If you are thinking about getting services done with Auto Works Automotive Service Center, I highly encourage you to make them a first choice option. I'm a female that recently moved to Minnesota from Chicago and it has been hell trying to find an automotive service center that has made me feel like they were not ripping me off, cared to make me understand the issue with my vehicle and were completing services in an adequate amount of time. I truly trust them with completing services on my car and intend to be a repeated customer. The services that I had completed was a replacement of 2 inner tie rods, a steering wheel alignment and a low beam light change. I was extremely late to my appointment that day and they were still able to give me my vehicle back same day. I hate not being punctual and I would recommend that you are on time. But, I love that they were accommodating and I think it shows they really value your time. I had the pleasure of working with Tom(I believe that's his name but I can be wrong). He gave excellent customer service. I appreciated that I was never out of the loop regarding the next steps and he was able to elaborate in more detail on the things that I did not understand about some services. Also, they have a really clean and spacious waiting area. I found their bathroom to be in great condition and clean as well. P.S I think that I sounded a little concerned about what I would do during the waiting period and they actually offered me a ride home. It made me put them in my first-class customer service rating listing. Love it here - you should go!

They fixed everything I asked, and said to keep an eye on a couple things, rather than try to charge me to fix something that did not need to be replaced yet. The customer experience here at AutoWorks is wonderful. Recently while waiting for an oil change I enjoyed a relaxing 45 minutes sitting in one of their massage chairs….just what I needed that day! During their free inspection of my car they notified me that my alignment was off and my tires were starting to shred. Communication without any sales pressure. I love that! After researching my options and cost at multiple services dealers, I decided to go back to them for my alignment and new tires. They send appointment reminders via text and follow up texts to make sure their service was everything you expected. Bonus- instead of waiting for hours and hours in their waiting room, they shuttled me back to and from my home, which was the most incredible service I could have hoped for. They will continue to receive my business!

This was my first time taking our 2010 Santa Fe to Auto Works and it was a smooth experience. Blane was prompt and clear with communications from scheduling through service completion. He even took me in to meet the service technician (Adam) and they showed me the issues they found with the steering, suspension, brakes, and oil/engine residue. I appreciated how they categorized and prioritized the issues starting with the"must fix" safety issues, followed by "should do, but not safety related" and "regular maintenance" bins. They were clear, helpful, and glad to talk through what they found, all while making me feel welcomed to ask and learn about what they were doing and why they were doing it. Great experience and will be bringing my vehicles to them from now on.

I had such an awesome experience here! They were able to provide estimates same day for some pretty intense repairs (belt and pulley replacement, power steering pump replacement, fluid line replacement, etc)., and they had all of the repairs done the following day!! I called autoworks on a Friday for an oil change and tire rotation for that coming Monday. Monday came and was unfortunately called into work early. So I gave them a call telling them I had to reschedule my appointment to Wednesday and they let me pick a time frame for me which was nice. But when I showed up on Wednesday at 10 am for the appointment I wasn’t on the list. Me and the worker talked it out, he said that’s alright we can take it in and get it ready for you. I had a ride so I decided to drop it off instead of waiting. So about 4 hours go by and I hadn’t gotten a call saying my car was finished. So I reached out asking for an ETA cause I had work at 3:30. One of the workers picks up the phone and mumbles over the phone saying oh it’s not on our appointment list it’s still has yet to be serviced cause it was a drop off car. I said alright well I need my car before 3:30 thinking to myself I should’ve been able to pick the car up after an hour or two but since my appointment wasn’t in the books I had an interesting experience trying to get my car just an oil change.

The absolute best experience I’ve ever had out of all mechanic shops I’ve taken my car to. Highly recommended and I won’t take my car anywhere else. Replaced my transmission and worked with my warranty company with zero issues and i just recently brought it in to have my front suspension diagnosed for a clunking noise and they gave me a free ride home and fixed the problem for under 100$. Saved me “hundreds” of dollars🙏

I was at Target's parking lot with my kid when my car just won't start at all. I called them and asked for help since they were nearby. Soon someone came to me and checked my car. He fixed my car on spot but also suggested me to go to their garage for a through check. I did. It took them less than 10 minutes to secure the connection of my car's battery without any charge. 8 months ago, a different auto shop replaced my brakes; they squealed and howled terribly, so they replaced them again. And the brakes continued to squeal and howl for 8 months. I finally contacted AutoWorks in Woodbury, explained the problem, and they dug in and figured out the issue! I was expecting to have to pay for a brake redo, again; but AutoWorks was able to take care of it and charged me what I felt was an amazing price! I have found my new go-to auto shop for everything! Auto Works is a great place to take your vehicle they are very kind and very helpful. I brought in my 2018 Buick Encore for a diagnostics which I only had for a week and the problem occurred on the 5th day of me having the vehicle so I was kinda upset. It turns out I had a major oil leak that contaminated the whole bottom of the vehicle and they even took me back showed me exactly what’s wrong and what needs to be done. I got my car back to the dealership the same day and they got my car in the shop. I would 100% recommend this place 5/5.

Brought my car in to Autoworks because my car was not starting. Autoworks did a battery & charge test, diagnosed the issue as a faulty alternator, so I agreed to proceed with service. At this time, Autoworks stated there wasn’t an issue with the starter. Car had startup issues the following week, completed the same test with Autoworks and then said I have a faulty starter, which was not mentioned before. Overall, my experience was tolerable with Autoworks until a very rude lady at the front gave me attitude and threw my keys disrespectfully across the desk because I was asking questions about service. EDIT: Spoke with the owner Wayne, who was very nice and got the problem resolved quickly. Thank you Wayne!

They do outstanding repair work but what keeps me coming back is the fact they are always very honest with what I need to have repaired but also honest with what DOES NOT need repaired. I came into Auto Works originally for a second opinion on what I was told by a dealership needed fixed, I gave them the green light to repair it if needed and they called me recommending not to fix it as it was not a big deal. My windshield wipers were not working in the cold. The dealership I brought it to just basically took my car into their garage and said it worked. But at Auto Works, they went above & beyond what the dealership did. The first time I brought it in, they were able to make the wipers work by cleaning the ice build up & dirt/leaves but a couple days later, my wipers stopped working. I went back to let them know and they were able to get my car fixed the next day, they explained everything to me and weren’t just beating around the bush for more money. They were honest, very professional & super helpful. I definitely would recommend them for everyone. With the bad reviews I see, it’s truly upsetting. Major one I see is about price and how other places can do it for cheaper. Cheaper doesn’t equal quality. Maybe it’s just me but I am more than willing to pay for quality work.

I had an excellent experience at Auto Works. They diagnosed my issue for a very reasonable rate. They could have easily recommended additional services to identify the problem, particularly since I am a complete idiot on all matters under the hood. Instead, they let me know I needed a new water pump. Given the low value of the car, disposal/sale was the only option. I arranged to have the car towed away by a local charity. This process took longer than expected, yet Auto Works did not charge me a dime for the extra days that my car sat on their lot. What class operation. Thank you!

They are local to me so I will eventually bring my car in for other regular services. Been going to Auto Works for my auto repairs for years as they do an incredible job servicing my vehicle and the people there are friendly and easy to work with. Recently went in to service a check engine light and they were quick to diagnose and fix the problem that turned out to be one of the spark plugs going out and replacing a worn drive belt. This place I’d like to add is by far cheaper than it’s competitors which is important since repair costs these days can easily add up. I’ve never had any issues after repairs were made and I’ve been happy with the level of service I’ve been given throughout the years so I can easy vouch for them.

They seemed to recognize that I selected them among the many choices out there for auto repair. They started working on my car the same day I called, they shuttled me back home so I didn't have to wait around at their shop, they called me with updates, options and they were clear about what I could expect. No one likes to drop money on auto repairs, especially if at the end, you have the feeling you've just been robbed at gun-point. The price I paid for the repair of my two engine mounts and a ball-joint replacement was reasonable. I left feeling confident in their work and appreciated for trusting them with my car, so much so, that I returned the next day for a repair that I'd been putting off. I called Auto Works to schedule an oil change after seeing it was offering a promotion. The day I took my car in, everything was on-time and on-scheduled. Pricing was transparent. Before performing the service, the advisor quoted me on my different oil options (synthetic vs. synthetic blend). Along with the oil change, it looks like the technicians did some checks on other areas of my vehicle (e.g. tires, brakes). If you go to a dealer or big chain shop, this is where I expect thousands of dollars in 'issues' to magically appear. However, Auto Works did not identify any additional pressing issues and was very transparent in recommending next-steps for the vehicle. The waiting area is nice - very spacious and has a lot of amenities like coffee, magazines, water, and wireless internet. Overall, I wouldn't hesitating giving Auto Works a call for my future vehicle needs.

If I could rate this place with 0 stars, I would. My car had an AC problem where the AC would not work on the driver side and supposedly it was the actuator on the driver side door that needed to be replaced; atleast thats what they assumed. They replaced it and told me that the heat works and the AC works. I paid them and was on on my way. Then, I drove it home and tested it. There was no heat at all coming from the driver side now and only AC. Called them back and I was told to take the car back in for more diagnostic. A day later, still no phone call. I had to call them and they told me to wait and that they'll call me back. When they did call me back, it just sounded like a bunch of excuses. They said the part was hard to find and that they tried ordering from 3 different location. (Keep in mind that the first time I had my car back it took two days, so did they really change the original part. I wouldn't know! They also never gave me my original part as I have requested!) Anyways, I took the car in and two days later they said it was not my actuator. It was my head unit (HVAC climate control system). They said it was going to cost me $800+ on top of my $455 that I had already paid for the actuator that wasn't broken! I told to put everything back together and I'll pick up the car. When I got there, my car wouldn't start. I went inside to tell them and they came out with jumper battery. Tested my battery and said I needed to replace it! The battery was pretty much brand new. They looked and it was stamped with 10/21 as the expiration date! I asked them why was my battery dead and they said they don't know why and couldn't answer me. The mechanic said just go return it for because it should have a warranty. Woah! This place is horrible! I would not recommend it to anyone! Update: The manager called me after my review. He was polite and professional. He offered me a solution for the mess. That was that he would replace my hvac unit for free. I would go here again, but only if my issues was confidently resolved the first time.

QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM My wife and daughter were stranded 5 hours from home and the Auto Works team, most notably Josh were so incredibly helpful. They welcomed them in to do a diagnostic on the issue immediately. Unlike the Hudson dealership that was more interested in going home and said we would just have to drop it the next day to see what was wrong. Auto Works figured out what it was quickly and made the repairs in just over a day. Would have been faster if we had not had to have some major software updating done. We got a full set of brakes done here with rotors. Turns out we had a couple issues with the rotors a year apart and Wayne and his staff were incredible when it came to remedying the situation. Wayne was great to communicate with, he was prompt and got our car in ASAP and covered everything under the warranty. I wouldn’t start by saying to not go here as the technicians are very knowledgeable and from an experience stand point top quality when it comes to repairs. Also, Jen is very professional and took time to explain things to me in a way that resonated with my level of knowledge of cars. I also felt it was a genuine experience with her. However, everyone else that I encountered personally from my experience it felt bland and very condescending. So, I took my car in to have a diagnostic/check engine light checked. Mind you I’ve actually already had the light inspected at my dealership and was told what the issue was/quoted which I expressed to Tom and was taken back that they wanted to change $70 to read the light code/diagnose as in my experience is usually free or applied to service/work you have done at the shop. Frustrated, I ask to speak to Jen as I’ve worked with her in the past. She explained that she would waive the $70 and check out the car for around $140 to see what’s going on now, (how we got to that amount, I really don’t know but, I trusted in the conversation and agreed). I also, took that as it encompassed everything being checked out. Oh boy, was I wrong. So, I drop the car off and the next day got a call from Devon explaining the findings and what do you know, it’s the same reading as my dealership no biggie, I say to myself let’s move on and just fix it. The quote was $1400 i’m like yes, ok let’s do it 👍 Then Devon says but wait, there is another code that came up and we don’t know what the issue is could be a leak somewhere so, if you get this fixed it won’t remove the check engine light. Me: Ok, so let’s check it. Devon, that will be an additional $210 for the (smoke test) that is needed to identify the issue. Now, I’m back frustrated however, I agreed as I'm really concerned about my car at this point. Later on, Devon calls back with the findings and says, to fix the issue it will be an additional $254. So all in all, I have now spent in total $380 worth of diagnostic and in that $380 charged an $28 hazmat fee that was not disclosed but, heck at this point what’s an additional $28. I left this experience feeling deflated, mislead and taken advantage of. I don’t know the true integrity behind this experience, maybe those are the fees and I just don’t know however, I know how the experience made me feel. I know how when I picked my car up and 0 customer service was provided no empathy, no further explanation just grabbed my card swiped and moved on to the next guest. Still needing my car fix, I may use this company as for the reasons I’ve stated in the beginning and I mean I’m $380 deep with them already. But, by far this hits the top one of my worst experiences and at this point, I don’t ever want to step in an automative place ever again.

I brought my car in on Tuesday, 3/10/2020 for a shaky wheel at low speed and my car was fixed and out of the shop by Wednesday, 3/11/2020. From the moment I called, Ryan was very helpful and set me up with a loaner upon my arrival. I dropped my car and was in and out within 15 minutes with the loaner car. Within 2 hours, Ryan called to explain the issue with the car plus additional recommendations. He did not push to have the other recommendations done which I really appreciated. I went with just the fix of replacing my tires and they had my car ready by 3pm the next day. They had excellent service from start to finish. I would use them for future services. Thanks!

EDIT: Wayne, the owner, gave me a call after reading this review and made it right. I’ve adjusted my review from one star to four stars. I went in with my car that was shaking violently while accelerating. The mechanics couldn’t recreate the problem, which is understandable. That happens. I decided to get an oil change since that might be contributing to the problem ($50 synthetic). There were other, unrelated, issues that they found that I decided not to fix at this time because I couldn’t afford it. When I picked up my car they charged me an additional $130 for diagnostics. They never informed me of this charge when I dropped off the car or when we spoke by phone. I couldn’t afford this either but I paid it so I could get my car back.

This is the most honest garage I have ever been to. Jen and Tom at the front are amazing at taking care of customers and communicating what’s going on with their vehicles. Three times now they have proven to me and how trustworthy they are. Once having my brakes checked they told me I had 40% left even though they were squeaking I would be able to get by for a while if need be. Another time I was dismantling the sliding door on our minivan and completely disassembled the window pulley assembly it was a mess but the mechanic there took all day trying to figure out how to put it back together and saved me hundreds of dollars when they could’ve just said we need to order a new assembly. The third time I was having issues with an oxygen sensor on the minivan trying to figure out what was going on a few coils and plugs were replaced but the issue continued I started to fear the worst head gasket replacement at 70,000 miles but they found another sensor and fixed it up at a very reasonable price. They could’ve taken advantage of me during anyone of these three interactions but they didn’t. You can trust these guys.

I had the timing belt on my Honda Odyssey done at the shop last January. The tension pulley failed on it and it had to be done again. Tom was kind enough to get the parts under warranty from the supplier, but wasn't kind enough on the labor and charged me full price. A repair that was supposed to last 100,000 miles lasted a whole 29,000. Since it is 5,000 miles over their warranty, I get stuck with the whole labor fee. I should have paid the extra $200 originally at the dealer and it would probably not be an issue. After complaining I got a 10% "discount". It will be the last time I refer work to this shop. Update 8/9/19 - after discussing with Wayne we can to a more acceptable agreement.

Long-time customer of this shop, having brought a variety of vehicles here over the past 15 years or so . About as honest a shop as you will find. Most recently during some routine maintenance, they notified me of a seal leak from the transmission, said it may be covered by the manufacturer power train warranty. I took it to a Ford dealership, who let it sit in their service bay all day before telling me they were backed up a couple of weeks on transmission work. Service was fast and reasonably priced. I contacted them on Wednesday for an oil change/tire rotation and I was in Friday morning. Checking my invoice later, I found their inspection found a torn wiper blade and a dirty cabin filter. I checked the wiper blade as I had used it a few days prior and hadn't noticed anything, but it had a tear in it, visible only on close inspection. Glad to know about these small issues before they become a problem, so I can get the parts and replace them myself.

They warned me that my power steering system was about to fail. We caught it before it totally failed, but it still needed a complete new rack & pinion. While doing that they got visibility to water pump, that had also started to leak (it's a 2008 Lexus with 130,000+ miles, these things happen) so we changed that as well. When you rebuild the power steering system, you need an alignment, and in the course of that we found that the rear toe adjustments were rusted up (did I mention it's a 2008 Lexus and we live in Minnesota?). They were able to heat up and break the corroded bolts and do the adjustment (whew, I appreciate the creativity $$$). Yes, it was an expensive two days in the shop, but AutoWorks caught and corrected other issues that would have cost me more later. I am still a very satisfied customer.

I took my 2013 Kia Optima into AutoWorks recently for an oil change, and I asked them to check the suspension because I had heard some squeaking, and at 115,000 miles I thought something might be due for replacement. This is a completely unsolicited review. I cannot say enough good things about Autoworks. They just called while we had the car in for tires to say they noticed by the sticker in the window that the car is way overdue for an oil change, and asked if we wanted them to do it while they have it. Couple weeks back, on another car, I had them fix a door latch. They test drove the car, even for a latch, and noticed that it was really noisy and thought a wheel bearing might be going bad. As soon as they said it, I knew they were right, because we had all commented on how loud "the tires" were getting. After the repair the car is so much quieter. I find their surveillance of other issues in our cars super helpful without ever being pushy. And to make it even better, they support the Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf, where I volunteer. Just an awesome local business all the way around.

Looking for a service center closer to home than the dealer I found Autoworks on the internet and they are only a half mile from my home. I liked that they are AAA approved and have a 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty on their work. Joey was very helpful in giving me an estimate on replacing a timing belt, water pump and tune up. Jennifer at Auto Works is awesome. They service my $100K Mercedes, 5 series BMW, Durango, and junker VW. I spend more on the junker VW than I do the other 3 .... which goes to show their honesty. They fix what is broke, and don't hit you with the dealership-like service coverages. You can own a BMW or Mercedes without a big service bill with Wayne and his team. If your car is an uncared for junker, they can't make that better. They are not perfect - no one is - but they own whats not right and make it right.

When I picked up the car last Friday, I had decided to drive back home to Port Huron, MI - nearly 800 miles from Woodbury. My trip was going so well, that I drove straight through. Great Service. Had a dead battery and came in to see if anything else was wrong. I called ahead and they said bring in the car (after it had been jumped) and they ran a full starter diagnostic letting me know about other issues with the car. Offered me a loaner or a drive home (I didn't need it) but great offer for the future. Found a few other items that need some future repair, but not needed today (when does an auto repair shop tell you can do things later - almost never). Very pleasant and helpful personnel, and since I didn’t pick up the car the same day (it was available) they kept it inside and warm overnight and it was available for me to pick up in the morning. I was on a cross country trip with two dogs when My truck started having mechanical issues. I was referred to Autoworks and given the owner Wayne’s number. Within 10 minutes of our conversation, he had a tow truck on the way to pick up my truck and tow it to his shop. The truck was towed at 0930, and by noon, Wayne had a diagnosis of the issue. Wayne called me around 5pm the same day and told me my vehicle was ready. He sent his son to pick me and the dogs up and took us back to the shop to settle the bill. The repairs were done as quickly and as inexpensively as possible. The customer service was impeccable and so very appreciated. Two days later, Wayne sent me a text to check on me and see how the vehicle was running. I was astonished, because this type of customer service just doesn’t happen that often these days. Several days later, a check engine light came on. I texted Wayne for advice. He told me to have it checked by a mechanic and let him know what the code was. It turned out to be a code unrelated to the repair and he still gave me advice on what I needed to do. I know I can call him if I need advice. I am thankful for his help and would absolutely recommend Wayne and his team at Autoworks!!! I would give 10 stars if I could!!!! Thanks guys!!!!

On the first icy day of the year, my car slid into a curb while going through a roundabout. Upon a recommendation of a friend, I took my Jeep to Autoworks. I was met by Jennifer, who got my vehicle in immediately and gave me a loaner car for free. What I thought was going to be an expensive front-end repair turned into an education about how my Jeep actually absorbed the hit and my car was going to be easily fixed. I did need a new rim, and Jennifer helped save me a lot of money by looking for a used rim for half the price of a new rim (even though it looks brand new). Murphy's law ~ check engine light goes on a Sunday evening. Left car and keys Sunday night and they were able to get to it Monday morning. It ended up being a big repair that we had been putting off for a while so it wasn't a surprise. By the time we decided to go ahead with the repair it was end of day Monday, We had fixed car back late Tuesday afternoon and no problems since. We brought our 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe for diagnostic analysis and potential repairs. We previously had brought the vehicle to the Hyundai dealer which quoted $350 to $400 to diagnose a check engine light. In the process, the dealer also managed to disable the after market auto start. Rather than return to the dealer, we brought to AutoWorks who has done other repairs for us. As usual, AutoWorks called to explain the issue a few hours after we dropped it off. They said someone (Dealer) had turned off the auto start switch. Autoworks fixed that, no charge. Autoworks also explained that a wiring issue was causing the check engine light to turn on. They diagnosed AND fixed it for $299. Quality work by quality people has been my experience.

After a two-year hiatus (a new dealer-serviced car), I returned to Auto Works for the routine maintenance on my 2015 Buick Encore. As before, the Auto Works crew does a fine job. As an example, after the tire rotation and TPMS update, I used the Buick's Vehicle Info function to check the tire pressures. I had this shop do a front wheel alignment on my Ford F-150 after I installed new front struts with a 1-1-2" truck leveling lift kit. They got my truck into the shop and started working on it at the scheduled appointment time, the work was completed within the time frame they told me it would take. The cost for the work was $ 32.00 less than they quoted me over the phone. I am very satisfied with the work they completed. A few notes: * Discount Tire in Woodbury, mn. Referred me to this shop and told me they use them for front end alignments since they don't do alignments in there shop. * Customer waiting area is large, comfortable, very clean and they have great free coffee. * A few days after my appointment they called me just to ask if I was satisfied with the work they done on my truck. * I'm very satisfied with the complete package of the service at this shop and will definitely use them the next time either of my vehicles need a repair I am not able to do myself.

I recently had a terrific customer service experience at Auto Works! The check engine light had come on and I brought it to my favorite Service Advisor Rose Holtz (she is the BEST!) After determining that the issue was coming from a faulty spark plug, she took the time to search the manufacturers warranty website and discovered that there was documented information stating that this type of spark plug failure was covered under warranty. She also provided all the "paperwork" I needed to make a claim at the Honda dealership. This is the type of service that Wayne's team at Autoworks provide on every visit. Recently, we have had trouble with the temperature control in our car. This was a phantom problem. On occasion, we were freezing to death and the temperature control was not responding. We left the car with Autoworks for two days, and they randomly tested it trying to duplicate the problem. They could not duplicate it, but it wasn't for lack of trying. Although they spent time on it, they wouldn't take a penny from us because they didn't find and fix the problem.
