakes in the birthday package, 2 of them unfortunately were turned during the delivery and looked a bit disappointing. I assume it's mostly the delivery guy's fault, but Molly's Cupcakes could/can get more secure containers for their delicate cupcakes.

Came here because it was in a book for must see places! So glad I came. My friends and I all ordered cupcakes. My favorite was The Ron Bennington!!! Cookie Monster was pretty good too! Cute place, great for families and children.

We had a Molly’s cake and cupcakes for our wedding and it was INCREDIBLE! ✨ As a couple who frequented Molly’s as a date spot, it was clear that we had to go with them for our wedding! Unfortunately, the person at the venue who was tasked to decorate the cake didn’t do it in time for the cake cutting part of the night 😭but it tasted SO delicious!! Our top tier of the cake was a vanilla cake topped with buttercream icing and filled with a caramel dulce filling. The bottom tier was a chocolate chip cake with buttercream icing and filled with cookie dough filling. We also had mini cupcakes that were a banana cake/brown butter icing combo and a chocolate cake/whipped icing combo. We only got to share a quick bite of cake with each other but our guest could not stop ranting and raving about how yummy it all was! 11/10 would recommend and we LOVE Molly’s Cupcakes!!

Pretty good spot. Got the Cookie Monster and the Ron something. Both were decent. The Cookie Monster left me wanting a bit more cookie dough flavor and the Ron was a bit too rich for me. Worth trying this spot tho and a good post dinner dessert spot! Good service too

WOW! Our cake was S T U N N I N G and all our guests raved about how delicious it was. Molly's was amazing to work with and really delivered on quality, good taste, and a fair price. We did the remote tasting option and they sent us a package of 6 full cupcakes with tons of frosting options to try at home. It was hard to choose!

Cannot recommend them enough for your wedding. We hired them for our wedding on 9/16/2022. They were so helpful and professional. The tasting was amazing and well put together. The cupcakes were made perfectly. Everyone loved them! People couldn’t wait to take home left overs. Amazing!

Dory, the current owner, came into my job today and we immediately began to talk as if we knew each other forever. Once she was done with her transaction, she left and came back with sample cupcakes for my team. I was so elated, I spread the word to my close friends and family. To my surprise, they also had nothing but positive things to say about her and her company. All of them have visited various locations in the past and each of them were pleased with the service and product they received. Thanks again Dory for being amazing, I really appreciate it!

Cupcakes are simply out of this world! Heavenly! Stars are 4 because of the customer service. It felt cold and transactional. Didn’t deserve the 25 percent tip for sure. Left it because I always leave tip and it was my Birthday but I’d recommend retraining them.

I got peach cobbler (highly recommend to people who like fruity, sour and fresh taste) cream brûlée (nice crunch but too sweet for my taste) and Boston cream (I liked it more last time since it had more filling and adequate amount of chocolate topping this time it was more like a death by chocolate!) The last time that I was here they had a passion fruit cupcake which was fabulous! The passion fruit cupcake had a phenomenal raspberry filling and a light fluffy passion fruit cream on top that showed me they can be more than 5 star if they want. That unique cupcake is the only reason that I’m not giving them 3 stars.The diversity was the only thing that made this place great but they are not as diverse as they used to. The price is high to just try regular cupcake.

I'm not a huge fan of frosting so cupcakes are not ever something I seek out for dessert. However, Molly's has some great frosting free options that keep me coming back for more. I especially love their Creme Brulee cupcake and their eclairs. They also have cheesecakes and seasonal flavors of cupcakes so there is always something new to try. A great assortment of teas and coffee as well. With friendly staff and ample seating this would be a good space to meet friends or get a little work done.

Absolutely delicious! I'm not really a sweet tooth but these cupcakes are awesome. There are so many different wonderful flavors, it took me forever to decide which one I wanted. I ended up getting the Samoa Girl Scouts Cookie Cupcake and the Apple Crumble Cupcake. Both were amazing!

I've been a Molly's customer since they opened many many years ago. The cupcakes are always between decent and great (mostly great); however, service is hit or miss. Today when I was picking out my cupcakes I asked for the s'more's one, it's my child's favorite. The worker told me "we don't have a s'more's cupcake. Excuse me you DO have a s'mores cupcake, then they state "oh it's seasonal" well then why'd you not just say that. "WE DON"T HAVE A S'MORE's cupcake" is different than "the S'more's cupcake isn't in season", like don't do that. Also I was excited to see a Molly's in Rosemont Mall last weekend, but they don't have the creme brulee; however, Lincoln Park does as I purchased one today, so see how that works. Secondly I asked for the Dulce De Leche cupcake, and pronounced it "dul-se de leche" because I am an American and often pronounce words with an English American accent, as English is my first language, the worker proceeds to say Dulce pronounced "Dol-che" like girl why? I am a paying customer, I'm rather educated, I didn't come for the tricks, I just came for the treats please refrain from offering language lessons, and telling customers that y'all don't carry products that you actually do carry on a rotating basis, the appropriate verbiage is to advise it's currently not on the menu.

Best cupcakes in Chicago if not the country. Sadly, I have had many cupcakes in my life from many different places in many different cities and states. Even though I may live a bit farther from Molly's Cupcakes, I will still make the jaunt there on a weekend. You have to get at least four cupcakes for yourself when you're there. Two of the same type that is your favorite, one of your second favorite, and lastly one new one you've been wanting to try. You can even stop and eat one there. The place is comfortable and inviting. Outside there are even treats for dogs. Lol. As outstanding as the cupcakes are, the employees are the true secret. They make you feel at home and like they've known you forever. I love this place. Not many other places are as inviting as Molly's.

After reading at some of the reviews, I had a different experience at Molly's Cupcakes. We went there at night around 9PM, and the place was pretty chill. The employees were friendly and helpful. Furthermore, these cupcakes are the best of the best in terms of cupcakes. The frosting isn't too heavy on sugar, and the cake itself is smooth and moist. You definitely won't be disappointed with their flavors.

Delicious! The cupcakes were delicious and the staff was very kind. The bathrooms are clean. They also offer glasses of water with your cupcakes - nice addition instead of you having to ask. I loved the peach cobbler cupcake! Highly recommend!

Surprisingly delicious (for a non cupcake lover) and pleasantly sweet. The peach cobbler was perfectly balanced and outdid my expectations. The cream was light and fluffy which complemented the spiced dough. They also have a coffee/ tea menu to accompany the cupcakes.

Really great place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cupcakes are so, so good. The peanut butter Nutella was unbelievable. Also really liked the peach cobbler. We also got a few cookies that were good, especially the oatmeal raisin!

Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is great, plenty of seating (even indoor swings!) and great service. Plus, the most important piece, delicious cupcakes. So many different cupcakes to choose from. The place itself is pretty cool and cozy. The coffee and the cupcake I had were both delicious!! They have almond milk as an alternative to add to coffee.

We haven't been back in years since moving to the suburbs, as I'm not a cupcake fanatic, but I found myself still enjoying these sweet treats. My husband, a cupcake glutton/expert loves these dense delights. The flavor options are fantastic and, if you order the traditional cupcakes, customizable with toppings. I find the whipped topping is light and refreshing, perfect to balance the sweetness of there creative desserts while my husband can't resist any of the center filled cakes. Must try the creme brulee and the peanut butter nutella.

OMG THE CREME BRULEE!!!!! It was crispy on top like a regular creme brulee and the cake was moist with cream inside and full of flavor!!!!! I'm from Houston visiting Chicago and whenever I come back you can best bet your bottom dollar I'll be back!! Talking about this place so much I think I'm going back today. Molly’s peach cobbler is one of the best, that’s why it won an award on Food Network. The crime brûlée is not that far off either! I love the Manhattan location the best, the layout and decor is much more inviting whereas the one here felt a bit more like a fast food cupcake stop. The ladies at the counter took forever to even acknowledge our presence, and came off a bit rude to say the least. If I’m ever craving a peach cobbler (5 stars) I prefer to get my fix at the Manhattan location, which also has more games!

I've come here at least a hundred times, and I'll probably come here one hundred more. I've had all of their cupcakes, and they're all insanely delicious. If it's your first time, just get whatever cupcake strikes your fancy. My personal favorite is the birthday cake (pictured), since I think it tastes the best.

Fun place with pretty darn good cupcakes, great service, clean seating area, and decent coffee/tea. Nice selection of teas, my chai latte was too sweet and tasted blah but my companion got a cortado and thought it was awesome. The cupcakes were unique without being weird and they were delicious. 2 drinks and 2 cupcakes were $16, reasonably priced👍 They also offer mini cupcakes and other alternative options for those with allergies or severe dislikes. Go to Molly's and have a cupcake and coffee...not the chai though😄

I custom-ordered a mix of Molly's classic cupcake flavors (chocolate, vanilla, carrot, red velvet, and banana) for my daughter's 2nd birthday party. We had a lollipop theme, and Drew and Becky were able to work with me on the design. We placed gemmed popsicle sticks on the sides of the cupcakes, and both children and adults were delighted with these colorful "Mollypop" treats! As I looked around, all I saw were colorful frosting-lipped smiles as my guests savored every heavenly bite of their "Mollypops" It was a huge hit! Three days later, and I'm still getting compliments from my friends. I am beyond happy with Molly's Cupcakes, their willingness to work with me on my order, and the gorgeous, delicious crowd-pleasing yumminess that is Molly's Cupcakes.

Got two vegan cupcakes for myself. They tasted fine but thought they tasted like box cake. Same with the frosting. They only had vanilla and chocolate cupcakes for vegan options. Hopefully they can get more creative with the vegan options. Nice little place and service was good.

Best cupcakes ever!!! The flavors are super creative and the presentation is amazing. Also all the ladies there are so cool and talkative, and obviously all very talented in their work— you can see the kitchen right behind the cash register and it works like a well oiled machine. Also I got such a delicious cappuccino from there! All in all the cupcakes were delicious, the restaurant was clean and very well decorated, and the people were super nice and funny. Can’t wait to go back!

Starting with the cake tasting process, we were able to easily schedule a pick up time to get cake, icing and filled cupcakes to sample. We did three other cake tastings in the city and Molly's blew all of them out of the water in terms of flavor and moisture in the cake itself aka not dry. We enjoyed a handful of the flavors but ended up deciding we wanted to do two mini-molly's centered filled cupcake flavors (creme brûlée and white chocolate raspberry) and a cutting cake for us (cake batter with white frosting and smooth edges). Wedding day we schedule a delivery window and they drop off was timely and smooth. The cupcakes were nicely placed in a cupcake box so nothing fell during transport and no icing was disturbed. The cake also came in a box and also had no issues during transport being messed up. Wedding night guests were telling us how amazing the cupcakes were and how they could not stop eating them! Here we are almost two weeks from the wedding and still hearing from family and friends asking us again who the baker was so they can order some for themselves. We would recommend Molly's to any couple and plan to be frequent visitors to the bakery for all our cupcake cravings and needs.

I stumbled across this place by accident, I was waiting for the bus and was going to Colectivo only to find them closed. A few feet down was this gem. At first glance, I will admit I thought the cupcakes were overpriced- that was until I saw the reaction my mother had when she tried them. She is pretty picky when it comes to sweets, but the cupcakes were flavorful, moist, visually appealing and overall delicious. Absolutely worth the cost when you want to treat yourself and the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. An overall great experience!

Won’t recommend this brunch at all. Ordered 24 cupcakes over the phone 2 weeks ahead of time, confirmed pick up 30 minutes before picking up, lady at the front asked 3 times if I’m sure the ordered was placed at that brunch!!! Does not treat non-white customers well! No wonder all the crew members are white women. 3 stars because love the Molly’s brand in general.

I have tried other cupcakes and none come close to Molly’s. The quality is exceptional. The cupcakes are consistently good, and the service is always friendly. You can’t go wrong with whatever your order. My daughter’s favorite is the Cookie Monster. I have many favorites: red velvet and peach cobbler, are at the top. Although sometimes I have just vanilla and it is still amazing.

I don’t know where to start!!!! We ordered Vegan cupcake for our baby shower... and these guys made some mean cupcake. It was one of the most delicious cupcakes we ever tried. The whole family loved it. I just saved couple of them for me. they test same even after almost a week. Same softness, texture and test. We are all vegetarian and we loved it. Must try cupcake in not just Chicago but United States! Thank you guys for the beautiful beautiful cupcakes.

Amazing cupcakes! A little pricey but honestly thankful they are or I'd weigh 20lbs more. Clearly quality ingredients and delicious recipes. I normally like more chocolate desserts but would strongly recommend trying their cookie dough one and either the peach cobbler or creme brulee. Don't think I'd ever buy or make a peach cobbler...but their peach cobbler cupcake I get every single time

Always hands down amazing service. They've customized icings they didn't think possible for me. They've stayed late because I couldn't pick up on time. They've spent at least 2 hours on the phone brainstorming with me over the last 5 years, of which I've gotten minis for all of my son's 5 birthdays. We had such a great experience with our wedding cake at Molly's! The cake tasting was so much fun and so good. We ordered a 9 in wedding cake along with cookie monster and Blueberry Cheesecake cupcakes! Yum! The cupcakes and cake held up during a 2 hours ride! My family and I stopped in recently because while on a long weekend vacation for my birthday. I figured I deserved a birthday treat after a long walk to and from (and all around) Navy Pier. I'll admit that I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but haven't had real sweets in months! Let me just say, I could not have been more pleased with these cupcakes. The peach cobbler won at Cupcake Wars for a reason. 😍 The birthday cake one was just oozing with delicious cake batter and the frosting was perfectly light and fluffy (and I've never been a big fan of frosting). My mom had the chocolate raspberry and all I heard from her was "ooo's" and "ahhh's." Thanks for making my birthday even more special!

I got Molly’s cupcakes on a whim for my birthday due to my regular being closed. However, walking into the store you get a nice warm welcome. I love the display they have of each cupcake. Being able to see what I’m buying helps so much. The cupcakes do have a ton of frosting/buttercream on top. The cupcakes are also very moist and have a great filling. I am not a fan of chocolate, but they had very soft and moist cupcakes. I never had créame brûlée and always wanted to. I am glad I tried it with them! Definitely my favorite. I highly recommend getting a dozen to try all their cupcakes.

I ordered from Molly's for the first time today through doordash. I ordered 2 cheesecakes and a peach cobbler cupcake. The cheesecakes were sooo delicious! The cream cheese in this is is smooth and delightful. The cherries are so yummy not too sweet. I ate the whole 5' cake in about 5 minutes, I couldn't get enough of it! The peach cobbler cupcake was super moist the whip cream was homemade light and airy and not too sweet at all. Fresh peaches inside and on top. The cake itself was moist and the cinnamon put it over the top and spectacular. I will definitely be ordering from here again. WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY!!! JUST WOW!

Great place, and nice people. LOVED the peach cobbler cupcake! My husband enjoyed the blue berry cheese cake cupcake. I was super excited to try the apple pie cupcake but when I ate my first piece I almost spit it out. They used wayyyyy to much cinnamon. Bliss in cupcake form! Seriously Molly's is the best cupcake joint in Chicago. Trust me I have tried them all, everywhere. Their peach cobbler cupcake is to die/live for. I try to not be addicted but every one I've tried is incredible. Butterscotch, key lime pie, orange, apple pie, and red velvet. They even have a cherry cheesecake that I fell for. I really love this place and I have to force myself to not indulge too much. I moved to the other side of town and struggle with not driving 8 miles for Molly's alone. They are winners of cupcake wars and it's evident in every bite.

9/15/17 was in the area and picked up a Boston cream, butterscotch and two Chocolate Decadence (recommended) cupcakes. The service from Katie was fantastic and she very patient as I took some time to decide what to get. Almost walked out with the wrong box but luckily it was solved fairly quickly (another customer was very close to me while checking out). After living in the area for about two years this place became a staple for me when I wanted something really sweet. The frosting is thick and sweet and sometimes the cupcakes have a filling that mirrors the frosting with that said, I recommend the Chocolate Decadence, White Raspberry, and Butterscotch Caramel cupcakes. I only had a taste of the latter two cupcakes as they were gifts, but the Chocolate Decadence was all mine and excellent. I went alone which was weird and as a guy kind of stands out (as one person joked) but if you got balls the cupcakes are worth it. Great customer service from the ladies (thx Angela) behind the counter and a great sense of humor. Great for all ages.

Cannot go wrong with Molly’s cupcakes. I love their peach cobbler and blueberry cheesecake. I normally don’t like fruits in my dessert but I don’t know what kind of magic they put in these cupcakes cause it’s amazing. I know they have pies but I’ve never tried them. Parking might be hard to find too but it’s definitely worth it.

I've had a lot of cupcakes. Molly's is hands-down the best. They have a great variety of flavors--from the most heavenly chocolate concoctions that literally drip with sweet goodness--to more unique flavors like peach cobbler. The cake is moist and delicious and the frosting is to die for. The shop itself is fun. They have an old schoolhouse theme and fun swings to sit on.

I absolutely adore this place! It is a great hangout place with friends. My favorite cupcake from here is the peanut butter and nutella cupcake, and the red velvet cupcake. The cupcakes here taste fresh, and rich. I have also tried D.C. Cupcakes, but Molly Cupcakes are still the best cupcakes I have tried. =) The staff here is also very friendly, and it is always great to come back and see their smiling faces.

This store will soon expand into the adjacent building space, adding much-needed capacity for cupcake production & storage...the vast majority of which are for delivery rather than eat-in.

Hard to compare. Scrumptious cupcakes--get whichever one has flavor a you like, because I haven't found a bad one. I'm partial for the brownie (not a cupcake, but also excellent) and the "cookie dough" cupcake with a tiny chocolate chip cookie on top. Service is always friendly, and usually speedy, even if there's a line. Make sure you ask for a sealed plastic container if you don't plan on downing them all right away--it'll keep them moist and delicious for even a couple of days, if you can resist that long!

The location is really cute with board games, couches, and swing-like chairs, and is a very comfortable place to grab dessert! Although it's almost always busy, it's worth the wait.

My wife and I used Molly's cupcakes for our wedding desserts. The cupcakes are delicious. They have a variety some that need to be kept cold and others that can stay out. The only rub is that if you use the Mega-cupcake for your wedding "cake", it's not that "mega". It's mostly just slightly larger. Catering fees are the same as ordering them in a small order.

I'm not a big fan of cupcakes mainly because there's too much whipped cream on top of them. Some might say that that's the whole point of a cupcake but I would disagree. I prefer moist, well baked cupcakes and Molly's delivers. Their Red Velvet cupcake is not only pretty to look at but delicious to eat. The lines are pretty long and the shop space is not huge. It's usually filled with people having their eyes glued to the display, ogling at the gorgeous cupcakes on display. If you know what you want, you can skip the crowds, order, step out and start enjoying a really well made cupcake.

I have been to sprinkles, Suite 102 and other cupcake stores (that have or haven't won cupcake wars) and this place has the best cupcakes! Seriously, it's unlike any other cupcake experience!! We walked in and could not decide which flavor to get, so we decided to get 4 cupcakes (all different flavors) to go. We really enjoyed them, some more then others. One of them was extremely dry, but I am sure there is a market for those as well. However, I have to give them 4 stars because $16 for 4 average size cupcakes seemed a bit much. But I am sure we will be in here again!

Molly's cupcakes is a great experience. There is space to sit and enjoy your cupcakes—they even have a cupcake bar with swings that sidle up to it. Their cupcakes are all filled, which is not typically my first choice, but the cakes are incredibly light and the fillings and frostings are not too overwhelming. My favorites are the creme brulee and the peach cobbler, but I have yet to meet a flavor I didn't like here.

To start off saying I'm not a huge fan of sweets may seem weird when reviewing a place primarily selling cupcakes however, that should only underline just how delicious Molly's Cupcakes truly are. On my first visit I saw that they offered a Red Velvet cupcake -- I was instantly sold. I may not love sweets but when I do eat cake, I go for the red velvet. Anyway, I was hooked. Two weeks later I bought a case of a dozen on my way to Union Station and brought it with me so my friends back home can try them too.

Who knew delicious little delights could so easily be found. I try to eat as healthy as possible but sometimes it's nice to splurge. The only drawback to Molly's is the seating is a little tight. I was very impressed by the large variety of pastries available. Their red velvet is super yummy and even better with coffee. The staff has always been friendly on the occasion I do stop in. Great spot for people watching too, since it's right on Clark Street.

I have watched cupcake wars as a fan girl of cupcakes. And this is the place that we had to stop. And we did not make a mistake stopping, It was so GOOD! And the staff were so nice even when we took like one minute to pick which cupcake we wanted. But we entered they all said told us we were welcome to look around. 1st time we came here it was good. Daughter loved her cupcake, mine was way too soggy. 2nd time we came, the cupcakes were dry and stale. I'm talking the tops were hard enough to make a sound when tapped against a hard surface. I can see why. They make them in large batches and then leave them out at room temp in an open containers. Then they had large containers of unfrosted cupcakes stacked in plain sight. Either make a limited amount or freeze and pull out to defrost when you start to run low in the case.

I am obsessed with this place. I went to Molly's once last year, before the lockdown, and I enjoyed the atmosphere, colorful decorations, and the cupcake I got. But my true obsession with them began the moment I started getting delivery from them during quarantine. I dream daily of their bakery's scents. I drool for brownies, and cookies, and themed cupcakes - oh my. And after every meal (and often even well before a meal), whenever I blink I see custom banana cupcakes with brown butter frosting and chocolate chips dancing across the insides of my eyelids. This is by-far my favorite cupcake shop in the city. I used to live down the street from Molly's and would pick up a cupcake (or a dozen) at least once a month. The staff is incredibly friendly, and always put a smile on my face. While I took my cupcakes to go the majority of the time, the inside of their shop is super cute! It has a laid-back coffee shop vibe with lots of smaller tables and benches. Every time I walked by people were sitting enjoying their coffee and cupcakes no matter what time of day. There is plenty of chairs to sit for two or four or even sit on a swing bench for one at the counter. Molly's staff are ready to help you from the numerous different flavor cupcakes, from chocolates to fruit fillings which are the best. I recommend raspberry chocolate cupcake and peanut butter filling chocolate cupcake and so much more to choose!

Not too bad for cupcakes! Since there are so many clones out there it's hard to justify spending so much money on cupcakes. Their red velvet cupcakes are deliciously moist with a tangy cream cheese frosting. It's definitely on the pricier side so can't always indulge in it. Oh and love the swing that hangs inside the shop and the board games laid out for people to just hang out on a lazy day!

They have a lot of different unique cupcakes like Boston Cream, Cookies & Cream, Creme Brulee', Mixed Berry and many more. The center-filled cupcakes (the ones I just mentioned) are $3.75, the Molly Build-Your-Own cupcakes are $2.25 and the Mini cupcakes are $1.75 are somewhere around that price range. In the past week, I've been there twice with two different groups of friends who had never been before. Both sets of friends found the stuffed cupcakes life changing. I highly recommend the choco-caramel crunch and the apple pie. The choco-caramel crunch is stuffed with caramel (delicious caramel) and topped with chocolate frosting and giant caramel. The apple pie is stuffed with apple pie filling and topped with a tiny piece of pie crust. They're open late and usually have a crowd! They keep extra stools in the corner so make sure to grab them if you need more seats for your table!

To be honest with you, if your cupcake place needs a gimmick--like some of the others--you're clearly not producing a good product. Molly's has ZERO gimmicks, just great cupcakes and awesome customer service. This is why I continue to go back. You can have a decent product and amazing customer service and you've won me for life. But if you have an amazing product AND good customer service--I'm going to spread the word. They have a good variety of cupcakes and I'm never told "we're out of that." It's the small things in food industry that I appreciate, particularly when you're talking about a niche market like cupcakes. For many, many months, I was hooked on their peanut butter and chocolate cupcake called the 'Ron Bennington'! It is an amazing concoction of happiness presented in the form of a cupcake. This is the only cupcake place I know of which lets you choose-your-own frosting for the "standard" cupcake flavors, while the specialty flavors are made-ahead. The space inside is also whimsical, in an attempt to take you back to your childhood days--where else can you sit by the bar in a swing suspended from the ceiling vs. a boring old bar stool?

I am a HUGE fan of their cupcakes. Note all their display case (not pre-ordered) cupcakes have decadent fillings. I love the decor and the energy from this little shop. They have adorable cartoon signage describing each of their cupcakes in their display cases, nostalgic toys/pieces decorating their walls, brightly colored tables (blue, orange, yellow), SWING SEATS at the coffee bar, board games to play, etc. You cannot help but walk in grinning ear-to-ear. My personal favorites are the Apple Pie (seasonal) comes with a sugared pie crust cut out on top & the Peach Cobbler. Not to say that I haven't tried the Ron Bennington (one of their biggest sellers), Peanut Butter Nutella, Birthday Cake, Cookie Monster, Creme Brulee... whoa, just about all of their staple ones, yikes! Parking can suck on Clark Street, but I have placed a phone order before and it was ready as promised. Also, you CAN order cupcakes without a filling to help save on costs for any event, say a wedding or a birthday party. They do deliver, but note they also charge a setup fee (not including stands/tiers).

We went here specifically for our wedding cupcake tasting last night. Woo buddy! We have had other tastings and Molly's does it right. 1st they don't charge you for a tasting. You only get charged if you cancel and waste their time. They gave us 2 filled cupcakes to try and their 5 non filled cupcakes with each cupcake having a different icing on each of the four corners of the cupcake. They have red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, banana and carrot. The icings were chocolate, brown butter (this crazy toffee flavored icing...so good), vanilla, buttercream and cream cheese. We picked the strawberry milkshake filled cupcake which was a vanilla cupcake with vanilla bean filling topped with strawberry buttercream and a small bit of chocolate dip. The other was a cake batter filled cupcake with vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream icing filled with raw cake batter. Needless to say we didn't finish all the full sized cupcakes. We are so excited to mix and match the icings and flavors for our big day!

I am from San Francisco and this is my 1st time in Chicago. What a beautiful city. I've tried a few top rated cupcake places in San Francisco and I must say, Molly's Cupcakes is one of the best ive ever tasted. The long line going out the door explains why. My 2 favorite were the peach cobbler @ $3.75 ea "A MUST " & the creme brulee, same price. If you live in chicago and has never been to Molly's, Shame on you.
