Reviews of Sofra Bakery & Cafe

The staff was really kind! The chocolate hazelnut baklava was really delicious as you can tell it didn’t make the picture. The shakshuka had good flavor as well as the sausage pita. The brown butter donut was also pretty good. Even though it is really small, I highly recommend this place!
Update: the chocolate chip cookie is so so delicious. Absolutely one of the best cookies I have tried.
Faical Rayani
The Turkish breakfast came without a pita. The flavors were too intense without a pita. We had to ask for a pita and were charged for it.
The pancakes were far too salty and undercooked.
The portions were all really small.
Positives: The staff is very kind and friendly and the iced chai is great.
Eric Hebert
An absolute delight. We had the Turkish Breakfast which was refreshing and delicious. To no surprise to anyone this isn't a Cambridge Must for nothing m believe the hype.
Atziri Rubio
My favorite cafe since I got to Boston! Everything is great every time I go. The staff is super nice and the food is amazing.
Dan Fortmann
It's so worth the wait! Just join the line then enjoy the superb preparation and original creations that give Sofra an intercontinental reputation. Better than Europe but with plastic spoons.
Kevin F
Yeaaaa just give them your money and wait in excitement for the culinary masterpieces to roll out, esp. the whipped feta, either of the shawarmas, lamb is divine!
Timothy Bucciarelli
A delicious assortment of savory and sweet Middle Eastern food prepared in approachable formats. Lots of wonderful flavors and textures to experience here. Good staff, though overwhelmed at times with how busy it can get. Be patient and be nice. They also have a few items to buy for your own kitchen (find a spice you've never heard of and bring it home!) As well as a refrigerated case for grab and go items.

I had a good quality turkeys food. Chicken salad on shelf so good. I got LADA drink is not test for me. Probably not my type. Recommend the date turmeric roll is the best staff was friendly

You can get breakfast and your lunch/brunch at this place. They have great pastries and sweets along with savory pita wraps. They also have a little grocery that sells spices, teas, and even cookbooks. The outdoor seating is a little cramped but it's also a nice place to take out. Even on a Sunday morning the wait wasn't too long. They keep things moving.
anna gough
Great 1st experience at this neighborhood gem! The service was fast and friendly. The seating is limited but the wait in line is worth the deliciously prepared menu items!
Diana Milena Lopez Avila
There are too many delicious options to choose from, plus the staff is very friendly despite being so busy. We went on a Sunday morning and it was very crowded, so you have to be prepared for a long line, but it's worth it. Everything is so good. We ordered shakshuka, turkish style breakfast, simit and turkish au lait. Everything was great!
Eric Mankin
Of course it's wonderful and it's gotten huge media attention because of its wonderfulness, so maybe I'm being a grouch. On a recent visit, the watermelon / tomato salad was really wonderful, with local tomatoes and fresh feta cheese. The lamb was good, if surprisingly bland and monotone. I mean, four stars is very good, right?

I love the food at Sofra. It does not matter what you get, the food is always amazing. Their desserts are really good as well. I did not give them five starts because it is so difficult to get your food. The whole system is a mess. If you have never been to Sofra, it’s hard to figure out how to order, where to stand to wait for your order, and good luck finding a spot for doing so during busy times! The spot is so tiny one can never find a place to sit, or even stand to wait for one’s order. Parking is also hard to come by. But the food is worth it.

The food. I can't. This place keeps giving and giving. I'll wait in your line and freez my butts off! Turkish breakfast is a symphony of flavors and textures, from fresh crisp cukes to goat cheese cubes fried to perfection. Did I tell you about that gorgeous nested egg with a sunshine of a gooey center. How do you make something so seemingly simple so exciting and life changing?! The pastries are a phenomenal blend of unique combinations, my fav is that tahini doughnut. The egg sandwich has recently changed, with addition of homemade zoug- still perfect. I want it now and always. All of it. Much love to you and the whole Trifecta.

Sofra has a good selection of American-infused Turkish breakfast and lunch options. I had their 'simit' , 'borek' and a couple other pastries, they all were tasty. They have different flavors but I like their creativity with food. If you are looking for traditional Turkish food, this is definitely not the place for it.
I cut one star just because the prices are a bit high - almost all the restaurants are nowadays a bit pricey unfortunately. Hoping to visit again to try other options in their menu.
Ryan Glick
This place is absolutely fantastic. You cannot go wrong with any choice from the menu. Any time I have a visitor in the area I make sure to bring them here. The let the wait deter you. You may need the time to decide what to eat! Go for breakfast and come back for lunch.
Clare McDermott
I enjoy Sofra. Each time I visit, however, I’m amazed they tack on a mandatory “kitchen appreciation fee.” (I think it’s 5%, even on carry out orders.) Why not simply raise the prices? The new expectation of tipping in many restaurants post-Covid is dishonest. Let the customer decide whether they would like to tip or not—especially when they’re ordering from the counter and walking out.
Noelle Litra
Highly recommend Sofra! Their ice cream, pastries, and savory foods are delicious! Their frozen labne with sesame pistachios was the best ice cream I've ever had! I check their menu regularly online to look for that ice cream but sadly I've only seen it offered once. Excellent customer service as well. My only criticism is that some things seem very overpriced for the quantity. Overall though, the food is so good it usually justifies the price and I probably make a visit to Sofra once a week.
Brian Busch
Love the food here. Great Mediterranean options. My only issue with the place is that it is too successful for its own good! Always crowded and bustling, with long lines for tables or takeout.
V Martell
Visited for brunch and shared a meze plate. It was the perfect amount for a snack (you might want to order an additional bread). The rose and almond cake was delicious!
Elina Uriaev
I have been wanting to go there for a while. I got cappuccino (tasty), apple croissant, pear bostock, delicata squash gallete. I did not love croissant, it was overly done. But the gallete and bostock were delicious. I also got a few middle eastern spices, mountain Greek tea, lamb moussaka ( was incredible) and feta dumplings (was just ok).
Nishita Sharma
Amazing Sherbet! And lamb shawarma. And shakshuka! Seating is tight but the food is amazing. They have a dedicated parking lot but it’s very often full when I’ve gone so parking can be tricky at busy times.
Bhavik Manocha
Great breakfast options, not so much of lunch. Food is pricey but I guess it comes with popularity! Love the breakfast sandwich and basil lemonade. Convenient sport but not on the weekends.
Cesar Palma
They attract crowds for a good reason, but have outgrown their small space so it always feels crammed; in winter coats and sweaters make sure to fill in all available crannies. No room to even raise my camera and take a picture.
Always a line at the register, which blocks the two way entrance door. If by yourself and want to shop from the shelves at the back, where everyones is waiting for the to go orders, good luck.
Pastries and pre-packed fare are outstanding and so is the help. But I was frazzled, overheated and irritated by the time I got my order.
Michael Ambrosio
Unique menu with amazing Mediterranean/middle east flavors. Literally everything seems worth a try. Best to go on a weekday if you can to avoid a wait. Would also recommend their related restaurants Sarma and Oleanna!
Adam Palmer
Came to Sofra on a Saturday around 11:30 AM to a short line on the inside (which moves quickly). I had heard great things about it after going to both Sarma and Oleana, its higher-end small plates sister restaurants in the Boston area. Middle Eastern cuisine is my absolute favorite so of course I had to come to Sofra, despite it being on the other side of town.
When you walk in, it is quite small and packed with other fellow lovers of Middle Eastern cuisine. The menu is all written on cardboard which adds a certain level of humility of the restaurant, despite its great reputation. To dine in, you order at the counter, take a number, and try to find a table. Though it was busy, people were considerate of others looking for tables and didn't linger too long. We were able to sit down as we were waiting for our food (which took about 5 - 10 minutes).
I was fortunate enough to come to the restaurant with my friend of Turkish descent who is familiar with many of the things on the menu so we ordered things that I wouldn't necessarily think to get (but I am glad I did):
Kougin Amman - Puff pastry filled with oozing chocolate Halva (a sesame based food, often sweet)...probably my favorite thing we got. While Halva is usually semi-solid and something you take bites of, this halva oozed out and complimented the puff pastry perfectly. Definitely get at least one of the pastries while you're here.
Morning Bun - we didn't even order it but since you are elbow to elbow with your neighbors (and people here are so friendly), our neighbors let us try a piece of their morning bun with orange blossom glaze. My Goodness! The vibrancy of the flavor and the smell. I tasted the orange more than I ever have in any pastry before. Will definitely be getting one of my own when I come back.
Asure - my friend described this as oatmeal but with chickpeas. It's filled with pistachios, dried fruit, and almonds and is so warming on a cold day. This is something I wouldn't think to get but am glad I did.
Lamb Shawarma - I am a big shawarma fan but I was actually disappointed by this one. I thought it would come grilled/sliced on a big pita with lots of veggies and sauces but it came in this little egg-roll type pastry with hummus on the side. It was tasty but the lamb was ground up and for what we paid, I would expect a larger portion.
Cheese Borek - also one of my favorites but something I wouldn't think to order. This is basically doughy squares of bread filled with cheese that you dip in more cheese (labneh, which is a white spreadable cheese).
Turkish Tea Latte - I am not a hot beverage drinker but my friend is and she said it was delicious and came in the cutest little cup. See picture for evidence.
Overall, a great brunch experience and one that I will be schlepping out to West Cambridge for when I am craving some Turkish breakfast food.
Also important to note: This restaurant also serves as a small grocery store of middle eastern goodies...definitely worth checking out if you enjoyed your meal.
Jake Chvatal
Wonderful food, baked goods and treats. Don't count on a falafel for a full meal, even though they're priced as such - portions are quite small for the cost.
Jyoti Shankar
Delightful bakery in Watertown. We tried the Cheese Borek ($10 for 3 pieces)- which tastes like buttered toast stuffed with cheese and comes warm served over Labneh and some tomato based paste. For dessert, we had walnut and cinnamon baklava ($4 for 2 pieces) which was crispy and quite good. We also had the Za'atar bread (1 for $3) which is really a chewy spongy whole wheat tiny pita dunked in Za'atar and Olive oil. Overall, everything was delicious, if a little bland. The pandemic menu online on their website is accurate. Their inner-seating is closed and there are around 3 tables and several standing spaces in the patio. We arrived 2.5 hours before they closed and they did not have any of their customary pastries that they used to serve before the pandemic from their counter.
Wali
Super cozy place! Beware that on a Friday morning at 8am, there's already a line forming outside waiting for the bakery to open.
They make the classic pastries with a twist. They are pleasantly unique and the flavours taste REALLY good. I would definitely recommend this place and go back. But beware of timing - waiting in line and waiting for your food.
(They accept credit cards here).
1) Morning Bun: probably the best I've tried. Fluffy and light. It's like monkey bread but tastes like a cinnamon bun. The outside is perfectly caramelized like a kouign-amann (but not as hard). The orange-frosting (with real orange peels) is the cherry-on-top. Not too sweet and not too overwhelming. Would definitely get it again. It's perfect when it's warmed up.
2) Olive Oil Cake: REALLY good. Super moist and flavorful. The fruits were nice but the blackberries were a little bitter. Would definitely get it again.
3) Lemon Tart: strong lemon flavour with a buttery melt-in-your-mouth crust. Simply made but excellent.
4) Earthquake Chocolate Cookie: DELICIOUS! it's fudgy like a dark chocolate brownie and the white powder compliments the chocolate. Would definitely get it again.

Where has Sofra been all my life?? Excellent service, incredible food. We ordered take-out for brunch and our favorite dish, by far, was the tahini brown butter donut. It’s a must-have. Other dishes we ordered:
- Date turmeric roll: my favorite, much like a cinnamon roll. Not for people who can’t handle sweet.
- Morning bun: like a croissant, but a million times better.
- Sausage pita: savory, nutty, somehow sweet, and bitter? Amazing.
- Shakshuka: the best shakshuka I've ever had.
- Iced chai latte: everything it should be.
- Lada’s iced tea: especially good with the pita.
Christen Yee
Amazing! I wish I’d found Sofra sooner! Highly recommend ordering for pickup so you don’t miss the limited items. The Morning Bun (my first pic) is absolutely delicious, too much frosting for me, but if you’re looking for a sweet, orange scented cinnamon bun crossover with a pull apart pastry - this is it! The second picture is of a Tahini Brown Butter Donut, light, fluffy and nutty. Stop drilling, put in your order now! You’ll thank me 😂

This place has one of the best Mediterranean pastries and food I’ve ever had. The orange blossom morning bun smell in the morning is the best.
Rebecca Hening
Amazing salep...so tasty. Really tasty food! I would give 5 stars but the place always feels very cramped and very rushed to finish, which is such a shame! We were in the other day and had literally just finished eating, it was extremely busy and another customer came over to our table and basically asked us to leave in a roundabout way...was very rude but still the food was great! We had the Turkish grits and a couple of other things to share...very tasty! Nice deli items on sale to go also. We had the seasonal labneh at Thanksgiving....literally mouthwatering...wish they sold it all the time!
William K
Absolutely loved this place! Fantastic flavors and so many stuff to choose from! Their breakfast plate thing is very tasty. It gets crowded though, and theres no table service, just first come first serve tables so be prepared. Also if you get any pastries for takeaway, make sure you put it in a toaster oven for the extra crispness.
micah eifrid
Whenever I come to Boston, I always make sure I stop here to get a taste of their current pastries. The Shakshuka is amazing and full of wonderful flavors. The only downside, I wish they wouldn't serve the bread in the Shakshuka as it gets too soggy before I can enjoy it. The Turkish Breakfast is a hit too. The yogurt is good quality and delicious by itself or with their spoon sweets. So glad I own their cookbook.
Daniela Vaccaro
Love the food but can't always see the value. Pretty expensive for what you get. My favorites here are the granola and homemade yogurt, their egg sandwich and the Turkish breakfast. All Pastries are yummy too.
Leah Klein
A must stop if visiting Boston and a great treat to the locals. Sofra has wonderful Turkish breakfast, incredible pastries (try one of the seasonal biscuits), and tasty drinks (I get the cappuccino and Red Dragon iced tea. You can enjoy a delicious lunch here or take food home from their prepared foods case.
Mari Carmen Barrios
Man, is the shakshuka good! I like getting extra bread and crick cracks (what they call their seeded crackers) to soak up all the deliciousness. No such thing as a bad Sofra pastry, but I'm quite the cinnamon roll fan. Same goes for the hot drinks and cookies: I'm a fan of the Rooibos latte and Maureos. I recommend taking a look in the wine cellar, too--they have some fabulous, if pricey, bottles.
Amir Cohn
Super tasty and unique food but keep in mind the the dishes are very small. Seating situation isn’t simple, make sure to get a table before ordering since you might find yourself without a place to eat. Also, make sure to order everything at the first time since you might have to wait 20 min just to order an extra dish. Overall great and special place for specific circumstances.
Premnath Ananthan
Friendly stuff and the service was great. Great outdoor sitting area with lots of shades.
Food was amazing definitely try the bakery (donut) and the shawarma was decent. Try the chicken shawarma.
Carlos Torres
Sofra is exceptionally tasty. Good shwarma (I prefer chicken to lamb), excellent Turkish coffee, wonderful mezza platter (but be careful - some things run out early in the afternoon). The earthquake cookies are the real hit - they’re huge, rich, moist, and beyond delicious. Take care to fill your wallet before coming, though - they are not cheap, although you are certainly getting the value for the cost. Currently serving through an ordering window outdoors, so bring an umbrella if it might rain!
Cassie Shamey
I have been to Sofra twice and it's great! The tahini brown butter donut and the cheese borek are to die for! I've been a bit disappointed with the gozleme both times. Also really delicious chai.
I only subtracted a star because the crowd and limited seating is a bit stressful. Also, the prices are a bit steep.
Andy Mockler
Everything was quite good! I had a halloumi and egg sandwich. The bun was a little dry but overall it was perfectly salty and delicious. The space is pretty small but charming.
Fernando Oliveira
Great, fresh and flavorful food. Smallish portions and the seating is pretty sparse. Get there early to avoid the long lines.
Sophy Bishop
I love Sofra Bakery. I think it's one of the best three bakeries in Boston along with Flour and Clearwater. But beyond their delicious baked goods, the mezze platter is also awesome. You really can't go wrong. A healthy alternative to a regular brunch as well, you can get tons of delicious veggies here. Have also had the great cheese borek and the sausage and grits special. The only downside is the line on weekends and somewhat confusing table service, but it's worth dealing with for the beautiful food.
Vivek Mukhatyar
Breakfast / brunch is the best in Boston. Don't miss the Shakshuka if you go there for breakfast. The quality of ingredients and the mastery of the spices is only second to Sarma in all of Boston. Their mezze sampler is also a must try.
MsNara
Great choice of food, we had the abricot tarte and the lamb flat bread and enjoyed both. The staff is really kind even though the place is so busy all the time.
Bijan Sosnowski
Sofra is well worth the wait on the corner. The array of baked goods, Mezze’s & Fresh dishes accompanied by Middle Eastern flavors & spices is a go to in Boston & Cambridge Area. This Sweet Potato Dish, might be the best iteration of a baked potato 💛 …
Kevin Daniels
The seating is limited, the lines are long, the portions are small ... This is all true, but it's totally worth it. Whether you try something sweet or savory, traditional or uncommon you'll be pleasantly surprised. Today I tried their egg sandwich with haloumi, feta butter and bacon on a slightly sweet brioche and I'm wondering why this is the first time I'm experiencing this! A perfect way to start the day.
Andrew Greenhut
Not much seating, but excellent food and kind service. The inside is pretty crowded; if you get an outside table it's quite nice.

SOFRA is a Turkish word that means a picnic, a special table preparation of food or a small square kilim rug for eating.
Sofra Bakery is the second location created by the Oleana Restaurant Group, and was established in 2008 by Executive Chef Ana Sortun, together with business partner & Executive Pastry Chef, Maura Kilpatrick. While traveling in Turkey, still deciding on the name for the bakery, Ana and Maura would ask the locals what the word “Sofra” meant to them. They were amazed at how the word instantly brought a smile to people’s faces.
Robert Jones
The staff are friendly and I enjoyed the snacks that I picked up here. As a fan of Oleana and Sarma, I wanted to try Sofra, and I wasn't disappointed.
Sami Alajaji
Good, tasty, and anthentic Mediterranean food that you won't find easily around towns. Two things are preventing it from getting 5 stars: portions are small for the asked price, and the space is so tiny and crammed that takeout is more often than not your best option.
Yash Agrawal
Sofra was an amazing experience. The food and the beverages were excellent especially the Red Chilli Chai. The Persian donuts were excellent as well. If you are adventurous, do try the rose ruhbarb pie. It is unique but amazing.
Yu-Tsun Shao
This place is a must-have every time I visit Boston. Their baklava is simply amazing!
Maryna Chernoloz
This place looks really cute and nice from outside and I always wanted to come and try something. So I was watching reviews and pictures of other people and i thought that this soup looks really tasty but when I tried it I couldn’t even eat it till the end. The taste was definitely not mine and actually my friend didn’t like the taste too.
John Ryter
Just amazing. There's a reason there's consistently a line out the door (beyond that the interior is small). Just go here, it's worth the wait.
Sil B.
Amazing, uncomplicated middle eastern-mediterranean food served with a smile. The shop itself is worth a trip, they stock a ton of interesting spices 💕 …
Cynthia Kinnan
Great food: everything I've tried here has been really good. I like that you can order spices, flours, etc. along with prepared food. (Small) parking lot makes pickup easier.
Michael Kellar
Quite possible the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had in my life. Also a great selection of pastries and other food. Go early, it gets packed.
Marie Pruessmann
A location full of spicy spirit. The people are incredibly friendly. A place where you can talk easily with other guests. Just a wonderful place!
Rachel Silverman
Consistently tasty and imaginative! I like to do pick up- they are always timely and it’s very easy. I love the dolmas and the seasonal pastries like the strawberry shortcake. Just FYI the parking lot is tiny so plan accordingly. There are ample street spots with meters.
Dhaval Kumar
Really i love this place. Food taste is awesome and the most important thing i like is the decoration on plate they serve. Must try once bcoz i know if you will go once you will go again and again 😂😂😂 …
Robert Syme
Fantastic baked goods and Turkish coffee. Small pantry with interesting flavours and cookbooks. Cosy and warm. Good vegan lunch options, not so many for breakfast, though.
Rob Mendelsohn
Great takeout breakfast and lunch. Dessert offerings also pretty good.
Prachee K
Dropped by around noon on Sunday this past weekend. There was a line; you get in the same line whether you want to order in-person or you're there to pick up an online order. You cannot currently enter the store at all; they've set up a small window that you step up to. The staff is behind plexi-glass and they were wearing masks. Customers are also required to wear masks and they have markings on the sidewalk so that you maintain distance from others while standing in line.
Wanted to pick up dessert for a small dinner (about 5-6 people). I asked for the Salted Maple Custard Pie. The lady behind the counter was nice enough to bring it out to show me as I wanted to confirm the size before buying it. As it turned out, there was only one left so I went for it. Couldn't resist getting a tahini brown butter donut for myself - that was also the last one they had left.
The pie was delicious and everybody really liked it. It had a crisp, flaky crust that's a little bit like baklava, and the salty-sweet combination of the maple custard was wonderful. They sell it by the slice too. The donut is brioche filled with tahini brown butter custard and glazed with salted caramel ganache. I couldn't really taste the nutty richness of brown butter anywhere but it was still good-quality pastry.
Overall, this is a small gem of a bakery. A little pricey, but worth it for a treat once in a while.
Adrian Anantawan
Innovative, delicious! Try the Turkish breakfast or meze platter—both show stoppers!
Varun Mitra
It's a bakery. First and foremost. You can get a plethora of middle Eastern delicacies. From Baklava to Shaksukha. Usually this place is packed on the weekends and you would have to be really proactive to grab an empty seat and would have to do a fine balancing job carrying trays full of food back to your seat.
Flavors are subtle and more suited for Western pallette.
I have tried almost everything on the menu and my personal favorite has to be Shakshuka and the lamb filafel. Robias lattee and the seasonal sorbet are pretty good as well.
Wait time is reasonable but do plan ahead and get there before noon.
Andrew Wiggin
Shakshuka eggs. Ginos breakfast sandwich. Amazing baked goods. Delicious chai. Has a following, so get there right before opening to ensure you have a seat! 🤤🤤🤤 …
Natalie Taylor
Delicious made-from-scratch pastries—don’t miss the orange blossom morning bun—and other yummy foods. Highly recommend!
Ian Genet
Great cafe in Boston! You'll have to go early to miss the rush that starts around 9:45. We ordered a Kougin Amann: a fluffy croissant-like pastry that had a caramelized sugar crust, needless to say it was amazing. The tahini donut was different from what we expected; with a creme filling and tahini glaze on top, it was more Boston-meets-Istanbul than we expected. We also got a chocolate sesame bostock, the most underwhelming of our selection, it was still good but deceiving when expecting a chocolate all the way through pastry and not a chocolate veneer on top of bready pastry. The chocolate cookies were great, with large chunks of chocolate, thick and gooey all the way through, it was a great cookie and would go great with coffee. Trying to be explorative, we ordered a Turkish coffee, not expecting an espresso glass: it was great coffee, but not what we were looking for with our pastries. The pastry that stood out the most was the orange blossom morning bun. With its sugar crust on the bottom and orange glaze on the top it was very sweet but really added to the flavor and made it a stand out. My girlfriend also ordered the egg sandwich, which she found delicious and well balanced. We will definitely come back to try more!
Michael Luu
Food was decent and fine but quite a bit expensive. I was surprised because it comes so highly rated by my friends. I was a bit let down based off the high praise.
Erika Tabur
The line is out the door for a reason! I'm never disappointed. The sides, entrees, and bakery items are always amazing
Tu Ngo
Now I understand the rave reviews. Well worth the long line and wait. The baked items are out of this world! Perfect flavor blend of ingredients, not too sweet, setting off a titillating sensation for the taste buds. Savory dishes were also excellent but not as consistent in being exceptional like the baked items.
Michael Rodriguez
Hands down my favorite local Middle Eastern breakfast / lunch spot. Menu frequently changes with seasonal specialties. The pastries are reason enough to swing by. Favorites: Maureo, Breakfast sandwich. 9/10
Deborah Sampson
Pastries, coffee and service are outstanding. Also some 'grocery' specialty items that are hard to find. Breakfast not so much; very small portions for the price. Photos on website show indoor seating but that was pre Covid. Outdoor sidewalk tables available only. Difficult small parking lot but doable with care and patience. Very little parking close by otherwise.
Reilly Keating
Yummy! Interesting and unique twists on classic middle eastern treats such as what tasted like maple syrup/cinnamon in the walnut baklava
Josh Roberts
Great coffee shop, bakery, and cafe. Lots of prepared foods for grab and go.
Amanda Wright
Sofra never disappoints! Be prepared to wait in line, but know it's worth it!
Anne Anderson
Everything is delicious!!! Excellent waitstaff. Highly recommend the earthquake cookies!
Jill Moraski
Really solid breakfast/lunch spot, though they have limited seating (outdoor only) so plan ahead for that. The morning bun is very sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, and the cardamom and orange pair well with the spices in the Turkish coffee. Sausage pita is excellent as well with a perfect spice level, though it has a strong olive flavor (so would avoid if not a big olive fan). Can't go wrong here.
Brandon Springer
Sofra is the best it’s ever been right now. Sausage pita and pistachio olive oil cake were exceptional
Mike Roth
I had the Durum and a coffee - both were great and vegetarian. Staff is also really friendly.
Alexandra Borland
Absolutely love this cozy spot! The food is always incredible.
Judy Mari
IT'S ALL GOOD. I HAD SOME GREAT TEA ATE CHICKEN SHWARMA. PHENOMENAL PASTRY
J W
great foood always!! friendly service! good coffee. nice after a walk at the cemetery. good outdoor seating
Larry Law
Absolutely love it here. Everything is delicious and the waitress is lovely.

Heard so many good things about this place
Managing Covid well by front door ordering
My pita sandwich was a bit disappointing
Thin and small
Will come back for second opinion

Absolute gem in our community! Love Sofra for fresh food and provisions. Visits here are a highlight of the week! Everything they make is consistently delicious and interesting. All of the pastries they make with their crossaint dough taste like a gift from the heavens. The NY Times only highlighted what every local already knew -
Sofra is fantastic!
Nick Gall
Customer service was not all that friendly. The pastries we ordered were only so so. And $5 for an "Orange Blossom" Lemonade that tasted like just lemonade. Definitely downhill from a few years ago.
O KH T
Great food, however, tiny portions. Also, watch out for "kitchen appreciation fee" they are squeezing into your check. That's illegal and you can deny that.
And you guys at Sofra can pay your staff living wages rather than extort your customers
WHITNEY BURDGE
I love everything about this place except that I don't have a car and they don't deliver ;) It's a little bit awkward to get to their cafe by bus. BUT, so flavorful, so inventive, and reminds me of delicious meals from distant travels. Boston needs more places like this! Please open up another location closer to downtown :) You will have a faithful following.
Renee Bastermajian
Cute little cafe and bakery. Nice menu selection of food, coffee and sweets at fair prices. Definitely give this place a try! Support #SmallBusiness

Bakery was excellent. The food is unique, Mediterranean infused, and absolutely delicious. It is worth a trip from Boston into Cambridge/Arlington for a delicious breakfast. I don’t give places five stars without strong consideration, but this place is truly excellent.
Kate Voss
4 stars for the food, but a 5th star for the incredible ginger molasses cookies. Delicious meze with hummus and babaganoush. Really tasty flavors too. Next time I'll go earlier, they were out of many of the baked goods since I got there just before closing time.
Tanu
I had been here on a Saturday afternoon. There was a huge crowd outside the place. We waited for 45 minutes before we got in.
The food taste was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. I would’nt go back and wait in line for the food again.
We had the chicken shawarma, spinach falafel, mezze platter with crick cracks, burek and carrot focasa. The food was decent and tasty but my expectations were hyped up due to the queue and other reviews.
The staff is friendly. There is very limiting seating outside the cafe and there is 10 person limit inside the cafe. Their online ordering did not work for me.

Love this place. They've been great since they opened and I think they've only gotten better. I give them 5 stars across the board, but this review specifically is about my holiday orders. I got pies for thanksgiving and morning buns for Christmas, and the experience was excellent. The treats themselves were delicious and came with storage/heating instructions on the package. I placed thanksgiving order through Siena farms csa, and Christmas through sofra's website. Always makes me a little nervous not speaking to someone directly, but everything went off without a hitch! I was even early to pick up my morning buns (sorry bakers, I used to be a baker, i get how annoying that is lol) but they were awesome, everyone was super nice and got me out the door quick. Also if you're ever stuck on what to get people for the holidays, let me just recommend getting everyone you know a morning bun.

Insanely good! Been encouraged by friends to try many dishes I wouldn't normally, for example Turkish breakfast, which was absolutely mind blowing. I always love pastries so that is the main draw for me! Great selection of teas.
Alexander A. Chaker
Sandwiches and pastries are top.
Too bad seating is limited and the place is small for the demand.
BD
A lot of the menu is a little pricey but the food is great and you won't find a similar taste anywhere else. It is pretty tight inside and they can get some pretty big lines / long waits for food. But they brought back online ordering, so if you order ahead you can just walk in and pick it up.
Bill Denney
This was our first breakfast at Sofra. It was all I hoped it would be-- wonderful.
Stavros Macrakis
Sofra's food is as excellent today as it was 10 years ago when I first gave it five stars.
But I was shocked today (December 2021) to find that they are not taking full COVID precautions. Sure, both the hard-working staff and the customers are masked, but why do they allow so many people into this tiny space at a time? Why don't they limit the indoor ordering line to, say, 5 people, and then have people wait outside for their order to be ready?
For that matter, it's a pity that they've discontinued online ordering. I'll guess that their operational systems weren't up to managing the volume, but perhaps they could improve their systems to spread out the ordering load over a longer period?
Again, I love the food here, but I'm disappointed that they aren't protecting the health of their staff and customers as aggressively as they could. Even with three shots (which I have), there are real risks.

Sofra pastries were a huge hit at an office breakfast this morning - highly recommend!!! Thank you Sofra staff, I'll be back very soon!!!

Delicious savory Mediterranean food, friendly fast service, great experience always.
delacremeG
Great service to a first time visitor, was advised a salad, which was very good and refreshing on a hot summer day.

It's called an earthquake cookie (the chocolate picture). My guess is this is because it shakes up your world. 😝. But for real I am grateful that I do not live closer to this place because I would be worried about my waistline. The lamb schwarma was extra, specifically because their pita is so thin and crispy it melts in your mouth, the chai is flavorful without being overly spicy and they add warm savory surprises to their pastries (sesame tahini golden bar). I've never been to turkey, but if it's anything like this I'm excited it's already on my bucket list.
Dino Romano
Exceptional bakery!!! I had a perfect Gallette with zucchini and goat cheese made with Maine rye. It was as close to perfect as it gets. If it were warm it would have been even more sublime. I also tried a pumpkin and jam turnover which was truly delicious, and a Syrian shortbread cookie with raspberry filling that was as good as shortbread gets. Cudos to this cafe bakery. There are SO MANY bad bakeries in the U.S.A. that a truly good one should be applauded. Bravo!!
Erika Jones
Sofras fresh cookies are delicious. They’re salted caramel Blondies are the best dessert I’ve ever eaten. When you order, think it is going to be 300x better than something from Panera or even montillios. They are unique and friggin good.
Amanda Cheng
Sofra is open for take out and has some seats for outdoor dining! I used the order ahead online and selected a time for pickup. Our food was ready on time. The babaganoush was very different from what I've tasted before, definitely a lot of eggplant but more on the chunkier side than creamy. The green bean salad was also refreshing to try for a warm summer day. Will be back to try some more of the sweet items.
Simi Hussain
Loved their Cranberry Pistachio Cake and Almond Croissant. The Chai was surprisingly good. Definitely one of the best bakeries I have been to.
Michael Dunne
Very small space, but the food is awesome. Meals and baked goods.
Grant Klafehn
I've been to 13 countries around the world and went to bakeries in every one of them. Sofra is hands-down the BEST bakery I've ever been to in my entire life. It's that good. Everything on the menu is amazing; you can never go wrong.
Max Metzger
A bit expensive but the quality is amazing. Their teas and pastries alone are worth a visit. The shwarma is also incredible.
Yiannis Karaziakos
Excellent pastries and cookies. Coffee is very good. Price is about the same as other local cafes but the offerings are unique and high quality.
Michael Curtis
Shishito pepper croissant WOW the lightest flaky pastry with perfect seasoning, the Shishito pepper and a tang of cheese. Delicious!
Lizz Pope
Pros. yummy. Love the diverse menu options. Supporting local businesses <3. Would give 5 stars for the food taste.
Cons. Too tiny for my family w/ young kids. The prices would be easier to swallow with better sized portions.
The saddest part: after taking my family home to eat, and looking forward to my dessert, it wasn't in the bag. Minus 2 stars for portion size and missed order.
Marci Kahler
Absolutely love this place! When I decided to take a trip back home to visit family, this was put on my itinerary!
Michael Goodwin
Sofra is very good, but I don't quite understand why everybody loves it so much. I mean, the ingredients are great, and the food is well prepared, and since they've updated the dining room or sitting area, it's much easier to hang out there. I still don't quite understand the fascination. I feel like you get a little ripped off here. I don't know... Maybe I'm just being salty about it. Maybe it's because I usually find the staff to be completely uninterested and far "too cool." I don't know. It's definitely worth a visit.
J Nagda
What a gem! Stopped by when visiting from out of town. Left with a bag full of pastries unlike anything we’ve had before. Each one clearly a labor of love. Don’t miss if you’re nearby; the wait will be worth it.
Kristen Grant
Made the trip over from a few cities and it was worth it! Love the Turkish Breakfast, so different, having some new options is always nice in the area. The Turkish coffee was great. There are many more menu items I will be trying. Very clean, well priced and busy busy. Little gem if you find the time to go. The only thing I would change is to make this place bigger (:
Jay Wood
Wonderfully flavorful dishes. Highly recommend the spinach falafel. The staff is extremely helpful in describing dishes we were unfamiliar with and made some great recommendations (thanks Claire and Maggie!)
The sweets are fantastic as well. Recommendations: Earthquake cookie and the Sesame Cashew Caramel.
The pumpkin jam latte is a lovely seasonal drink, and the karma cold brew is a staple. Will definitely be returning to test out the rest of the menu.
Luke Tsai
Lines are long and they are excessive with mask requirements/no eating inside (meanwhile every other cafe in the neighborhood is operating normally). But food and coffee is good - nothing to complain about there.
Sai Nikhil
One of the finest places in camberville. Absolutely recommend the tahini brown butter donuts
heather Audet
I stopped by and got some pastries and a breakfast sandwich before walking through the Mount Auburn Cemetery. It was very busy but the line to order food went fairly quick. The pastries were fantastic, and the breakfast sandwich was good. They were eaten before I got my coffee. I ordered a latte, which tasted like frothy milk. I think they forgot the rest of the ingredients. It wasn't very warm either. It took at least 20 minutes to get my latte and I had to check on it since the food arrived first.
Pamela Hallett
Well I hadn't been for several years. There is a great glass wall between the wine shop and the cafe which opens up the space nicely. The food is still fabulous especially the babaganoush! The servers are delightfully pleasant. It was crowded but due to the newer tables and chairs we got a table within a few minutes. Wonderful place still.
Catherine Cohen
Favorite cafe for drinks and a perfectly sized lunch. Can get busy but it's worth the wait! The new basil lemonade is out of this world and so is the fava bean pate. Very interesting style of pita, unexpected and still tasty.
Groucho Saidit
The staff was sensational. They were delighted to answer questions, discuss ingredients, all with great enthusiasm. They couldn't have been better. As a result, we felt welcomed. We tried a whole range of products and had a lovely experience. The raspberry danish was especially wonderful. But, really, everything was tasty and a real treat.
Ari Radcliffe-Greene
Good food, but the taste is not as excellent as their other locations.
Anh Dinh
Excellent Turkish baked goods and small dishes!
Joelle Wazen
Cute tiny middle eastern bakery. Can get crazy packed on weekends. So a pick-up was our only option. The food looked absolutely delicious. They were offering Persian spice donut bites which were awesome. We ordered sujuk pancakes which definitely offered a new experience to our taste buds but felt a bit too much on mine. Great thyme pie and egg halloumi sandwich which was on the smaller side. Their chocolate croissant was also delicious. I will surely go back on a less busy day because of all the tempting items they offer. I would recommend sharing, though, to maximize one's experience. Some items may end up being less enjoyable than others. But they're worth the adventure.
Ethan Paige
Always amazing and inspiring. Come early for brunch or late for lunch. Delicious prepared foods conveniently packaged for takeaway. Terrific variety of spices and ingredients you'll find you must add to your pantry. I have loved everything I've tried here.
Arthur Meadowcroft
The spices are amazing. Every dish is unique and the blended spice mixes only add to the adventure of getting a sampling of a bunch of different flavors that all taste amazing. Plus, the cozy room with the mash-up of chairs and the hot drinks they serve make it a great place to feel come table in winter.
Jeanie Pearson
Went there for a light lunch on a Sunday around 2pm. We didn't have wait in a line but one did form while we were there. They had safe covid procedures and they appear to have added a lot of outdoor seating (this was our first time visiting). No heat lamps though so it was a bit chilly. We really enjoyed their Za'atar bread, whipped feta, lamb shwarama, and earthquake cookies. I'm definitely planning on coming back, both for lunch again and to try some of their pastries.
Ana Ciarlo
I will admit the food here is delicious. Good quality, tasty, beautiful, but the quantity is absolutely absurb for the high price. I ordered the hummus "plate" which was not at all a hummus plate, but more a bowl of hummus with one tiny roll. After I finished the roll in one bite, I went and asked for another and they gave me one more, which was also gone in one more bite. Then there was a lot more hummus with nothing to eat it on. It was confusing. Anyway, like I said, the food was good, but I left feeling very hungry even though I had spent a lot of money.
Rachel Wolfeiler
Consistently delicious! Fresh ingredients and inventive dishes. The menu is a good balance of favorites I can count on and new seasonal food/specials, so I can always try something new. Do not leave without the beet tzatziki! I crave it all the time. The baked goods are all excellent, and the meze is great.
Sofra has great options for vegetarians and vegans, I haven't paid much attention to GF food, but much of the meze is probably gluten friendly. There are nuts in a lot of things, especially desserts, so those with severe allergies may not want to eat here.
It is very difficult to find seating, especially on weekends, when they are operating at full capacity but I always find it worth it. The staff are always helpful and friendly, even when there is a long line behind me I don't feel rushed.
Sofra also carries a variety of prepared foods and seasonings/oils/accoutrements so that you can try some new flavors in your kitchen. Highly recommend this place to everyone!
Robert Slack
Really good. Lots of great choices for any palate. Staff makes good recommendations.
Karen Wang
Great breakfast options, croissants, tartlets, shakshuka, etc. with a Mediterranean and Turkish twist.
2nd time here and tried the weekend only donuts. Believe the hype. These are the best donuts I've ever had. I am literally licking the frosting off the bakery paper.
Noa Alon
Great spot with delicious Mediterranean food. The pastries are excellent, also the falafel. Note that the humus plates are served with a small bun instead of a pita, so i would recommend ordering any other dish. But that's just me, as I'm used to Israeli humus and pitas:)

Very interesting and delicious flavors. The place gets PACKED
Nick Taylor
I've always enjoyed Sofra. The food is wonderful and authentic. I particularly love the Chicken Shwarma, but I'm writing a review for an entirely different reason. I purchased a very expensive gift card for cooking classes through Sofra as a Christmas present. Somehow, in the mayhem of the holidays, it was lost. I approached Sofra with not much hope of recouping the gift card. Their catering department located the records of the purchase, cancelled the old card and replaced it. It was handled incredibly efficiently and professionally, but more than that, it was handled with kindness and trust. Sofra is fundamentally apart of this neighborhood, the neighborhood I live in and it was so nice to feel an inherent warmth and sense of community simply in the way the whole episode was handled.
Sophia Robertson
What an amazing restaurant!! I've been coming to Sofra since it started out as a simple Turkish cafe with a couple of booths and some tasty cookies. Now, it serves all meals, along with traditional Turkish drinks and pastries (their earthquake cookies are to DIE for). There's something for everyone at Sofra...muhammara dip, basil lemonade, and egg shakshuka, to name just a few of the delicious snacks served there. The environment, as well, is quirky and fun, with booths covered in ornate cloths and outdoor seating in the shade. The lively atmosphere is as much a part of Sofra as the food. Highly recommend!!
Doug F
Wow - these guys are BUSY! I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was a hive of activity; despite this, I had the best iced herbal tea I've ever had and was served quickly and the staff were all very accommodating. Their pastries were equally delicious and everyone inside seems happy.
scott rennicks
Great place to go for breakfast. For a true experience try on a weekday morning. It can get pretty busy on the weekend. Perfect spot to relax before a day of work. Food is great. If your going to have shakaukra and you like your eggs poached a little better than really soft poached make sure you ask. They tend to undercook the eggs for my liking. Not bad but helpful to know ahead of time
Sunil Karmacharya
Excellent place for bakery's + lunch + coffee/tea. Try their Cashew Bites... Ummmmm..
cngamba ng
Excellent breakfast but very crowded and busy!
Erin Jerison
I was introduced to this place by my husband, who is from the area. We were in Boston for 6 weeks, and I think we went three times. The food is delicious (especially their chocolate chip cookies). If you were hoping to sit in a nice shady spot during the summer, good luck; seating is limited, and we almost resigned ourselves to roasting alive in the sun until a group finally left, allowing us to scoot over into a more comfortable spot. Service is fairly quick and attentive.
Urvashi B
I have been here twice and during the not so rush hours. Loved the shawarmas. Good seasoning in the lamb and chicken And not overpowering. But my favorite was the falafel and the beet tzatziki that comes with it. I also love the interiors of this cute little place. since I went at less busy times, got ample space to sit and have food. Bakery goods looked good too. Gonna try next time!
Keren G.
Exquisite pastries and tasty savory foods. Very good Turkish coffee. Prices pretty high. That is the only deterrent to buying too many pastries, which is a real danger for me when they taste this good.y favorites so far are the spinach cheese gozleme, a kind of stuffed flatbread, and the Myer lemon marmalade turnover, a deeply satisfying and pleasurable experienced. Also good: the morning bun with orange blossom icing.
Be prepared for long lines on weekends and a small space that gets extremely cramped when busy. There's no real place to stand and wait for your food when it's crowded. If you find that stressful, come on a weekday, and not during breakfast or lunch rush.
Paula Billups
It's always crowded, so plan for a bit of a wait. They have lots of delicious choices on the menu, but their morning pastries sre legendary. Nice array of gift items offered for sale. Try the morning bun with orange-blossom icing. Staff handle the crowds with unflustered cheer.
Emily Mann
The food, pastries, and coffee are all delicious! This place IS a little pricey and the portions are modest, so be aware of that before you go. Still a really good little Watertown place, though! Definitely worth a visit.
Sofía Escudero
Amazing. Tasty range of hot foods, wraps, mezze platters, pastries, and drinks. They also have plenty of wrapped goodies and a refrigerated section of food to go. It's a small space, but once the weather's nice, it looks like there are some outside options too. I've found the portions to be a bit small, so you may end up going back for seconds!
JordiKai Watanabe-Inouye
Great food and coffee. Would recommend to locals and visitors. There are ample options on the menu with vegetarian friendly options. The one thing to be cognizant of is the lack of seating. I also don't think this place takes reservations so big groups may find this place difficult to eat at.
Clayton Sims
Sofra has very good food across the board, whether you want a breakfast sandwich and coffee to go or want to sit down to Shakshuka. The space itself is lovely but unfortunately it's hard to enjoy the experience with the cramped room and uncertainty of finding a place to sit. Don't expect to be able to eat-in unless you come in at off hours or are happy to stand next to a table for 10 minutes holding your food.
Lisa Katz
The food is so delicious! They have a very creative and unique menu. On a Sunday morning it was quite busy and the place doesn't have a lot of seating though so be prepared that you might not be able to sit there. It's definitely worth it!
Tara Tai
Sofra is one of those beautiful Boston/Cambridge gems that make me think New England can be as wonderful a food destination as New York City. Serving up lovely Turkish/Lebanese/Mediterranean fare to crowded yuppie brunch crowds in West Cambridge, come here ready to have your taste buds blown apart.
1 star- ambiance. Despite the crowded interior, it's decorated charmingly with lots of enticing cookbooks, spices and oils, and ready-made foods and desserts for you to gander at while you wait your turn in line.
1 star- service. Nothing to complain about; despite crowds, the line moves decently quickly and the food comes out as fast as to be expected.
0.5 star- value. Their entrees run $8-14 for brunch/lunch and aren't massive but a fair amount of food.
1 star- taste. I don't think I've ever had a bad bite at Sofra (or at Sarma or Oleana to be honest). Everything is fresh, exciting, with amazing texture and flavor combinations. This latest visit, the twice baked strawberry pistachio croissant tasted even better than it looked (and it looks incredible) -- with flaky, crusty croissant, slightly sweet strawberries, and incredibly green and crunchy pistachios.
1.5 stars- innovation. Sofra just kills it with the interesting menu items. The brown butter donut made me feel like I was going to both heaven and hell, at the same time -- so sinful, so delicious. The sausage pita was spicy and tangy and salty, with great flavor coming through from the olives and feta butter.
Protip: come here early and if you can, run or bike here so you can really earn that dessert!
Kim Kleine
Please, please, please bring back your markouks! I've emailed the owner, begged in emails, but to no avail. My review is solely based on this sweet bacon, oniony cigar of happiness. Covid would have been tolerable if only I could have had these with me. Sniff.
RoadTrip NewEngland
Great food, love the Sultan’s Delight.
Jacob Means (Musician)
Amazing food, small space because it so amazing and it's always full. Pastries are delicious, breakfast and lunch are great and the menu changes occasionally which is really nice. The coffee and lemonade drinks are delicious as well. Can't say enough good things about this place!
Ben Jackson
This place has the most authentic Mediterranean food around. They value local produce and ingredients. They are very accessible and delicious. One of the few places around to serve Sahlep. The seating area is fairly small but with fairly quick turnover. Highly recommended!
Eugenia Valerie Clifford
Amazing middle eastern food, baked goods and coffee! Great folk who work there, friendly and welcoming! It is quite small, not much room to sit when it's busy, but it is cozy. I avoid going there at lunch time (weekend especially) because the line is out the door!
Mytsie Thevenin
First time in today.. and I will vow that it will not be my last!! This place is amazing and opens up the palate to Turkish style dining. The prices are a steal. I can't wait to try EVERYTHING on the menu and to share with all my other foodie mates.
Heverton Dutra
Great place for brunch! An amazing selection of food that its hard to find in Boston. I recommend getting there early or with a lot of extra time. The reason for it is that the place is very small, so it's hard to get a place to sit and enjoy your food.
Mahsa Kashani
We came here on a Sunday around 2PM and it was still packed! Service was quick however and if you are patient you can definitely find a place to sit.
I would recommend to anyone who wants a fresh delicious meal with a medditerranean flair.
Terri Lee
Amazing spot. Just loved the entire experience. It's a cute cafe-- a great spot to meet friends. They have an assortment of delicious homemade pastries and a mix of mediterranean spreads and dips. All the foods I tried was amazing. There's a small local wine shop attached to the bakery. A unique and delicious find.
Noah Olenchek
Very good food. Had the chicken shawarma, fiance has the sausage flatbread. Bread was light and crispy, and ingredients were delicious. The space is more than a little cramped though
Abhik Lahiri
Good food and coffee! I really like this place. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it's a very tiny place with limited seating and is always cramped on weekends. They should consider expanding to a larger space given it's popularity.
The staff is very efficient in serving fast though.
Don Perrault
This is one of my favorite cafes, I come here often.
There are so many tasty dishes: flat breads, mezzos, soups , desserts, and drinks. Along with an entire wall filled with high quality herbs, spices and condiments from the Middle East.
I go on weekends because it is crowded. I always end up striking up an interesting conversation with someone next to me.
Michelle T.
Middle Eastern fusion cuisine. They take the best of each Middle Eastern country and mix it all together to make something new and delicious. Finding a table is kind of hard since it's a small place, but you can always order to go. They even have premade meals you can take home and heat up.
Ellen Lee
I've been going to this place for years and I love it! The food is always so good. The menu doesn't change very much but the quality of the food it's always the best. The cuisine is more Mediterranean or Turkish Style. They have a mezze platter where you can choose five different sides and my husband and I are always get this. The sides change once in awhile but they're always really good. They also have a really good shakshuka here. It comes out piping-hot and you can get some bread and dip it in. It is really delicious! Also, I think that their coffee is amazing and it really reminds me of real Turkish coffee. I also enjoyed having the coffee with their yogurt parfait. The yogurt here is technically labne, which is similar to a thick Greek yogurt. I personally really enjoy it. They serve the yogurt with grano and a fruit puree. I always get this when I go here.
The pastries are very good as well. They run out quick so better to get there early so you can choose what you like. I think a Saturday or Sunday brunch here is perfect. It's just so cozy and relaxing. I definitely recommend going to Sofras at least once! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
sarah richards
I love Sofra! I sometimes stop in here for brunch or lunch on Saturdays after taking my dog to the dog park because they have a dog-friendly outdoor seating area. I haven't ever had food here that I didn't like, but my favorite is definitely the falafel. The only downside is that it can get pretty busy, which may mean that you'll wait in line for a bit or that it will be crowded inside.
Joseph Rizzitiello
Very unique but delicious Eatery.
Jenny Nehir
Delicious and beautiful food. The portions are small though. Come for a snack or treat. Not a place to go when you are hungry. The chef does really know how to use textures and flavors to create a very special food experience.
Heather Kirkconnell
I've been a regular at Sofra for over two years now. I love love love their breakfast options. The mezes for lunch are usually pretty good. I really love the cheese borek from catering and the soups.
The bathroom does not have a baby changing station, which is a disappoinment, but they do have these great fold out high chairs. My 4mo loved them.
Seating and parking is limited, but it's worth it.
Shahrzad Fadaei
Great food. Granola, Turkish breakfast and falafel were great.
Elizabeth Whiting
This Turkish bakery frequently has a line out the door, and for good reason! Their baked goods are delicious and the breakfast is delectable. I love the cheese borek and Sofra has the BEST chai that I've ever tasted. The line moves quickly and they've been known to give out samples of the Persian donut as a thank you for waiting on the weekends.
Suvi Aivio
Food and pastry is phenomenal. BUT buying just a premade anything to go takes at least 20 minutes to be put in a bag and handed to you. This should definitely be improved and would end up creating more space for customers who stay sitting at the cafe. I'd go much more often if I knew I didnt have to spend such a long time picking up pastry to go!
Lynne Fremont
Just, "yum!" Truly, have never been dissatisfied here. Tend to buy more pastry than meals, however. I love the basil lemonade. It's totally worth waiting in line early on the weekend for their specialty donut - Tahini Brown Butter all the way 😊 So much to try and always great. It's not exactly cheap, but you certainly won't feel ripped off for the quality. Finally, it's small. Plan to take out, or hover for a table; waiting in line is an experience there.
Damaris Zipperer
I cannot say enough good things about Sofra. The Turkish coffee is great, The pastries are stellar (and, as a long time baker and coffee lover, I'm particularly picky about coffee and pastries), and the savory dishes are yummy as well. The only shortcoming I see is that it is located far away from me. Distant or not, I willingly brave the 30 min drive to visit Sofra.
Alex Lin
Very good coffee! There's a variety of Turkish breakfast options such as shakshuka, as well as many types of pitas, flatbreads, unique pastries, and desserts. The pastries are well constructed and tasty. They also have jams, sweets, spices, and perishables like spiced nuts and granola for sale. There isn't a whole lot of seating available, so I wouldn't sit and work here. Overall, a very nice and unique café.
Rory O'Connor
A local spot by the great chef Anna Sortun. Mostly take out, but has a small eat in, family style area. Exquisite food, exquisitely prepared. Be prepared for long lines (always a good sign) and tight seating. Summers, there are some outside seats, but don't bet on them.
Leah Klein
Delicious pastries with a nod Turkish flavours. Amazing fresh soups and salad and great foods to go. The coffee is strong and there us always a seasonal special. Come odd hours if you want to sit.
Tirzah Marie
Our favorite cafe in Cambridge! I can't say enough good things about Sofra - we highly recommend. The only downside is the limited seating. My absolute favorite dish is the beet tzatziki, although I've never had a bad dish here. The labneh Sofra uses is on point!
Simon Sarris
Sublime food with a large array of options. Go with a friend and try lots of things. Start with the Turkish breakfast and a cold meze platter (You can pick several from their selection).
They serve Turkish coffee, which is made with finely ground beans that are settled in the bottom of the cup. It's not for everyone, but its a very recommendable experience if you like black coffee.
This is also a great place for gifts, from unique cookies to harder-to-find spices (like Aleppo pepper).
Harrison Muskat
Food is good - portions are pretty small for the price. The issue I have with Sofra is that it is almost always impossibly crowded. There's not enough seating or space for customers so if you aren't prepared to get takeaway you may be disappointed.
MLH
Great but small and usually sardine-packed Brunch / lunch spot and provisions store by the owners of Sarma, one of the best restaurants in the area. Delicious but smallish Mediterranean dishes like spinach falafel and shawarma, inventive specials, wonderful deserts ranging from cookies to cakes, special teas and coffees. Super friendly staff. There’s a patio and a few tables on the sidewalk, and about six parking spaces (street parking isn’t that difficult). They sell their own packaged spices, preserved lemons, harrisa, etc.
Kat Ravish
Had an egg poached with asparagus and yogurt. Absolutely delicious. Pastries good too, and I thought the place was cute. Only complaint is that my portion was very small for the price.
Reed Snider
Best item is the Turkish breakfast or shakshuka. Great pastries for adorable prices. There location is very small so I wouldn't bring a large party, expect to wait for a seat on the weekends, no reservations accepted.
Karen
There is a reason for the line out the door. Food is amazing!
Lindsey Nichols
Busy, tiny, cozy. Warming soups, rich moussaka, and lots of tea/coffee drinks with middle eastern flavors and herbs and spices. Great place to pick up edible gifts: spiced or candied nuts, chocolate crackle cookies, black garlic salt, zaatar and baharat, cookbooks... Awesome little neighborhood cafe if you can get a seat.
Sergio Nieto
Nice and cozy place with great food. The shakshouka and the poached egg were great, and we also had some good sweet treats. Place is small and there are no reservations though.
Kayla T
The food here is simply incredible and the staff friendly and attentive. A great brunch spot so you have an excuse to try from the breakfast and lunch menu! Highly recommend the shashuka and any of the baked goods. Finding seating can be a challenge, as it is limited but if you're not in a rush and don't mind waiting a bit, then you'll be fine. Although cafe is in the title, it's not the kind of place to camp out with your laptop to work on your memoir or you'll get angry looks from fellow customers waiting for a coveted seat.
There's also an organic wine shop connected to the bakery-what could be better?
Helen Maynard
I always think I'm going to like this place more than I do. Very noisy and crowded seating. I get the feeling that they don't really want you to sit there. I understand that they are short on space, but they have quite a bit of space allocated to a wine store that doesn't seem to get much business, and I think it would be better used for seating.
Sarah Jen
Completely addicted to this place. It’s literal bakery heaven. Everything from the chicken sarma to the carrot mezzes to the tahini donuts are amazing! It sometimes has a line but so worth it. Between this and the owners other restaurants (oleana, sarma), best food in Boston!!
C. Yang
Delicious as always with ever delightful service. There isn't a single menu item I don't love but the shakshuka and beet tatziki are my go-tos for sure.
Ella Haggin
portions were not as we expected. falafel wrap was tasty but the falafel was not crunchy. the lamb shawarma was extremely heavy
Rohit Gawli
Loved their baked goods and spinach falafel. The Dragon Iced Tea is simply mind-blowing (Must Try!). Although the Shakshuka was pretty average (again, it's just my opinion, you might find it otherwise).
Will visit again and agian! Quaint place but warm ambiance! Loved it.
Rodrigo Guerrero
a fantastic mediterranean fusión bakery with gorgeous menu options for all times of the day. do not disregard the many non pastry mebu options. amazingly courteous and accommodating staff make for a delightful experience everytime
Elizabeth Lynne
Never, EVER disappoints! (Except when they run out of the Tahini Brown Butter donuts 😅). Amazing. …
Eric Bailey
Such an incredible bakery
Mary Still
Delicious Mediterranean dishes and baked goods. A bit pricey for the portion size but it's so good it's worth it. The orange blossom buns are other-wordly
Louise DeIasi
The seating isn't comfortable, but , the food is another story. Wonderful pastries with middle eastern flavors. Great interesting breakfasts. Wonderful mezze. They are now pickling/perserving vegetables that make great gifts or appetizers.
Cally Perry
The food is great. This is a great place to get Middle Eastern food and amazing baked goods, but I especially appreciate the spices, herbs and mixes.
Angela Kou
I love Sofra! They have an amazing spinach falafel sandwich and some really interesting mediterranean baked goods (liberal use of sesame seeds in many delicious ways). Their mezze plate is also great for trying a few different things.
Jess Peck
Sofra is one of my favorite places in Boston. The morning buns are to die for. There's often a line and no room to sit, so it's best to take your food to go. I also love the tumeric lattes.
Ben Tepfer
All of the food and pastries are great. They also have a great selection of middle eastern spices and ingredients.
Ryan C. Van Wyk
Fantastic chai latte and delicious pastries! We purchased several items to sample and everything was fantastic! Definitely worth the wait!
A S
Another favorite local cafe! It's right across the street from Mount Auburn Cemetery. Which means it's a lovely place to come rest your feet, grab a coffee, especially after spending a delightful afternoon admiring the beautiful cemetery grounds.
I've tried a couple of food items here but wasn't too impressed. They were lacking flavor and portions were on the smaller side. But they definitely make up for it in their coffee and baked goods! Every time I come here, the array of baked goods is different. And each one looks so appealing. And they're not your standard bakery pastries either. There's a Middle Eastern influence which you can see and notice in the flavors. The Sfeng (?) which is similar to a glazed donut, and the Persian donut, slightly drier version of a donut, are really tasty.
They also make a lot of specialty coffee drinks. And they're house-made, yay! No fake syrups, only real jams, haha. During Fall, they have a pumpkin jam latte which is yummy.
Other points to note: You order at the counter, get a number and they bring your food/coffee to you. Space is tight. It's a tiny cafe, so if you're visiting, be mindful that others might like a seat too especially during the weekends. There are a few parking spaces for customers behind the cafe.
Cynthia Cox (Cyn)
The food is worth 5 stars - both savory and sweet. However, it is very cozy inside and seating can be a problem during prime times. In the nice weather, there is plenty of al fresco dining. This small gem of an eatery is great for snacks. It is owned by the chef at Oleana in Inman Square.
Vishnu Sharavan Nag
The baklava is to die for! And the falafel was so authentic!
Hasan Aygun
Good tastes with cakes, spinach gözleme and delicious meze. Staff was very nice and prices are not excessive. Parking os linited, but ot is not difficult to find street parking spots. The only problem or disappointment was the drinks, mainly Turkish tea and coffee. These drinks are sacrosankt in Turkey and Greece or eastern Mediterranean as they have to be prepared and served in a distinct fashion. The tea comes out of a thermos and when brewed tea waits too long it turns into a tepid tar. The way the coffee was served would be a shock to all the coffee lovers from Lebanon to Serbia. Even espresso was served in a Turkish tea cup. With that solved, Sofra would easily merit 5 starts.
Momoko Shimizu
The best food around! I love this place and recommended to friends numerous times! Minus one star because of the small portion, otherwise the good place to get a snack for take-away or eat (quickly) inside.
Matthias Wagner
I am a pastry and dessert person and Sofra is tops. The pastries are absolutely fantastic - specifically the Umm-Ali and Persian-spice donut. The espresso drinks are OK (compared to really good spots) and the seating is awkward and limited.
Vicki Yuen
One of my favorite food places, everything in here is absolutely delectable. Bright Mediterranean bakery with sweet and savory options. Definitely get the shakshuka if you make it there for breakfast: perfectly poached egg in a dreamy tomato base served with puffed up pita bread to sop up all the flavors. Also great: the mezes (my favorite is the muhammara, perfect with crick-cracks) zucchini fritters, moussaka, pretty much everything on the menu. Their sweets are to die for: chocolate earthquake cookies are chewy inside with a crispy outer shell, the almond-rose cake and kunefe are light yet decadent. The only downsides are there's not much seating and expect a wait during lunchtime, especially on the weekends. But worth it, every time!
caitlin
Yum Yum Yum. I cannot say enough good things about this place. You must must get the chocolate hazelnut bakalva and all their other baked goods are delicious as well. I love that you can get the spinach falafel that they serve at Oleana. I love what Sortun does with spice. A little pricey and can get very crowded with limited seating so difficult with big groups but so worth it! Also servings a little small
Eli Cragin
Pure, incredibly unique deliciousness! Every time!
Dion Kenney
Ohmigawd, everything is phenomenal here. Truly a "destination" restaurant. The menu changes frequently, and between the boisterous crowd, the speed of the ordering line, and the general uniqueness (hence unfamiliarity) of the dishes, it is like a entering a foreign, exotic wonderland.
Teng Mao
Amazing selection of Middle Eastern food: pastries, Sharmas, flatbreads, shakshuka, soups, etc. Coffees, teas, lattes, and chai with interesting flavor combinations. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. There's usually a long line, but it moves quickly. There's some seating inside, but not enough for the amount of business that frequent Sofra; expect to hover awhile for a spot to sit. Highly recommended!
Rachel Leah Blumenthal
The lamb shawarma is manna from heaven. Everything else is fantastic as well. Go at an odd time to beat the lunch rush; it gets hectic, and the small outside porch gets packed. Once you finally make it to the counter to order, you'll have to hover awhile until your food is ready. It's worth the wait.
Erica Driver
The most delicious, freshest, vibrant flavors you’ll ever eat. While you’re there, pick up a copy of one of their cookbooks and start enjoying Sofra dishes at home.
Audrey Shafran
That neighborhood, including the Coolidge Square area, has several stores selling Greek-Armenian-Middle Eastern food. Sofra has some higher quality, higher priced dishes than the others. We do take out. We frequent Sofra, Sevan, and Arax when we're in the area.
Sam Melnick
'm not sure whether this is a 3 or 4, but I feel like sometimes reviews inflates things, so I fell it is my duty to bring the average down a bit.
In a vacuum I really like Sofra, food is good, drinks are fresh and tasty and I can walk to it! However, it's really expensive and the amount of food you get is pretty small. $9 for a breakfast sandwich that's like 4 bites.
Overall its a great treat if you want to grab a coffee, tea, or homemade fruit drink and a snack, but my wallet can't handle it very often. If your's can, more power to you and I highly suggest going to Sofra.
Eyal
Sofra is amazing! Some of the best pastries and Middle Eastern food you'll find. A gourmet touch to everything. The food isn't the fastest to prepare and you may have to fight for a seat.
Quentin Fennessy
We had a very tasty breakfast. I had the Turkish-style breakfast, including a soft-boiled egg, cucumber, tomato, olives, feta, yogurt & spoon sweets. The Turkish coffee was strong, and thick.
A H
I love their food selections. It is different from European bakery, which makes this bakery so special! Only complaint is they are so popular and crowded ALL THE TIME!!! I hope they will expand their business space!
Nancy Zazza
Good. Hearty salads, tasty-looking premade sandwiches. Handy for quick nosh, with outside dining, too. New location near old one, off H.Sq. long-time food purveyor.
Jamaal Bacchus
This should be your priority in the Boston area. Had a breakfast sandwich, and almost every pastry and it was amazing
Peter Michaud
Some of the highest-quality pastries I’ve had, and full of flavors I haven’t seen elsewhere in Boston.
Erica Rizzotto
I went to Sofra for an afternoon snack and had a hard time deciding what to get. I settled on the hummus platter and also an iced coffee, along with one of their famous earthquake (chocolate) cookies. Everything was excellent!
Katura Huckabay
Amazing pastry!! Everything was spot on with the balance of spices.
Phoebe Russell
The cuisine is so awesome at Sofra. It feels like the chef really cares about every meal and how much love is put into each recipe feel authentic. In a world of cuisine that often resembles each other, Sofra stands apart.
Nadim Farah
It's an OK place if you're looking for an average genrefied collage of middle eastern, Greek, and Turkish food.
No clear specialization, Lebanese items not authentic (falafel at lunch only isn't a Lebanese thing, extra bitter zaatar due to using wrong mix of herbs probably substituting thyme for oregano, and their most famous sweet item is an American rock cookie)
Stay clear if you want something authentic.
Harris Kirk
Absolutely delicious and distinctively spiced cookies. Amazing food. Awesome breakfast croissants. What else is there to say? Worth the trip from anywhere in eastern Massachussetts
Anne F
Sofra is not what it once was. It is almost always overcrowded, to the point where it is almost impossible to feel relaxed drinking your Turkish coffee. The quality of the food is generally pretty high, and the baked goods are absolutely delicious, but the atmosphere is claustrophobic and uncomfortable. Hope they expand.
Deb Duarte-Calorio
One of the best!
SOFRA IS A TURKISH WORD THAT MEANS A PICNIC, A SPECIAL TABLE PREPARATION OF FOOD OR A SMALL SQUARE KILIM RUG FOR EATING. Everything here taste great. Really good food. The staff are very polite and efficient.. Price is reasonable. Parking spot available. You can sit in it out.
Dan Jahnke
GO HERE FOR BREAKFAST!! You may not get a seat, but be patient, the food and coffee is worth it. The food is not your ordinary breakfast (Mediterranean), but will be worth every bite. This place is a Boston classic, , I will definitely be going here often.
Misha Peterson
Wonderful food and coffees/teas! Raspberry rose turnovers!!! I'm hungry just thinking about Sofra! I wish they were open until at least 7 on Monday nights, and that I lived a tad closer!
Nicole Wood
This is the best food ever. I took my boyfriend here for breakfast and he begged me to come back here for lunch. Sofra is a beautiful middle Eastern fair cafe esque place. My favorite is their ice chai, I never go anywhere else for it
E Sulakshana
Sofra is a wonderful cafe. The falafel is my favorite sandwich, and the morning bun is the best pastry. You should try the chai latte, because it is a perfect balance of sweet and spice. It is write on the 71/73 bus route!
Sunessa “Sunny” Schettler
Easy sidewalk ordering and curbside pickup available during covid-19 times.
I do look forward to eating in and sharing brunches with friends there again. Someday.....
Yann Metz
I love this place, food is awesome but the service is none existing.
I called 48h in advance as indicated on the website for pre-ordering breakfast for 10 people. They refused to take my order, therefore I showed up in the morning before opening at 8am and asked to buy for 250 usd of stuff. We forgot one little item and they asked us to wait in line again for 20 mins, absolutely not trying to help.
PS: by refusing to take our order, it created a long wait for other customers.
PS2: they sold us many meze in small boxes without mentioning that it would not come with Pita or Bread...
Vyrna Napoli
I didn't get name but the girl that took my money for a choc croisant at 1:30 was so pleasant and has a great SMILE and terrific customer relations..she really shows she loves her job.. I also am drinking the sulfate free wine I bought from Richard. He was so gracious abd helpful to me
I'm glad I stopped in for my 1st time
Steve Potter
Eat Shakshuka (poached eggs in tomato-curry sauce) and you will understand why we love Sofra so much. Also Turkish coffee. Also pastries with pistachio. If the sunny indoor space is crowded, move to the sunny outdoor seats! This is a gem.
Kathy Ushakov
It looks like we found a gem! The coffee is delicious, the atmosphere is great and there is a selection of very tasty breakfast dishes! Also they have a high awareness to customer service!
Mari
Do get:
Peach pastry
Borek
Don’t get:
Zucchini pancakes
Strawberry drink
Tesneem Elewa
Ordered a box of assorted pastries everything was beyond delicious! The cashew bar and the tahini Blondie were my favorite
Evan Martinez
Incredibly good. The shakshuka was so perfectly spiced, I also got the biscuit box which had some of the best biscuits and jam I've ever had.
Arthur Safira
Great food. It's expensive, but the fresh ingredients and bright flavors really make it worth it. I loved their falafel and fried eggplant and hummus.
Cheryl LaBreck
Love this place! Everything is so unique and different & yummy! My favorite sweet is the Earthquake cookie! They were nice enough to share the recipe with me, :)
Michael Pessin
Dynamite food !
Awesome 👌 service
Anyone who goes knows the deal as do I but if you haven't been since COVID they've got it worked out pretty cool.
I was VERY IMPRESSED
Joe M
The food is always excellent and in a culinary tradition nor frequently seen in the States. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food provided. It's all colorful and magnificent.
Cable Dill
The food was really well made across the board. Servings were a little on the small side, but the cold meze, chicken schwarma, and spinach falafel were all fantastic, and the desserts were also great.
Bobby McElver
Hands down one of the best spots to eat in all of Boston. Friends of mine bought their house based on DTS (distance to Sofra). They now have a cookbook too!
Elizabeth Hill
I hate to give this place more positive press: it is already too well loved. Dont go here for an intimate conversation while you nosh on the orange blossom morning buns and spinach falafel and nurse your newly concocted favorite beverage. All it needs is elbow room.
Derek Lee
Love their cheese borek and spinach falafel. They don't have much seating and have a small parking lot so make sure you get there earlier for lunch!
alex sludds
Amazing food. Same chef as Oleanna. I strongly recommend going for brunch
K B
I’ve only been once so far, but the rhubarb rose dessert was A++++ superb. I also really enjoyed the sesame caramel iced latte.
Kristy Hanstad
My favorite cafe of all time. Simply the best in all categories: coffee, pastties, savory, selection. The food is beautiful and delicious. If you haven't tried this gem, it will change your life .
Eve Hu
Egg sandwich = haloumi cheese, feta butter ($6.50) + bacon ($7) -- tasted good but portion was small for the $. Shakshuka ($7) and apricot almond bostock ($3) were both great.
Andreas Apostolopoulos
Really unique pastries!! Delicious spins on what you know and love, with subtle spices that tickle the tongue!
Maria Hy
In town visiting and was recommended this delicious place. The only thing you need to know is just go. You will be so glad you did. I loved it so much I am going again tomorrow!
C.W. CHUCK Self

I’ve been going to Sofra since I was very little and it has been a joy to visit their friendly, helpful staff and cozy environment. The food here though is fine but not great and they are often changing items on their menu.
Boris Efroimskiy
An excellent place for brunch although expect to stand in line during Sat/Sun morning. We enjoyed our shakshuka, poached eggs and a huge cheese burek
Caroline Kingsley
I’ve never had something from Sofra I didn’t rave about. They have such a creative menu and seem to nail it every time...
Mai Le
Small, friendly restaurant that produces good comfort ethnic food. Love the take out fridge that's filled with yummy sides. Highly recommend.
Daniel Gorbunov
Wow this place is great. Lamb Shawarma was delicious but pretty small honestly. A little pricey but worth it, the food is heavenly
E. ARTI Wulandari
Cute little corner cafe! Really good coffee and bakeries! Make sure to visit the beautiful & serene Mt Auburn Cemetery as well.
Ravi Govindan
Cute little restaurant with a warm touch of friendliness. Food is tasty and they have good vegetarian choices. Enjoyed eating here
Nicholas Martin
Excellent baked foods but I got this fermented vegetable juice which was just awful and I am skeptical anyone in the world drinks an entire cup of it. Very crowded.
Worth a visit.
Noah Hilbert
Baked good are amazing, I'll often add to my order last minute because I see what they have once I'm there and it looks so delicious!
Melissa Byun
Great coffee, get the surprise donut if you're visiting on the weekend. There isn't a lot of seating and it's always packed, so takeout might be a better option.
Sheila Ehrens
Amazing original sweets and prepared food. Staff is always helpful!
İlyas Sır
We ordered Sahlep with big hopes however the sahlep served had nothing similar with the real sahlep we know from Turkey. Other products may be OK but I would not go for Sahlep again. Btw the customer relations are great.
Ateen Patel
Don't miss out on the apricot almond bostock, it's so tasty. The shakshuka from the breakfast menu was also really nice
Em Hooper
I love Sofia! They have a great selection of vegetarian items on the menu, and they have wonderful olive oil cakes.
Kristen Dority
Everything here is just so good. My go to place if I need a little pick me up. Perfect coffee. Love their pita bread.

This place is amazing! Well worth the wait. Their Turkish coffee and OMG the pastries were delicious
Nicolas Vachicouras
Great food and very original! The service is quick and friendly. However the place is very small and it is difficult to find a good seating.

Popular bakery cafe with well chosen middle eastern menu. Always a line outside. Food is fresh.
Marcos Farias
This place brings you a joy to eat there. Everything is so good, from the pastry to the tea, Breakfast also is amazing.

Me: "I don't really like mediterranean food."
Friends: "But you haven't been to Sofra."
-Takes me to Sofra-
Me: "I don't love mediterranean food, but Sofra is f*king amazing."
Kristina Bayne
One of my favorite places for lunch. Middle Eastern foods, excellent coffees and teas, and canned foods. I stop here before I head over to mount auburn cemetery for a walk.
Will Tassmer
My mom loves the food. She goes every week, and we are never disappointed with there food.
garrett tedeman
Besides the usuals, don't forget to try a few snacks w/ your afternoon pick-me-up. ...they have a fascinating variety on the menu 👍😊 …
hilary
Shakshuka was delicious!
Pamela Neave
The food is amazing here, and the service is always great. Just wish they'd open up another location with a bigger seating area!
LMF
First visit, very friendly staff and delicious food! Pastries especially impressive
Doug Ferguson
Woah. This spot is so good. The food combos going on and quality of food is beyond amazing. Very jealous of people that are local to that spot. I only get to go when I visit.

Casey Donaghue
I come here often and Cannot say enough good things about this place! The people working there are always so inviting and the food is amazing!
Jeyy Rrrr
The food here never disappoints. If you're into Middle Eastern food and desserts, this is the place. Even if you're not into that kind of food, this is still THE place and you're missing out.
Max Zoghbi
Everything here is unbelievable but you have to try the cashew caramel square, it is simply divine.
fardowsa M.
Friendly staff fresh food, their food tastes very different compare to all the other middle eastern food I have had before... can use more middle eastern spices to give it more flavor.
Andrey Ryazanov
Great breakfast and baked goods!
Stu Sutherland
This place is a must stop on every (we mean EVERY) trip to the Boston area. It adds an hour to our NJ-Bos trip, but so worth it... rack us up some mezze to go!
Maggie Gaar
Everything is amazing. Been coming here for years and have never regretted any food or drink choices. Their chai is the BEST.
Harleigh Zheng
Deliciousness courtesy of Sofra, backyard and friends not included
Shay Curran
Great service, great chef. If you are an entitled huron village old money cambridge karen, please patronize sparingly for the good of the staff.
Jess D
Best homemade iced chai anywhere. Amazing drinks, baked goods and food. Usually very busy and limited seating.
Priyank Jain
Small place, tight seating, good food, reasonably priced, private parking available. Try the muhammara and lebni- these were our favorites!
Smriti
Unique food and delicious! Try the small "snacks" in the cooler, in addition to the menu. Excellent to take home for later!
Ashley McDermott
I go here every day for a drink and a pastry. Food is great, the staff is great, but the wait is often long.
Beth Baniszewski
Delicious baked goods, sandwiches, beverages, and more. Lots of floral flavors and other less-common things. Reasonable prices.
Mark Towler
Spectacular food with flavors you won't find anywhere else. Tight quarters, but worth the wait for a spot to sit.
Alejandra Peña
Amazing bakery and breakfasts. The best pastries I've had in Boston.
Christiano Demacedo
Dinning here is an experience!
Madhu Somashekar
Gorgeous ambience, food quality and depth. But way too crowded and difficult to make an experience of it. Hence I dropped the fifth star.
Mal Cole
Between breakfast and lunch times are nuts. You cannot be sure of getting a seat. Try to go at an off time and really settle in to the yummy treats!
Andre Behrens
This place is packed like an NYC restaurant, and it's no accident. I recommend the Turkish breakfast and as many pastries and you can handle.
Peter McCullagh
Best breakfast spot in Cambridge! Get the Turkish coffee. Pastries are all excellent and the yogurt is unreal.
Caroline Kerr
Awesome place for coffee, baked goods, and specialty foods and spices!!
Fyodor Wolf
I've been coming here since they opened, and it's still one of my favorite destination outside of the city. Keep in mind, seating is limited.
G L
The morning bun is easily the best pastry I have had in the USA.
Thomas Brady
Delicious food, very busy and no place to sit. We sat further down the street in front of an optical shop. The good was well worth the trouble
Nick Dubrule
The most unusual, delicious and amazing Middle Eastern food, served canteen-style in a small place, always packed with people.
Jacob Rosenfeld
Everything about this place is amazing. The Sausage Pita is a great breakfast, and the seasonal drinks are amazing
Shai Plonski
Simply one of the most special places to eat in Boston... The flavors and variety of savory, sweet and drinks are out of this world
Berk USTA
Tasty Turkish and Mediterranean inspired savory dishes and sweets. Cozy atmosphere. Great chef.
emre biyikli
The wait line is always too long. And, it doesn’t makes sense to make people wait who are just going to pick up pre-made stuff.
Elizabeth Ferreira
If I lived close by I would go here every week. Their hot food is incredible and their mezzo is delicious.
Hector Tarrido
Wao. Bueno. Bonito. Barato. What a great place to have an amazing meal at a great price point. Make sure to come here if you are ever in Boston. Worth the commute

Great middle eastern food, so far just dinning outside.

Tracy S
Love everything I've ever had here.

Always great, unless they run out if what you went for, then what you get instead will be great!
Kristopher Kuss
I've never had a bad thing from Sofra. The borek is the best!
Paul Campese
Great food, but frustratingly chaotic and disorganized. Better to come for take out rather than eating in.
H Vo (cheeseburgersub)
Their chocolate chip cookies absolutely slaps. One of my faves. The tahini donuts are 👌 …
Elizabeth Segran
We heard about this place because of Oleana. The ambiance was relaxed and fun. The food was delicious. I wish I lived closer because I would come all the time!

Pretty good place for a quick and easy taste of middle eastern cuisine. Want to return with friends next time!
Rakhi Kumar
Great food but the service for takeout is a terrible experience. Wish they bought back dine in
Michael Louie Grant
A five star Middle East restaurant, which preserved an awesome building, with an unbearably pretentious clientele. Well done, league of hipster Cantabrigians; you've successfully excluded me!
Dan Curll
Best baklava I ever had: moist with honey, packed with nuts and chocolate makes flavours ludicrously complex.
Kelsey Christopher
Cute place with lots of things to purchase. Was really busy when I went but food was good and came out fairly quickly for how busy it was.
Megan Kinneen (MFKDesign)
Sofra made me regret moving out of Watertown. I've never had a better Chai and their pastries are perfection.
Johnny Chan
Hidden gem in Cambridge but too crowded and hot. Parking can be a nightmare. The food is decent.
Glenn Parker
As authentic as you can get for Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine, with freshly prepared food and a market of local and imported delicacies.
Otto Warner
Traditional, delicious middle eastern cafe. Great breakfast and lunch. Good for take out too.
Oralia Acosta
EXCELLENT food; a little pricey however, it needs more seating! I think the wine space is underused! What an experience!
Emily Jacobsen
Delicious and priced to break the bank. The little manakeesh ought to be slimmer and less elastic but the zaatar mix is spot on.
Francis Nviri
Desserts treats that are not your ordinary kind. Definitely a sweet experience for anyone that hasn't had them before.
Michael Proscia
Great coffee and tea, great mezze plates of all types. The shakshuka is my personal favorite.
