Very warm reception upon entry by staff. I tried the Fritzer, which is a cross between a doughnut and croissant. This Fritzer is very similar to a cronut made famous by Dominique Ansel's Bakery in NYC. The texture was very soft in the middle and sugary sweet on the outside. Good place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and pastry while sitting outside in their yard taken in the scenic, mountain view nearby. They're also in walking distance to downtown.

I had heard that Geraldine’s had the best bagels! Well, I’m here to tell you that they are nothing but oversized bread shaped like+a bagel. They have none of the dense chewiness of a bagel. I can’t even spread cream cheese on a lightly toasted one without it tearing up. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed other pastries, but stay away from the bagels!

Fantastic homemade donuts! One of the better Boston Cream donuts we’ve had outside of Boston. The specialty donut with the raspberry jelly filling was so good it didn’t last long enough for a picture. Breakfast sandwiches are also tasty.

I ordered a quarter sheet cake for my Mother-in-law’s birthday. She loves carrot cake, so I asked if they could make a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. They did and it was absolutely the best carrot cake I have ever eaten. Moist and full of carrots, walnuts and other flavors. It was also huge, and could easily feed 20 people!

Simply the best bakery in town. Go to their webpage and look at all the top local restaurants that use their baked goods. Its also my favorite breakfast spot. They'll make a breakfast sandwich with just about any of their breads but the croissant is dynomite with bacon, egg, pepperjack cheese, and a hashbrown. All of their pastries are great too. Flakey and not overly sweet. Perfect.

It's our neighborhood bakery. Fred the baker gets up and makes everything fresh, is sweet wife Rose sells it. They close at 1:00 like a good Baker should. They wake up in the morning and do it again fresh everyday. We're really lucky to have them.

For Christmas, our manager bought pecan and apple pies. I chose pecan. This pie was the best I have ever tasted. Usually pecan pies are entirely too sweet. This one was not that way. It was absolutely amazing. I would like to purchase one, to share with my out of state family. I hesitate, only because I don’t want to hurt my mother’s feelings. LOL!

I loved the vibe, the staff was great, so I was really bummed how disappointing the food was. I ordered the spicy veg croissant and lemon turnover. When I got home, it was a cheese croissant. It was bland and somehow the bottom was soggy and puckered. The turnover was flaky but dry like all the butter had leaked out. The lemon filling tasted exactly the same as the industrial lemon filling from inside a grocery store filled donut. Wondering if I ordered wrong or it was an off day?

They have mastered the art of making pastries. Everything I have tried from them so far has a delectable balance of flavor and filling. You need to arrive early if you want a croissant sandwich. They sell out fast. 10/10 would recommend!

Their baked goods were not very good. The short bread had no crisp to it. It was like coagulated flour. Their chicken pot pie however was much better than the pastries, I'd recommend that.

Family business who have been taking Covid precautions seriously. Everything is made from scratch and baked daily. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. True classic neighborhood bakery. Try the chocolate cigar ! Of course, quick made to order NY style egg sandwiches are a plus!

I'm never ever disappointed with any purchase I get from Geraldine's. I live about 30 minutes away and if I'm ever in the neighborhood I always stop in. Amazing donuts, breakfast sandwiches, cookies, pie. They do cakes to order and I'm going to get one for my birthday this year for sure. If you're looking for a classic neighborhood bakery like one you might have grown up with if you were born for the late eighties this is totally what you need.

We love going here on the weekends. Their treats are so yummy. We have not come across one that we have not liked. My favorite is the Boston cream donut! Not to mention they have breakfast sandwiches too! The staff is friendly and helpful.

Everything I’ve ever tasted at Geraldine’s has been absolutely delicious. My favorite being the “chocolate cigar.” This place is truly a neighborhood gem. The staff is always friendly and remembers customers by name and order. If you’re looking good ole fashion bakery this is the spot! This is a wonderful little bakery! The best cheese Danish on the planet! The atmosphere is that of a Manhattan bakery! The smells, the people warm and lovely! Nice place to get in out of the cold. The prices are great for the product you receive!

I went in there today for the first time and all I can say is WOW what a cool spot, tons of pastry selections and great bread and buns for those all important cookouts. Skip past all the other bakeries and head straight to Geraldine's. Everything I've tasted here is beyond delicious and worth every penny. Plus, the folks were pretty damn nice and patient while I drooled and struggled to not buy out the case.

I've never been disappointed by anything from Geraldine's. It's certainly not a place to keep up with your diet, but if you're having a cheat day, this is the place to do it. The pastries are in a class of their own. I haven't gotten one yet that seemed the slightest bit stale. The coffee is great; the staff and service are even better. Definitely one of my favorite places to stop on the weekend. The prices are also amazing.

these guys are rad and super friendly and whip out some delectable treats. would recommend. Called to get a cake made and they were the only people available to make my cake 24 hours in advance. most other places were booked or needed to be ordered 48 hours in advance. super nice.

UPDATE! I’m increasing my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I appreciate the owners comments and it totally makes sense why they didn’t have what I was looking for at the time, but what they do have makes up for it. I’ve been back multiple times, so much that almost everyone knows my order (egg whites only for the breakfast sammie) and they give you a generous discount if you bring in your own coffee mug. I love how they support the community too. On thanksgiving they donated $1 for every piece purchased to a local charity. They also have a lending library with great books by the picnic tables near the parking lot. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Yummy shop! Came here for a quick breakfast sammie on the way to Black Mountain. Everyone is so friendly, especially Rose who took my order. She was cool when I requested egg white only for my sandwich 🥪 . It was grilled to perfection and tasted fresh, something I didn’t realize I was missing from my usual coffee shop places. I also had a fritzer’s donut that I ate for dessert later that night. I wish they sold cake slices and cupcakes, that’s the only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars. I was going to a final gathering for my herbalism apprenticeship and was hoping to buy a few cupcakes to cut and share for our goodbyes. I also wanted something a little sweeter than a donut for later but no cake slices. Despite this, it’s still a great shop and I’ll have to come back and try their coffee ☕️.

These donuts are off the chain! Beats the socks off of the national donut chains. For $1 you get a massive fluffy gourmet donut. It's hard to beat. Breakfast sandwiches hit the spot as well. Egg, bacon, and cheese on a croissant. You just can't beat that buttery, fluffy, and bacony combination. I haven't even had the chance to try their other pastries, but I'll make my way around to it as long as my body is up to the challenge. These folks are friendly and their pastries are worth the extra calories. I've visited this place one too many times this week. Going to have to run a few extra miles. Also, I like what they've done to the place. The previous owners of this location didn't really decorate the place and it just wasn't an inviting bakery. Good job.

Five stars in every way! Amazing food and very attentive & friendly staff. The service is fast and the prices are affordable! I've never had anything that I didn't love. There are so many yummy options, both sweet & savory! And hot coffee to boot. My only wish is that they would stay open longer, because I'm not an early riser and breakfast is an all day affair for me! :)

Geraldine's is an Asheville treasure. Authentic, fresh-baked cookies, donuts, pastries, bagels, and more. We order pfeffernüsse from them every year for the holidays. Their bagels are huge. Their donuts hit that sweet spot between the common, big box kind you can get anywhere and the pricey, fancy kind you get in donut-only shops, and far more affordable than the latter. The people here are always friendly and warm. And you cannot beat their prices for the quality of product you're getting. Go get a run in, earn some calories, and go treat yourself here!

This is such a hidden treasure, just north of downtown Asheville. The rolls are really great especially with fried egg, sausage, and cheese. Get there early and you will find an assortment of sweet treats. They go fast, so the later you go, the easier your decision becomes as they run out of things. The apple turnovers are to die for.

For my Mom's 70th birthday party we found out at 11:00am the Baker had forgotten to make the cake. I called Geraldine 's and they had a cake ready for me by 2:30. The people working, very nice, polite. Coffee hot, good bold taste. But the two chocolate cigarettes, and three doughnuts, were so heavy, they tore through the bag. Each one weighed a pound. Nothing light about these pastries.

I came in looking for Springerles and the didn’t have any. The kind woman at the counter recommended the pfeffernusse which I normally don’t like but the ones at Geraldine’s are awesome. We got some other holiday cookies and they were also excellent. I would certainly recommend this bakery to anyone.

Good donuts. Try the cruellers for a different twist on the donut. Although I am not a fan of eclairs, my friend claims Geraldine's eclairs are the best she has ever eaten. And she has eaten lots of eclairs. I like the stuffed croissants as well.

Upon arriving at Geraldine's a little bit after 3pm ,the variety of goodies was limited. I did manage to fill two boxes with an assortment of mini turnovers,a pair of cigars,eclairs and a tasty almond square that I finished off before exiting the bakery.....
