Reviews of The Well-Bred Bakery & Café in Biltmore Village

This Bakery is by far, the better eatery of the two, when comparing the "Corner Kitchen". Even the prices are a little fairer.
But, what gets MY review is the FLAVOR. The grilled turkey on pretzel bread is OMgosh amazing taste! They have Swiss or your choice. But, sandwiched inside is a topping that makes every bite, one to savor.
And, mind you, at my age, i have taste-tested many pies....but their KEY LIME PIE is simply, THEE BEST of the Best. Eat slow. There is time...and make a taste-bud memory!

Despite the long line waiting to get to the cashier, the service was excellent, the servers being very pleasant and seeming to love what they do. I had the baklava and pumpkin spice cake. The baklava was yummy, yet a tad too sweet for my liking but the pumpkin spice cake…impeccable! The presentation of it, the flavors, the frosting. So so yummy. I’d definitely try other items on their menu.

This place was very cute! Also, there is parking behind the building. Which is very helpful in Biltmore Village. The restaurant is inside an old house and it feels very cozy. The service was quick, and food also came out quickly. I originally ordered the bacon cheddar quiche, but they had run out. Luckily the smoked gouda tomato was delicious! We will be back next time we're in Biltmore village!

Stopped in for breakfast before wandering around Biltmore village. Delightful little place in the midst of businesses and private residences. And lucky to get a close parking spot! I had the spinach and feta quiche which was very good. My friend had the croissant with bacon, egg and cheese. Hubs had the same on cheese biscuit. Shared a mini eclair and chocolate truffle squares. Everything was wonderful. Came back later for a snack of sesame noodles. Yummy!!!

Husband says ‘let’s skip the naff free hotel breakfast and find something decent!’
This time I confess I resorted to google maps to find somewhere close in a hurry!
Well Bred Cafe is an absolute treasure find! The wows as we walked through the door said it all!
Such a huge array of delicious bakery goods had us deliberating for a while, there’s also menu choices of breakfasts as well as lunches.
We settled on a cheese biscuit each. What a great choice and a choice of coffees and milks and creams too.

Everything looks so fresh and so delicious I ordered so much out of pure greed 🤣. The pecan praline cookie was so soft and just the right amount of sweet. The ciabatta was so good I wish I had room for 2!
The drip coffee was nothing special though. I came after 1 and it was cold and I just mixed 2 of their blends because I didn’t want to wait for them to make more.

Stumbled upon this bakery while wandering around outside the Biltmore property. Stopped in for a cup of coffee. I ordered a carrot cake and my son a slice of peanut butter pie. We also ordered a couple cookies for later. My wife ordered a latte.
The carrot cake was really good, moist, but not overly sweet. My son raves about the peanut butter pie. When I tried a bite, it had a nice, creamy texture to it.
My wife like her latte a lot. Was really impressed with the design in the cup!
The cookies were a bit on the dry side, unfortunately.
Overall, really loved this place and recommended it to some people we met later that day.

Awesome place for breakfast and pastries. We ate breakfast and lunch here. Each time we went shopping after eating.
Dan Fisher
Everything is good, but if you're really adventurous, go for the big eclair!
And Pisgah coffee roasters Parkway blend is a perfect way to complete your pastry break.
Susan McKimmy
We were amazed at the Mountain Eclair and just had to try it. My husband and I each ate a half and it was the best eclair I've ever had! Also bought a slice of the Chocolate Buttermilk cake for our dessert that night. It was a slice of chocolate heaven!
Iryna Tsukanova
I love their chocolate cake! I ate it 3 days because it is a really big piece 😅
There’s outside seating.
Breakfast sandwich was ok …
Kara Christine
My favorite lunch and bakery spot in Biltmore Village! As a gluten free eater, I love how everything is clearly marked and the options are plenty. Lovely indoor and outdoor seating areas. Plenty of room and airy atmosphere in the dining areas. I love that this place is not cramped like so many other similar businesses in the area!!
For gluten free folks, you will have plenty of sweets and savories to choose from. I love the huge cookies, rich brownies, and chicken salad. I can’t wait to try the lemon roulade someday!

This place has incredible baked goods! I’ve tried the eclairs, which are made properly with custard and not whipped cream. The carrot cake was moist and the cream cheese frosting was delicious. The key lime pie is amazing, I think they use ginger snaps in the crust. Anyway I’ve been to a lot of bakeries in Asheville and this is one of my favorites! The vibe is great, the staff friendly, it’s clean and it’s the perfect place to meet a friend for coffee and a treat.

Cute bakery in Asheville, NC. Fairly busy on a Sunday, decent assortment of yummies, and customer service was good. Got a chocolate chip cookie, baklava, and crème brûlée. The cookie didn't have much flavor, very basic. The baklava was heavily spiced with cinnamon/cloves, which wasn't expected. The crème brûlée was a great portion but just a little on the very sweet side. Would go back for lunch and a chocolate pot de crème.

A place to relax outside and enjoy your breakfast with a morning coffee or two. Delicious meals no one can resist. Take home some delicious cakes, I do. Great place for family and friends to spend quality time and eat of course. Arrive early to find a parking spot. Enjoy.
Hannah Thompson-Welch
The cookies here are bigger than a personal pizza. I got the oatmeal raisin cookie, which to my surprise, has cinnamon in it. I also got some English Toffee, a grilled cheese sandwich and some Tomato Basil soup. The grilled cheese had been in a panini press. It was perfect to accompany the soup, which had a touch of cream. The desserts were a great addition.
erin M
The chocolate eclair was incredible like the pastry you get in a Parisian cafe. The lunch was excellent and I would go to any of the locations. I think the Weaverville one is larger. The one near Biltmore is very quaint and the outside seating is nice. Walk around to shops and pleasant village.
Greg Preseau
Just had a poor experience here. Ordered a Carmel latte, it was almost all foam with no Carmel. I asked for a redo and the gentleman told me I would be in back of the line or get a refund. He was rude and apparently isn't customer oriented. This is far different than my last experience. Unfortunately, i brought my family this time. Very disappointed.
Michele Pierce
Food is always awesome! Since we are 4 hours away we take some home. This time we stopped onway thru to SC. Had one dessert wrong in box to go. I checked and they changed it. Two days later we were there and ordered two monster cookies, got oatmeal raisin. Did not find until home. Unfortunately same person taking order. Repeated it back so I know heard it right. Can't say we have Ever had this happen which over the years has been several times each year. Sad face though. ...
Mimi Hsu
Great coffee and brownie. We loved the space inside and the staff was very friendly.
Clayton Andrew
Really cute place. I got the breakfast croissant and a mocha. The service was really friendly and the restaurant was clean. I would recommend stopping by for a drink, sandwich or baked good.

Very fresh and natural cafe. We enjoyed the chicken salad on a croissant and another on gluten free bread. The kale salad was one of the best we ever had. We savored every bite. It was a perfect meal before visiting the Biltmore Estate. They have seating inside and out. Great atmosphere.

Well Bred is a cute cafe in Asheville, near the Biltmore Estates. It is a gem my friends and I frequent when in the area. They have breakfast and brunch items BUT their pastries and cookies are the crowning glory! The peanut butter and ginger molasses cookie is my absolute favorite. Don't miss out on this place. The line outside the door should tell you something.
Kevin Jones
Amazingly good food and baked goods. The owner must be a chef as the quality, variety and flavor is exceptional. Be sure to get a Mountain Eclair, they're HUGE and delicious!
Virginia Jones, Psy.D.
Always consistently yummy. Pleasantly slow. If you are in a hurry order ahead in line. Nice atmosphere no matter the reason.

While in Ashville to do the candlelight tour at Biltmore House we went to the Well-Bred Bakery and Cafe. Staff was great, willing to take time and explain stuff to us. I like the fact that you can see everything that you can order in the display case.
I had a breakfast burrito which was very good and baklava. I've never had baklava before, but it was everything I expected and more. My wife had the quiche and she liked it very much as well.
The well-bred Bakery & Cafe is well worth a try just be prepared to spend some time driving around looking for a parking space.
Meredith Beck
Excellent excellent excellent. They have a fair amount of gluten free items, including some desserts which is hard to find. I got the monster cookie (see pic of giant cookie) which is peanut butter, oatmeal, and chocolate chips. I asked them for a soft one and loved it. They have food, too, and it's not more expensive than any other place.
Sarah Williamson
We used Well-Bred Bakery for our wedding reception and were very pleased. The desserts looked and were amazing! Nur did such a good job coordinating the event and is so friendly. I did a dessert bar with different types of desserts and all of them were fantastic. My wedding cake was exactly how I imagined. They went above and beyond my expectations.

BEST BREAKFAST AND LUNCH place I may have ever been to! The food was amazing and vegetarian friendly! The service was most pleasant, friendly and fast. It is very clean inside and outside on the terrace. It was also my birthday and they were sweet enough to give me a free lemon roulade with raspberries. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Enjoy!
Howie Patton
Well Bred Bakery is the bomb! I had very short notice to get a Birthday Cake for a friend's party and they made me look like a rock star! I have had many encounters with their delicious Carrot Cake in the past, so I was so happy that they could accommodate me with just a few hours' notice. Thank you Lillian and the entire staff of Well Bred Bakery! You guys are an asset to the community!

We've been here several times. The curry chicken salad is a fave of ours and I love the peanut butter pie. Outdoor seating is nice when the weather cooperates . Parking is a pain if the place is busy or you aren't fond of parallel parking, but I find the food worth the trouble.
Roxana Molina-Lopez
The best eclair I’ve ever had in my life, Lol!! I’m an eclair lover since I was a kid. Probably should share since I’m sure it’s a million calories.
Siraj Florida
Oh yes, yes, yes! Cookies the size of pancakes! Eclair Mountains, and I mean MOUNTAINS! Great coffee, beautiful clean dining area. If you are visiting the Biltmore area, do yourself a favor and enjoy a treat!
Roz Collins
So good, I wanted to move in. So many great choices. Had the perfect brunch for me - egg & cheese croissant plus a garbanzo bean salad side. Incredible!
Kristina Hacker
If you are in Asheville and heading to the Biltmore you must stop here! Their breakfast croissant sandwiches are amazing and the bakery selection is delightful! You’ll want to taste everything and have some for the ride home or to your hotel!
Nick and Silke
I can't believe that a cafe in Biltmore Village only serves their drinks and food on plastic/cardboard. What a waste and certainly not all that eco-friendly. The Euclair was good, the brownie was very rich and uber-sweet. The coffee drinks were ok, I certainly prefer my cappuccino in a cup and will go somewhere else the next time we're in town.
Mike McCary
This a great place to start your Biltmore tour. We had breakfast sandwiches, coffee and a cinnamon roll. We could not finish everything there was so much food. The pastry selection is huge. I would love to try it all. You order at the counter and they bring your order to the large sitdown area. I would come back, in fact I might come back today. There is Lot of chocolate to try.
We returned following our tour of the Biltmore to have lunch. This time we split two lunches for the three of us and we were able to finish it all. We also picked up ginger cookies and a chocolate chip cookie. The ginger cookie was spectacular and the chocolate chip was good.
jackie kinsman
Great little bakery. Very nice service and the location in Biltmore Village was a great way to spend the morning. The eclairs were our choice. They were fantastic. So many things there that I would have loved to get. Hard to make a choice
Jamie Harrington
EVERYTHING is delicious here! Can't go wrong with whatever you order, the staff are friendly & the atmosphere is cozy, especially with the outdoor patio as an option! They also have gluten free options. Overall, Well Bred is just a good life choice! 👍🏼👍🏼❤ …
John Busigin
Great croissants! Several choices of delicious quiche. Fantastic coffee. Choice of almond milk or soy for non-dairy. Great for breakfast, dinner, or an early supper. Open air outside in the courtyard.
Christian Mai
Super good coffee and tasty bakery items and snacks. Nice atmopshere and inside and outside seating.
Kokila R
Lovely dessert place where people were equally sweet. I couldn’t try their salads this time but I will probably next time :)
Dr MiKi Kitchen
Very busy little quaint place. Desserts looked doable, purchased lemon poppyseed roll did not have much flavor-a glorified muffin. The shortbread cookie was good.
Had the egg and cheese on a toasted croissant. The egg was cold and the bacon and croissant slightly burnt.
Coffee was delicious, the Jamaican me crazy!
They did lose our order, but refunded.
Jay Frigon
We only stopped at the coffee shop. They weren't letting anyone inside the building and the service could use some training. We got there at 5 til 4 and watched them turn away 4 groups of 3 to 4 behind us. I was surprised that anyone running a small business would turn away that many customers over a 5 minute difference in closing time. The coffee was good, they didn't have any real milk.
annnmarie braccia
Some of the best desserts I have had in a long time. The chocolate orange gluten free cookie was amazing! It can definitely be shared and you will want to do so.
Julie Reese
We try to go here every time we visit Asheville. Had the carrot cake this time and it was delicious! Super friendly staff. Great place!
Aidan Cheung
Great service and great food! Well worth the price. We came by to get an assortment of selections for our restaurant and we loved the mountain eclairs. Everything else was also fantastic. Will be back for more!
Jason Chamberlain
I stopped in here while walking through Biltmore Village. I had a cup of chai and it was excellent. I also picked up a few cookies for my family. They are enormous and very shareable. We really liked the ginger molasses and the chocolate orange. The chocolate chip was OK, but the base was more like a sugar cookie than a toll house cookie. It was tasty enough, but not my favorite.
I included a photo of my cup because I love the font they use on their signs and on their cups. This place has a very nice style about it.
Note that they do NOT have wi-fi, so this is not a place to hang out for a long time. It's a place to get a bite and go and a good place at that.
LISA EBERSOLE DEMPSEY
We always stop here when we're visiting! There are so many delicious choices and the beautiful surroundings and ambiance make it even better!
Kris Petersheim
Once again it definitely didn't disappoint!! The food is always wonderful and the coffee is good as well.
Julie Schneider
A wonderful bakery with friendly staff. So many very tasty options for breakfast, lunch and just a treat! When I'm visiting the area I get here at least once! The eclairs are my absolute favorite!
Anna Guild
I just had to post because it can be seen as expensive to some. I ordered a piece of carrot cake and I have to say that the icing was amazing. The icing wasn't super sweet. The cake itself was sweet to me so there was a good balance. I started eating at the bottom of the cake first and worked my way up. Unfortunately the closer I got to the top the more I could taste a freezer burn type taste. I ended up throwing half of the piece away. I wish I could give this five stars but once you've had food that taste freezer burned it is just so hard to get that taste out of your mouth. My sister had a piece of fudge cake and it was great. My mom had something with espresso but I wasn't sure what it was exactly...hers tasted freezer burned at the top as well and she ate it anyway...however the cookies and brownies all turned out fine...so it's a toss up. I'd say it's definitely worth a try but I'm not sure I could eat cake there again.
Jackie Hurst
I had a gluten free lemon poppy seed roulade and a double chocolate almond cookie. They were both delicious. It’s hard to find good gluten free desserts.
David M
Great place for coffee and baked goods. A quaint comfortable place to sit and enjoy a nice meal.
Jeffrey Jorgensen
Quaint with a good menu. Prices were descent and food was very good.
Josh Shaske
We weren’t planning on stopping here, but when my husband and I both stopped to enjoy the smell of the grilled cheese, we quickly made room in our schedule for some lunch.
Ordering was easy, since the gentleman helping us knew plenty about the menu. The food came out quickly too.
While we were eating, a group of women stopped to say that they hoped it tasted as good as it smelled, which it absolutely did.
10/10, would grilled cheese again.
Al Stoffa
Italian Ciabatta was good. Delicious assortment of cookies. Outdoor seating.
I Shandell
Good place to stop in Biltmore Village for a light bite. Help is very friendly. Would give them 5 stars if they lowered the price of their iced coffee and fixed their outdoor patio so the chair legs don't fall through the cracks!
Annie Fritschner
I so love eating outside here under the umbrellas and amidst the Biltmore Village history. Dessert first please!! Then salad, sandwich or great salads.
Lily Ice
Delicious, tasty and flavorful. Good for a quick bite.
April Kyttle
Chicken salad sandwich and Kale side salad. I had to taste before I took the photo and almost forgot it was soooo good!
Peter van Susteren
We ordered gluten free roulades that were out of this world. One lemon poppyseed and one espresso flavored roulade. I didn’t know gluten free baked goods could taste so good!
P. Tovi
Just moved to the area and had to try as many coffee shops as possible considering I have a great addiction for it! The employees were all super nice and provided fast service. We got some iced coffees and pastries, including the eclair. While the coffee was pretty weak in my opinion, the eclair was spot on. Not too sweet, not too much, but just right. It’s also dog friendly which is always a plus! I will definitely be returning.
Nancy assuncao
Delicious, lovely, great service and wonderful team - this is how I’d describe The Well-Bred Cafe. Our daughter told us about this gem when we visited her this week and we had breakfast there four days in a row!
The croissant egg sandwiches are DIVINE! The egg is a custard treasure accented with crispy bacon. Perfection.
Bakery goods are wonderful. Coffee is great and be sure to try the chai.
A must go.
Kelly Goodman
The BOMB! I would have taken a photo, but we ate so quickly! We got the burritos 🌯 & they were fresh & amazing! The salsa was perfect!!!
Girls got the apricot cookies, they loved them! And my son who is the pickiest eater to ever live enjoyed the grilled cheese (was pleased they offered that at 10AM) !
Coffee was good too!! We’ll definitely go back!! ❤️
Em McGahee (Retailshopper23)
Precious little bakery in Biltmore Village. We enjoyed our breakfast on the patio.
Adam Crane
Really good food and pastries. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Anndria Thorne
Solid for a quick breakfast. Coffees are great. Just a little pricey.
Sandi Ellis
Such a gem in the heart of the Biltmore Village. We enjoyed a mountain eclair and admired all of the other options in the case. A great bakery, for sure!
Matt Bossemeyer
Spacious pet friendly patio and good sandwich options. Great coffee as well.
Chris Snyder
Delicious and huge quiche, grilled bfast burrito and tasty mocha in a glorious outdoor setting with the town clock ringing the passage of time. Bonus was taking the best ever curry chicken salad croissant for the drive home. Must eat here!
Bryanna Marie
Great service and great staff! Had an eclair and it was so yummy! The person at the front was super polite too!
I will say, the customers are incredibly rude to the poor staff. You can tell the staff is trying their best and I know working during a pandemic is not easy. A lot of entitled boomers unfortunately and some didn't even tip for things that were out of the workers' hands.
Chad Burrell
Our "go to" place in the village. Friendly people and excellent pastries.
Ricardo TAPIA BASURTO
The staff is friendly and effective, they know about the allergens (Gluten, Nuts) and possible cross contamination in the foos. About that, the food is good, a little overpriced for rather small portions. The place is good for having beverages and a light snack, not for a whole breakfast.
Drew Beeman
Super cute outdoor patio area with fantastic baked goods and coffee. The employees were extremely happy and kind too!
Laura Robinson
We love visiting here for lunch on our way through Asheville. Good sandwiches and plenty of sweets to choose from afterwards. Located inside Biltmore Village it's a great stop while visiting the neighborhood.
Melissa Coulter
So GOOD!. Cozy, indoor and outdoor seating, delicious deli fare and don't even get me started on the sweet bakery items. Don't miss going by there in Biltmore Village Asheville.
max charbonneau
the food is fine, but the staff here are EXCELLENT. they have a wonderful team spirit and watching them interact makes my day. they are always friendly, patient, and ready to help. im a bit concerned about their working conditions, because the store is rather hot and the staff are in all black clothing.
Michelle Allen
Huge delicious hot muffins that taste fresh from the oven! Delicious coffee! Love the cozy setting and outdoor patio area! Great start to my day shopping in biltmore village!
Susan Schaffer
One of our favorites! The desserts are fabulous! The quiche is also wonderful. Cookies are huge and delish! Chicken salad sandwiches are large, so share one so you have room for dessert!
victoria willis
Great alternative to the more expensive eateries in the area. Very delicious, highly recommend!
Rey Garza
We enjoyed our visit here. The sandwiches were fresh and delicious. The coffee was nice and smooth and the Key Lime pie was very good. I would definitely recommend this spot.
Jordyn Gardner
I asked about gluten free options and was told they didn't make gluten free bread for the sandwiches, which conflicts with other reviews, so I'm not sure what's going on with that, but I enjoyed the quiche which I was told was the only gluten free choice.
Katie Galayda
Decided to swing in for an early lunch today. The grilled cheese on challah was good but the lemonade was my favorite. Looking forward to trying some dessert items next time.
Marci Lockwood
We were looking for some good fresh baked sourdough bread. We’re fairly new to Asheville coming from the SF Bay Area in CA so we have been spoiled with great sourdoughs. We found Well-bred online and thought we’d give it a try based on their reviews and menu.
We did an online order last Saturday night for a Sunday morning pickup. Showed up at 9 am and unfortunately our order didn’t seem to go through. However, they were able to hook us up with almost exactly what we wanted.
The sourdough batard was perfect! Nice texture, flavor was truly sourdough, great crust. We also got 2 plain bagels and a cinnamon roll. The bagels were the best we’ve had so far in Asheville! And the cinnamon roll was excellent!
Overall win on all items. We will be back. There are 2 locations and they have slightly different menus so make sure you order and go the right one 😉.
Phillip Farrell
Had an amazing experience. I'm from out of town and enjoyed their curry chicken salad, which was so unique and tasty. Most importantly their coffee was amazing! I have mine black and enjoyed their dark roast. Incredibly smooth with great tastes of caramel.
Victoria Mass
Great pastries with a variety of choices everyday! My husband and I were staying in Asheville for 3 days and came here two out of three of those mornings for breakfast. It was really busy especially Sunday morning but they’re still pretty quick to serve you. The staff is very fast but still giving off nice, patient customer service. The coffee was..don’t even get me started..totally amazing. We loved the sun-filled sitting room, it made our day begin so happily, twice!
Amy Hutcheson
Great food and sweets! They have both Gluten free and Vegan options and it’s in beautiful Biltmore Village. The staff is always nice and the service is quick. I have never been in here when there aren’t at least a dozen others here also. And if the weather is nice, the outdoor patio is fantastic!
Chris Cox
We got a few desserts here and everything tasted great. The staff was very friendly. Definitely give them a try.
Georgie Philip
The service was phenomenal and after getting my dish and realizing I was allergic to all of it (totally my fault, tree nut allergy peeps avoid the chicken salads!) they replaced my entire lunch free of charge with an equivalent and still delicious item! Very safe during COVID too because of cashier being outside.
Judy LaMance
Desserts the size of your head! Stopped here after a recommendation by a local. We missed breakfast by 6 minutes, but their sandwiches are amazing. But save room for dessert. They are huge (today sharable) and DELICIOUS. I will most definitely be back!
Carolyn Lescalleet
My husband, Sonny, frequently eat at the Bakery and have found it a wonderful place to eat wholesome food. The fresh salads, soups and sandwiches are exactly what we like. Sometimes we share because the portions are so large. Desserts are amazing! I never met one I didn't like. The staff make us feel at home. Sometimes we meet new friends! Make it a favorite stop, we do!
Ashley Rogers
Ordered online for take out. I may have gotten the wrong things but I ordered the almond bar and baklava. The baklava was okay but the almond bar was so sweet and heavy in almond extract that I couldn't stomach more than a small bite or two. Way too sweet. Admittedly I haven't tried anything else there but the imbalance of the sweetness in the almond bar was way too much.
Amy Demas
Yum. So good.
Sylvia Mercer
Oh my god this place is so good. The pastries are so h u g e and amazing.
Morgan
I had the veggie breakfast burrito and my boyfriend had the chorizo breakfast burrito. They were both really good and they came with salsa and sour cream which gave them more flavor. I had the fresh squeezed lemonade and it was some of the best lemonade ive had. He had a latte and said it was kind of really watery and had little to no coffee taste. Overall it was very good and i recommend this place for breakfast.
Ambrosia W
We got some cookies and dog biscuits. My pup LOVED the dog biscuits. I got the Chocolate Orange cookie, which was good, but I wish it was softer versus chewy. The Monster Cookie was pretty hard but the flavor was great. I have had their Chicken Salad on a previous visit, which was pretty tasty.
Travis Howk
Wow! Such great customer service. The food was excellent and there were many choices. The manager is very friendly and the atmosphere is quaint and cute.
Our food was initially delivered only partially complete. When this was pointed out, the manager not only corrected the issue but gave us a giant chocolate chip cookie on the house! Cannot recommend enough. Great for couples seeking brunch.
Christy Quirk
This place is a go-to whenever we visit town. Our favorites are the chicken salads and veggie sides, and coffee drinks. The bakery treats are pretty good, and most are sized quite generously. The indoor seating is tight, especially in the colder months when everyone is inside, but it does work out.
James Lally
Excellent. Friendly service staff with a great sense of humor, knowledgeable staff who know the menu and don't rush you the moment you set foot in the door (like a popular national chain starting in P and ending in Bread). Great environment inside and outside seating. Fairly priced for the quality of the product and a great menu. Lovely building with easy parking on or off street.
Kara Marker Credle
Tasty food, friendly staff, great location. We had the quiche, croissant sandwiches, and a selection of sweets and beverages. All 10/10!
Hendograph Media
Best Key Lime Pie ever! I love the ambiance in the dining room; cozy and fresh, just makes you feel good, not to mention to aromas of decadent bakeries. Wonderful place to stop. I've had some of their savories and lunch items as well. Can't go wrong. Welcome to the Village!
Austin Mccabe
The food here was delicious. It was really crowded when I certainly do I ate outside to get away from all the people. It was small so it hot cramped very easily. I got a lemon cake thingy and it was great. Would definitely come back sometime when it's slower. Staff was overwhelmed when I came but they where good.
Jessica Pulcifer
Really tasty treats. The eclairs ($7.95) are huge! Chocolate mint moouse is rich ($5), but so good! And the pecan praline cookie ($2.50) is just right. The prices are reasonable. They always have a good crowd, but we didn't have to wait long. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Barbara Peterson
The cream puffs are outstanding! Pumpkin Roulade was a quality baked good. I will be going back every time I'm in town.
Carla Mccarty
This bakery earns its name, the most delicious baked goods and drinks. The inside seating is comfortable and lovely. The outside tables under umbrellas makes you feel as if you were visiting another country. If I lived here it would be my weekly routine to treat myself, anymore than that, I'd have to go on a long walk everyday. So worth it!
Mighty Milo
Great solid service. Been here two times and each time has been great. We had an issue with our meal the second time but they had no problem replacing it and very apologetic. Even gave us a free oatmeal cookie, which was Delicious. Great bakery with fantastic sandwiches.
Two Guys and Their Dog
One of my favorites bakeries in Asheville. Love Biltmore village location.
Amanda Hughes
Got away for a girls day and decided to stop in for lunch. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in suggesting a few choices for us first timers. The food was delicious. So good in fact that we came back later that same day to share a mountain eclair. If you don't know what that is, you should definitely stop in to find out. You will not be sorry. They also offer homemade dog treats if you bring your pet and dine in the courtyard.

We have been to Asheville three times this year and each time we always make it a point to go to this Well-Bred Bakery and Cafe. on this visit we got their chicken salad sandwich which is on a croissant roll. It was huge and fed both my wife and me.
you can't leave without looking at their cookies and other desserts. We always walk away with the monster cookie which I believe is leftover dough from all the other cookies put into one. It is an incredible cookie. These oversized cookies also include raisin oatmeal which is a can't miss for me and my wife always gets a pecan cookie.
The atmosphere is cozy and warm and the people always provide fantastic service.
Michelle Raines
I’ve always lived in Asheville. While we have so many great places to eat, I love Well-Bred and highly recommend it. The service is always friendly and the food is fresh, fresh FRESH! The tuna and chicken salads are fabulous as are their soups, sandwiches, pastries and other decadent sweets. A fun stop for real food in Biltmore Village. Enjoy!
Christopher Mee
The place is cute....As for meals (croissant chicken salad sandwich, ciabatta sandwich, grilled cheese, quiche) it's rather standard, nothing that jumps out with flavor. The ciabatta was the better. The croissant was like a Sam's Club variety... Probably is as I see the gloves they use are Member's Mark. Ice cream sandwich is NOT freshly made to order, it's good though. The lemonade, unknown if freshly made for the day, was not Chick-fil-A sweet, and good. The cookies are huge! It's alright, but I wouldn't recommend.
Bluekandy
Be honest - you can't beat a crisp autumn morning walk in beautiful Biltmore village while enjoying sweet bakery treats.
M H
Excellent pastries, fantastic sandwiches, and the curry chicken salad is great! The pastries have a great selection to pick from, they're not a cloying sugar bonanza, and are just very well put together. These pastries don't need to rely on a ton of sugar to be tasty! Absolutely can't recommend this place enough!
nassim mir
Key lime pie to die for, not too sweet and not too tart. No indoor sitting, need to order outdoor. A heat lamp definitely would be appreciated in these mighty cold day specially if you sitting outdoors to eat.
J Samuel Diehl
Sweets, Sweets, Sweets. That's the name of the game here. Well-Bred is charming, the prices are nice, the staff are very friendly, and the place has a tender and clean decor. Seating is plentiful, although parking nearby is rough. You'll likely need to walk the block or two but if you're in the village you're probably doing that anyway. The chai I had was nice and spicy, and my partner's coffee was a spot on roast. Stop in. You will not be dissatisfied.
John Dooley
Our favorite breakfast spot each visit to Asheville
Carol Duncan
Daughter took me there for my birthday breakfast before we went on a hike at Biltmore and I loved the atmosphere, the food was delicious I had the breakfast burrito. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and just wonderful. I definitely would go back there again and again.
Donna M. Chandler
My husband and I always stop in here for a sweet treat every time we visit Asheville. The service is outstanding and the food is terrific. I have Celiac and they always some wonderful gluten free goodies for me! (Hint: the espresso roulade is AMAZING and gluten free!)
Peter Chami
Amazing cake prepared for a birthday celebration! Went with the pistachio flavor Signature Creme Cake with whipped cream frosting which was incredible! We planned a weekend trip to Asheville and picked this cake up after visiting the Biltmore house and everyone in the group was very impressed. Will definitely visit again if back in the area.
Zane Doty
This place was adorable and had good food! My only complaint is that there was no separation of items containing allergens like nuts. I was severely limited in what I could get because of my tree nut allergy and the fact that everything was cross contaminated in the bake cases and there were no additional options for those items that had not been contaminated. :/
Jennifer H
Always amazing! I am so happy to have found a place with such great gluten-free options. The chocolate orange cookie is incredible! Do yourself a favor and get one with a hot cup of coffee!
Carrie P
Adorable coffee shop! Had a really nice outside seating area in the heart of Biltmore! The staff was super friendly and took our order quickly despite being busy. I had the chai tea latte and am now thoroughly addicted.. sooo good! Will definitely be a return customer!
Steven Sreb
I recommend the crustless quiche. Gluten free and 3 different varieties. I've taken to stopping for a piece every Friday morning when I'm in the neighborhood. Nice salad selection too. I don't eat the sweets but I hear they're very good.
Stacey F
Prices are reasonable however, we ordered the Chocolate Macaroon and the Pot de Creme. The Pot de Creme was very rich and needed more whipped cream to offset the richness of the desert. The Chocolate Macaroon was rock-hard and very cold and needed a knife to cut as if it was not quite thawed after freezing - not fresh at all. Parking is difficult in Biltmore Village.
Peggy King
My family of 6 stopped by after biltmore and grabbed various sandwiches, coffee, and of course the Mountain Eclair to share. Food was great, staff friendly and helpful, and coffee was hot and had free refills. Seriously, get the mountain, it's the best.
Sara L
Food is well made, but they were out of essentially all food items by 2pm. Sandwiches are also pre-made, if they have them. Good place for a snack but not for a brunch/lunch.
Blake Walker
I was very excited for this location. The reputation of the caramel milk bones proceeded the premier. When it opened it was just okay at best. Paper cups and plastic knives. Lots of microwaving done by the patrons. There are too many other good place to go in Asheville.
Jim Tolbert
We live nearby and eat here regularly. A favorite breakfast stop for my wife and I and equally good for lunch. Reccomendations: the kale salad! Mix the regular and curry chicken salads. The baked french toast. The egg and cheese on Ciabatta. And good coffee.
Rebecca Rand
Let’s see ifI can describe how out of this world, fabulous, the Mountain Chocolate Eclair is! The pastry cream is bountiful and luscious, the dark chocolate ganache is rich and aromatic, and is all wrapped in the airiest deliciousness of the puffed pastry. Food “O”!!!! The Eclair is big Enough to easily feed four people, or two who decide what the heck... this is worth the decadence to indulge in, after all we are on vacation! Enjoy💕
Karen B
Well Bred Cafe is really cute inside and has excellent food. Great quiche, pastries, and the ciabatta bacon and egg sandwiches were delicious! Service was friendly and quick and great coffee too!
Brynn O'Day
It was so delicious! I ordered a turkey sandwich, which was toasted perfectly. I also ordered swedish cream, which was creamy like cheesecake and had a tasty raspberry sauce on top. Definitely recommend it.
mindy milligan
We stopped in for a little dessert and walked into a baked goods wonderland.... there are so many choices and everything looks amazing!!! The Lemon Bar and Swedish Cream are we we shared and both were equally amazing and fresh!! This is a must stop if you are in the Biltmore Village! !
Dennis Cobb
The food was fantastic and the pastries were out of this world. Definitely will stop by again on our next visit.
Shirley Haslam
This place was great! A wee bit pricey, but the chocolate chip coconut macaroon was heavenly and worth the price!! We ate outdoors and it was a gorgeous day to do so!! Great service here as well!
Kermit Hallman
Awesome little coffee shop, desserts to die for, especially the Ginger Florentino. Coffee was exceptional good, loved the espresso, much more flavourful then SB.
Russell Bond
Great dessert and coffee. Nice courtyard to relax on a Saturday morning. Staff has always been friendly. Menu looks good but I’m usually there for dessert. Eclairs are a favorite.
Mas Lukas
OMG So good!! A must stop if in the area!!! 😊 …
Edward Ellis
GOOD FOOD, GOOD PRICE
Stopped off for a sandwich, but ended up with a beautiful Gouda Cheese Quiche, English Pea Salad and Fruit Compote, all perfectly done and quickly put on the table. One orders as you enter and food then is brought to table. Beverages like Lemonade have free refills. If you're in Biltmore Village and don't want to pay a fortune across the street, this is the place. Oh yes, definitely buy cookies or pastry for take home.
Hugh Munro
An excellent cafe with a wide variety of baked goods, breakfast and lunch items and espresso drinks. If you have a special occasion coming up, make sure to try one of their whipped cream cakes, my favorite is the Grande Marnier.
Ames Hutchins
We love their handmade sandwiches and quiches. But always save room for dessert it is definitely worth it. Lovely place to people watch during your visit to Biltmore Village.
NeeSee
I am so thankful for you guys dedication to gluten free desserts... You made my daughters birthday extra special 🎂🎂🎂 Calling in all the way from Florida!!! 🌴 ... And Christian is GOLDEN! ✨ Perfect Customer Service 100% .Bravo !! …
Eric Shiflett
Nice little cafe. Food is good and service was mostly quick. Staff is very polite. There was a new employee behind the counter, so there was a little learning curve for her, but she did well. Unfortunately, there is no wifi on site.
Brock Sutton
The food was excellent and all was well until I ate their oatmeal raisin cookie. You see they labeled four or five of their cookies as containing nuts, so I assumed the ones that weren't labeled that way didn't contain nuts. Boy was I wrong! My whole body broke out in hives from the walnuts in the oatmeal raisin cookie and it could have all been avoided by properly labeling and warning customers of potential allergens. Please update your displays!
Seidy Sleiman
We had a hard time to read the menu and not being able to see the desserts because the shop is half closed bc of Covid, is a big deterrent for me as that was the #1 reason I wanted to go there. I’m sure they are amazing but we just had a latte which was pretty good.
Bonnie Corby
Adorable shop in a wonderful setting. Coffee is fantastic but...the baked goods are incredible! Everyone is so nice and helpful. I haven’t had lunch but expect that’s it’s just as good as everything else.
Karine Hervy
Good service, cute place, amazing food. The mountain eclair was fantastic! The only thing I would say is they don't have freshly squeezef orange juice, but no big deal!
kiteandcamera
If you are a fan of carbohydrates, you will love this bakery. I finished a meal across the street and popped in for my initial vist. Left with a huge bag of goodies; most of the contents made it home! Cakes, eclairs, cookies, all so good.
Toni Robinson
Friendly staff, great pastries, cookies, and pies. Nice outdoor seating. Interior warm and calming. Visited with new friends. Never felt rushed. Stayed quite some time.
Dannielle Rice
Cute bakery. Delicious quiches. Friendly staff. $1.50 for a can of coke little steep, but it's good food. Great dessert selection.
Charlotte LeRoy
Great food and reasonable prices! The restaurant itself is well-decorated, clean, and cheerful. All of the workers were happy and respectful. Everything I tasted had terrific flavor, and I was thoroughly surprised at the low prices.
Cynthia Bradley
We enjoyed the food! especially the desserts! We were here about a year ago and made it a point to come back when we did our yearly mom and daughters trip! Very worth while.
susan west

Alena Yarmolik

Many delicious looking choices.
Beautiful interior
Bradley Hollis
In my 4 day stay in asheville. We visited 3 times. To be fair we didnt know about this place until day two. Simple, easy, and great coffee. I didnt find better coffee in my 4 day stay, and for me to visit 3/4 mornings that should be a review in itself. Stop in, relax, and enjoy.
J Kent Holden
We want one of everything! We had breakfast, bacon cheddar and scallion quiche plus a spicy Mexican burrito....simply delicious!
Gunars B.
Sandwiches and soup were great. Cookies had good flavor but we're slightly over baked. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Scott Stevens
This place cannot win enough accolades. In a town like this, you expect there to be a bakery somewhere that just destroys all other bakeries, and this is the one you're looking for. Every pastry in their case is outstanding. I love to go in for a cookie and coffee whenever I happen to be nearby.
Stephanie Frye
Got the GF crustless quiche and breakfast sandwich on croissant. Phenomenal! Several options to suite dietary needs. Very friendly staff. Beautiful cozy house to dine inside or out.
Lindsay Brumley
I had the black bean veggie bfast burrito, a ginger and apricot scone, and coffee. Everything was so delicious! They were super friendly too!
Aaron Blackmor
Fantastic, cozy spot in downtown Weaverville. You feel like you're in confectionery heaven with so many tasty dessert options, but they also have great food options like sandwiches, soups and delicious quiche varieties (including one made gluten-free). Oh, and they have yummy gluten-free options for dessert also (although it's a true bakery so if you're full-blown celiac you still couldn't have anything).
Kris Monaghan
We went for bunch today since been several times when in Asheville. The counter help spent more time fussing at customers where we stood in wrong spots while in line then waiting on us. Sarcastic when we decided to leave and yell out have a good day. I do not care how good food is customers service is worse I have seen at counter.
Mark Lange
High finish bakery with outdoor seating at nice corner in the Village. Well-heeled customers enjoying a pastry and coffee. We didn't look at food menu, so can't speak to that, but I would guess top shelf
lonnie pressley
Love this place. Everything we have tried has been great!
Jon Spit
The deserts are unreal and very well balanced. The house and seating is well done. Inside and out. Only a small complaint...only bottle and can drinks. Coffee and tea...plentiful
Aaron Tosky

Margaret Moncure
I ordered the wrong coffee drink and the lovely staff made me a new one and would not let me pay for it even though the ordering mistake was mine. They were busy and still went above and beyond.
Kassie Ritman
The pastries here never disappoint, coffee and beverage selection is varied and the sandwich and quiche offerings are all generously portioned and delicious. We never travel to or near Asheville without a stop at Well Bred!
