Reviews of Barrio Bakery

This is just a fantastic little cafe. A local gem, and you really can't get any more local than this. These folks somehow crank out a Wonka-esque variety of amazing baked goods. And the cafe itself is just charming. Warm, friendly with lots of good seating inside and out. The staff is cheerful, friendly and really efficient. Highest recommendation!
Holly Cloutier
friendly & welcoming staff (multiple times/wk before work). Also a cozy place to enjoy all the tasty options. Thank you!

Barrio is my favorite neighborhood coffee shop and bakery. The food and drinks are always incredible and the staff is incredible
Eric Poppelreiter
Come for the great coffee/caffeine and stay for the superb baked goods, deep dish pizza!, and chill hangout. Show love for an independent local biz.

It's a cute little bakery. Fairly inexpensive and fast service despite only having one employee early in the morning! I got breakfast sandwich but surprised it wasn't made to order, just heated up one from the display window. Iced coffee was great though, recommend getting it with maple flavor!
Sarah Petit
Our favorite coffee shop and bakery!! We go almost every weekend. Great coffee and the best croissants and pastries
Kelsey Brandin
Awesome neighborhood spot. Great, fresh pizza, tasty baked goods and a lowkey vibe. Only downside was getting a 40-something bottle of wine with dinner, only to drop by city market on the way home to find the same bottle had been on sale for $7 for the previous few weeks... Annoying, sure, but hardly a deal breaker. Otherwise it's a great, relaxing spot!
Davis Williams
It's usually pretty fire but recently the staff has made a few errors
Hans Pfisterer
Loved their quiche and chocolate croissant. I was a little disappointed in the coffee and the fact they did not offer milk for my drip (just creamer). Grab a drink and snack there and head out to the river!

Their baked goods are carried at Commodities Natural Market, which is where I was introduced. Hungry, I bought one of each: a cookie, a GF cookie, a croissant, a teacake, a muffin. They are probably the best-textured collection of baked goods I've ever had, if only because every one was excellent. Many bakeries specialize in one item. The texture of all of them was perfect. Not sticky, not oily, not dry, not clumpy, not fragile. Muffins don't shatter into crumbs. The cookies don't squish, but you also don't struggle to bite them. Everything seems moist but in a soft, delicate way. The flavors are subtle but noticeable, and there's enough fat that my primate brain is happy.
That said, the employee was very blah and acted like she didn't want to be there, and prices are high. I reeeally like their products, but I'll buy them elsewhere if I can.

Wish I had tried this place sooner. Coffee is brewed perfectly (not overly bitter from over-heated water like most coffee shops do) and their baked goods are meticulously well-crafted. I appreciated that they used salt on their scones to give it just enough of a flavor boost without ruining the sweet fruit lining. Wouldn't even have known it was gluten free/vegan if they hadn't labeled it.

My mom and I got a mocha roll, morning roll, a latte and chai latte and they were some of the most delicious things we’ve ever eaten. Such a cute space and great customer service. We will definitely return!
Taylor Dobbs
Friendly staff, free wifi, good coffee and better food! The lunch sandwiches are delicious. The cafe has a great feel inside and it's a wonderful place to spend some time having a small meeting or getting work done.
Jocelyn Hunt
Cute little place with great coffee and pastry options. Friendly staff.
Paul Sears
Nice local coffee shop and bakery that has fast friendly service. Cool “sugar bar” for your coffee and I’m pretty sure they have WiFi. They actually have really good pizza too. It’s nice to grab something and sit at one of their few sets out by the sidewalk in nice weather.

Stumbled upon this cute little cafe one morning after a late night. I'm not from the area and just needed to grab something quick before my drive back to Plattsburgh. Their raspberry scones!!! Perfect crunchy outside, dense yet fluffy inside AND somehow the raspberries were fresh! Baking goals were set that morning.
Matt Baillargeon
Great food, great drinks, great staff. Chai Latte is exceptional. Only downside is that it's often crowded with little or no place left to sit, but that's a testament to how popular they are, and rightly so. Five stars

Nice snap place. Good coffee. However I got a "veggie" sandwich. I got it and it only had egg and cheese. So I asked where the veggies were... They responded oh veggie meant vegitarian. I have never been to a food establishment where that was what veggie meant. I hope their veggie pizza isn't just cheese and sauce...

Usually service is great, but unfortunately I had an oddly rude staff member called Martha serve me last time, and I have been reluctant to go back. The baked goods here are so nice, coffee is good too.
Amanda Blubaugh
Always delicious! Love the atmosphere. Great place to grab a coffee and scone or hang out for hours! Get the Focaccia when available!
Conrad Osborne
Ham and Cheddar biscuits are the absolute best! Docked a star because what kind of coffee place doesn't have a caramel latte?

First off, to address past reviews: This is not a chain! They are a local bakery, and recently changed their name (to Barrio Bakery) because some folks were confused about this.
Their food is delicious (Ryan, the baker, recently won a competition that involved 20 local bakers) and the location is a cute little spot, with friendly servers
Kristen Bartle
This place rocks! Not only do they have all of the staples of a true Bakery (and do them all right!) but their Flatbread service Thurs-Sat serves as the cherry on top! After our first Flatbread experience which included several artfully created white pies with fresh arugula and in-season goodies, we couldn't help but go back the following week to get takeout (this time it included a special with bacon, leeks and goat cheese) and were again satiated. Our list of highlights of Panadero include (but are not limited to): delicious and aesthetic espresso drinks, tangy lemon-cherry tarts, foccacia on Saturdays, friendly and smiling staff, and of course the delicious and thoughtful flatbread creations. I'm sure there's many more delicacies that we've yet to discover... so needless to say, we will be back!
Mike
Great coffee spot in the morning, and a kick ass pizza place at night. Fun atmosphere, friendly people. I like the margarita pizza the most and it's by far the most affordable!

This is a neat place! Their croissants are to die for, I'd suggest you get this if you can!! I'd love to live in Binghamton and eat here more.
Bill Jenks
My latte was great. Can't comment on anything else, but it has a great Vermont vibe (said by someone that has spent 45 of their 47 years on this planet calling VT 'home')
Gretchen Schilke
If there was a 7 Daisy award for best barista Martha would get it. I’d give them 5 but their prices are a little high - all I hope is that it’s going toward Martha’s paycheck.

I loooooove the spinach cheddar biscuit!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍 …

The vanilla sugar in their black coffee is good. Bakery goods were a tad burnt. Cool vibe. Laptops allowed, hahahahahah...
