This is not a Swiss restaurant. It is a New Mexico restaurant with a couple things thrown in that might be considered Swiss. No Bavarian pretzels, no crepes, no waffles. The pastries were ok. We had a chocolate bear claw that was somewhat dry and an almond horn that was good when dunked in coffee. The service wasn't much - had to ask for my wife's latte, then had to ask for napkins. Just a meh experience.

Went first thing on a Thursday morning and had the Breakfast Quesadilla. Absolutely delicious! The large latte made the breakfast perfect. Service was great as was the atmosphere. We always take home some rum balls, cookies and other pastries that are also delicious.

The service was prompt and friendly but the food left a little to be desired. I got the pesto panini; it had a well baked and flavorful crumb but the turkey on it was bland and flavorless, the pesto shown through though. The spinach soup was good as well. All in all not regretful but nothing I'd necessarily rave about either

I had seen great reviews about their pretzels. Turns out they only make them on Saturday mornings and sell out quickly- Ill update review when I am able to go back and try. They also informed me “we no longer sell our bread to the public”. The bakery space attached was robust so I was looking forward to try some bread. Overall, I was sadly disappointed. Will try again soon.

We ordered an ultimate breakfast panini, a breakfast quesadilla, and a blueberry waffle and all three were very good! The service was decent, and the coffee wasn't half bad. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived, so we didn't have any trouble finding a seat. Overall, this is a solid breakfast choice.

Delivery of their wonderful sandwiches, bakery sweets and breads during COVID was a lifesaver. I was a customer long before the pandemic but it sure hit the spot when we were in lockdown. I love their bread as you can't go wrong no matter which loaf you choose. Their sandwiches are to die for and and it's hard to pick a favorite. But I do love the turkey with pesto and the turkey with green chili. Best section of bakery cookies in town!

Tried the Cubano, and that was good. Their pesto pasta salad was a bit too dry for my tastes. If you think of leaving there without a dessert, however, you are missing out. As one might expect from a bakery, this is where they truly shine.

I had a sudden craving for something flaky and sweet so I swung by the swiss alps bakery but that describes half the pastries in the counter so she suggested a cream cheese turnover and it was so yummy! I come here whenever I need pastries or lunch and they always taste amazing! Seriously, everything they make is the most delicious thing you will ever eat.

I love the ambiance of this restaurant - peaceful and holistic. The German Latte is wonderful- the chicken green chili quesadilla is home-made with fresh tortillas. We will be going back❤️

EVERY time I come here the food is great and the customer service is amazing! From the coffees and teas to all the different food, this place is a must. Don’t sleep on the breakfast because they have probably the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever eaten.

Very charming and lovely, limited menu with lots of flavor. The bakery ranges from bread and scones to paninis and salads. The cubano is the best with extra pickles!

Oh My the employees are Wonderful. Even when busy they keep smiling and do their very best. Alyssa and Alix were amazing to me they answered all my questions and if they didn't know they found out and the food is amazing as well. Very clean establishment inside and out. Caesar and Meredith were there as well as Meredith took my order and Alix was doing homework. How sweet on her time off and she was still a helpful kind Kid. You trained your employees very well and they show that they'd like to keep you in business with the kindness they spread.

WOW!!! Best bakery in Albuquerque. Had heard about this place about a year ago just have never been able to make it in (they close around 3pm?). Ordered several items out of the case because we could not decide on just one item (everything looked amazing!!!). EVEYTHING tasted as good as it looked... the carrot cake was hands down the best I had ever had, moist, dense, and so packed with flavor without being all about the sugar, but still sweet(not overly sweet like a Sam's club cupcake). The cream horn was my absolute favorite, it's kind of like a cannoli with the inside cooked some and then dipped ends, in chocolate, and some powdered sugar also... AMAZING! I cant wait to try their breads(they have alot to choose from) as well as their other pastry type items. They also have a decent size menu of sandwiches, soups, Misc items and salads.. Imagine if this place made sopillas and tortillas?!?! They would need a factory to keep up with orders lol Cannot wait to go back!!! Great job Swiss Alps bakery and cafe!!! Thank You!!!

This place calls to me in my sleep, I'm not kidding! 😂 They used to be called the Three Birds, which confused the heck out of me, but now they have just one name and stand alone on their own claim to fame as the best bread and pastry bakery in Albuquerque! They will bowl you over with their cottage loaves and chocolate bear claws that melt in your mouth. And the Red Roaster's coffee is fresh brewed and will knock your socks off! Menu items are freshly prepared on their homemade bread and patisserie items. The sandwiches and breakfast items are delicious and filling. Dine in the patio and you'll think you're back in the 70s among the post hippie chic. Love this place!

Great bakery for a cup of coffee and sandwich, which are large and a tad bit dear for the setting but worth it. Try take out if you want and go to nearby park for picnic. Tight seating inside is at a premium while tiny outdoor patio is utilitarian and somewhat lacking in atmosphere. Counter service only.

Great local bakery. Our neighborhood bakery to be exact. Great food and bakery delights. We went in on a Sunday @ 11 AM (Sunday is new for this place). They are expanding their seating options, which is good as they are often busy. Fantastic Reuben Sandwich and homemade potato salad.

Me and my grandma saw a van with Swiss Alps logo on it and I absolutely love going around finding little places and exploring little bakeries or just little stores..and we decided to try it.. Walked in & was simple but relaxing. We order soup in a bread bowl - soup of the day was mushroom.. My goodness was absolutely delicious, I have fallen in love with this bakery! My parents are visiting from South Africa and I will be taking them there! You have to try their deserts as well beyong amazing :)

Food is great and so is the staff. Everyone new and old are always smiling and courteous. The quality has remained consistent for over 30 years from when it was originally The Black Forest Bakery to it's current namesake. I can't remember a time that everything wasn't great all the way back to the original.

Great menu and good people serving it. The patio is perfect for bringing Fido and their paninis cannot be beat. The iced coffee is my go to and the breakfast rolls are perfect for a quick stop before work. The menu is so sweet and savory that Albuquerque needs the good food and vibes this place promotes. This is definitely a local gem.

First time visit. I was with a larger group and we had issues with getting our order(s) made correctly - to be fair, it looked like they were understaffed, but we weren't impressed with either their friendliness or efforts (some of our group was almost finished eating before every meal had been delivered to the table). I can't speak about the quality of the baked goods, but the sandwich was an average 3 star - neither really good or really bad. Nothing really wrong with it, but nothing to write home about either. I'd be willing to give it another visit (sometimes folks are just having a bad day) and I'll update this if I do - but the hype I had heard about quality and flavor seems a bit unwarranted.

We got there during a Balloon Fiesta rush, so it was a bit slow, but all three employees were working as hard as they could. The soft roll breakfast sandwich is amazing - the bread is so fresh (of course) and the fillings were top quality. The pastries are beautiful, the coffee was good, and overall it is a cozy place to either pick up pastries and bread or to have breakfast or lunch. Great local place.

A shout out to the staff of the Swiss Alps Bakery! They took my German Chocolate Cake order barely within the 48hr mark and called me to make sure I was coming to pick up my cake. I did not realize that they closed at 3pm and staff stayed at the shop until 4pm to make sure I got my cake. A huge THANK YOU to staff!! The cake was a total hit with the birthday boy. It really did taste great. Ingredients were fresh! It didn't taste all processed. Thanks again! I will be back!

Their food and desserts are very good but when I was there last the man at the cash register was wearing a red don’t tread on me New Mexico shirt. Very bad idea to mix business and politics so if you’re a progressive liberal or just a rational person that would most definitely offend you. I gave them three stars but unfortunately I won’t go back because of the right wing view point.

This place is amazing. Beautiful and delicious treats! Great coffee drinks and tea as well. They have outdoor seating so you can be safe during the pandemic, and you can bring your dog. I love to take my 4 year old here.

We went for brunch there the other day with some friends and had a wonderful time. We got the quesadilla which was on special. It was huge and my partner and I were glad we only got one to split. It was delicious. We also got a couple of their cookies which we enjoyed. This is my first time here and I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of their delicious looking pastries.

Food is good but I have been waiting for the build your own soft roll breakfast for 30 minutes. No one was ahead of me when I walked in. This has happened more than once. It is a simple sandwich. Very tasty.......order for breakfast and it comes in time for dinner. Plus, they ask for the tip when you first order. place is getting ridiculous. I have been going here for 20 plus years. After I got my food and I was going to my vehicle someone came out to apologize and offered me pastries in compensation for my troubles.

Not a nut allergy friendly place to eat. My wife and I ordered a sandwich. The bread was delicious! We wanted to give a taste to our little but we couldn’t, due to the nuts in the sandwich. Overall the sandwich was tasty and fresh. The seating, when there are local neighborhood walkers with strollers and when it is busy, can be tight. Nothing about the employees wow’d us. Due to the nuts used in the establishment this is a one time visit for us.

Tasty baked goods and really good sandwiches. Where they really hit their stride is their breads. The have some of the best pretzels/pretzel rolls I've had. I'm also quite partial to the almond horns, especially the chocolate dipped ones.

WOW. This place is my new go-to for lunch. Bread is made fresh daily in house and the sandwich offerings are extensive. My favorite thing so far is the Chicken Salad Sandwich on Sour Dough. All their sandwiches are great portions and come with kettle chips, a choice of a side, and a pickle. Such a great value and a complete meal.for lunch! You gotta give this place a try!

Awesome tables with long benches for studying. I haven’t checked out the outlet situation, but they do have good WiFi. Lots of outdoor seating in sun and shade. Very friendly, small-town feel. Actually affordable coffee and food!!! Prices the way it should be. (A small simple coffee or tea is just under $2)

I love this place and am so happy at all the expansion and improvement since they moved to this location several years ago. Not exactly health food, but if you have a hankering for some delicious pastry-- I highly recommend the almond horns, you won't be sorry. Adding 1/17/2021-- I am not much of a sandwich person, but I think the Tuscano panini might be one of my favorite things ever.

Great breads and pastries! Frequently, they make a mistake with my order, I get the same thing every time. This is a great place to go if you can take your time. If you want a quick coffee this is not the right place. For some reason they don’t maintain a constant of ice coffee. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, shouldn’t a coffee shop always have coffee. I asked why they never have iced brew (it is July) and the reason is because “it sells out fast and it takes 24 hours to make.” Ummmm why not brew larger batches. I recommend the fresh baked breads and low sugar cookies, just wish they were political correct enough to not call them “Diabetic cookies“ I am pretty sure these cookies don’t have a pancreas, also sure that people without autoimmune diseases can eat them. I’ve edited my post because after today I don’t think I will be coming back. 4 days in a row where they’ve run out of iced coffee. Shrug 🤷‍♀️

It was good, the price was higher than expected. For two chocolate, two ham and cheese croissants it was $30. Then we added a kids pb&j took 15 min and $7. I understand times are difficult with covid- perhaps there was only one person working. The food was good and service was kind its just not what I would normally pay for a small lunch.

Great customer service! Myself and my mom went there because of one thing, Brotchen. In the end we went home with a dozen brotchen rolls, four chocolate truffles, a chocolate croissant, and a whole lot of cookies and pastries! The atmosphere is great and they have a lot of seating room! They have stuff like breads and rolls to delicious pastries. They also do have a place inside called Three Little Birds Cafe and Co. that serves amazingly good food! I am definitely going again when I’m in Albuquerque!

We are not a big fan of the pastries. They are often dry but the quiche is always good! Google store hours need to be updated. They actually close at 3pm, instead of 4pm, as indicated online. It's not clear what other hour/day information is inaccurate.

A great local spot. They bake all sorts of beautiful loaves of bread. They have basics like White, wheat, and sourdough. And also more exotic ones like marbled rye and desert loaves. They also function as a deli serving Boars Head meat on their fresh bread, it's a great combo. Also tasty soups and deserts. Good staff and owners I definitely recommend.

My husband and I went there for breakfast this morning on a date. It was great! The food and coffee is delicious. We shared a build your own breakfast roll, a pumpkin turnover and bear claw-- all fresh and generously portioned. The German Stollen latte was a nice treat, something I've never had. We even bought items off the day old rack for the weekend. I talked to the owner to tell her what a pleasure it was-- she was very kind and appreciative. I highly recommend this local bakery. I enjoy coming here for lunch and especially to pickup baked goods. If your looking for freshly made breads, baked goods and lunch, you need to stop here. They have a lot of sandwich options, served with a lot of food. They used to offer half orders, but not anymore. So come with a big appetite. They also have coffee and teas. It's a great place to grab a baked good & a drink & hang out with a couple of friends.

Delightful slice of Europe right here in Albuquerque. Tremendous array of pastries to choose from and some very good lunch options. We really enjoyed our meal here. Would easily have been five stars if we'd found a clean table to sit at.

Fresh, Delicious, $ well spent!! I have driven past this cute establishment every morning to work and today my granddaughter and I decided to visit. She had a large Tuscano and I had a Rueben. Both sandwiches were hot, fresh bread, cut in half for easy handling. They came with chips and a small cup of Green Chile white cheddar soup. I don't personally care for Chile (Green or Red) but the souped fantastic. You do have a choice of sides such as soup, pasta salad or potato salad. We both had self serve French roast coffee. It was a clean, friendly, small cafe setting. Although my granddaughter is going back to AZ, I will definitely be back to visit. Total cost for two sandwiches and coffees = about $30 including 15% tip. Give them a try. You won't be dissappointed.

I went back 15 years after previously working here under the original owner. The bakery expanded and added lunch options that are delicious. Service is great. The place is clean ,bright and welcoming.Some of the original products, typical European pastry / cake offerings were not available during my visit hence the 4 stars rating. It might be the result of changing customer base or it could be related to my timing. Either way it is a great place to visit and enjoy wether you live in ABQ or just passing by.

We ordered 36 brownies for a party and they were fantastic. Unfortunately, when we came to pick up the brownies we also wanted to grab lunch. We ordered a slice of quiche, a bowl of soup and half grilled cheese sandwich. It took 30 minutes to get our food... which was already made except the sandwich. Seriously? The food tasted great, but pre-cooked food is NEVER worth a 30 minute wait.

This is one of the yummiest places in town! I would highly recommend stopping by and trying some of their pastries. They have great pastries and great cafe food as well. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Every Christmas we get a bunch of cookies from here because they make the best in town. Every once in a while you stumble across a really spectacular restaurant. This bakery rocks. Go on Saturday for special treats and don’t forget that you can call in and ask to have custom items made! Pie isn’t on the menu but having them make one for you is done at a very reasonable price. I am a pie guy all the way. The Ruben was good but I’ll need to try it with different meats. If you don’t go, you made a mistake

This place is a hidden GEM! Thank goodness they don't serve all day, or I may just have a serious addiction problem with their food and coffees. I've tried about every panini on their menu and each time they're crafted beautifully and have consistent delicious flavor. Worried about which side to choose? Don't be! They are both absolutely yummy! All in all, I wish I would have found this place years ago, but now that I'm a customer there, I won't go elsewhere for morning coffee, chai, and paninis! Since the day they opened, they have always had the best quality ingredients for the the best quality product. We have never been disappointed. Literally everything here is amazing! My husband's favorites are the Rum balls and the Nut pockets. My favorite is their out of this world tiramisu and stuffed crescents.

Great sandwiches and the serving is huge! We got the ultimate and the monte cristo (I might have spelled that wrong) and couldn’t finish either! We also got some baked goods and their iced coffee is sooo good. :)

Swiss Alps has great baked goods and pastries at great prices. The green chile cream cheese roll is by far the best thing they have, but they also make great Berliners, turnovers, croissants, and elephant ears. Amazing place when you have a craving for delicious flaky pastries and other baked goods, both sweet and savory.

I love going to Swiss Alps on Saturdays to get their delicious pretzel rolls. I've never had anything from this bakery that I didn't like. From the quiches to the tiramisu, it's all pretty amazing, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Got a German chocolate cake and the bottom cake layer was burned, it lacked coconut flavor, and had what seemed like sweetened butter on top. The unburned cake tasted great and the later of cream tasted great. Wife and I stuck around for lunch and both our sandwiches we're good and could just use some personal preference changes. We'd go back for lunch, but probably not a cake. Lunch 4 stars, cake 2 stars.

The Irish cream coffee didn't taste like anything and the coffee was very bitter. The two bakery items I tried were surprisingly dry. I love their pretzel rolls, but as a second visit, I was a bit disappointed with the service and baked items. It was very busy. Tables and floor were dirty and it was mid morning. Maybe an off day?

I enjoyed my treats from the store, but my wife did not. I like the mini selection they had. some of the staff are very nice and some of them are very standoffish but that's okay. The store was clean. The prices are very expensive but I kind of expected that at a place like this. On par for other places in the genre of restaurants.
