Great food and location! My partner and I had some actually freshly squeezed orange juice, burrito, and french toast breakfast. 😋 And one thing I must say about the French toast, it is the best I have ever had. You can tell that it was a freshly baked bread made here and it was so well made, I'll probably dream of it a few days. After a stay at the best western next door, it was a perfect pick-me-up before hitting the road again. I will be back again. Cute and laid back.

Are we serious that this place is anything less of 5 stars on review here? Absolutely amazing food, service, and price. I was recommended to go here for a “good breakfast” on my work trip to Montana, and I owe the the person huge amount of thanks for sharing this place. Now you’ll thank me if you’re reading this and visit here. For food: I ordered sausage gravy (had a kick - which I love), scrambled eggs, cheddar bacon hash brown bites (crispy outside, totally moist core with cheese or sour cream I can’t tell but amazing, and side of cheddar dip. So creative and delicious) , and small sized pancakes - that are totally not small at all. I also ordered coffee that they refill. The bill comes out to be $17.55 and I am shocked the hefty portion of the food vs the price here. It would probably equivalent to $40 meal before tax and tip in California and NYC. The service is amazing, the atmosphere is super chill, very family friendly. My server was Maryanne. She was so hospitable and professional, and she answered all my questions. You can tell many of the customers are regulars and employees have to go above and beyond to build that almost family like type of atmosphere. Totally recommend this place and will be back next time I’m in Montana!

This place had some great reviews but our expectations were quickly dashed when we waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive only to find it cold. What a let down for our one meal in Billings. Three stars only because I stopped at the bakery counter on my way out and the people there were nice. I would not go back even if I was in Billings for a week!

We really loved the place! It wasnt too big but neither is it too small. The huckleberry jam/syrup is just simply heavenly! The food was overall delicious though the service was ok. Would love to visit again!

Ok so I was brutally honest last time I was here. Now it's under new ownership has been for a while. I just hadn't gone back. That all said WOW! It is way better. We had a great breakfast this morning. Thanks for the friendly service and good food.

Stella’s Kitchen and Bakery is a must-stop for breakfast. The cinnamon rolls are massive and delicious - enough for four people to share. So good!! The rancher omelet is loaded with meat and cheese. The pancakes are huge and fluffy. (I could keep going.) The service is friendly and fast. Bring your appetite and enjoy the experience.

The restaurant is in a fantastic location with beautiful surroundings. The staff are absolutely brilliant at making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive and are very attentive to your needs. I had the same waitress both times I ate there and she went out of her way to make sure I wanted for nothing. The food is excellent and cooked to perfection and most certainly a 'finger licking' finish everytime. In my own ignorance I don't remember the waitresses name she was a silver/white haired lady who has a very positive attitude towards life a great smile! I will definitely be back for more 😊😎

We really enjoy eating here. They have some of the best baked goods in the area. Gigantic monster cakes (pancakes), huge cinnamon rolls and more. Stella's surprise or the breakfast burrito are also excellent. The only downside is the wait time, which can be 30+ minutes during breakfast hours. Quite probably Billings best for Breakfast.

I was a bit skeptical because this place looks like a Perkins, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I had the best chicken and waffles I've ever tasted. My wife really enjoyed her breakfast burrito. And our server was quick to refil our drinks and made some excellent menu recommendations.

I go here for the wonderful breakfasts. I love the corned beef hash with easy eggs dripping all over it, and the crunchy fresh bread to accompany it. My other go to is the omelets. Huge!!! Delicious, staff also friendly but it's always busy

Long wait for great food. My wife loved the biscuits and gravy and it was the best bacon I have had. The staff was friendly and fast. Also amazing fresh squeezed orange juice. I had the cinnamon roll and it was good but not the best I have have before. I like a cream cheese frosting and this was a plain frosting. I will return when in the area.

Today was our 2nd time having breakfast here. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Today our party of six all ordered completely different meals and everyone just raved about how delicious they were. Extra praise because they actually serve perfectly crispy hashbrowns when we requested. It was very busy and full of patrons, even so our waitress was friendly & attentive. Our food came out quick and the portions were very generous. Never tried the lunch menu but I sure would like to the next time we are in Billings.

Stella's is number One. The food is just fabulous. The monster pancakes are gigantic, the biscuits and gravy are so delicious! You just have to eat here. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. I highly recommend.

My family ate here for breakfast a few months ago after seeing a concert across the street. I'm not lying when I say I've literally had dreams about the huckleberry pancakes. It was so good. It's been months and I can't stop thinking about them. My family lives out of state but I want to come back here so bad. It was such a good breakfast, and until I can come back, it lives in my dreams as a beautiful memory.

I don't really go to Stella's once in a while but they have really good food big portions portions I've heard of been bought out by somebody else but the food still is good they have good baked bread baked breads break they have a Cinnamon rolls Palmer rolls too they're all good go and try it you'll love it

Well, we were not told of the large cost of adding cheese & onion to the top of eggs. 4.50 So when the bill came, we were shocked. There was some microwaved food because when it cooled off, it was hard as a rock. Although it has been years since I have eaten here, I have to question the quality. Food is more expensive lately, and inflation has made us more aware of our restaurant choices for the future.

This is a Billings Montana MUST DO! Great menu, fresh ingredients, food was hot, portions are monstrous and taste was phenomenal. I'm going back tomorrow! Only open till 4pm? What?!? 😳 I guess you better go for breakfast or lunch. Great bakery products, all fresh made here? Crazy awesome! I guess you can choose gluten free, dairy free wheat free but I like real food on my plate. 😎 Lori was so patient with us never being here and bug eyed at the menu!

This was our second trip to Billings a second trip to Stella’s. We came from Sioux Falls SD heading to Yellowstone, and made the detour to Billings for Stella’s breakfast. Sounds crazy but true. The food was cooked quickly, correctly, made to order and delicious. I should also mention it was piping hot. Service was friendly, courteous, and kept our coffee cup full. Did I mention the food was delicious. When we make it back through Billings you can bet we will go to Stella’s.

Ordered a breakfast burrito and received a giant delicious feast. Saved half for lunch. This place has a full bakery down stairs so all bread products are fresh. To a trucker like me this place is a hidden treasure. I will come back every time I'm in town. Can't wait to try their other dishes.

They should thank the Doubletree for the recommendation first of all, it's a clean, nice place. The pastry in the display looks amazing. The pancakes were spot on as well. I did order scrambled eggs, simple enough. The were scrambled, poured onto a griddle, cooked flat and folded into its shape. There was no fluffiness, creaminess, softness ...but that might be a norm here. The staff was very friendly, outgoing as well...dont get me wrong, maybe I travel too much, I'm an ex chef as well. It draws a nice following so it's nice to see loyal customers. I did ha e the choice of fresh squeezed or concentrate orange juice....that doesn't happen often..next time, I will go with the regular eggs, and pass on scrambled..

We had an excellent mid day breakfast. The food was very good rich with flavor. Our server was also really good full of charactor. My wife devoured the cinnamon roll like a starving orphan having been introduced to sugar for the very first time after a 40 day forced march across a desert. We will be going here again. I dont think I have a say in the matter. Still a great place for breakfast.

I was in the area for an appointment.we looked up restaurants near by and decided on Stella's kitchen. The French dip and veggie sandwich was delicious. They were made with the bread they bake there. Took a sticky bun home and it was fabulous!

The service here was great; friendly and fast. I’ve only eaten here once, so I can’t say much about the food. I got the huevos rancheros. It was presented weirdly, but was tasty. Looking forward to trying more menu items in the future.

Stella's is just around the corner from the Double Tree Inn if you are staying downtown. It is a good setting and always busy which is a good sign. I only had take-out (busy so did not want to wait for a seat) with sunny side up eggs, gluten free toast with a gluten free pancake. Did not want to take pics of the food in the takeout containers due to poor presentation. The staff was very respectful and attentive but I do want to point out JOHN who was awesome and continuously updated me on the progress of my order when he was very busy himself. Excellent guest service and experience. Thank you.

This is the most amazing place. On vacation, my husband & I detoured 100 miles just to have breakfast at Stella's. The cinnamon roll is the best. A family member originally recommended Stella's. She told me that she could not remember the name or exact location. But she told me to go to downtown Billings and follow the smell. That's what we did in 2018. We have not stopped talking about the restaurant since. And we could hardly wait to get back there in 2022. We will be back again.

I’m out goi g to write a long review about how flippin great and amazing this place is, I won’t sit here and tell you how nice and entertaining our server was or how delicious my huckleberry crepes were and how I could opt resist all of their baked goods with the amazing smells of delicious cinnamon rolls moseying through the seating area. Just eat here, buy some baked goods, I’m gonna miss this jewel because I’m a traveler … ugh. Eat here!!

Have been wanting to try this place as the outside is inviting and I love breakfast. Was not disappointed as the food was great. The wait was 30 to 40 minutes but that is what happens when a place is great. Hash browns and omelet were wonderful and not greasy. Since it's a bakery I ordered the cinnamon raisin toast which was awesome. Waitress was very friendly and engaged with the group. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

I had the Corned beef hash w/2 eggs, 2 slices of wheat toast and was delicious 😋! The corned beef hash is made in house not out of a can. The portion filled the entire plate! I also had fresh squeezed orange 🍊 juice instead of the alternative concentrated orange juice. Also a cup of coffee ☕. The total cost without tip was $20.65. The service was great and the waitress was very friendly and had my food within 10 minutes and it was fairly busy. I recommend this place for a delicious breakfast. They have a wide variety of bakery/ pastries as well.

Stunning display of baked goods as soon as you walk in. I bought a couple peanut butter cookies and a cherry turnover for the next day. Both were delicious. For breakfast, I ordered the burrito with hash browns and a side of biscuits & gravy. The hash browns & biscuits & heavy were unbelievably good. The burrito was also incredible albeit slightly greasier than expected. My fresh-squeezed OJ was a bit pricey at $4.95 for a large glass but the flavor was acceptable for oranges in Billings, MT in December. Service was flawless as Patti took great care of me. My food was brought out as soon as it was ready (I could see the kitchen expo window from where I sat.) and was the perfect temperature. Locals filled the place, for good reason, and there were several out-of-towners like myself treated to a wonderful experience.

Last time there, I tried Stellas breakfast special and 2 eggs, 3 sausage links & apple crepes instead of pancakes, simply devoured it!! Only $11.25! Their outside deck is almost done, too.

If you are in Billings Montana you absolutely must go to this restaurant for breakfast. Expect to wait for a bit as it is a popular hotspot critically on Sunday after church. Fresh-baked bakery items, breads and cinnamon rolls are outstanding. This is without question the best breakfast spot in Billings Montana.

Busy place with tons of fresh baked goods. Only down side was our over medium eggs were just past over easy. Portion size is plentiful! Plan for 10-15 min waits at times. Overall, we'd go back.

I would eat here for every meal if I could. The place has such a large variety of meals and all of them look delicious. Have had the French Toast, the breakfast burrito, avocado sandwich (with bacon), the pancakes, and a couple more items I can't remember. I enjoyed every bite. I would also recommend getting the huge cinnamon roll to take home and snack on. Since my girlfriend introduced me to this place for the first time, I make it a point to stop here at least once every time we visit Billings.

My husband and I always really love coming here. I have a restricted diet that makes eating out for breakfast hard sometimes but I LOVE the Gluten Free Coffee Cake here. It's SO good. My husband always loves his food and cinnamon rolls are very good. Our service at this restaurant is always outstanding, Lori is such a sweet waitress. She served us today and we have seen her so many times at the restaurant, she is always so nice with an infectious smile on her face 😊

This is hands down one of the best breakfast/lunch places in all of Billings! Food is consistently above expectations! The wait might seem daunting but is worth it! My favorites are any of the omelettes, light fluffy and so perfect. Get a cinnamon roll for later!! Wish I could put down my fork and take a picture! Next time…

Delicious!! Ate here after staying at the Best Western Clocktower Inn. Our waitress, Sara, was super sweet with our three small children, and helped us sort out our bill after we'd forgotten to give her our meal voucher from the hotel. I had the French toast meal, and the French toast was so good - huge thick slabs of bread. Yum!! Definitely go here for breakfast. Would come again!

The breakfast I had was Corned Beef Hash and it was homemade not canned. The plate was filled to the edges and piled pretty thick w/2 fried eggs on top with 2 pieces of toast. I had the fresh sqeezed orange 🍊 juice, which I highly recommend 👌 and a cup a coffee ☕ for a decent price. The service was outstanding and my food took around 7-10 minutes and it was fairly busy that morning 🌄.

Got meal complimentary from staying at the hotel. Better than most complimentary breakfasts I've had but not better than many restaurants I've been to. Food was okay, very long wait. For some reason, several people who were seated way after us received their food much sooner.

The last few times I have ordered to go I have had issues witn missing parts of my food The food is good wish the front counter service & to go attendant were more detailed and checked the orders to make sure all the food is there. My last to go order the older lady who answered the phone added hashbrowns to each order when I only asked for one. Charged me for 3 orders of it and I only got one and part of one order was missing. Took it back and was able to get the bacon that was missing but not the hashbrowns and was told they couldn't refund. Disappointing!

Staying at the BW Clocktower hotel includes a delicious breakfast from Stella's. A busy morning did not stop anyone from being so incredibly friendly and accommodating. We couldn't believe the size of those cinnamon rolls! Ginormous! Our server (I wish I could remember her name...white/silver hair) was so friendly and kind deserves to be showered in Tips! Thank you!

Came here because the reviews were wonderful. Be prepared for a long wait on a Sunday just like anywhere else for breakfast. The service was great. Our food though was cold. For how long we waited (45 minutes and then some for our food) I thought we’d get a hot meal. Our waiter was very nice however. I don’t know if we’ll return but at least we tried it.

Our party had biscuits and gravy meal, ranchers omelette, chicken fried steak and eggs, and hamburger steak and eggs. Everything was wonderful! Service was great even during a busy time. The price of everything including drinks was around $50. We also picked up some Russian tea cookies and a loaf of sourdough bread on the way out - an excellent choice on our part! You should expect a line for a table but you'll be very happy you waited.

If you are visiting Billings, go here. Some of the friendliest staff in town and the food is home cooked. A Billings staple and the perfect breakfast spot. Parking after 8AM can be iffy though due to it being downtown.

Stellas is a great mix of simple and creative non intimidating breakfast and lunch classics. There's something to appeal to everyone's fancy from sweet and salty butter pancakes to crispy fried chicken and waffles. There are a few lighter health based options in case you're not looking for a traditional American greasy spoon breakfast. What really stands out though it's their bountiful selection in their pastry box. I could get lost in the wide array of options. Lastly my server was nothing short of excellent. She was patient with my child and the insuing mess I'm sure she knew was going to occur but she reassured us " just enjoy you meal she isn't bothering me or anyone else ". All and all I will return and recommend to families traveling in the area.

This is the best place I've eaten at in Montana so far. The food is just amazing; the staff is friendly and professional. The prices are much cheaper than I would expect for food this good. It's a must go to at least twice a week.

Not 1 complaint. Seating went from 10 minutes to 30 seconds. Food was out in a timely manner,even though the tables were full. There are restrooms down the stairs,thankfully. The 2 upstairs were occupied,a employee graciously walked by and let me know of the one's down the stairs. We will be back! :)

The wait was about 20 minutes at 10:30 a.m. on a Wednesday. The dining room was clean and our waitress was okay. She only came by once before she presented the check. Our meals were hot and tasty. My eggs were perfect and the home baked bread(s) were delicious! The first time since moving to Billings 8 months ago. I eat out at least three times per week, retirement is wonderful! __________________________________________________ Update: Monday, August 29th. I was there a little past 8 a.m. and a single diner. Because I hadn't been there since last summer, I carefully looked at the menu, as it wasn't busy. I gave her my breakfast order and she asked how I wanted my eggs? I replied, "over very light." She said, "you mean over-easy." No...over very light please. "We only have three keys for the eggs." Ask the cook that I would like my eggs..." She rudely cut me off and I got the immediate impression that she couldn't be bothered to insure a customers order is prepared to his/her satisfaction. I do not appreciate a server giving me an attitude! I happened to have my employment ID with me and showed her the badge with my picture. I am an Executive Chef. I got up and left. I will never set foot inside that establishment again! I will give my business to The Tippy Cow from now on. I have always had wonderful meals there. Large portions, very good and very reasonable prices. New owners since February or March.

Went here because we stayed at the Clocktower Inn by Best Western that was literally next door and gave us free breakfast to Stella's. This was the best surprise we got to be honest and I cannot recommend eating here enough. The breakfast burrito is the best thing I have had in a long time. There is little to no grease and is such a simple breakfast burrito but is so great! We also got coffee bread that was super flavorful and moist as well as a cinnamon role that was the size of a small kids head that fed 4 people easily. Do know that Stella's is not a well kept secret though so either order ahead or get there early or you will be waiting awhile for a table and food as they get busy fast.

I visited this establishment for the first time today, and I must say, it was (in the words of Tony Tiger), GRRRREAT!!!! The service was fast, accurate, and friendly. It was a pleasant, cozy, atmosphere, and the food was very good. The fresh fruit was fresh and my food was prepared nicely. It was very good food at a reasonable price. Plus, you have to try one of their cinnamon rolls. Wow! Give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

Our 9 year old got the crepes, she wasn't too hot on the filling because it wasn't super sweet but she is 9! I thought they were great! Our waitress was wonderful and she was so patient with a 3 and 1 year old.

Staff was nice. It appeared to be short staff and the wait was awful. We actually attempted to go three times. Each time the wait was 40min plus. We didn’t stay the first two times and the third time we waited for an hour. Then to only find out the food wasn’t good. Food was cold when delivered and the mochas weren’t worth the money. I will not be returning to eat here except to try their pastries. I am a cinnamon roll lover and I would like to at least try their “world famous cinnamon roll.”

I had breakfast here on a Sunday morning while I was traveling in Montana. It's always a telling sign when you see people lined up outside, waiting for tables. Service was friendly and food was great. Keep in mind that this is NOT health-food, but that's not why you come to a place like this. Stella's would be a great choice when you are looking for an indulgent, big breakfast.

This place had a decent breakfast. The wait to be seated was over 20 minutes. I had french toast and one of them was amazing but the other was not cooked all the way. I am not the type of person that sends food back or complains to the waitress so I suffered it. The price is very good for what you get. I was not impressed with the box of a dozen cookies that I purchased. They were lacking in flavor.

This is a very popular place but it just doesn’t work for me. There are people who will tell you it’s the best- so it could be my quirkiness. For meals I find the breakfast their best feature and it’s ok. I only did lunch once so I may not be qualified to really know what they are like. What I had was very small portioned and expensive- and eh. I will say their bakery items are amazing. If I was going in for that and coffee I’d give it five stars. On the weekends you will wait. It has a tendency to be crowded all the time. Very busy. Service is pretty good.

We're passing through Billings and needed a quick bite before we took off. Stella's was around the corner, so we put a to-go order in for a breakfast sandwich and burrito. Great portions and quality ingredients! Love the bacon on the sandwich and all the onions and bell peppers in the burrito! Everything is well balanced and flavorful in a clean way. We went here for breakfast because the Best Western gives you a breakfast voucher instead of the breakfast buffet. The choices were restricted by the hotel as to what was on that menu. You were not allowed 2 beverages so could not have a juice and a cup of coffee. The menu of the restaurant is fine if you wanted to pay extra money for that. This restaurant gets busy at 7:15 so service can be slow after that. The food tasted good and our server Jenny was polite and pleasant so that made the breakfast better. If Best Western is going to eliminate the breakfast buffet, we may be taking our business elsewhere.

It was expectedly busy on a Sunday morning. The wait was around a half hour for a table for 3. Around 9:45 am. The place was clean, employees too. The menu is downloadable by scanning a QR code with your smart phone. Not sure if they have laminated menus for those folks who don't? My girlfriend had a half order of French toast. It looked like a quarter of a loaf anyway. 😂 But was delicious. Served with sausage links, as a seperate side order. My son had Eggs Benedict for the first time. The eggs were poached perfectly. The hollandaise was excellent! In his words, I have a new breakfast favorite. I need to learn how to cook this. I had the much lauded Corned Beef Hash. Listed 3rd on my Google search for Best Corned Beef Hash in Billings, MT. One of the top three only has it during select times. Not available while I was there in last few days of July and the first few days of August 2021. It was good. Rough cut/shredded potatoes with chunks of corned beef and two eggs over medium. Served with two slices of sourdough toast. Eggs cooked to order. And choices of different breads for toast or English Muffin. I brought my own coffee in my own cup. So I can't say about their coffee.

Good food is very good. however cooks will not very, for example if I want a 2 egg omelette instead of a three egg, they won’t do it. There is no teamwork between hostesses, servers, coffee runners, water runners. If your server is available they will refill of coffee or water but they will not pour anyone else’s. they’ll return back to the coffee or water station with a full pot. I usually only get 1 cup of coffee or one glass of water. So basically there’s absolutely no teamwork they all work for themselves and will only work on their tables and tickets So of you order coffee or water do not expect a refill as no other server will even look your way. They will fill their tables and no one else’s.

Got lunch from Stellas and it was great. Our sandwiches were great tasting with fresh ingredients and the salads were huge, again with really fresh ingredients. Only downside was the potato salad, it lacked taste,too many pickle chunks and the chunks of potatoes were different sizes so some were done and some not and please peel your taters next time!! Last but not least we had the Giant cinnamon roll! We shared it, twice with extra bubbles here and thete!! It was gigantic and the taste was terrific!!

For my first time there, my girlfriend and I were barely greeted, I didn't even get a beverage, and our server had this weird attitude, widening her eyes like she was annoyed, and not making us feel welcome at all. A typical homestyle diner, Stella's provides American comfort food and a particularly delicious breakfast. The Monster pancakes are huge and the cinnamon buns are sweet and delicious. The staff is very nice, and I really enjoyed the sides as well; even the hash browns and sausage links were delicious. This is a great spot in Montana, and if you're anywhere in the area it's worth it to stop by just to try the baked goods.

As a visitor to Billings, I was told this is THE downtown breakfast spot... and it is! Parking can be a little challenging because Stella's is so popular(!), but a short walk is definitely worth it, and you'll need one after breakfast at Stella's. Their baked goods are awesome and they run a separate bakery business in town, as well. Don't miss getting their cinnamon bun: not only is it PLATE SIZED it is delicious!

First off, I'd like to thank our server, Tyler, for providing amazing service throughout our stay. You're awesome Tyler :) Now for the food! THE FOODDDDD!!! I ordered the burger....medium. Yes! They actually let you select the doneness of your burger! I've never been to a diner that offers that. Anyways, ohmygoodness, it was awesome. Cooked perfectly, soft bun, fresh vegetables, and it tasted great even without the BBQ I ordered with it. My mother ordered the Fajita Wrap. I only had one bite, but it was amazing. We also shared the Caramel Roll. Super soft, completely saturated with caramel and nuts, and it was hugeee! We had a fantastic experience here and would go back if we ever go through the area again! The atmosphere was good (we had a nice booth that was kind of tucked away), kind of similar to some Perkins I've been in. The prices are also pretty good for the amount of food you get. One thing that irked me was that the bathroom I went in was a bit dirty, but I don't expect a restaurant to clean it every 30 minutes (some people are just nasty). Also, there is little/no parking for this place, so you'll have to park in the nearby parking garage or on the street.

I visited Stella's years ago, now that we live here we have found some things do change. We pre-ordered pies for Thanksgiving and due to an emergency we were not able to pick up Wednesday. Just as well as we called Friday to let them know we missed the pick up and if they could donate to a food bank down town. After a little mishap they did call us back and fixed everything that was wrong. This is a restaurant that is going the extra mile to provide service. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Stella's consistently serves a great tasting breakfast. My group meets there weekly. We seem to prefer the simple eggs, bacon (or sausage) and toast which is always prepared correctly. Our other favorites are blueberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy or the breakfast burrito. The crowd starts gathering at seven so get there early or leave enough time for a short wait (during the week) or maybe a longer wait (on the weekends.)

They got a cherry pie here that'll kill ya! Great spot for breakfast or lunch, with homemade bread, pies, and other desserts. Several vegetarian options. Can be quite busy, but it's a big place and the line moves quickly. Try the cherry pie, coffee, anything with hasbrowns. Their sourdough bread is also highly recommended!
