I had the Donut Crunch. I believe it's called. It was a glazed donut with fried chicken in the middle with pickles and The Cracked sauce. I have no complaints. We also ordered the Super crunch sandwich with fries and the kids cheeseburger with fries. Got a half a dozen of Donuts. The Donuts are very tasty and not too sweet. Going back next week for the new flavors.

Cute doughnuts but too sweet for me. Burger was tasty till the middle was pinkish raw. I wasn’t ask what temperature I want my burger so I assumed it would be well done. Free parking. Nice patio. Cheese fries was delicious

Ordered via DoorDash and got it very quickly which is always a plus. Ordered the Egg & Cheese bun with chicken sausage and the strawberry glaze donut. The donut is sweet so be mindful. Really enjoyed my sandwich, wasn’t expecting the egg to be like over easy so that was messy but still went well with the bread and the sandwich as a whole. Would be back !

Accessible spot with so many excellent options. Donuts are great. They use a brioche-style yeasted dough so the donut has a little chew and a lot of flavor. I also had kolache with sausage and cheese that was very good. Hash browns were amazing and the iced coffee was spot on. Incredibly friendly service.

For a low key, inexpensive breakfast in a town filled with 'brunch specials', this is your spot! Say you don't need all the bell's and whistles, the bottomless mimosas and such, H.D.B. serves up delicious delectable doughnuts and old fashioned American themed breakfast. While you won't find a southern staple like grits, you will fall into flavors you may not have experienced before in their Glazed Blueberry icing, or Boston-Creme, crammed with their signature custard. But, like most Sunday mornings, the crowds do come. My stop there was just right. I got in on a rare lull, but quickly, another wave of folks came through. Despite the flow of customers, the service was very accommodating. Whether the cashier, or a server, the staff seemed to be aware of customer's needs and responded accordingly. (Clearing a table without being asked, or coming from behind the counter ro take a plate a customer had been carrying when finished with their meal.) Even apologizing, for a wait, that was obvious and expected on a day like that. I liked the little touch of putting the doughnuts in pouches, like White Castle does. I had the breakfast, but I noticed the burgers and more lunch time meals on the menu. I imagine were just as tasty. The prices were reasonable. Although, the coffee may have been a little on the high end for the type of place it is. (I would expect to pay 4.50 for coffee, or some such at S.b. but not here) Otherwise, it was alright. The patio, and the shade that was offered with the umbrellas and coverings were much appreciated and many people seemed to enjoynsitting outside on a pleasant morning. It's gonna be one of my spots to return to! Make it yours.

I recently visited my favorite donut shop and had an amazing experience. Not only were the donuts delicious, but the staff went above and beyond to ensure I left happy. I accidentally left my order in my Uber, but when I returned to the shop, they not only gave me my original order, but also an extra three donuts as a gesture of goodwill. I am so grateful for their kindness and will definitely be returning for more delicious treats in the future. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a tasty donut and excellent customer service. 5 stars!

I’ve heard so much about this place. Finally got a chance to go, Did not disappoint. The place was clean, staff was friendly. THE DOUGHNUTS are phenomenon. The dough were soft and moist. Not overly sweet. So many choices to choose from. Definitely can’t get them all in one visit.

Ok Bonnie Tyler, I was holding out for a hero and I found him!! We were looking for a breakfast spot on a Sunday that wasn’t overhyped on TikTok with an 180 minute wait and stumbled upon this place. They have donuts, eggs, bacon, breakfast sandwiches, all the breakfast options you can imagine in a fast casual dining atmosphere. The seating was plenty (go before 11:30) and I ordered the breakfast plate which comes with eggs, toast, meat and hash browns. The breakfast plate did what it needed to do. The eggs, fluffy. Bacon, thic. Toast, light. Hash browns, girl. Amazing. Also pictured is the spicy crunch sandwich which we both rated a 8.5 out of 10. Good bread, spicy but not too spicy. Also also not pictured is the Oreo donut that made me say multiple profanities. It was light and fluffy with the perfect amount of Oreo without being too sweet. The perfect way to end a great breakfast. Go here.

Location: 7/10 pretty convenient, they also have a small amount of parking behind the building. Customer service: 5/10 average, friendly. Nothing above or beyond. Glazed donut: 8/10 would’ve been higher but they don’t seem to rotate fresh ones. At 1p on a Sunday we got the last 2 in the case. They were a little stale from sitting uncovered. Fresh out would be a 10 Grilled cheese: 0/10 nasty take it off the menu. A burger bun flipped (sesame seeds inside) unmelted kraft singles Burger: 8/10 a bit greasy on the finish but solid meat quality and condiments. Cold brew: 7/10 Lemonade: 10/10 fresh squeezed not too sweet

Got the bacon bourbon pepperjack burger, which was savory and a tad spicy and overall very satisfying. The fries can be too soft, but the cheese fries are solid. Good vide and some seating inside, shared seating with the hot dog place outside.

Solid breakfast. Worth checking out. I got the overnight oats bowl and everyone else got the hero breakfast. The oats were served in a plastic cup which I thought was a bit wasteful as we dined in and I was told it would come in a bowl. The oats were tasty and had just the right amount of cinnamon and fresh fruit. I was a bit shocked to see my son’s fried chicken portion with his hero breakfast. It was a tiny piece of chicken. It was more like a nugget. The highlight for me overall was the hash browns which I didn’t even order. I just stole a couple from my kids and husband haha. I love the blocks of crispy potato. I’ve never had hashbrowns like that. I’d go back for the hashbrowns alone. Delicious.

Delicious! We had breakfast and lunch here this weekend. Everything we ate was fresh & tasty. I absolutely love the donuts, not overly sweet. Even if you don't live close, make the trip, you won't be disappointed

Extremely friendly staff. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Breakfast sandwiches are unique and fresh and they also have kolaches. Indoor and outdoor seating is spacious. And the DONUTS - simply to die for.

Right in the heart of Summerhill. Hero offers a great selection of doughnuts and sandwiches (buns), and also features a spacious patio and well-spaced dining area. I got the Butterbeer Doughnut (for Harry Potter’s birthday) and their chocolate/peanut butter doughnut. I also tried their fried pork roll bun. The bun was fairly large, filling, and tasty. Was honestly surprised how big it was. Doughnuts were also very tasty, and I loved the different options they featured. Staff seemed super eager and knowledgeable about all the different doughnut types. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good lunch, or hankering for a unique doughnut. Can’t wait for the days to cool down a bit so I can frequent the patio more, too. Atlanta has a lot of doughnut competition these days!

Had to try this place after lunch at Hot Dog Pete’s since it’s right next door. I got a doughnut with chocolate icing, and I can’t believe how light it was. Sometimes a yeast doughnut can be far too dense, at which point you may as well get a cake doughnut. But these were perfectly light and fluffy. While some doughnuts you just kind of scarf down as a morning sugar rush, this is a doughnut you savor.

I tried this place for the first time yesterday and fell in love. I was back the next day. Everything was so fresh and well crafted. The mocha latte was perfect - rich, chocolatety, and well blended. They have the best coleslaw I've ever had. The super crunch was true to its name. Best cheese sauce. And best thing - friendly, and helpful staff! The restaurant is super clean with scenic outside seating. Hero is now on my rotation for Brunch.

This little spot was nice after my Tennis practice at Grant Park. I saw it and figured I can't have Doughnuts or sweets but to my surprise they had a well rounded menu. I had the grilled chicken and my buddy had the turkey avocado sandwich. Great experience a must try spot.

This was the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had (bacon egg cheese). All of their sauces work perfectly together. Bun was buttery and fresh. The staff is so kind and accommodating. Cannot recommend enough!

I ordered the Top It with chicken sausage (the secret sauce on this thing was the best!), the Hero Breakfast Plate (hubby loved the hashbrowns!) and the Sugar & Spice donut (baked beautifully, hit the spot) with coffee. Really enjoyed the outdoor patio on a Sunday morning and will be returning again.

Among the many hidden gems of Summerhill, Hero Donuts is yet another. I may edit this review to add more. But you should know that not only are the donuts high quality, THEY HAVE A LOT OF GOOD FOOD OPTIONS. They have a great salad, a breakfast egg sandwich, and other chicken items I have not tried yet.

Excellent customer service!! Food fast and fresh, not to mention very tasty food and pastries! Grilled Chicken salad was fresh, dad's burger great, and chicken sandwich super good!! Facility was clean!! I definitely recommend a visit!

Came in for a Saturday lunch, and ate out on their patio. Hero is a great spot in Summer if if you wanna grab lunch or breakfast. Along with their doughnuts, they have a nice selection of sandwiches and burgers. I was very satisfied with my food. No need to worry about parking in the Summerhill area. There's plenty!

This review is for donuts only. We went at 11:15 on a Sunday. They still had all of their donuts available. They also had the Bread Pudding donut, even though the menu says they only have it on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We got a half dozen donuts. Here’s what we got, in order of my preference: - Cookies and Cream ($2.59): the icing on top made it good - Pistachio ($2.59): good, but it just tasted like regular icing with pistachios on top - Maple Sea Salt ($2.59): very sweet/salty - OG - Vanilla ($1.89): just okay - Blueberry Crumble ($2.59): didn’t have much flavor at all - Bread Pudding ($3.59): will never get this again and do not recommend; they are not lying when they say it’s bread pudding; it was shaped like a donut with the texture of bread pudding; it just seemed like it was leftover donuts all mashed together from the days before We got coffee. They don’t do iced coffee. If you want iced coffee, they only do cold brew. The coffee was average. Overall, we weren’t that impressed. It was very expensive for basic donuts with different toppings. If we were to go back, it wouldn’t be for their donuts. We would try their lunch or breakfast buns, but we’ll get our donuts elsewhere.

I love a good bologna sandwich. They have the best fried bologna I've had yet. Great job on all our food from ranch fries and chicken nuggets to our donuts. All with great service in a neat stylish clean place. Fantastic job y'all!

This is easily the best selection of donuts I have ever tasted - in the world. The coconut donut was off the roster one week (which hurt my feelings) but was replaced with banana & creme anglaise.... The breakfast sandwich (add bacon) is to die for & I am legitimately too scared to try anything else. The name is in very much the title. What they create with pastry is truly heroic!

This review is for the donuts only. They were ok. I feel that they were close to what you could get at Publix or Kroger as far as taste. I'm sorry though, but these donuts are not worth how expensive they are. Almost 5 dollars a donut for that? No thank you especially since there is an exponentially better place in Ponce city market which isn't far and they are similarly priced. Save your money there are better donuts out there.

I live in the neighborhood and frequent Hero due to it's convenience The food and donuts here are solid, friendly staff and clean interior. Hero is a nice local donut shop that fits in neatly within Summerhill. My only issue with this place, and really the only reason I won't frequent Hero more often is the rampant disorganization with ordering here. It's become a running joke locally that you'll consistently wait 10+ minutes to receive your order for a singular donut. I haven't ever been to a donut shop that takes your order (for a single donut) whilst the staff member stands directly in front of said donut, then asks for your name to call you later when your order is ready. This becomes even more hilarious given the fact that the shop is fully staffed with multiple workers in view and no line or queue to be seen in front of the register 🤣 I'll continue to frequent Hero, it's actually a great restaurant! But unfortunately you'll have to do the waiting ritual if you intend on ordering a single donut

I thoroughly enjoyed each donut I've tried this far. They are quite hardy, so in my opinion you get your money's worth. They are located next door to my favorite hot dog shop so it's a sin to not visit both when in Summerhill. The original vanilla glazed donut is sweet, but not too sweet with a sort of airiness that makes it the perfect companion to a glass of cold milk. I also enjoyed the cinnamon roll donut as well. Unfortunately, I was too greedy to photograph all that I've tried, but trust me they are GOOD.

First visit to this location. I was greeted upon arrival and enjoyed the customer service while I was there. The location was clean and full of energy. It was a little chilly that day otherwise I would have sat outside on their spacious patio. Now let's get to the food - melt in your mouth breakfast sammie! I'm not sure what all was on my turkey,egg, cheese sammie but it was full of flavor! It was a little pricey for breakfast but very fresh and good.

Hero Doughnuts just opened up 3 days ago in the Summerhill neighborhood, and it was delicious! We tried out 4 donuts, a breakfast sandwich, and a double stack burger. Everything was tasty! I’d like to come back and try other things on the menu too. Seems like they serve breakfast all day. Lots on the menu.

We had ordered on Uber and the driver picked up our food and never brought it. We decided once Uber refunded us to go get them ourselves. Not only did the staff at Hero make it up to us but they also gave us some delicious cinnamon rolls as a way to say sorry even though it was nowhere near their fault we were in that situation. Customer for life right here! Plus the food is amazing.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. It’s a perfect place to join colleagues at work or a quick lunch date. The burgers are delicious, pick up is ALWAYS ready expeditiously. I love Andrea she always greats me by name. I eat here at least once a week and I’m addicted. Please try you will not regret your decision. UPDATE: I eat here like once a week. The blonde lady comes off as ditzy and rude. It will be a while before I come back!

Their boston cream donut is superb! Incredible smooth cream and the chocolate has crunchy chocolates on top. The best boston cream in Atlanta. The other donuts are very good. Nice yeast based donuts. Will be back! They definitely rival Revolution and Sublime!

I love this place. The breakfast sandwiches are where it's at, if you go here and get one thing get a breakfast sandwich, the buns are beautiful, the bacon is thick, and the sauces complement. The doughnuts are also good. But I'm a self proclaimed doughnut freak. I'd say these aren't as good as revolution, dutch monkey or five daughters. BUT they're a GREAT middle of the road doughnut, significantly better than Krispy Kreme, davinci doughnuts, dunkin or sublime!

This place was great! I only gave it 4 stars because the flavor difference between doughnuts was very minimal. They all tasted very similar even though they are very different flavors. I would have loved to experience more differences in the flavors. Overall I would be back. The vibe was awesome. Doughnuts were great. There was seating outside next to a hotdog place that provided great covering. They Hero Doughnuts patio has less covering but is surrounded by pretty flowers. The atmosphere is bright and inviting. They also offer more food options that I want to try next time!

Do not be confused by the prices. This was the best donut I have ever eaten. I got the Boston cream and my wife got the vanilla. It's not your grocery store donut and well worth the price. We split the crispy chicken sandwich which was the best chicken sandwich ever! They did not lie. It is crispy! Everyone was super friendly and just an all around great place. I am glad I do not live in the area or else I would not have any money left. Thank you to everyone that works here!!!

The place has a nice vibe and plenty of seats indoors and outdoors. It was relatively busy on a sunday morning but the lines moved quick and the service was also quick. There is tons of free parking across the street for the entire summerhill area. The Boston cream donut was amazing with real cream inside of the donut. Definitely recommend trying it if you are a fan of Boston cream donuts. The egg sandwich was decent but I prefer the egg sandwich at little tart bakeshop down the street. However, the hasbrowns were excellent with a nice thick layer of crunch surrounding the potato. I will for sure be back to check out the other donut flavors!

OMG! 10 out of 10 recommend. I think I actually might right two 5-star reviews because 10 stars wasn’t an options. Where do I start? I got the Dad Burger which was so delicious my patty had the perfect crunch to it, the burger was perfectly saucy, and the bun was so delicious and soft. This was my first time here so I HAD to order a donut solely because the name is Hero’s Donuts, right? I ordered the Oreo donut and honestly I’m glad I wasn’t able to finish my review in the parking lot because I didn’t get to taste my donut until later. I ate it hours later and the donut was still so moist and it had a good amount of icing in the donut. I ordered to go but they did have alcoholic beverages. Next time I visit I definitely plan to eat in . Definitely one of the best burger places in Atlanta. TRY IT!

Soooo good! So far i've tried the banana pudding donut, the jelly donut, and the Homewood. Everything was perfectly balanced- not too sweet, not too greasy, not too dry and bready. The banana filling is a decadent, homemade custard. The jelly filling is more like a fresh, tart jam. And the Homewood! Who doesn't like fresh strawberries and cream? I'm going to say that it counts as a serving of fruit. Despite the sea of parking lots and soulless condos it really is comforting to see all the independent stores and restaurants bringing actual life to Georgia Avenue. They even have the option to conveniently order breakfast as we start the drive to work. Just pull up to the curb and pick up some amazing donuts. Edit: I still really like this place. However, they have the worst coffee cups in the world. The lids pop off if you so much as look at them the wrong way. The seams on the side of the cup leak worse than a SCOTUS memo. I, for one, do NOT like my coffee like my women: scalding and on my lap.

We got there at around 1015 am on a Sunday and they were already sold out of a bunch of the donuts we wanted. They also didn't have a lot of the donuts on the regular menu, but rather some unlisted specials. Now the base donut it delicious. The perfect, light enriched dough. I usually prefer a cake donut but these were good. However they lost me with the toppings. Everything just tasted like sweet sugar, no real difference between flavors. You're better off just getting the OG. There are better donut places around so we probably won't be back.

Sooo good!! We had such a great experience at Hero Doughnuts & Buns!! Their burgers are amazing!! The sauces were all delicious and added the perfect flavors for the perfect bite ... We tried the Hero Burger, Dad Burger, and the Buffalo Super Crunch. The buns are delish, the patties are just the right thickness, and those yummy fresh pickles... Y’all, those burgers are soo fresh and soo good! Of course, the Buffalo Super Crunch was excellent as well... perfectly crispy and sauced all at the same time! Now, the doughnuts.... Swoon!! They are soo fluffy and melt in your mouth!! Our crew tried an assortment of doughnuts, and none of them disappointed, for sure! We certainly bought extra for breakfast in the morning!! I can’t forget to mention the exceptional service... The employees were all very friendly, patient with our group, and our orders were brought to us quickly! The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and such a fun, relaxed environment. Plus, there is plenty of outdoors seating... certainly a plus on nice days, Covid, days, and busy game days!! **Long review** I found out about this gem through my cousin Adriena's food blog, Food Is My Classroom. I had some time today, so I stopped to check them out! I ordered a blueberry cake donut and orange juice. Then I figured I might as well order lunch and take it with me, so I turned around and ordered the hero burger combo. I waited to I got to the car and started eating the donut it was the bomb! You here me! I was so mad at myself for only getting one donut and oh the juice was good too. Fast forward to my lunch time. I bought this burger around 10:30 am I didn't get to eat my lunch til around 5pm.. When I say when I warmed it up to eat, it looked and taste like they just handed it to me! The fries were good! I'm so pleased with my first experience! I'm definitely telling people about this place. Next time I'm ordering the hash browns! My cousin say's it's a MUST!!!

We went right in the middle of the Sunday brunch rush. Our order was accurate, completed in about 14 minutes(lots of different little things) and made deliciously. The kitchen staff in so in sync that they barely even had to speak to each other to keep cranking out such great food. The doughnuts are stellar, especially the pistachio and apple fritter, but don't overlook their lunch items on some of the best buns in the city. We will be back soon. This place is great motivation to work out hard and then eat all of those calories immediately again. And again. Oh yeah, and again.

I got the breakfast bun with bacon, egg, and cheese. Overall, it was delicious! The bun, especially, was perfect: light and fluffy and buttery. My only complaint is that there was way too much sauce on the sandwich and I had to wipe it off with a napkin. Tasted great after that though. After tasting the bun I will definitely be back to try some donuts, they smelled amazing. (Other reason they lost a star is that at least one employee had their mask pulled down over their chin and they allow in person dining in a pretty small space. I'll prob wait until covid is over to come back.)

I like the food but 4 of 5 times my order will be wrong or missing something 😩 It’s so exhausting. Then the tone of the employee is as I am being bothersome. I order through door dash, then I have to call to confirm that they understand I don’t want any sauces on my sandwich. The response is always: if it’s noted on the special request/ticket we will not add it on the sandwich.. Sike! 😞 And 4 of 5 times they will add the the sauces. I am a fan of the sandwiches and hashbrowns but not the house sauces. The sauces are not bad but I like jelly on my breakfast sandwiches vs tangy and/or mayo based sauces. So I have to wipe off the sauces more times than not. Here’s the thing- mistakes happen but when I try to call to stop the error, I get the blow off treatment. I’m paying a total of $35 (door dash fees, tip and food) So I just want my order right when it arrives. I ordered 8 times via door dash. And picked up 4 times since February.

They are priced at the same as Revolution and Doughnut Dollies but get nowhere near their quality. To give more specific feedback on the donuts; the dough was tasteless and the icing on the assortment I purchased lacked depth. Just the taste of sugar predominantly. If you’re looking for donuts that are better than Krispy Kreme but not better than Quiktrip donuts than this spot is for you. The service was good. Attentive and polite.

I don't know what sauce they use but it was such a yummy balance between the egg, the saltines of the cheese, and the buttery bun.
